THREE BIRTHDAY DARE STARS.
"Sex is all it can ever be, because taking it further goes against everything ..."
If you are on the prowl for a quick, naughty read then this novella might just be what you are looking for. This was my first time meeting this authors work and although it was mostly an enjoyable experience, for the most part I was left with the feeling of wanting more. Cute, fluffy and romantically charged, 'Take me if you Dare' was everything you need for and easy read but not enough to make it stand out as an unmissable novel. As always I can't resist a tale of love, so for me there was qualities that I enjoyed about this short love story, but I never felt completely swept off my feet with this tale. This is the beginning of the birthday dare series and with some interesting secondary characters highlighted in this novella I'm looking forward to what's to come.
What's it all about?
For as long as she can remember Jasmine Stewart and her best friend have dared each other with birthday tasks. This year brings Jasmine to the task of finding one dirty, eventful one night stand. With her dare in mind she spends an evening focused on achieving her goal and forgetting about her last failed relationship that left her in heartache. Military safety specialist, Ethan Worth can't believe his luck when he encounters the damsel in distress at his local bar. when attraction explodes between them he can't seem to get enough of the mysterious woman that has landed in his life, but the one woman that has grabbed his attention is reluctant to commit beyond their chemistry in the bedroom. So ensues a romantic chase that might not end as this hero dreams of.
Final thoughts ...
A simple tale of finding that someone and taking a chance on love. Nina Crespo certainly has some tricks up her sleeve for delivering a easy, well paced love story that although didn't hit the higher star rating for my tastes was likeable enough to enjoy from start to finish. What did grab my attention was the abundance of chemistry and steamy sex scenes in this novel, the author created a brilliant setting for a sexy love story wrapped up in just 165 short pages. Not long for release day, if you love a brazen quickie than be sure to look this author up. Enjoy ... Kisses.

And boy what a reality that was.
This being my first book by this author, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. It's tough for me to rate novellas, since I always have the same feeling once I finished. It's that I didn't ever find myself having enough time to get invested in the characters, feeling. This was not the case here. The story flowed effortlessly, the chemistry between the hero and heroine was scorching, and the sex scenes were even hotter.
Jasmine Stewart is trying to move on. It's been over a year since she found out her ex was cheating and dumped him.

So why is she sitting in a Miami bar enduring one cheesy line after another? Because of a simple dare. Her best friend Tara and her have had a whole friendship filled with them, so why should this be any different? Or right, because the dare is to have a one night stand. Too bad her choices aren't exactly enticing...
That is at least until the deliciously sexy Ethan Worth enters to save the day...or save her from some very bad come ons anyway.
After a sexy dance at a bar and an even sexier night together leads to something more, Jasmine is not ready to face that reality...so she runs...only to come smack face to face with Ethan during her next company assignment.
As much as Jasmine wants to fight their attraction, some things are just undeniable. And after all, they are stuck together in the same company hotel for the next couple of weeks. So why not make the best of it?
But all it can be is sex because neither of them want more...or do they?
This was a fun, sexy, and light read. I wished for an epilogue or a little more of a solidified ending, but it is a novella after all, so it is what it is. I really enjoyed it and look forward to future books from this author.

Jasmine is on the rebound, using her birthday as an excuse her best friend continues on their birthday dare, and dares her to find herself a one night stand. Just when she think she's officially the magnet of all men creepy, her savior comes in the form of tall dark and sexy, Ethan. Their one night was more than she could ever hope for and want, and not knowing the proper morning after protocol, she dashes out on him and packs her bags to head home.
Ethan couldn't believe his luck, tired of the same old song and dance, he wasn't set on bringing anyone home, let alone a woman who appeared to be "the real deal. Honest, open, sexy, no games to play, no hoops to jump through." Even though it was supposed to be one night, but he was looking forward to spending the morning with her, stupid of him to think she wanted the same thing. Back from his morning run with nothing but a note to remember her by, he packs his bags and heads to his temporary home...But what are the chances that date decides to cross their paths so soon, and so far from home.
Second chances in both lust and life...two weeks is all they have, between work and play, making the most of the their time together...is it really that simple to walk away from the one who makes you whole, is it worth the risk or is being safe the best way to go???
Take Me if You Dare lived up to it's promise of fun and easy, with some heart and some drama. Nothing to over the top, simple, sexy and at times frustrating. They both have their reservations own reservations, and they each have to come to realize the gains they would get for taking the risk. Perfect bedtime read, or in between filler when you need a break from dark or heavy.

Jasmine Stewart and her best friend Tabitha have been setting each other birthday dares since they were kids. What started out as innocent and childish has now morphed into something a whole lot spicier, now that they are grown women.
Jasmine is still reeling after splitting from her fiancé because of his infidelity. Figuring that she needs to get back out in the world, Tab challenges her to find a hot guy to have an even hotter night of no strings sex with while she is out of town on business.
Ethan Worth is that guy.
He transmitted the message of confident and fit for duty, and any doubts about that were easily resolved by his wide shoulders, solid chest, and well formed biceps.
Ethan isn’t afraid to go after what he wants, and Jasmine ticks all of his boxes. Although in his line of business, commitment isn’t something he is looking for, one night of hot sex with an equally hot woman is definitely an offer he can’t refuse.
”A woman like you doesn’t make the choice to get under a man this way unless she’s trying to get over someone.”
One thing leads to another, and Jasmine finds herself doing the walk of shame the following morning, with the expectation of never seeing Ethan again. Unfortunately fate has other ideas, and thankfully they are all bloody good ones!

I loved Jasmine, she was strong, and although hurt by her past, in the end did not let it rule her future. Ethan is basically sex on a stick, with the added bonus of being able to load the washer, and clear the dishes without being nagged to do it!
Take Me If You Dare, is the beginning of the Birthday Dare series, and I hope that it provides us with a good few books. There are quite a few introductions to some smoking ex-military guys in this book, and I for one would love to see each and every one of the Bode-Wynn Security men get their stories. This doesn't feel like a novella when you’re reading it, the characters are well developed and the storyline doesn't feel rushed, Nina Crespo, is definitely an author I will be keeping an eye out for in the future.

What I Liked:
This novella was okay for me - I liked it, but didn't love it! As it is a novella, it is quite short, but that wasn't really an issue. This book was all kinds of steamy, especially the first encounter, but things kind of fizzled after that first encounter. Nevertheless, it was a decent novella (lol "decent"), and I liked it!
Jasmine is dared by her friend to have a steamy night with a stranger, while on a business trip. She doesn't expect to find a delicious-looking soldier who saves her in the bar from cliche pick-up lines from other men. Jasmine follows through with the dare... with Ethan. Ethan and Jasmine think it's a one-night thing, until they both find out that they're working in the same firm! Jasmine has been reassigned to the security that Ethan works for... and neither of them can deny their simmering attraction now that they see each other every day.
The first scene in the bar is so perfectly executed! I was hooked. And I love how Jasmine decides to be bold and go with Ethan to have that one-night stand... that encounter was super hawt. The chemistry between these two is practically alive. There are other steamy scenes in the book, but this initial one is the best one. I personally think the chemistry wilted a tiny bit after that explosive scene after the bar - part of the reason why this book got a middle-of-the-road rating.
I liked Ethan a lot! I felt bad for him, not necessarily Jasmine. I didn't hate or like Jasmine. But I liked Ethan. I wanted to hug him! Also soldiers are all kinds of hot. But Ethan is a nice guy, in my opinion.
The story is pretty interesting, but like I keep saying, the romance and chemistry fizzles a bit after the first scene - and so does the plot, kind of. But that's okay, this is a novella and it was short, so it didn't drag or anything!
What I Did Not Like:
Like I said above - I thought both the story and the romance and chemistry fizzled a bit after the first hawt scene after the bar. Ethan and Jasmine are super steamy together! Especially in that first scene (the one-night stand). After that, there are more steamy scenes, but not quite as steamy. And then the story - I just wasn't invested in the work story! It was kind of boring to me. I wanted more Ethan and Jasmine.
The other thing was, I didn't even really like Jasmine? I didn't hate her but didn't like her. She was definitely annoying after the one-night stand, and I felt bad for Ethan. Girl needs an attitude check! Though I can kind of see where she is coming from. If any of that made sense.
Would I Recommend It:
Ehh, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this one, but if you have it, OR if it's free, I would see read it! But it's short (it's a novella) and it's not the best Brazen book I've read, so I wouldn't fall over myself trying to get to this one if I were someone else. I've been on a Brazen craze all week (as you can see) so I wanted to read as many as possible, including this one)!

YES!! Entangled's Brazen imprint, I freaking love everything you publish. And Nina Crespo is of course on my new "stalk the author" list.
OK. I do have to say that I am not a fan of the novella. Because I always want more. So, of course I wanted like an epilogue or something with Ethan and Jasmine. HOWEVER, get ready for this bit of info. This is part of a series called the Birthday Dare series and we get books on all the supporting cast. This is where I say:
This is why I have such a lady boner for Entangled's Brazen right now. We here at All Romance Reviews + our BFOP had the killer opportunity to review the Wedding Dare series and we were all in LOVE with those books. This new series is going to be SO GOOD.
OK, so this novella was so god damn hot. Does anyone have any batteries? Because my vibe is dead from all the love it got due to this book. Holy mother hugging shit. That dance scene and then the sex that ensues after. Dead, DEAD!
Ethan and Jas were great leads that had some off the charts chemistry. Of course they go through the, I just want sex NSA bullshit, but finally realize they should just stop being lame and fall in lurve. And during that is what? Hot sex? YES!!
The writing is great, the story was entertaining, and the supporting cast was killer. Can't wait for books on all of them!! Seriously, you absolutely are going to want to pick this novella up. Even if novella's harsh on your chill a little, still get it. It's worth every penny. And you are going to want every book in this series. Guaranteed. Take Me If You Dare is a quick and steamy novella in which Jasmine Stewart is dared by her best friend to have a one-night stand with someone while she’s on a business trip in Miami. She ends up at a bar where she’s forced to listen to cheesy come-ons until a very hot former soldier named Ethan rescues her, and she ends up fulfilling that dare with him. Jasmine doesn’t think she’ll see Ethan again until her company ends up assigning her to the military security firm that he happens to work for. That one-night stand with Ethan could quickly turn into more if only she would let her heart open up to it.
Whenever I read a novella, it sometimes can be a hit-and-miss with me because there aren’t enough pages to really get to know the characters. Unfortunately, I always crave more. This was the case with Take Me If You Dare, but I still enjoyed it. It just won’t be a favorite.
What I liked most was how Nina grabbed my attention from the beginning with Jasmine and Ethan and how he came to her rescue at the bar. The cheesy come-ons that poor Jasmine had to deal with, she definitely needed rescuing. I felt for her poor character, especially after realizing she had dealt with a horrible breakup with a guy who didn’t deserve her. Jasmine did drive me batty at times with how she handled things, mainly with Ethan.
I loved Ethan, though, because he immediately stole my heart in the bar scene with her. He’s the guy who is always there to help, and he does that a few times in this book with Jasmine, even though sometimes she gives him a hard time about it. He was such a sweetheart, and he deserved a happy ever after. So did Jasmine, but she definitely needed to realize that Ethan wasn’t her ex.
Overall, this steamy, fast-paced novella gets 3.5 stars from me. Even though I wish I had enjoyed it more, I’ll still recommend it to others. I do plan on reading (or, in this case, listening to) the next novella in the series because it’s Jasmine’s best friend’s book, and I’m curious what her dare will be like.

My favorite part of this book was the friendship Jasmine and Tabitha. Jasmine is in a funk and Tabitha dares her to have a one-night stand. Of course, one night becomes when Jasmine ends up working for the same company as Ethan. They end up in a relationship even though neither one will admit it. There were times that I wanted to shake them both.

Over the last year or so, I've been reading a lot of Entangled's Brazen line. They're the literary equivalent of comfort food - usually reasonably well-written and edited, with some sex (sometimes mildly kinky), generally likable people, and a story beats you can see coming from the other side of town. They are, mainly, three out of fives for me - I'm not sorry I spent the $0.99 - $2.99 to get a version for my Kindle, I enjoy them when I read them, and then I'm done.
Nina Crespo's "Birthday Dare" series slots comfortably into this description - especially this first book with its ex-military hero and recently broken-up from a scumbag cheating fiancé heroine.
Health Insurance Provider Jasmine, dared by her BFF Tabitha to have a one-night stand in Miami on her birthday while at a conference, is rescued from a slimy pick-up type by retired Special Forces soldier turned Military Contractor Ethan, who happens to be playing wingman to his buddy Mitch - who hardly seems to need the help! After a bit of flirting and a little steamy kissing Jasmine admits to the titular "Birthday Dare" - which Ethan, perceptive enough to pick up on her doing this because she's on the rebound, agrees to if she'll have dinner with him first. He cooks dinner, she bring dessert, they have mindblowing sex - he even brings her coffee the next morning before going for a run and promises breakfast. So naturally - she's so insecure about men given how her last relationship went that she sneaks out before he returns!
She's at the airport when her boss calls her, and says the backstabbing boss's niece who took over her job (which she'd quit to move in with her no-good cheating fiancé - so she's working her way back up the ladder again) screwed up a presentation to major military contracting firm Bode-Wynn, and could she please rescue it at the last minute? She manages to (barely) save the deal, largely by impressing the company's CEO Andrew Bode who insists she stick around and take point on the details, even putting her up at the company's apartment complex....

I liked the book. It wasn’t my favorite story per se as I am more of a fantasy romance person myself, but as a contemporary romance I thought it was good and well written. If you’re looking for spice it’s definitely here, so if not be warned. I think the story was also written in a way that you could relate to book main characters’ wins and flaws.

Jasmine is used to dares. Her and her best friend have been daring each other to do crazy things ever since they were little. Jasmine gets her ultimate dare while on her business trip. Her birthday also falls on this trip to Miami, so her friend dares Jasmine to have a one-night stand.
So as Jasmine is having a few drinks in her hotel bar, the chances of her hooking up with any of the ridiculous men circling her like vultures are very slim. When one of these said vultures doesn’t know the meaning of no, a former soldier,Ethan, comes to her rescue. After a good and hot dance things between quickly escalate, bringing them together in a hotel room where they burn up the sheets. But in fear of making this one night stand more than it is, Jasmine runs.
Jasmine and Ethan never thought they’d see each other again until fate steps in. Jasmine has a job to convince Ethan’s boss to use Jasmine’s company. So when Jasmine has to stay in town and they ultimately run into each other again.
When things go from professional to intimate things begin to change. They spend all their free time together and begin to get into a routine. With Jasmine’s fear of another long distance relationship (her ex-boyfriend cheated on her from long distance) she doesn’t want things with Ethan to become serious because she couldn’t deal with her and Ethan living in two different places.
What will happen when Ethan wants more? Will Jasmine run or will she stay and fight? Buy the book and find out! I recommend this book to anyone who likes Entangled books, this is a book for you. The book didn’t feel like a novella, there was so much content and nothing felt rushed. This story is about cheating assholes, professionalism vs. unprofessionalism, lust, and an uncontrollable, crazy, magical love that neither Ethan or Jasmine saw coming.

So this was a fun one. Novella length and I wanted MORE! I adored Ethan. Jasmine…well she is another female character that kind of frustrated me. There is the back and forth. The whole, I’ve been hurt before, so I’m going to hold you at arms length. I’ll admit, she has some pretty heavy baggage to deal with- her ex cheated on her during a long distance relationship. Although Jasmine’s…relationship or whatever starts with an intended one night stand with Ethan, in the back of her mind she knows being with Ethan would involve a long distance relationship at times. So, I can understand why she would be hesitant to give into her feelings for Ethan. I think maybe, personally, I’m just a bit over the whole, I’ve got issues/going back forth trope.
Ms. Crespo is a new author to me and I really enjoyed her writing style and even though this is a Brazen (which usually tends to have a pretty heavy physical relationship component) she did a really great job of developing Jasmine and Ethan’s relationship/connection OUTSIDE of the bedroom. I was a little sad by the ending, I’m a sucker for a prologue and I always want to know how a couple is doing 6 months or so down the road. Especially since Jasmine and Ethan will be in a long distance relationship at times. That is a hot button issue for her…how is she handling it? (But’s that just me….wanting more, more, more ;) If I didn’t like the book or care about the couple, I would not want to know more. I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for more from this author.

What I love
The characters: I love Jasmine's character because she is a strong woman that didn't need to depend on anyone. I also love Ethan's character because he eventually decided that once he wanted Jasmine, he did what he needed to do to make it happen.
The story: There were parts of this story that made me angry because I hate seeing people being mistreated. I didn't like some of the characters, but there was enough of Jasmine and Ethan that made up for the things that I didn't like about the story. I did enjoy when Jasmine realized that she should do better than the job she was working at and decided to pursue that!

Okay, this book is emotional and sexy.
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Except that it's not too emotional nor sexy. It was just right.
Everything screamed the usual thing with a fine twist. The best kind of fine.

How much are you willing to risk in the name of love?
The main characters are both broken and scared, with reasonable reasons, and then their lives just took a twist when they met each other.
Leaving and being left.
I told you, it's not like you haven't read this kind of story before: Both broken and cautious, then learning that some things are worth the risk, and that some people needs to leave to give space for something more worth it.

After a bunch of losers proposition her, Jasmine gets saved by Ethan Worth and they end up having a night of great sex. Then Jasmine ducks out, knowing she'll never see him again. Until she does - the next day! Her employer has sent her on an assignment at the same place Ethan works. This was a short and sexy story and I enjoyed it!

Jasmine may have annoyed me a tad bit in this book, but her choices always had entertaining consequences. Her heart wasn’t into the one-night stand idea, but then she met Ethan and she was on board and ready to go. However, she was determined to keep it just pleasure, but then it became business and things were a little awkward! I think these two were perfect for each other and I am glad that they finally got it all sorted out - mainly, Jasmine started listening to her heart and not her head which was hell-bent on complicating everything!

It was sooo good. Fast paced, loved both characters. I felt bad for Ethan putting himself out there and Jasmine shut it down twice because of her fears and her past with her ex. I don't know if I would have been able to let go of Ethan in the manner that she did it. He was truly a good guy. Liked the ending, but wanted a bit more, maybe an Epilogue to find out more about Jasmine and Ethan. Look forward to reading more books by Nina Crespo.

Loved the book couldn't put it down. The romance between the two characters was Hot. Who knew a dare could be that good. The events that took place had me on the edge of my seat. It was a good story starting out with just some fun that turned into romance. Recommend to anyone who wants a hot erotic romance.

Ooo I really enjoyed this story because the heroine keeps challenging him and well he can't ignore it. The characters chemistry is explosive and when they finally give in no one comes out unscratched. *wink*
Even thought its a quick paced story I felt like I got the full story.

This is categorized as a short, but it read as a full length book. I read it in just a few hours. I loved the characters, and there were some spicy love scenes! I look forward to reading more books from this author.
