The Cosmic War: Interplanetary Warfare, Modern Physics, and Ancient Texts

Rate this book
The full history of the Exploded Planet hypothesis. There is ample evidence across our solar system of cataclysmic and catastrophic destruction events, and many planets are scarred from incredible impacts, and teeter in their orbits from unexplained causes. Rejecting naturalist and materialist assumptions of catastrophism forwarded by other researchers, Farrell seriously asserts that the causes are based in ancient myths of a Cosmic War in the heavens. Incorporating extraterrestrial artifacts, cutting-edge ideas in contemporary physics, and the texts of ancient myths into his argument, Farrell maintains that an ancient interplanetary war was fought in our own solar system with weapons of extraordinary power and sophistication.
secret technology behind the ancient Tablets of Destinies. the ancient texts telling of such from Sumeria (Tiamats destruction by Marduk), Egypt (Edfu and the Mars connections), Greece (Saturns role in the War of the Titans) and the ancient Americas * ancient and current mechanisms which could explode planets * the true scientific reason for our solar system's asteroid belt

The hypothesis that this book presents won't catch on any time soon since it reaches so far beyond the borders of what most people are used to believing about history, but new things are being discovered elsewhere in this solar system that are being tied together effectively with things said by ancient writings. I started reading Farrell's research on the recommendation of Richard Hoagland and both authors have provided different puzzle pieces to the same picture effectively. A great many things have been discovered that workable explanations for are not forthcoming from most scientists (xenon 129 in the Martian atmosphere, the Valles Marinieris, the faceted shape of Iapetus, etc.) but clues to their origin that the open minded will find hard to ignore are found in this book.

The Cosmic War dissects a broad scope of theories relating to an alternate history of Earth. The theories presented are plausible in many regards but others will find them, perhaps ridiculous. This brings up the inevitable question or the readership of this book.

Basically, if your are not open to any other theories other than mainstream then this is not the book for you. It will play out like a wild fictitious tale of ancient war and subtofuge, wildly imaginative and maybe fun to the reader. If however you are open to the less well known or less established theories as to the ancient history of our planet then this book is a great read.

It presents ideas on the asteroid belt in our solar system and explains the idea that this was once a planet destroyed in an ancient war with very powerful weapons, more destructive than the combined forces of most Cinematic galactic armies. Aside from that, plenty more theories are presented but as stated, you would need an interest in history and be open minded. You may also want to brush up on science if you are to fully appreciated this book.

Whilst not an academic masterpiece it is utterly absorbing in my opinion. I am one of those people who prefer to take in all angles of ideas to get the picture of what's around us. This book certainly fed my curiosity.

Oxford educated researcher Dr. Joseph P. Farrell unleashes a reverberating hypothesis regarding ancient history whose echoes will be forever heard.

Cosmic War - Interplanetary Warfare, Modern Physics & Ancient Texts by Dr. Joseph P. Farrell is an extremely intriguing incursion into the possibility of a very ancient war in high antiquity.

Dr. Farrell's hypotheses of an Ancient Interplanetary War is argued in an in-depth, precise and reasonable approach. The extensive evidence Farrell collates and synthesizes in this particular book will leave the reader aghast with the possibilities.

Intriguingly enough, many ancient cultures stated that the 'Wars of the Gods' were quite real. Predictably, even though there's extensive evidence for advanced physics, advanced weapons, ancient [millions and BILLIONS of year old artifacts found by reputable sources], the establishment has painted all over ancient history with myth.

Regarding this very issue, Jim Marrs in his book Our Occulted History, sets his cross hairs on this very issue:

"The term mythology stems from the Greek word mythos, simply meaning words or stories reflecting the basic values and attitudes of people. In past ages, when the vast majority of humans were illiterate, easily understood parables were used to educate people about history, science, and technology. During the Dark Ages, when most of people were taught that the Earth was flat, the word mythology was changed by the Roman Church to mean imaginative and fanciful tales veering far from truthfulness. This small change in semantics has caused untold damage in current perceptions."[1]

Ironically enough, there is starting to be more and more evidence of 'myths' now turning out to be fact.

As Chris Hardy Ph.D remarks in her poignant book DNA Of The Gods:

"...let's remember that, before the discoveries of loads of ancient tablets written in the pictographic Sumerian language (Late Uruk period, fourth millennium BCE), the kingdom of Sumer was believed to be a myth. We had already discovered Akkad and deciphered Akkadian, and still archaeologists wouldn't give credence to the numerous carved references, within historical dated records, to a line of kings whose title was "King of Sumer and Akkad".[2][3]

Or how about the "myth" of Troy:

"This myth collapsed in 1865 with archeologist Frank Calvet's discovery of the historic ruins of not only one city of Troy but nine layers of it! The city, whose siege is recounted in Homer's Iliad, is only Troy VII, the seventh level underground, dating to the thirteenth century BCE."[4]

And notwithstanding:

"...according to geologist Robert Schoch, who, in 1990, worked with the renowned pioneer Egyptologist John Anthony West, the vertical erosion of the Sphinx was due to heavy and extensive rainfall that happened in the region between 10,000 and 5,000 BCE, thus dating the Sphinx's construction to at least 7,000 to 8,000 years ago ) according to Schoch's conservative estimate). What was the reaction of conventional archaeologists? Here is one: Zahi Hawass, Director General of Giza, was asked in an interview on the PBS series NOVA if it was possible that a more ancient civilization might have built the pyramids and sculpted the Sphinx. Hawass replied: "Of course it is not possible for one reason...No single artifact, no single inscription, or pottery, or anything has been found until now, in any place to predate the Egyptian civilization more than 5,000 years ago."[5]

That last passage in particular showcases the inherent dogma that we as a society have had to deal with.

The gatekeepers, for many reasons, want to keep established history in a nice little box. Fortunately, as anyone who has extensively research these topics know, there's more than ample evidence that shows that at minimum history isn't what we have been told.

In any case, Cosmic War covers wide ranging but pertinent topics such as Van Flandern's exploded planet hypothesis, an analysis of plasma in relation to weapons that employ scalar physics, petroglyphs which show plasma instability glyphs that were recorded by ancient cultures, remnants of giants in ancient history, optical phase conjugation, the story of the 'gods' as related through ancient texts, pulsars, generational charts of the 'gods', the scarring of The Valles Mariners being possibly from a weapon, Iapetus and its hexagonal craters, and a LOT more.

The ramifications of this book abound, and filter in all aspects of our lives. Dr. Farrell gives is more reasons [coupled with countless others in his other trenchant books] as to why we need to give history, particularly ancient history, a very long and thorough look.

In its totality, this book is a veritable fountain of information that is scholarly in precision, and thought-provoking in its ramifications. This book is a must read for anyone interested in ancient history, ancient civilizations, and any of the topics there in. There is more than enough information to make the reader curious about our past in more ways than they can really imagine.

Joseph P. Farrell at one point in time was an Orthodox Christian who used his scholarly talents to write some of the greatest, modern, theological expositions in the history of the Church.
Somewhere down the road of his life, he lost his faith in the Church, and left to delve ever deeper into hermeticism, alternative science, mythology as history, and the underpinnings of elite power structures throughout human history.
While, personally, I would love to see Mr. Farrell return to the Church, I have to admit I am utterly fascinated by the research he has dug up and the threads that he connects. While I cannot say that I entirely agree with his conclusions in his writings, his books are always compelling reading.
The Cosmic War, to succinctly as I can put it, is a treatise on mythology as a representation of a long lost past. Farrell does a very good job of backing up his case with science, with anthropology and archaeology, and when he can visual evidence as well (namely artifacts that cannot possibly be explained that were dug up in sediment layers belonging to a past far older than we assumed possible).
While my own thoughts on the evidence draw different conclusions (possibly, Farrell does hold at least some of his cards close to his chest), I still found this a very fascinating read. The mythologies of the wars of the gods, which permeate every major human culture, and are far too similar to not be a shared mythology (that Farrell believes points to a shared human civilization pre Babel period), seem to be a retelling of the Biblical War in Heaven and the fall of Lucifer and his angelic hosts.
Very compelling read, though be warned, some of the science in this work gets pretty thick and if you aren't at least mildly familiar with physics and wave resonance, you will be lost for a couple of the chapters.
Despite this, I found this to be a very enjoyable read.
Mr. Farrell will make my reading list again in the future.

Ferrell's "cosmic war" hypothesis presents evidence suggesting that the asteroid belt may have actually been a planet roughly the size of Saturn called "Tiamat", before it was completely destroyed.

Disputing catatrophisits: Van Flandern, and Velikovsky, Ferrell presents evidence of an intelligent civilization with capable scalar physics and the weaponization of that physics to explode local celestial bodies.

In The Cosmic War, Ferrell examines dozens of mythical texts that all roughly deal with this cosmic war scenario. The Babylonian creation epic: Enuma Elish, The biblical myth, Hindu texts, and the Egyptian book of the dead are examined here.

Also, the question of who is man, who created man, and was the creator one of the "good" guys or "bad" guys. This book will undoubtedly be unsettling for many closed minded Western Christians to examine. In my opinion, a new "modern" view should be looked at concerning these ancient texts, especially from a physics point of view.

It is my belief, that the powers that be who operate behind the scenes, know all too well the origins of man, the origins of evil, and the core to all religious doctrine pertaining to man.

To put it bluntly, the shit is about to hit the cosmic fan once again, if mankind doesn't start asking important questions and open his mind.

Another good effort by Joseph Farrell to shore up the theory of ancient war in the heavens between gods for control of the Pantheon – a civil war. Time again it is stressed that ancient civilizations – Egyptian, Greek, American Indian (Inca, Maya, Hopi, etc.), Norse, Vedic Indian, Sumerian and others recount the tale of the war of gods, fought to retrieve some stolen stuff (technology)resulting in destruction of worlds and a few survivors escaping to other islands (planets) to re-establish civilization.

Destruction of whole worlds, brings up another astronomical anomaly, a vast gap between the last solid rocky planet Mars and the first gas giant Jupiter which could very well have accommodated a Saturn sized solid rocky planet or another gas giant the size of Jupiter. Reference is made to the Sumerian Myth of the war between God Marduk, the rulers of gods, and Goddess Tiamat, in which divine weapons of light, sound and winds are used in the ultimate destruction of Tiamat (which means Primordial Waters) and recovery of the Tablets of Destinies.

Bringing in Van Flander’s Exploded Planet Hypotheses and the ages in the Sumerian List of Kings, the event of the destruction of Tiamat / Krypton happened about 3,200,000 years ago and were viewed by intelligent humans or humanoids. This destruction resulted in the scarring of Mars, especially its Southern Hemisphere, our Moon and some of the moons of Jupiter / Saturn. The exploded planet was a Saturn sized rocky water bearing planet, and hence capable of supporting intelligent life forms – the higher gravity making these beings heavier – giants – in our view, some of whom escaped to Earth and inter-bred with daughters of men (OT- Genesis 6). The stories of women of Earth bearing children of god – Heracles in Greek Mythology, the Pandavas – sons of Kunti / Madri through various gods in Mahabharata,- even Jesus for Mary conceived him through the Spirit of God and not by any man, etc.

The book explains concepts of scalar and quantum physics that would enable scarring of entire worlds over vast distances. The effects of plasma power would create auroras, which our ancient ancestors viewed in the skies for many a months during the destruction Tiamat 3,200,000 years ago else how could the weapons of gods have similar shapes in civilization as varying as Norse – Spears of Odin, Sumerian – Bolts of Ninurta, Vedic – Vajra of Indra, Greek – Thunderbolts of Zeus and so on?

The Chapter “THE ANTIQUITY OF MAN…OR OF WHOMEVER” starts with the following quote Michael .A. Cremo’s “THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF HUMAN RACE” : “From the Vedic literature, we derive the idea that the human race is of great antiquity. For the purpose of conducting systematic research into the existing scientific literature on human antiquity, we expressed the Vedic idea in the form of a theory that various humanlike and apelike beings have coexisted for long periods of time.” And proceeds to enumerate various anomalous discovery of intelligent human / humanoid ancestors dating back to 2,800,000,000 years (i.e. 2.8 bllions – with a ‘b’) old metallic sphere found in today’s the Transvaal, South Africa through 65,00,000 years, when the Dinosaurs went extinct to a small copper polygonal coin found in Illinois, “covered with strange markings and an unidentifiable figure, its inscriptions were in no recognizable language, and most importantly, since it was of uniform thickness, the conclusion is that it must have ‘passed through a rolling-mill’” The Illinois State Geological Survey’s estimates for the age of deposits at the 114 foot level was that they were formed at the “Yarmouthian Interglacial ‘sometime between 200,000 and 400,000 years ago”, which flies in the face of standard models of blinkered modern science in any number of ways, from the existence of such technology, to the fact that Homo sapiens sapiens is not believed to have lived “much earlier than 100,000 years ago,” to the fact that metal coins were thought to be used only after the eighth century BC in Asia Minor.

The book is perfect for the so called rational scientist to criticize as a pseudo scientific book – HOMO SAPIENS SAPIENS COULD NOT HAVE LIVED EARLIER THAN 100,000 YEARS MAYBE 125,000 YEARS AND HE CEASED BEING NOMADIC ONLY 10,000 TO 12,000 YEARS AGO – evidence be damned. Any other interpretation of the antiquity of Homo Sapiens is either sheer legend and misinterpreted or an out right hoax. Our High Priest Charles Darwin cannot be wrong – these rational scientists are no different from the various cult followers of ancient civilizations who they term ignorant, superstitious and credulous.

Very well presented and narrated – this was my first book of Joseph P. Farrell, and now I am a big fan of his and intend to read a number of his books.

That must be one of the most original and creative books on the whole Ancient Alien Theory lore, I am nearly sure it did not happen this way, and the author is so positive that was this way that I felt quite shocked really. I strongly disagree with several instances of the book, but still an interesting out-take. I give the interpretation of Enuma Elish as an example, the author understands it as a description of a scalar wave device being deployed against a planet, I think it is too much of an interpretation, that could be really far away from reality.
But the fascinating thing is that if you take all that is proposed, some of it makes some sense, and some of it did ring very true to me, more than the works that inspired all of this literature, the work of Zechariah Sitchin, who also has interesting propositions but some of them are just too far from the truth if you do read speculative books where some of it may be right and some may be wrong but makes an interesting proposition if you like AAT, then you must buy this book, it is an incredible read.

I have read The Cosmic War: Interplanetary Warfare, Modern Physics, and Ancient Texts by Joseph P. Farrell twice. Not because I failed to grasp its content, but because it is so intellectually compelling and provocative that it leaves me with more questions than answers—100 questions for every revelation it offers. Few books, as my regular readers will attest, inspire such a reaction in me. To Mr. Farrell, I tip my hat. This work is a masterful blend of scholarship and speculation, offering a singular contribution to alternative literature and demanding both respect and further contemplation.

Building on Tom Van Flandern's Exploded Planet Hypothesis and a few other books (this is what Farrell does best: synthesizing the contents of several books), Joseph Farrell explores the possibility that ancient legends record a ... well, cosmic war, I guess you call it ... in which not one but two planets were destroyed a la the Death Star. Some of his deductions look a bit strange and maybe far-fetched, but Farrell provides a wild ride in any case.
