Great literature, no. Exciting, thrilling, fast-paced and a continuing story that is worthy of reading. Keeps we going back for more of the John Rain series!
I think that this was one of the most well written novels that I have ever read. John Rain is a lethal assassin who hesitated at one of his jobs. It caused a number of recriminations from supposed CIA operatives and other clandestine figures. Dox is an American sniper who is immersed in hand to hand combat for this assignment. His being targeted by a girly-boy led to an action packed sequence with deadly consequences. I loved the various cities in the Philippines and Hong Kong and the associated meals and hotels in which the action unfolded. Rain had a humanistic side that endeared him with Delilah who is an operative with killer looks and skills. It is a must read if spy thrillers are your stick.
An entertaining read although I did have trouble keeping track of all the various bad guys & factions they belonged to. There's plenty of action & Rain is certainly an intriguing character but for me there are better assassinators out there for me to read about. That said I'd certainly give the series a second chance.
Another good book in the series. Although not as memorable as the earlier installments, I still enjoyed it. John Rain is the greatest assassin in literature.
