Beginning readers will be fascinated by the photos and short text descriptions of very small animals found in our world. From the fully grown dwarf slot that is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand to a frog recently discovered in Papua New Guinea and small enough to perch comfortably in the middle of a thin dime to pygmy goats, munchkin size felines, and the world's tiniest dog, Millie, a Chihuahua that weighs only one pound. Yes, seeing is believing, and these are itsy, bitsy (and adorable) creatures found in the natural world. Seeing them makes me wonder how they've managed to survive and what sort of health risks they must navigate. Young readers will probably not care about any of that, but gasp in amazement at the photographs.

Kids can be such fact hounds and this one is sure to generate a ton of "Aw!" Adorably tiny animals pictured along side of a short text box describing the animal in a short, easily understood paragraph.
