Here, it gets amazingly baroque. Vanis kidnaps Larry and brings him into his compound, where he gets to be friends with Rick, Vanis's son. They both turn tricks together while they scheme about how to escape Rick's compound. They get help from Vanis's daughter, Cheryl, a lesbian, and her girlfriend, Emily. They decide to steal the record books, which they manage under some stress, and the police arrive to arrest Vanis. All is good afterward, for the entire cast of these four books.
