The hit Broadway musical and classic story is for even the youngest readers! Everyone knows the story of the irrepressible Annie, who lives at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage until she beats the odds and finds a new life with the benevolent and wealthy Daddy Warbucks. Now, with a Tony-nominated revival recently on Broadway and on tour throughout 2014–2015, this classic story is joining Penguin Young Readers!
Neo chose this book about popular red-head Annie, someone with whom we both have a few things in common. Annie has lived in an orphanage for a number of years, hoping her parents will come back to get her. When a lovely man, Mr. Warbucks, comes to help her, Annie is hopeful that her parents will return. A number of people claim to be her parents, but they are only looking for money that Mr. Warbucks is willing to put forward. Too bad, since all Annie wants is a happy home!
Neo thought the book reminded him of the movie. The illustrations were realistic and also reminded him of the movie. He felt the words were quite descriptive and that made it easier to read. A great book for those looking to practice reading.
I chose this book, about a red-headed Annie, someone who has something both my dad and I share. Annie has lived in an orphanage for a number of years, hoping her parents will come back to get her. The book reminded me a lot of the movie. The illustrations were realistic and also reminds me of the movie I saw with my family. I felt the words were quite descriptive and that made it easier to read. A great book for those looking to practice reading.
