Each book in this series is a complete, stand-alone book and can be read in any order.

With a genuine fondness for her mentally deteriorating grandparent, Miles keeps Jeni up-to-date on the sometimes funny, sometimes poignant situations Nana faces in his quaint mountain town. Cute, sweet, awesome.. Who said we need Badasses and Super Alpha Males... you can give me Miles any time of day.. hey! I would totally like to find someone like him... if only. I really wish I had the time to write a proper review. I am sad I just couldn't find it. There is personal stuff in my life right now and it was difficult for me to even post this. Nevertheless, I did read it and I loved it.
I recommend this book 100% and I will read the rest in the series. Jeni and Miles find it in them to compromise! Jeni is enveloped by the beautiful life of a small town. She finds a side of Miles that was... just.... OMG! The supporting characters are brilliant! especially Nana.
This story makes you think, how for many women, there is a time in life when priorities have to be analized. What is more important? A carreer? money? life in the big city? success? or companionship? love? a kind, devoted man who you have unbelivable chemistry with? I really believe that if somehow, you find the later... your life becomes fulfilling, more than anything. Many of us are lucky to find it. Many of don't, or we make mistakes. I can only say: If you think you found it, take the chance!!
**Book provided by author for an honest review** Thunder Storm is about a woman, Jeni, who has to come to terms with what life has suddenly thrown at her. With the death of her mother and decline in her grandmother's health, Jeni has to face reality on what her life has become, and what she wants it to be.
I felt this book to my core. It was so down to earth, and yet surreal. The situation that Jeni was put in could happen to any of us! I'm not sure about the super hot guy part being something that could happen to any of us, LOL, but it's nice to dream. I'm just saying, the reality of this book really hit home with me, and has me super jealous of the "community" that took Jeni and her grandmother in.
Jeni is in advertising and is a career driven woman. She starts her own business in NY, and it's taking off like a deadbeat dad. Jeni's mother is single and taking care of Jeni's grandmother due to dementia. After missing a dinner date she had with her mother, Jeni stops by the house for a quick visit, feeling guilty, and finds her mother dead in her bed with her grandmother holding her. This is where Jeni's life is turned totally upside down.
Grandma, Elizabeth, also called "Nana", needs too much care for Jeni to handle with her "career" and all. Jeni searches for the perfect nursing home for Nana. Well, we ALL know how that turned out, right? So after talking to her best friend Jordan, who lives in a small town in Colorado in her B & B, Jordan suggests that Nana live there with her and her husband Brandan. They have a huge main house and a small cottage off to the back of it that they have renovated and it would be perfect for Nana. After the huge disappointment and concern from what happened to Nana in the nursing home, Jeni finally agrees to move Nana to Colorado. This is where it gets gooooood...
There is so much to tell, I feel like I'm writing a darn book! Whew!! Remember the community I mentioned earlier? Well, part of that community are Jack and Callie, a sweet young couple with an adorable baby named Charlotte Rose, James Gabriel, a young boy who everybody loves, and Miles, the tall, dark, and yummy man-candy that works with Jordan's husband Brandan. They have all agreed to help with Nana's care as much as possible. Their kindness brings Jeni to her knees.
Jeni has always had crappy luck with men. When she met Miles, the physical attraction was electric, but after getting to know him a little, she realized was a good guy also, and wondered how come she couldn't have one like him in NY.
Jeni's adventure with love, life, and death all come to unfold from here. She hasn't yet dealt with the grief from losing her mother so suddenly, having to cope with the guilt of moving Nana so far away from her to have strangers care for her, and to come to grips with her true feelings for Miles and her career. Let me tell you, Miles does not make it easy for her either, with his SEXY, charming, kind, and thoughtful self! All the poor woman thinks whenever he is around is stripping him naked and riding him like there's no tomorrow! BUT, there is a private side to Miles that Jeni later finds out that could make or break their future. OOOH, AHHHH...
The relationships that grow while Jeni is getting her Nana situated in Colorado are so heart warming. The small town coming together to help, along with the steamy sex, and dealing with her grief, it had me wanting more from each chapter. I could not put this book down, willingly. There is so much more to the story than what I have described, but you NEED to read it for yourself! Nana takes all of them on a ride, it's great! You will love this book!
I just finished the last book in this series and I just loved it. It's romantic, suspenseful and heart warming. Apparently this mountain town is a rare place to find awesomely handsome, romantics. The final story is about Jeni and Miles. Jeni is lost after her mother died. She has a time consuming job and it's up to her to take case of her grandmother. Her best friend offers to house and care for her grandmother until Jeni can figure something out. It was love at first sight but Miles doesn't want a part-time relationship. When Jeni decides to relocate, suddenly Miles secrets seem to make him back off. Will his secrets be too much for Jeni or will they be the third perfectly match pair on the mountain?
This was the 3rd Book in the series and it was wonderful because it brought all of the characters from each of the prior 2 books into this one with a few more surprises in it It brings friends closer by moving them from New York to Colorado and brings a love interest to two people who thought it would never be long term because of distance and other factors, but between a grandmother that has Dementia & a mom dying it brings people together.
Usually in romance novels you have the classic alpha male, strong and dominant and his counter part, a delicate woman, who is ready to fall in love. Thunder Storm, book 3 of the Thunder on the Mountain Series, is a nice change to that pattern. Jeni is a strong willed, professional woman who is at a crossroads in her life and is not looking or hoping for a fairytale. She is completely in lust with Miles, AKA Mr. Hottie. They have known each other for some time and she is not shy in telling him exactly how she wants him. It is fun to watch two characters’ obvious attraction and appeal. Especially when the female lead is the one dominating the scene. FUN! Besides the incredible chemistry between Miles and Jeni, Thunder Storm is much more than a romance story. It is a woman facing loss bravely and admirably. Changing her whole life to be truly happy and value the new opportunities that lie in front of her in plain site. Of course hot sex with Miles does not hurt ;) This book has drama, passion, death, kindness and even mystery. There are many interesting characters in Thunder Storm from the Thunder on the Mountain Series but it is a stand-alone as well, although I highly recommend reading all books in the series. Check it out and you will want to move into a mountain cabin with a Hottie today! Are you ready for the storm?
I received an ARC of Thunder Storm in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 3 in a series. While things would be a little clearer (relationships with friends) it's not an absolute must to have read the first two books in the Thunder on the Mountain series. I have NOT read books 1 or 2 and honestly it didn't bother me not having that little bit of background. Right into it, I thought, oops, this must be a series because Jeni and Miles had met before, but aside from not "being" at their first meeting, or seeing the relationships between the other two "families", you're really not lost.
This book was full of witty banter and double entendre which made it a seriously funny and easy read. AND...just the right amount of sexy scenes going on that made Thunder Storm a winner. I really enjoyed the entire book, and I was actually kind of disappointed when it ended, I was enjoying myself so much. I just love how Mimi Foster brought the wittiness and the sexiness together to create such fun characters. Even knowing that the other two couples end up together, I'm headed for books 1 and 2 because this one was just THAT enjoyable. I love it when I can sit down and read for a couple of hours and laugh out loud and then say "Oh Damn, that's HOT"
This is book 3 of a series and even though each book can be read as a standalone, I think they are better read in order. I read Thunderstruck (book 2) as a part of a blog tour and after reading that one I could not wait to start this one. I sat down maybe an hour after reading Thunderstruck and starting this one and stayed up until I finished it. Jeni and Miles were secondary characters in Thunderstruck and I just knew this book was going to be fabulous. I was not disappointed at all, in fact this book exceeded my expectations. Jeni and Miles are both very strong characters and I absolutely fell in love with them in the previous book and even more so after reading this book. I didn't want it to end it was that good. I just kept trying to read slower so the book wouldn't end. I really love that Jordan and Brandan as well as many others from previous books are in this one. I especially loved Nana and how her character is written. My Grandma has Dementia and felt that Nana's character was written right on the money. I recommend this whole series. It is most definitely one of my favorites!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this author! This book deserves many more than 5 AMAZEBALLS stars.
Some of this book I loved but other parts not so much. I loved that we got to see Jeni grow from a self absorbed person to someone who finally gets it. That people/family matter more in the end than a job does. I loved the research put into the dementia and how to not only understand it but also how to help deal with a person with dementia. My MIL had Alzheimer's and it is such a cruel disease. I loved having an inside look at Jeni's thought process as she worked things out. Although the descriptions helped me feel like I could picture being at the B&B sometimes I got bored with to many empty word. The descriptions sometimes felt like it was there just to fill a word count. I loved Mile's because he was so sweet and understanding A minor annoyance to me was the reason Jeni brought her nana there was because the town was described as being so small that if she wandered off everyone would know her. Yet then it turns out Miles has a son and Jeni's friend who has lived there for a while did not know he had a son. Small discrepancy but still annoying. I have read the first 3 books and enjoyed them as a light, fast read that I will be reading any future Lightening books.
I was given Thunder Storm as a gift for an honest review. This book is part of a series but can read as a standalone. Thunders Storm is book three in the series, even though I have not read the other two books yet (but I will) I loved this book. Jenn is the owner of an up and coming Ad Agency in New York that currently takes up all of her time. Her mother passes away; she leaves Jenn in charge of her nana’s well-being. Feeling that she can’t do right by her nana in New York, Jenn decides to move to a friend’s house in Colorado. Miles lives in Colorado and is attracted to Jenn and wants to be with her, but he doesn’t do long distance relationships. Once Jenn has her nana set up in Colorado, Jenn decides to go back to New York and visit her Nana often enough. Once back in New York, Jenn starts thinking about what is best for her. Should she stay in New York or go back to Colorado? Jenn and Miles have enough energy and attraction that you can just feel it. But what will happen to Jen and Miles? You will have to read the book to find out..
This would be a great beach read! Short, hot and sweet. I am a new comer to this series and I have not read the first two in the series. I will rectify this shortly. That being said I was not lost in this. I think I could of benefited from some backstory but I followed along perfectly.
Jeni and Miles have instant chemistry but geographical difficulties. They both know they want each other but are not willing to be a short term fling. Miles, oh, Miles! He is really dreamy! Good looking, responsible, smart, everything that would constitute a fairy tale prince (we all want one of those!)
Jeni is goal oriented and professionally driven. What do you do with your life once your goals have been achieved? Spending time with family before time runs out is always the best option.
This is a great story of love. There is no big drama, no broken people, just a good old fashioned love story with a great ending. If you love, love then this is a short story for you!
**Each book in this series is a complete, stand-alone book and can be read in any order.**
If you enjoy sweet romantic love story with good sex scenes...then you'll really enjoy this book.
Jeni would love nothing more than to have a long distance relationship with hunky Miles but he refuses her advances and leaves her feeling frustrated, especially towards their obvious sexual desire for each other.
Opportunity has given Jeni the chance to uproot and move to be near her grandmother, who just happens to be living near Miles...but will she take a leap of faith.
There are lots of twists and turns throughout the book to keep you turning those pages. Jeni and Miles' story does not always run smooth but the detail to how they feel makes you want that HEA.
I have had the pleasure of reading all of the books in this series, and each one just keeps getting better and better. In Thunder Storm the author knocked it out of the park. This is Miles and Jeni's story, it is really a great story, the one thing that shines through on this is, there is always a plan for each and everyone of us. Life has a way of leading us down a different path than what we may have planned for ourselves.
Even though this is the third book in the series, it is a stand alone story. I did enjoy it, it's a nice sweet romance with some good sex scenes. Both Jeni and Miles are strong independent people. Miles knows what he wants but will Jeni make the right decision before its to late?
