4 WOW – Pins and needles Stars

I’m starting to really like this series. The series starts a bit rocky, but The Distraction, totally blew me away.

First off, I’ve been in a suspenseful kick lately, so I really enjoyed that element in the book. I also like that this was just about Alec and Anna.

The Distraction is a true romance story

The Distraction picks up where The Masseuse left off. Its three months later and Alec is coming home from prison. I really enjoyed the beginning. I thought it was cute reading Anna’s internal dialogue. She’s really nervous about Alec coming back and she wants everything to be perfect for him.

The separation is nonexistent and I love that. I can’t stand it when the main characters are broken up in the second book of the series.

Usually book two in series are filler books, but I didn’t get that with this one. From start to finish, it was just about Alec and Anna. I really connected to the characters and I understood their frustrations.

Alec and Anna care for each other so much, but there are so many obstacles in the way.

I don’t know everything about you, Anna. But if you give me time, I will

Everything in my life comes back to you. And if you think I give a damn about what anyone else thinks then you’re wrong.

Alec needs to testify in trial, but the threat of Alec being hunted down lingers in the background of the story. Anna is soon becoming a target based on her relationship with Alec.

I completely enjoyed it! Oh the chase, the hunt, the villains! I tell you, I love me some villains, the nastier the better and Sierra Kincade didn’t disappoint. Oh and the steam is amazing.

Throughout everything, the story goes back to the main focus, Alec and Anna. I love the relationship between Alec and Anna because they have the perfect balance of tension and passion.

Its new to me … Feeling like I deserve it like I deserve you. It’s such a big feeling, sometimes I don’t know what to do with it.

… with you, the one thing that feels safest is the one thing that scares me the most.

The Distraction is a great follow-up to The Masseuse. It’s completely polished, it kept me on my toes and I fell in love with Anna and Alec a little bit more.

I can’t wait for the next book.

I hate you Sierra Kincade. I really do. I hate you for making me love these characters and then leaving me with all the feelings in this second book.

The Masseuse introduced us to Anna and Alec… they can only be described as combustible together… I mean the chemistry between these two is ridiculous. But Alec was paying the price for his involvement in some shady things in book 1 and Anna is left to figure out where they stand when he gets home.

Anna has started to make a new life for herself in Alec’s absence but he’s never far from her thoughts. She hopes that he’ll like the changes he’s made to the apartment and the connection she’s made with his father and his own actions and bravery have pushed her to make some changes for herself as well. She’s now got a job that she’s always wanted… one that can make a difference and help people.

The three months Alec has spent away from Anna have been torture, and seeing her for the first time proves that his hunger for her hasn’t subsided in the least. But one realization he has come to is that if he has to give her up to keep her safe, he will. It will kill him (and me) but he will.

The thing about these books that has me completely hooked is the intense passion between Anna and Alec. These two are just amazing together and Kincade completely gets you invested in not only their love story, but all the things that are happening around them. Things are definitely not smooth sailing upon Alec’s return. There is some awkwardness and tip-toeing around each other… three months apart will do that to you I suppose, but once they finally find that connection again it’s game on, and I found it hard to put this book down.

It was amazing to see Anna bloom in this book. The Masseuse was really about building the relationship and connection between Alec and Anna for me, and in The Distraction, we get to see Anna become someone she’s always wanted to be. She’s working with kids who need her help, and she’s creating friendships and bonding with people who she can count on and that’s a wonderful part of the story.

But there’s also a bit of a mystery and some suspense to this installment as well. Alec’s past is still affecting their lives in ways these two could never, ever have imagined.

And Alec... good lord this guy. I know some people may think he's too alpha, but honestly he was the exact right mix for me. I loved his bossy side, but he also reveals a bit of a soft side that just endeared him even more to me.

If you’re looking for an amazing new voice in erotic romance, then you definitely will need to pick up this series. With steamy sex, an intriguing story, and amazing characters that will have you turning characters to learn more, The Body Works Trilogy is among my favorites in the erotic romance genre.
The Distraction arrives in February, and when you finish, come find me, we’ll commiserate together over everything! The Confession seriously can’t arrive fast enough!

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This series is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. I’m putting it up there with Crossfire and the Driven Trilogy. Which is perhaps one of the greatest compliments I feel I can give any series. So there. I said it. It’s as Good As Gideon.

Saying that I was looking forward to the release of this book is a bit of an understatement. My level of emotional investment in these characters is a little embarrassing and I was a bit like a kid on Christmas on release day.

The Distraction picks up with Anna and Alec right as Alec is released from his three month stint in prison. While Alec’s been away Anna has attempted to live her life – she’s made a couple of friends, she’s joined a gym, she’s volunteering and she’s trying to get out more. So when Alec suddenly appears back in her life there’s a bit of an….adjustment. I loved that I could feel the awkwardness and attraction seep off the pages even as I hated the awkwardness. I wanted Anna to stop word vomiting and start making better use of her mouth. But they get there – and it’s so worth it.

Even though Alec’s out of prison he isn’t completely free. Now he has a parole officer that he has to check in with frequently. He’s a convicted felon, so that’s an issue. He doesn’t have a job, and THEN we discover that there’s someone out there trying to kill him, and thus, kill Anna. SO MUCH DRAMA.

And it’s so so good.

I know there’s always a fear that the second novel in a trilogy won’t be as good as the first – but trust me when I tell you that this is great. I connected with these characters and I continued to fall in love with each one as I got to know them better. Even though it’s all about Alec & Anna – we still get to learn more about the Mike and Amy (and I’m crossing my fingers for more about those two in the future…#JUSTSAYIN). We also get to follow Anna as she begins her volunteer gig with CASA – which FYI is a real organization that exists in real life and is an incredibly important program. The feelings are so real in this series that I don’t know how you don’t become emotionally involved.

And the action in this book – GOOD GOD. There’s action of every variety imaginable – *waggles eyebrows*. I may have declared that I wanted to be whisked away to witness protection. There’s stripping and dancing and searing kisses and hot, sweet, dirty, fantastic sex. Seriously hot. It’s a give-your-man-the-as-soon-as-this-chapter-is-finished-let’s-go-look HOT.

There’s also a lot of actual action in the plot too. Which is one of the reasons I have fallen in love with Sierra’s writing. Not only does she give us the heat we’re craving, but she also gives us a real plot. THANKYOU.

However, let’s talk about the ending for a second, shall we? The I-almost-jumped-off-of-the-cliff-that-was-left-for-me ending. This cliffhanger slightly gutted me. I sort of told Sierra that I was no longer speaking with her after finishing this book. SorryNotSorry. My heart was a bit ripped up and I WAS SENSITIVE. I can’t be held responsible for my words at midnight after an ending like that. Sheesh.

I’m holding out that The Confession cures all…soon. it comes out soon….right?! Fuck, it doesn’t come out soon enough. Now I need a distraction…(ha. i’m hilarious). Love this series!! #MustRead

I would say that if any couple I've read about could be described as combustible, it's Alec and Anna. Chemistry... well, that would put what these two have to shame. And with the connection that this couple has with one another, you want nothing more than to see them happy and settled together. Sadly, it seems that Sierra Kincade is determined to kill me slowly and make me wait for their happy. The Distraction sent me wildly shifting from fist pumping to panty adjusting to tear wiping. Ah - my kind of book.

It's been three months since Alec has seen Anna. During that time, Anna has taken steps to better herself and to make things ready for when Alec returns. Despite their intense connection, when he does show up again, things are awkward and tense. Getting to know one another again and even better than before is hard, but love like they have can't be contained forever. Unfortunately, Alec is still playing a dangerous game and keeping lots of secrets, both of which make forging a healthy relationship difficult. As Anna tries to manage her new career and her big feelings for Alec, she begins to lose herself a bit. Just as she decides he's worth any price, she's faced with a price that just may be too steep after all.

What would you do for love? What would you risk? It's an incredibly romantic notion to automatically assume that there is no price too great. Anna seems to be a woman of the world. I mean, with everything she went through in The Masseuse and all that she discovered through her association with Alec and his employer, it's understandable that she's a little jaded. And, yet, when it comes to Alec, her love and passion for him overtakes everything.

Alec has a lot of his plate. He's being pulled in so many different directions by so many different people. I felt so much for him in The Distraction. It's obvious that he wants nothing more than to just be... with Anna. She is his rock and safe place amidst the craziness in the rest of his life. She supports him, cares for him and loves him completely. And he is so protective of her. After the danger they've already experienced together, he wants her safe more than anything else. He's even willing to walk away to give that to her if need be.

You might think that the danger and subterfuge encountered in The Masseuse has passed, but in reality, it's only gotten started. Anna is constantly being put in danger, but no one is quite sure by whom. These two just can't catch a break! When they should be reacquainting, they instead are having their homes broken into, being followed on the street and attacked anywhere and everywhere. It sucks so much.

But, when they are together, holy crap are they TOGETHER. The passion and chemistry leaps off the page and nearly brings you to tears. These two are sexy and hot and they set my lady bits on fire. There is no shortage of sexy times in The Distraction.

Everything comes to a head at the end during a truly explosive and scary encounter. There are twist and turns that I never saw coming. And a finale that broke my heart. Thank goodness there is another book coming in this series, because now I need Sierra Kincade to put my heart back together.

The Distraction (The Body Works Trilogy Book # 2) - Sierra Kincade ( 5 STARS )

**Won some contest goodies & an ARC From Author for an Honest Review.**

OMG...Shady Parole Officers and Potential Break - Up issues Galore !!

Anna is a Masseuse who fell for a Handsome, Dominating guy with a Dangerous past. She only has to wait three months until Alec is released from his prison sentence .
She tries to keep herself distracted to ward off the nightmares of what Bobby did to her and keep out of trouble by leaning on old and New Friends for moral support . Something she rarely does.
She takes up volunteering for CASA as a special cases advocate for kids in the system and Even joins a Ballet Class, (Wink! Wink !)but Trouble seems to always be one step ahead of her.

Can Anna & Alec resume their Intense , Dangerous Relationship or has Anna's faith in Alec run out ?

Alec's been in prison for 3 months , but it seems like an eternity to him , because he was without the one thing he craves and would give everything up for & die to keep safe ...Anna!
It's heavy on Alec's mind that he should have pushed Anna away. Everything is about to get unimaginably worse before it gets better because of this trial and Anna and those she loves might be the ones who ultimately pay with their lives .

Will Alex be able to keep Anna safe, without leaving both their hearts Broken in two??

If you are like me you have already sunk your teeth into The First book in Sierra Kincade's The Body Works Trilogy.
If not I recommend you start off reading The Masseuse , you will fall in love with this couple instantly .

This part of the story is filled with Action & Adventure that will cause Whiplash, both in and out of the bedroom.
Suspense that will leave you biting your nails and looking over your shoulder at 3 in the morning .
Intense ,sensually Erotic scenes that will leave you breathless and wanting more.
Brutal Heartache and Emotional longing that makes you weep with gut wrenching sorrow for a romance that is hanging on a hope and a prayer.

I have fallen deeply for the Car Wreck that is Anna & Alec's relationship !
I will not believe that it could be the end for them. Even After that Cruel Teeth clenching Ending Sierra Left me with.
( I still love Ya Sierra !)
I refuse to give up on them after that Epilogue...they are Stronger than we believe them to be.
I will be biting my nails to the quick until Book # 3 in The Body Works Trilogy is released .

An absolutely INTOXICATING read! Full of so much intrigue and raw sexuality, The Distraction, book two in the amazing Body Works Trilogy, had me falling head over heals for these complex, beautiful characters. With such a nail-biting story line and some of the most intense sex scenes I have ever read, this series is becoming one of my all time favorites!

Anna's hero and lover is finally returning to her. Will he feel the same towards her? Will there still be that undeniable chemistry and lust between them? Will she still be welcome in his heart and his home? When Alec finally returns, things are a little awkward between them, but the intense connection, and the lustful gazes win out in the end, and the awkwardness floats away. These two imperfect, dysfunctional, beautiful characters unravel each other, and yet, they make each other whole. They are both each other's anchor and when one tries to pull away, they are pulled right back to one another. It's a wonderful and disastrous back and forth. Anna and Alec have this tumultuous passion that just strikes the heart every time.

And where there is intense passion, there is heart-pounding suspense. There are still dangers out there that neither of them can deny. When an enemy threatens close to home, Anna needs to decide how to move forward. Is love worth this kind of risk?

Now, with this being a trilogy, you know there is going to be a cliffhanger. This one isn't too harsh, but it did break my heart a little. Ms. Kincade did a FANTASTIC job of embedding these characters into our hearts and minds. I'm so eager for Anna and Alec's happily ever after, and I just know Sierra will give them one we will never forget.

Having your boyfriend in jail sucks. Just ask Anna Rossi. She's been counting down the days until Alec Flynn is released and she's not very patient. But when Alec is released, Anna doesn't count on the awkwardness that follows them around. Add in the danger of such a high profile case and you have a very emotional roller coaster of a ride.

I definitely enjoyed this installment more than the first. And I think that was mostly in part to Anna. She grew as a character in this book and became more mature and more self-sufficient.

Alec to me was still very stiff and lacking any real type of personality. Maybe it was because we don't see a lot of him, but he was very bland and their chemistry beyond sexual is very hard to see.

What I really enjoyed were the side stories. I loved the parts with Mike and his daughter and Anna's best friend and her daughter. I really want to know more about them and watch their relationship grow because, come on, we all know where that's going.

Also, the author does really well with writing believable crime drama. Most of the books I've read, writers take liberties relating to crime involvement and it ends up taking me out of the story because of it's absurdity. But Kincade wrote situations that, although extremely dramatic, weren't completely unbelievable.

I really enjoy Kincade's writing style and I felt like it grew in this book right along with her characters. She does love to end her books on a little of a clifhanger, so I am definitely looking forward to reading the next, and last, installment.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher for my honest opinion and review.

What the WHAT!!! OMG that end. I'm pretty sure that Sierra Kincade is slightly evil.

The Distraction by Sierra Kincade is the second book in The Body Works trilogy and if you haven’t started this one yet, you are definitely missing out! It has two great (read: not perfect) characters, some mystery, and a lot of the sexy/swoony stuff. If you haven’t read book one, The Masseuse, stop here because I can’t promise that there won’t be spoilers.

If you recall Alec has been gone for a while and Anna has been anxiously been waiting for him to return. He surprisingly shows up on her (actually his) doorstep and things start to get crazy for Anna. Maxim Stein’s trial is pending and since Alec is a key witness, life for Alec and now Anna is becoming very dangerous.

As Alec and Anna try to stay out of danger, they are also trying to figure out how to have a relationship and that is probably one of the harder things for both of these characters as neither of them has been very successful at making them work. I loved seeing them try to figure it out and although it isn’t perfect, they still try to fight for what they want. I never questioned how much these two cared for each other and I think that is what makes me love them both.

I can’t really say much about what happens in this book – mostly because I don’t want to give anything away. There is definitely a killer ending on this book and I believe that Sierra Kincade might be slightly evil….It’s just a theory but I have evidence.

So read away everyone – this is a great adult series that will have you turning the pages to see what happens next for these characters!

This was a DNF for me. I may go back to it at another time. I really liked the first book. It was not what I expected. The issue for me with book 2 is that too much time is spent with Anna and Alec trying to reconnect after 3 months apart, that there was no storyline at 37% when I stopped. It took me a week to get that far so I had to put it down. I could tell that there was something that was going to happen with Trevor but wish it had been sooner.

So this book was just as good as the first. Great smut and the plot continued right where The Masseuse left off. Towards the end I started seriously side eyeing the FBI agents assigned to Alec and I'm sorry to say Anna as well. I'm not mad at how this book ended one bit. There's only so much shit Anna could take no matter how good the orgasms were.

4 Distracted Stars!!!

Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy of Berkley Trade/Penguin Group

When I first read The Masseuse I liked it but didn't love it, as Anna drove me a bit batty with her wishy washy ways and her constantly always running. But now in The Distraction, Anna's finally rooted and is staying put for once which gave her more strength. With this I finally started to like her more and more.

In the Masseuse, Anna falls in love for it only to be taken away when Alec has to go to jail. Now three months later and he's finally released causing quite the reunion between the two. What these two do well is sex but at times there relationship was more sex than substance. They spend more time apart then actually together, but when they're together they burn up the sheets. Which is great for reading but for their relationship it leaves it vulnerable.

"So, we're both dysfunctional. Great."

Alec and Anna both have their own issues. Which is already trying on any relationship, now add the lack of support from friends, new stalkers, loads of threats, looming court dates, the police, the FBI which takes their shaky relationship on a very bumpy ride.

The main constant is Alec's love which was never doubted from me, but Anna is a different story.

"You are my life. If I lose you none if this was worth it."

"You've been saving me since the day I met you."

For both of them to do the right thing causes many things to be at risk. Is the risk worth the pain and discomfort? Anna's finding her way back to herself and growing stronger but just as I was really getting into Anna and their love story. BOOM! More drama which causes them to once again separate and leave a pseudo cliffhanger. Argh!!!!

I need to find out NOW if they work out and all this shit can be left behind. This shit storm that they are wading through is bringing so many other variables to the surface with their, jobs, friends and families that all hell is breaking loose causing tons of heartache and more suspense for this feisty duo.

The Distraction took me on a roller coaster ride of epic proportions. One minute I'm rooting for Alec and Anna and the next I'm yelling at Anna to run in the opposite direction. Seriously, what have you done to me Sierra Kincade? Never have I been so confused as to how I wanted the story to play out in my entire life (except for maybe when it came to a certain Mr. Cross from another of my favorite series)... And now I have to sit here biting my nails to see if Alec and Anna can overcome all odds in the end. UGH!

The Distraction picks up a few months after The Masseuse ends... And seriously, if you hadn't read The Masseuse yet, you should get on that ASAP. Anna has been counting down the days until Alec gets home, only it's not all sunshine and rainbows when they're reunited for the first time. They're both a little unsure but once they come together... It's explosive!

Unfortunately there's so much danger surrounding Alec that he seems to be keeping Anna at arms length. Even though you can feel the love he has for her, he keeps so much from her to protect her that he kinda got on my nerves and I could only imagine how it made Anna feel. There was just so much back and forth that it made it hard for me to love him as much as I did in the first book.

Now Anna... You could definitely feel her growth in this one. She's been through so much yet she still did everything she could to stick by Alec's side and get him to lean on her. You could really feel her strength, especially when it came to Jacob, the little boy she's been working with through CASA, and Thomas, Alec's dad, and I can't help but love her.

I definitely feel that she did the right thing in the end. And the fact that Alec didn't even put up a fight?! UGH! What's wrong with men these days? I mean, I'm sure he gave her up to protect her, but it just seems like it was so easy to let her walk away. I guess we'll find out in the next book.

This book literally had it all. Suspense that had my heart racing, sexy times that had my heart racing for a completely different reason, love, heartbreak, angst, drama... You name it, The Distraction had it. And now May cannot get here soon enough!

Will Alec and Anna find their way back to each other? Will Max Stein get what he deserves? Will Alec become a billionaire? Ooh and is anything going to happen between Alec and Janelle while Anna is nursing her broken heart? So many questions that'll hopefully be answered in The Confession.

REVIEW:
God I love this trilogy so much! The Distraction is book two in Sierra Kincade's Body Work Trilogy and picks up where book one left off. This trilogy is an amazing erotic romance trilogy with great characters and a plot that hooks the reader. I love Alec and Anna so much! Their chemistry is explosive and their emotional journey throughout this trilogy has ups and down. I think I loved it so much because the author has a writing style that draws the reader into the characters lives and had me feeling what they were feeling. Sierra Kincade is an amazing new author and I can't wait for the final book in this trilogy to release later this year. I also hope she continues to write. She's on my must buy list and I'm now obsessed with her books. Go get these books now! I'll be begging for a sneak peek at book three I'm sure.

Part two of the triology about Anna and Alec. The previous book ended with Alec going to prison for 3 months in a plea deal and Anna having to manage to live without the man she loves with all her self doubts. The book were published in 2013, when the Obama Administration had managed to corrupt most of the government, but even with the partisan and inept Comey as head of FBI, there are enough rank and file G-men who would have made sure that Alec, their star witness would not have been put in prison, where he would have been shanked and that they would have put both of them in protective custody. That is the con part of the books. The romance between Anna and Alec, drama and danger that ensues against them and those they care about are the story that you will not want to put down.

This book was not long enough for me! I have never craved more of a story in my entire life !!!! (Yes, I know there’s a third book) As I was reading this, I caught myself slipping into an alternate reality! I envisioned multiple ways, that it could’ve gone differently. I cannot thank this author enough. Someone who finally gave characters passion, heroism, and vulnerability. I love the push and pull between them all. Although, like every girl, I do wish there wasn’t so much turmoil between Alec & Anna. BUT, that’s what makes it interesting everytime they touch, or speak to each other. Starting the 3rd book now, and I just know that it won’t disappoint me !!!

Ms. Kincade has a way with words. Even though this novel is categorized as contemporary romance, I would say it edges more on the erotic side. And although it is more erotic, it’s not like most erotic novels out there. There’s an actual story in there, and it’s great. There’s suspense, sadness, healing, and steaminess. You can tell that these two people need that physical connection often to say what they cant, and it’s different every time.

We enter just days before Alec comes home. Anna has been on her own for almost three months now, and she misses Alec like crazy. She’s still suffering from her attack and has many side effects from the trauma. But she tries to keep herself going as if things are fine. It isn’t until he’s back that her cracks begin to show, and outside sources begin to hammer away at all of those cracks again.

“‘Alec…’
‘You’re perfect to me.’
My heart clenched, just as the springs deep in my belly coiled tighter.
‘I saw it when you touched me. How much you needed to. It was…overwhelming.'”

Alec is finally back with Anna, and he feels incredible guilt for not being with her during her time of need. He already has self-worth issues and as outside sources keep interfering, those issues become huge gaps that are damn hard to miss. He’s very protective of her, and in the situation he’s forced to be in, he can’t be in control as he’d like and it wears on him. Two people who have childhood issues, with similar issues, who really don’t know how to be a couple, struggling to make it work, and everything on top of that wears things thin.

“‘When this is over, I will come home to you. I promise.'”

The second book in the trilogy does sort of explain things in such a way that if you hadn’t read the first book, you might just be able to get away with starting the second one, but I would recommend starting at the very beginning. It was very well written, incredibly sexy, and honest. The issues that Anna and Alec face are true to life in the situation they are in. The characters were real, and you could understand why they were the way they were or responded as they did. There was suspense, and action, and there wasn’t a dull moment. The sex is necessary, the relationship is still growing, and the outside dangers are still lurking. I need that third book now!

The first book in the Bodyworks Trilogy blew me away. Every ‘first in a trilogy’ rule was broken. I had almost all of the answers that I wanted and Alec and Anna were as happy as they were gonna get considering the circumstances. I have been desperate to read the next installment in the trilogy. And I The Distraction was just as well written and intriguing as the first book. Alec and Anna have some emotional and erotic moments together that were beautifully written (re: hot). What is it about dominant men and silk neckties? Yum.
Secondary characters played a bigger role in this book than the first where are focus was on Alec and Anna. Mike, Amy, Marcos and plenty of others play their roles in the madness that is life for Alec and Anna. I am especially hoping that we get to see some happiness for Amy before the trilogy concludes. She and Paisley deserve it after what they’ve been through. Alec’s former boss and bad guy, Max Stein, hasn’t gone to trial yet, but there is plenty of unpleasantness to keep things interesting in The Distraction. And things are far from being tied up in a neat little bow. I held my breath a lot while reading because I just knew that things were not as straight forward as they seemed. And I was right.
In fact, I am pretty peeved that Sierra left things the way that she did with this book. I am now past the point of being desperate for more. I NEED The Confession, like yesterday. I am so looking forward to how things play out for Alec and Anna. Sierra Kincade is truly a talented storyteller. I can honestly say that I have no idea what direction the third book will go in. I can’t even pinpoint the write questions to ponder while I wait. I just know that the wait will be worth it. Alec and Anna need their happy and I NEED to read it!

Hands down to Sierra Kincade for that ending! I like this book a lot, there was just something keeping me from loving it. As The Masseuse this story is a page turner. I couldn't put it down, I was desperate to know how everything was going to turned out. This story is definitely a roller-coaster of emotions, so many up and downs. So much mystery and action. I have to say that it keep me at the edge of my seat. I fell more in love with story and its complexity.

Anna and Alec are just meant for each other but when a lot of complicated things happen (and I do mean a LOT), the love they have for each other might not be enough to keep them together. Now, the chemistry between those two is off the charts. All those scenes were just too much to handle, in a good way. Although I found Alec a little to possessive for my taste in the first book, he grew up on me in this one. I found his feelings more real here and not just pure attraction. As for Anna, I found a little naive.

Overall I enjoyed the story a lot. They were times that I found it predictable but its just because I like to over analyze the situations. I hope Anna and Alec get pass all the issues that they have and find a way to finally be together without having to run for their lives. I am super excited about The Confession, I just want to see how the author is going to conclude this complex story. I wish I could say more about it but I just dont want to give anything away. If you are looking for a book with plenty of action, romance, sexy & steamy scenes and likable characters, this is definitely a story for you.

Oh goodness. Where do I even start? This book… this book gave me all the feels. If you haven’t read book one, The Masseuse, stop reading this now and go read it! You will not be disappointed. Especially after meeting super hot, super alpha, “neighborhood watch”, Alec.

Book two begins pretty much right where the first book ended. Alec is away, and Anna is trying to fill that void. When Alec comes home things are a bit rocky, but their intense physical connection fixes all the unspoken problems between them.

“You smell like sandalwood,” he said. “You bite your lip when you’re nervous.” His fingers moved slowly to my hip. “You think you’re afraid of being left because your mom fucked you up, but really you’re afraid of being the one who leaves. I know the sounds you make when I’m inside of you,” he said, stepping closer, and moving the towel out from between us. “And I know it tears me up when you cry. I don’t know everything about you, Anna. But if you give me time, I will."

CAN ALEC BE ANYMORE PERFECT?!

Basically, without giving too much information away, there are people that still want Alec dead. Alec is doing everything imaginable to keep Anna out of it, but things come up that could put everyone’s life in danger.

***

Once again this story was written so flawlessly. I was captivated in Alec and Anna’s story and I felt everything they felt. Alec is the perfect character. All too often I read books where the hero of the story has no idea what he wants. Alec knows exactly what he wants and it’s so refreshing to read. Anna is also a strong heroine. She is confident and brought the perfect amount of humor to the story. Also, just look at the cover. It's beautiful! I cannot wait until the 3rd and final book!

The Distraction is the second novel in Sierra's Body Works trilogy starring Anna and Alec. The beginning jumps ahead a few months in time from the ending of The Masseuse but we're informed throughout the novel of events during that time we missed while Alec was "away". Sierra is a suspense Queen! You never know if one of the sub-characters are who they say they are and she has you second guessing every decision made because of the possible repercussions of said choices. You feel like you're watching Anna's back for her. Some questions are answered but the plot thickens even further with this second installment. At the end of TD I yelled "Noooooooooo" because I do not want to wait until May to find out the dramatic conclusion in The Confession. I have a gut feeling Sierra is going to literally make something blow up in our faces. The "ifs" between Alec and Anna are mountain-sized, hot and cold moments are their playing fields...it seems there's no in-between for them. This gave me an extremely unsettled feeling, making my stomach turn. Therefore the angst was an all time high because of my fear of the unknown. Anna and Alec's friends play crucial supportive roles in this installment (Amy and Mike). They're brutally honest even when it hurts, but they're dependable and true. I'll be impatiently waiting for the final installment. Grab the first two before May 5th and jump on the suspense train with me!! Give this a try and find your next book crush!!

Michelle's Review:

“The Distraction” is the second book in The Body works trilogy, by Sierra Kincade, and if the first book was a rollercoaster, this one is a tug- of –war. If you have not read book one, stop now go read it and come back to this review. You might read something that will be a spoiler for book one. This series is one of my all-time favorites, the writer has a strong attention to detail and the story is woven together seamlessly.

This book picks up with Alec returning home from prison, on Anna birthday. There is no better gift that extremely hot sex with the man you love that has been away for far too long. Throughout this story he is preparing to testify in the trial of billionaire Maxim Stein, his former boss. Anna learns revenge that is meant for Maxim has carried over to Alec and she is his weakness. His enemies know she is the best way to get to him. This story Anna fights with the fear of what happened months earlier. But after being abducted, almost thrown off a bridge and having to say good bye to Alec, Anna was question how much more she could take. She reached her limit when her best friend is kidnapped and her small daughter frightened in her own home and at that point Anna says good bye to the man she loves .

This book is 5 stars, Read book one first you will be so happy you did, and you will hold your breath for book 3

The Distraction was a very sensual contemporary romance that had me hooked even quicker then the first book and I didn't think that was possible. The chemistry between Alec and Anna is smoldering, and undeniable. This was a powerful and emotionally inspiring read that touched on the very important subject of domestic violence.

Anna has been without Alec since he has been in jail for 3 months. She has missed him everyday and now wonders if he has felt the same. She wonders if there life will resume as the planned, since she has waited for him as she said she would.

Alec questions Anna's loyalty to him at every turn. He wonders if she was really faithful and if she will move on and find someone better. Alec's insecurities and lack of faith in her, upset Anna after all her waiting and everything she has proved. Will they ever get in sync, and will secrets threaten to tear them apart?

When you truly love someone will you be selfless and let them go to save them or will you fight for it because it is what you need? This is the dilemma that Anna and Alec encounter all through this book and you will have to read to find out what they choose.

I loved this sequel and the ending was a killer and definitely left me wanting to message the author and say I need book 3 now!!! It was so great and I can't wait for the conclusion! This was definitely 4 out of 5 stars.
