Don’t let one mistake keep you from taking on the world.



Ceci and Bentley… after reading The Intern: Volume One, I was curious to see what would happen next. After reading Volume Two, I’m desperate to know how it will end!


We were both way too far in, and now I had to cover my tracks before he found out the actual truth.

Secrets. Lies. Deceit. Suspense. Mystery. Lust. 


Ceci still has her secrets, is still on the hunt to find out what happened in the past. Bentley knows something is off, but can’t quite figure out what. He has many trust issues from the past that come to light in this story. Bentley and Ceci can’t and shouldn’t be together for many reasons… but that doesn’t stop them. Their attraction and chemistry is too intense to resist. This installment is high on the steam, and the build up of getting caught… of the secret one of them is holding getting out.


How I felt about Volume 2… Honestly, the first 20%, I wasn’t sure if I loved the direction the author took with the characters and the storyI almost felt like we were dealing with a whole different Bentley, this new alpha male type. I don’t remember him being that way in the first volume and I wasn’t sure I liked it, but as it went on, I felt myself becoming more invested and engrossed with what was happening. I really loved how this installment ended. Please- have some mercy on us and bring Volume Three out soon :)

Will it all come to the surface and have an everlasting damning effect on their relationship?

Only time will tell.



I enjoyed the second part of this story and once again the ending was brilliant. Brooke Cumberland knows how to leave me wanting more! I'm eager to see how it'll all end up. If you like a short and sexy read with a story of suspense and drama than you should give this series a read.... Enjoy!

First of all, Bentley can do no wrong ok, LOVE THIS GUY!!!



Her eyes jolt open and her body jumps from the sight of me. I look down on her wondering who the girl I just fucked really is.
“What are you doing?” she asks hurriedly, grabbing the sheet for comfort. I look at her through glazed eyes, and I can see the fear on her face. What’s she thinking right now? What is it she’s really after?
“Get up,” I demand. The room is pitch black, but the outside streetlights are beaming through the windows. I can see her hesitation and fear immediately, but I’m only a shadow to her.
“What?” she croaks out. I lean over the bed and hover over her body.
“You heard me. Get up.”

I started this book after midnight thinking I would read a chapter before bed. Ummm, no. I read it straight through in one sitting and loved every second. It was alluringly sexy as readers finally start to piece together something from the past only thing is..Ceci is not the only one being less than forthcoming. As she finally gets the opportunity readers have been eagerly anticipating for..the answers surrounding her father’s death other facts start to surface.

My Thoughts
The Intern Vol 2 was absolutely delicious. I could not get enough. It was a quickie but a goody. Bentley finally starts to let down his shield. Total 180 from Vol 1, the whole time I just wanted to scream NO-STOP when his guard would slip but I couldn't. Everything has to play out and there is nothing I can do about it. Eventually I fell for the two as a couple. Slowly. Now... I just need to know what happens next!

When Brooke messaged asking me for a favor, I was wondering what it could be. Little did I know, her favor was asking me if I could read and give her honest feedback on her upcoming book, The Intern Volume 2 before she sends out the ARCs. Umm..Brooke you didn’t have to ask if I wanted to read the book because my answer was a BIG FAT YES!!! Literally, my reading plans changed and I had to read this book ASAP and thats what I did when The Intern Vol. 2 appeared on my kindle. Let’s just say I may have squealed in delight when I got my hands on Bentley.

Pardon my language but Holy Shit… The Intern Vol. 2 was FUCKING HOT!! If I thought the first volume was sexy, let me tell you Brooke went beyond my expectations in this installment. Volume 2 was filled with so much suspense and lots of steamy drop-your-panty kind of hot sex.





If you were like me, I had to know what will happen to Ceci when Bentley discovered she was hiding under his desk. How will Ceci manage to get out of her predicament ? Well lets just say Brooke Cumberland took her readers on to a whole ride of hotness. The chemistry between Ceci and Bentley was like a blazing inferno. It was hot, raw, primal and intense. The strong connection between these two is so palpable that you were on the edge of your seats waiting for Ceci’s secrets to be unraveled. The more time they spent with each other, Bentley warns Ceci that he doesn’t give his heart so easily and constantly ask her for the truth. With lingering suspicions of Ceci, will Bentley be able to fuck the truth out of her? Or will Ceci’s lies finally catch up to her?



Ahhh… Brooke Cumberland does it again with another shocking ending!!! Why must you torture your readers like that? HAHA. What can I say but I loved The Intern Volume 2. It was one hot, steamy suspenseful quick read. I loved that we got to see a whole new side to Bentley. He was the total alpha sexy domineering hero. And I can’t get enough of him. I wanted more Bentley!!! I can’t wait to see what Ms.Cumberland has in store for Bentley and Ceci in the third volume. All I can ask of her, is to please hurry and finish it soon. I am dying to know what happens next. <3

First of all if you have not read The Intern Volume One run don't walk to your nearest e-retailer and 1-click that bad boy NOW!! You don't want to read volume two without reading the first volume first or else you will be completely lost. Not to mention you are missing plenty of Bentley hotness. 

 Okay moving on!

The Intern Volume Two picks up right where Volume One left off. If you thought Bentley couldn't get any hotter you are wrong! We get to see Bentley in alpha mode...

Yeah it was hot to say the least.

Cici and Bentley are trying to learn to walk the fine line of their relationship. Bentley torn between his growing feelings and sense of mistrust and Cici struggling to juggle her feelings and trying to stick to her goal of unraveling what happened to her dad.

Then in typical Brooke fashion she drops a bomb on us leaving us speechless, shocked and begging for more.

I give The Intern Volume Two 5++++ Kisses. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to see what Brooke has for us in The Intern Volume Three.

In the end this book was more than I expected and so much more. If you want hot a hot, melt your panties read then read this series!!!

After getting to that scene, all that’s been playing on my mind is the thought that: “Damn! Why did I not pursue gymnastics when I was younger?!”

Volume 2 starts where Volume 1 ended. You know, that cliffhanger at the end where we all probably went “Oh shit! She’s going to get caught!”? Yes, that one.

Bentley walked in on her hiding but didn’t let on and pretended he didn’t. But now, he’s starting to have doubts and I like how Brooke made him into someone who doesn’t shake off his concerns, his questions. He was not dumb and although his doubts are just doubts, he trust himself to go with his feelings and start asking questions and acting on it. It’s like he doesn’t let himself be fooled. He wants to. He wants to believe that Ceci is being honest and that she’s not hiding anything from him. But he’s cautious and wary too. And I kind of love that about him. Makes him even hotter in my eyes.



Ceci is starting feel guilty about what she’s doing. She’s starting to have deeper feelings and emotional involvement to Bentley that she’s having second-thoughts about hurting him and compromising Bentley and his father’s company with what she’s been doing. However, no matter how much she feels that what shes doing is oh so wrong, she can’t let go and stop searching for answers about that tragedy that happened years ago. She needs answers and she needs to get it. Ceci is one of the most confident, scarily deceiving yet vulnerable heroine I’ve ever read. How she’s brave and determined to seek and get the justice she wants is admirable, and although how she went about it isn’t the ideal way, I admire the fierceness in her to really pull the deception off.



That’s also to say that she’s fierce when it comes to her relationships with other people, her family and her best friends, and now… with Bentley. What they have started as physical attraction, it’s intense. Combustible. And Brooke made me want to be a gymnast! Have I mentioned that yet? Because really, this is kinkier and waaaaaaay panty-dropping than Volume 1. Volume 1 has nothing on Volume 2 Bentley. For reals. Now, don’t go thinking that this is all sex and no development whatsoever in the story. The sex for me is enough. It was not too much to make me sick of it, and not too few that I want more. But. But with how extremely hot those scenes are, it feels like it’s 2 chapters long when really it was not.



Brooke Cumberland wrote the second volume of Ceci and Bentley’s story with the right amount of suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat and the perfect drizzle of sex scenes all throughout the book to keep the steam going.

When I checked my kindle and saw that my ARC of Brooke Cumberland’s The Intern, Vol. 2 was on there, I immediately stopped what I was reading, so I could find out how Ceci and Bentley’s story continued. Because it’s a fast paced story, I consumed the volume quickly. I desperately needed to know how it was all going to play out after volume 1 ended with Ceci in quite the precarious position, and Brooke definitely does not disappoint with this second installment. Volume 2 clearly illustrates the deep feelings that are develping between Ceci and Bentley as well as the dangerous position that Ceci is in with both her heart and her investigation.

At the end of Volume 1, Ceci was in Bentley’s office searching for clues about her father’s case. Bentley catches her underneath his desk, but doesn’t call her out, at least right away. Bentley has been burned in the past, so he doesn’t trust easily, and Ceci’s refusal to tell him the truth about why she was in his office gets his hackles up and makes him question every action she makes. Ceci, ever the master manipulator, does her best to assuage his fears, but they’re always at the back of his mind. Despite Bentley’s thoughts of betrayal, though, he can’t stay away from her, and the feeling is definitely mutual. But this game of cat and mouse is getting out of hand, and soon, the walls are closing in on Ceci and the risk of losing the man she has fallen for as well as the information she desperately needs becomes a distinct possibility.

The Intern, Vol. 2 is the perfect second installment. It builds up the chemistry between Ceci and Bentley as well as the mystery behind her father’s murder. Boy do these two heat up the pages. The connection they share is all consuming, and it’s throwing both Ceci and Bentley off their game, which is not good for two people who need to keep their wits about them in order to solve an important case and keep running a business that was almost already ruined by Bentley’s carelessness. Brooke clearly shows how at odds Ceci’s heart and mind are. Her focus is now split between following the clues to the truth about her father and following her heart that demands claiming Bentley for herself. Ceci is too close to both to back down now, but it seems clear that to get one, she’s going to have to give up the other, and she just doesn’t know how to do that quite yet. Too bad she may not have a choice because when, not if, Bentley finds out, it’s going to be game over for her on both accounts.

This is such a fantastic serial. The writing is interesting and draws readers in from the first page, and Ceci and Bentley are complex characters whose depth continues to be exposed as readers get further into their story. At the end of this volume, everything is slowly unraveling, so I will be impatiently waiting to see how it is all going to play out in the third and final installment.

DANG, what an ending!! These two had the serious hots going on. I enjoyed it much more than Vol.1 - and this was already great!

Brooke wrote a great second book in The Intern serial. Vol.1 ended with a cliffhanger which made me gasp because never ever did I think Ceci can talk herself out of this situation but, well, she could. She's THAT good ;)

After the office accident Bentley is suspicious but he can't seem to stop wanting to believe her... wanting to see the good in her and that she's nothing like the other girl. And slowly without him even knowing he opens up more and more - he lets her in.

" I want to believe every fucking word she's telling me. I want to believe her because I want her. ..."

"I swallow slowly as I take in his words. They're so...honest. And raw. I cracked him - he's falling for me." ...but not only he is!!

Both grew pretty close and sparks flew - the sexual tension was off the charts and I enjoyed reading it. Bentley has some serious alpha behavior going on (which I totally loved) but also shows signs of how easily his heart can be broken -again.

She knows she should keep her distance, for her own and his good, because let's be honest, she's lying to this poor, very handsome man and karma is a bitch and always gets you.

"I know I should be keeping my distance, yet my body constantly betrays me." ~Ceci - I can't blame her for that, he indeed is hot!

What an intense novella; I could have read 100 more pages. And of course Brooke ended the book with another "What the heck... hell noooo" moment. I think now Ceci is seriously screwed - I mean, there's no way in hell she can talk herself out of this new-found discovery. I'm afraid she's about to lose both -solving the case and the man she's falling for. But hey, that's just my own theory ;)

I enjoy this serial lots, and I think everyone who loves some steamy, suspenseful stories with very likable characters will love it too.

I'm so into a story that has a "Who done it" twist to it. Well you will get that and so much more out of this read. This is a short sexy,funny and crazy story that will leave you wanting all the answers now. But this story just keeps getting better with all the twist and turns.
Im still shocked at how this 18 year old Ceci even gets away with her little scam she has going on. Maybe it has something to do with her smart mouth and nothing stops her at getting what she feels she has to do. She is so great at her little game she has going on to get to the bottom of something that is so important to her that her whole life is hanging on getting some answers. She is half brilliant and half crazy at what she is trying to pull off. But I think she bites off more then she can handle when enters the story Bentley….OH MY !!! Do you really want to play a game of chase with this x-model turn future CEO business man who is so sexy that he is hard to resist, and has his on secrets??? Well this crazy young lady is able to pull off her little scam but the walls are closing in on her and he wants to know whats really going on. Nothing better then a HOT office romance with all the snecking around to take this little story to a level of hotness that you get sucked into this sexy read that you almost forget about whats really going on here. The attraction between them is so strong that the whole intern thing that this starts off turns to heat a passion right away. For such a short book it is packed with such a intriguing story. It just grabs you from the start and I could not put it down. I love a good cliffhanger because it just keeps me there with the story and I want more !!!This was my first time reading something from Brooke Cumberland and I really enjoyed her writing and look forward to read more of her books. I gave both these books 4-5 stars and can not wait to see what book # 3 has to offer. This story just keeps getting better :)

Barely three pages in and I was back on Bentley cock-watch and I must admit I feared the worst. Happily though, there's more intrigue and suspense to bulk out the whole forbidden affair thing so I enjoyed this in spite of the frequent references to the state of little Bentley.
I'm not totally buying some aspects of the plot and while I'm trying to ignore them because, y'know, this is fiction after all, I'm struggling a bit with why she doesn't just tell him what she's doing as that can't be any worse than lying to him. I guess the problem that creates for me is that it doesn't make their affair feel that forbidden , rather I feel a bit exasperated with Ceci for making things worse than they need to be.
That said, I'm invested enough in the story and the characters to read the third and final part.

The Intern: Vol. 2 is the second book in a super steamy serial by Brooke Cumberland and WOW was it HOT! I quickly fell in love with this story and these characters when I read Vol. 1 and have been dying to get my hands onto Vol. 2. I knew this was going to be good but what Brooke wrote completely blew my expectations away.

The Intern: Vol. 2 picks up right where the first one left off and we are able to see that Bentley is aware that Ceci is hiding something and although he fears that it the worst his desire and pull toward her has him hoping for the best and believing her lies. Lies I might say roll super easy off her tongue. I will say that when Bentley gets mad he get aggressive and forceful and that is HOT! I mean have some clean panties nearby HOT!

“I love it when you say my name, Ceci,” I growl against her ear. “Drives. Me. Fucking. Insane.”

There is something about a forbidden romance that gets me all kinds of excited and the boss / intern one definitely falls into that category. Now I have no problem with the high school student / older man forbidden romance but something about the fact that he does not know how old she really is has me on the edge of my seat waiting for it to blow up. All of Cece’s secrets and lies are eventually going to come out and when that happen it is going to be EPIC! I hope the chemistry and the strong feelings these two have is enough to get them through the tough times when the truth all comes out.

“I’m losing myself in her, in us. The doubt, fear, and suspicion all take a back seat.”

While the story in this serial is what draws me in and brings me back desperately needing more, I will say that the sex is fucking amazing. Bentley is just the right mix of controlling and forceful while still being caring and loving to Ceci. What clearly started as some a steamy secretive office fling is clearly quickly becoming so much more. You can see their feeling for each other deepen with each page and the more they fall for each other the hotter the book seems to get.

“My heart bleeds in remorse because I know I’m deceiving him – every part of me screams to just tell him the truth and beg for him to forgive me, yet my heart fights to protect him. I’ll be crushed if he lets go of me completely, but he’ll be devastated by the secrets and lies.”

Brooke has once again done an amazing job of writing a captivating story that quickly drew me in and left me desperately needing more. OMG I need to know how this story ends and I can promise you the minute Vol. 3 shows up on my kindle I will be dropping all my real world responsibilities in order to find out how the story ends for these two characters that I have quickly become very attached to!

Review for The Intern, Volume Two by Brooke Cumberland

The Intern, Volume Two is not a stand-alone, if you want to know what is going on you need to read Volume One first as this picks up immediately where the first left off. I have to say, of all the serials I’ve read lately (since they are hella popular right now) this has got to be in my top three, hell, maybe even number one. I’ve followed Brooke Cumberland throughout her indie career and this is her best work to date. Absolutely captivating characters, an intriguing storyline, and smut that will ruin your panties. Not to mention the fact that when you find the last page you are left completely bereft wanting more. The wait is pure torture — of the best kind.

It will be difficult to give you much about the storyline without having major spoilers for the first volume so I am going to be as vague as possible. What I will say is that the author does a fabulous job of building up the anticipation… keeping you completely absorbed from the first page to the last. I swear there was no pausing in my reading I sat down to read a chapter and then I was done. I LOVE when books sneak up on me like that.

Ceci isn’t your typical teenager. She’s had to grow up fast. The death of her father left scars on her body and heart. She is desperate to find answers and will stop at nothing until she figures out what happened that day. The risks she’s taking to get her answers are on the extreme side, but reading from her POV you can’t help but cheer her on and feel the need to follow her down the slippery slope.

Bentley? Holy hotness Batman! That man is BBF to the extreme. He’s suspicious, sexy, and isn’t a stranger to scandal. Sexing up his beautiful intern wasn’t something he anticipated, but once he has her to himself he can’t seem to help himself. The attraction is there and she’s just ripe for seduction. He’s bossy. He is broody. And man can he dirty talk your panties right off.

This is a series that is an absolute must read. If you are a fan of erotica that has substance it is perfect for you. Throw away all assumptions on how teenagers ‘should’ act, how they ‘should’ react, and just focus on the storyline. It is refreshing to read a young heroine that has more going on inside her head than what party to go to next or what she’s going to do to get the popular boy to show interest in her or the head cheerleader to stop being such a bully. Age means little when it comes to life experience and Brooke breaks out of that young and dumb stereotype. (I am not saying she doesn’t use poor judgement, but we all screw up. Human nature and such.)

I give The Intern, Volume Two a full FIVE stars for a box breaking storyline and FOUR drenched panties for the seriously hot smut action that was packed into this novella length book… a certified Mommy’s a Book Whore MUST READ NOW!

It's Seductive Nights Trilogy Bundle and Reasonable Doubt: Volume 1 kind of hot

I am so in love with Bentley S2 He is soooo cute and perfect and sexy and hot and fearless and cocky and somewhat vulnerable...I just...gaah! He is also naïve and wants to believe in all the lies she told him...badly.

I must to say it again: Bentley is fucking hot.





Oh, Ceci, tell him the truth and beg for forgiveness!!! He gave you many opportunities to come clean and you missed them all. I like you fine but I can't stand you hurting him more, he doesn't deserve it. Please don't make me hate you, so trust him and go for it.

I need...no, I am dying to read the last volume!!! July 16th can't come fast enough

I was so anxious to see how Ceci was going to get herself out of the situation at the end of Volume One. Bentley is beginning to realize his feelings for Ceci are more than just casual and begins to question her motives and place in his life. With each question that he asks, Ceci is building a larger web of lies and is slowly blurring the lines of her own mission. The chemistry between Ceci and Bentley is off the charts in Volume two and the story itself begins to narrow in. There is a shocking reveal at the end. It seems for every answer we get, two more questions are asked. Now, leading in to the final chapters, I am excited to see where the author takes us. I am ready for July 16, when Volume Three will release.

The heat is turned way up in the second installment of this fast moving entanglement. Cumberland certainly didn't disappoint in moving the storyline along and keeping it just as hot and intriguing. Ceci's in a bit of a sticky situation now that Mr. Leighton has caught on to her lies. Vol. 3 can't get here soon enough with answers as to how this whole clever mess will be unraveled. It's definitely piqued my curiosity on both the mystery side and the wildly off-kilter sexual escapade/relationship.

Wow! Just WOW! This series is slowly killing me. I don't know if I have ever read a book so fast in my life. It devoured me, chewed me up, and spit me back out. My heart is still racing with an ending like that! The Intern, Vol. 2 is 96 pages of HOT, INTENSE, SENSUAL SEXINESS! It is 5 chapters of lies, betrayal, and regret, and it had me hanging on every word, every sentence, every paragraph until the ending when I was WHAT. THE. HELL?

❝Why are you letting me treat you this way, Ceci? Don't girls want to be loved, cherished, and all that girly shit?❞

❝I told you...I'm not like other girls.❞

I swear, I melt every time "Sweetheart" is uttered from Bentley's lips. My GOD! I love this man. He is domineering, he is arrogant, he is oh so sexy! His walls are coming down piece by piece every time he is around Ceci. He is fighting his feelings tooth and nail, because of what happened in the past. He was betrayed, he was lied to, he was fooled by a woman who snuck her way in to his life, and he regrets it to this day. There is something about Ceci, something he can't put his finger on, but he knows that she is hiding something, and he doesn't want to get played again. But each time he sees her, he craves more of her, and that scares him to death.

❝I want to trust you, Ceci.❞

❝You can, I promise.❞

Ceci is doing everything in her power to find out what really happened to her father., but she is getting nowhere fast. In the meantime she is falling for her foul-mouthed, sexy jerk of boss! Just like she is slowly digging her way in to his heart, he is doing the same to her, breaking down her walls brick by brick, orgasm by mind-shattering orgasm. With her feelings for Bentley growing stronger by the day, her hopes for coming out of this with her heart unscathed is looking like a pipe dream. He is getting way too close, and she has to make sure all of her tracks are covered. ALL OF THEM.

The chemistry, the passion between Bentley and Ceci is earth shattering. Their hearts are in this now, and there is no way either of them will come out of this with their heart and soul intact. The lies will eventually come out, and the answers that are revealed will most likely put someone in danger.

The Intern is a series that will hold you hostage! Each book that comes out consumes me for a good hour, and I am left breathless and cursing up a storm. It is a scorching read full of angst and suspense, and some of the hottest sex scenes around. Office sex, desk sex, under the desk sex, getting slammed up against a wall (multiple times) sex. It has it all. Volume 3 should be over the horizon, and by god I CANNOT wait to have that in my hands! Thank you Ms. Cumberland for starting my week off with a BANG!

I received an ARC of this serial from the author and I'm so happy I did! I was desperate to find out what was going to happen in it after the ending of the first serial! I did have to wait a few days before I could read my ARC, but it was definitely worth the wait! The plot of this serial went at a really fast pace, but it was a slower pace than the first serial! It was also still kinda short though, but it had a lot in it! I really enjoyed the plot! The mystery aspect from the first serial was developed even further and I'm positive that it will be fully resolved in the next serial! I mean, I really hope it will be considering the next serial is the last one! Plus, I'm still really intrigued by the mystery aspect! I really want to connect all the dots! There were also plenty, and I mean plenty, of hot, sexy scenes in this serial! I didn't expect so many, but damn they were hot! There were so many more than what there were in the first book too! The characters were amazing! Cecilia 'Ceci' was the again main female character and I connected really well with her in this serial! I felt like I got to know her more and I also found out that she's just as much in the dark about her father's death as the reader is! I love this because I love it when the reader finds things out at the same time as the character! I really liked Ceci in this serial and I could see how determined she was to find out what had happened to her dad! I could also see her feelings for her love interest, Bentley, develop even further! Bentley was again the main male character and he was even hotter in this serial! Bentley's suspicions of Ceci were raised in this serial and he was determined to find out her story and why she was lying to him! He used sex to try and get some answers from her, but it didn't really work! Bentley demonstrated how domineering he was in this serial in the sex scenes though! He was commanding and in control all the time! I actually loved this side of Bentley, even though I would probably have hightailed it out the room if he spoke to me the way he spoke to Ceci at times lol! He could be just a bit too domineering lol! I loved that this serial was again written from both Ceci and Bentley's points of views! It again added a lot to the story and this serial also helped me find out more about Bentley's way of thinking as he seemed to open up more in this serial! I can't wait to read the next serial in this series! The ending of this serial was pretty insane! It was definitely a moment I was waiting to happen and it was the perfect place to stop to leave me begging for more! I'll be impatiently waiting for the third and final serial to release! The cover for this serial is so hot! It just represents it so well and again, I think the models suit the characters of Cecilia and Bentley too! I also love that this cover has the exact same models as the first serial! Big thank you to Brooke for an ARC of The Intern, Volume 2!

Things pick up exactly were we left off in the first volume. Ceci gets her hand caught in the cookie jar, but being the exceptional liar she is - she worms her way out of... or so she thinks. Bentley wants to believe her, he knows he can't - knows there is something else at play but he can't seem to play it safe around this girl.

Ceci gains a few more pieces of the puzzle that is the mystery of her father's murder while collecting a few pieces of Bentley's heart along the way. The only problem is that one crime may be too complex for her to solve and as for the man... he might just figure out the solve the mystery of her before she has time to collect all her answers.



Brooke Cumberland turns up the heat in the second installment of this three part serial. We get to see a little bit of a demanding and bossy side to Bentley that I absolutely loved. But I think what I enjoyed the most was that even when he was bossy (and hot), he was going a bit sweet in his own head. The instant-love dynamic in books is something that, for me, can be hit or miss. There are times when it just rubs me the wrong way - but this time it just works for me. I think these serial format books get a bit of a pass on that because you are given such little space to develop a story, the characters and still have everything come together.

I am looking forward to the wrap of this story. There is a lot still left to be resolved for these two and for Ceci's quest for the truth. I am expecting this to end with a bang as not only the truth about just who Ceci is and what her father was involved in comes crashing down. Throw in Bentley - who has already made poor relationship choices into the mix, a man who is falling for a girl (who is of legal age) in high school... well, let's just say he is not going to just be dealing with the drama of diddling the intern.

This second installment starts off with a bang! And I do mean that quite literally.

The first book left off with Ceci hiding under Bentley’s desk after snooping around his office. After seeing her in there, his suspicion and doubts about her start to rumble around in his mind. Typical alpha Bentley, he questions her during rough, gritty sex. *drool* Brooke is always upping her game when it comes to sex scenes. This was by far one of her best ones! I’m talking wet panties in a matter of seconds. Hell, maybe even milliseconds! One word: FLEXIBILITY.

“She’s an addiction I never knew I wanted, a feeling of never having enough, never touching enough, never smiling enough. She made me that person. That love-sick puppy dog that craves her like my last meal. That person I swore I’d never be—that person I never wanted to be.”

Despite Bentley’s suspicion over her, their chemistry is through the roof. Seriously one of the hottest literary couples. We also see Bentley open up more. It seems like with each book that passes, his walls come down little by little. He has a hard time giving in to his feelings for Ceci, but he also knows it’s inevitable. Those feelings are too strong to suppress.

Ceci isn’t having an easy time either. Her feelings for him keep growing and the guilt is building with each day that passes. It’s in those moments that the guilt is eating her up, that we remember she’s young and vulnerable. She always exudes confidence and can deceive as easily as breathing, so it’s easy to forget she has a lot on the line.

The suspense in this story keeps increasing as well. Now the interest isn’t just about Ceci’s past, but also waiting for the shit to hit the fan between her and Bentley. Each little slip up had me wincing and holding my breath.
Brooke hit it hard with that ending. I mean, talk about a cliffhanger!

Trust….When you have been burned deeply before in your life, it is hard to trust people again. Bentley was badly burned before and is having a hard time trying to trust Ceci. Yet his body aches for her and he is constantly struggling with his feelings towards her. When he finds Ceci hiding in his home office, the beast of rage and insecurity comes to a boil. He just knows she is hiding something from him and tries to force her to come clean.

Ceci is still determined as ever to find answers regarding her father’s death. She has new information to go on and it causes her need for answers to go into overdrive. She is struggling hard as well because of her developing feelings for Bentley. Ceci feels bad that she is deceiving Bentley but needs to close this chapter in her life about her father. This determination keeps her focused and continues down the path she has begun. She is able to pacify Bentley though it is still tearing her up inside.

As always, Bentley is super Alpha sexy as ever! His bedroom abilities leave my panties soaking! He still has the itching feeling about Ceci and continues to push her and test her. And in true Ceci fashion, she nails everything he throws at her. Their back and forth banter remains hot, steamy, and very entertaining.

Brooke leaves you with another cliffhanger just as she did with Volume 1, but this one leaves you with your jaw on the floor and screaming for more! I am in love with this series and the struggles these two characters are facing. I’m afraid of what is to come next but I need it like an addict need it’s next fix. It’s going to be a long few weeks waiting to read the conclusion to the Intern. If you haven’t read Volume 1, I highly recommend you do. Get caught up before Volume 3 comes out. Don’t miss out of the amazing tale of Bentley and Ceci!

A very sexy and yet angsty story of a girl that needed to know who done it and would stop at nothing, use anyone in order to get the answer. Until her priorities start to get mixed up in a tangle of heady passion and intoxicating sweetness.

I break down his walls and walk right into his heart. ~ Ceci

But in doing so, Ceci also lets down her own defenses down. Inadvertently and unwillingly, gives her own heart away. I enjoy her character very much, she’s strong and yet vulnerable, smart and determined, but also conscious of her actions and the impact they may have.

Bently doesn’t know which way is up, even though he knows what he wants. He has incredibly mixed feelings about Ceci. He perceives she’s deceiving him in some way, but he fights it because he wants to let her in.

“It’s like a blend of lust and fear. A mix of wanting to protect myself and letting my guard down all at the same time.” ~ Bently

Their attraction and connection is a sinful, sexy torture, but the truth is in their way. Can it be possible for them to overcome it when all light is cast upon them?

“The hurt, the betrayal, the lies. I’ve caused it all… I know I have to deal with my consequences.” ~ Ceci

I’m intrigued to know how this story will unfold.

The Intern Vol. 2 cannot be read as a standalone, you MUST read volume 1 before reading this. If you haven't, read it before reading this review.

Ceci and Bentley's story picks up right where it left off with Ceci hiding under his desk. Bentley knows that Ceci is up to something, he just can't put his finger on what exactly that thing is. He tries as hard as he can to get her to tell him, but to no avail. He tries to forget her, tries not to think about the passion that they share, but that's easier said than done.

Ceci didn't set out to find the attraction that she feels to Bentley after all, she's only interning there to get closer to the information she so desperately wants. But the more time she spends with Bentley the more time she spends wanting to be in his arms. But Ceci's secret is getting harder to hide and Bentley gets closer and closer to the truth. Can Ceci keep her secret hidden or will it all come crashing down in her face?

I heard someone said that this book as too much sex in it. What did you expect? If you read Vol 1 then obviously you know what you're going to get. Who complains about sex? The cover alone should tell you that there will be plenty of it and it will be hot, steamy, and passionate. I for one am not complaining. If there is one thing that Brooke writes well it's sex and passion between her characters. She'll leave you hot and bothered and asking for more. This volume drew me further into the web that is Ceci and Bentley and has left me anxiously awaiting the next volume to find out what happens next. An easy 5 stars.

I love Intern 2, as much as the first one. Bentley and Ceci gets sexier by the minute. The sex gets hotter everytime, there is no time when these two are together that sparks doesn't fly or shall I say underwear (lol). Brooke keeps everything hot and heavy between them with every scene that they are together. The more I read this series, the more I am in love with Bentley. He is a super sexy and very hot alpha male.

In this 2nd volume, things between Bentley and Ceci are starting to take a serious turn. Both are trying their hardest not to let each other in deeply, but both are failing. Bentley cannot help but feel lost when Ceci is not around and Ceci is fighting the same battle. Bentley tries his hardest to break Ceci to tell him the truth, while Ceci promises that everything she tells him is the truth and that no matter what he does she won't break.

This book, of course ends with a major cliffhanger.

I cannot wait for Volume 3 the Conclusion of it all to come out, so I can read it quick. Just like the first one, I am on a major book hang over. Thanks Brooke for another Super Sexy book. I love it! <3
