Is the garden your happy place? Does gardening give you peace? Devotions from the Garden takes you to that place where dewdrops settle and butterflies gather to witness the miracles of God's creation bloom and grow. Devotions from the Garden : Come to the garden alone, and fill your soul with His presence. There's nothing on earth like the peace and loveliness of a magnificent garden. It's the place where Adam and Eve first fellowshipped with God, and where you, too, can escape from this chaotic world into His loving arms of beauty and serenity.
This devotional has been a wonderful way to start each morning. Not only is it filled with beautiful reflections, but the accompanying garden photos showcasing the Lord's beauty is breathtaking. Each devotional opens with a piece of scripture, is followed by a devotional and ends with a prayer. I love how perfectly it tied into gardening!
"Devotions from the Garden" is a book of 90 devotionals that show the parallels between gardening and how God works in our lives. The book is full of colorful photographs of gardens and garden plants. Each devotional started with a verse and ended with a suggested prayer. The devotional talked about the trials and joys of gardening or about gardening hints and then tied that in to help us better understand the verse. The author has a solid theology so I appreciated the truths she brought out through her gardening parallels.
While non-gardeners can probably get something out of this devotional, it's really talking to those who understand the work and enjoyment found in gardening. Reading each devotional doesn't take long, but it leaves you with something to think about for the day or while you garden which will point your thoughts and praise toward God. I call that a good devotional.
I received this book as a review copy from the publisher through BookLook Bloggers.
This is a great, inspiring devotional. I especially like how the author links gardening concepts with scripture. There's tons of Biblical references that go hand in hand with visual gardening tips. The beautiful illustrations make the book a most excellent gift. I am fond of meditating and reflecting upon the miracle of growth. Plus, the necessity to maintenance of plant care is quite informative and easy to apply in a practical sense; like crop rotation, companion planting, pinching and deadheading. I think we're all familiar with He is the vine, we are the branches. What I found within the pages is peace, rest and refreshment in reading about God's presence in the beauty of nature. You'll love it!
5/5 stars! A quality devotional I recommend to friends.
Beautifully presented devotional - perfect for anyone who loves to garden and enjoys nature. Each devotion includes a scripture, devotion and prayer. The photographs are stunning of Gods creation. It also has a nice ribbon that is easily used as a bookmark.

These ninety devotions explore the parallels of life with the elements of the garden to help you see God, to sense His presence, to soothe your soul, and to rest in knowing He is with you throughout each day. About the Author
Miriam Drennan is the author of Devotions for the Beach and the Days You Wish You Were There and Soar Above the Madness: Surviving Office Politics Without Losing Your Mind, Your Job, or Your Lunch. She currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she enjoys gardening and playing with words. Drop her a line at http://www.that-writer.com.
Devotions From The Garden provides the reader with daily devotions or anytime devotions, which discuss aspects of the garden and align with the similarities we have in our relationship with God. Each devotion starts out with a Biblical scripture, then goes on to discuss a topic relating to the garden, closely followed by a comparison of the garden’s topic to our relationship with God, and ending with a prayer.
I do not know much about the garden or gardening in general. However, I still came to find Devotions From The Garden quite interesting and helpful, even though I may have stumbled through some of the devotions discussing the garden. Each devotion is accompanied by a beautiful colored image from the garden. There are even sections where the images take up two whole pages at once. The reader’s place can always be kept by a beautiful complimenting ribbon place marker.
I would recommend Devotions From The Garden, especially to all gardeners and lovers of the garden itself. It can be purchased for oneself or given as a beautiful gift to a fellow gardener.

My Review:
Daily devotions are a part of my life that didn't come easy at first. We are living in a generation of always being in a hurry. I had to purposely make time in an already busy schedule to include time with God. And while that is a very sad way to look at it, it is an honest assumption. Taking time to slow down in our very fast paced world especially to spend time with our Father is always a good thing and will benefit us greatly.
The special thing that I find great about this devotional are the beautiful photographs that are included throughout. I love, love, love flower gardens and this book brings you the most brilliant in pretty flowers but that's not all. It has the most essentials that most devotionals include but it also has lessons or daily devotions that are completely related to the subject of gardening. This book is perfect for the gardener in your life.

Filled with photos of garden beauty, this devotional brightens your path regardless of the time or the season. Organized in the fashion of a gardening manual, you discover a connection between sowing seeds in the ground and the sowing of God's words within your spirit. Both of which begin with God's transforming Grace.
With every two page devotion, you discover God's word, a gardening thought-hint-inspiration and a beautiful prayer which ignites a peaceful moment of contemplation with our Lord. With such a hurried life style, these moments become treasures in which you quickly relinquish your cares as you bask in His peace. Think about those times when you sit on a covered patio, an ice tea is at hand, there is a gentle cool breeze as the sun goes down. It seems so quiet, so peaceful, and so refreshing. Or maybe the sea breeze is gently kissing your face as the waves are lulling you into a joy far removed from your daily cares. Now consider your garden spot, a place that is so quickly available... make a little spot of comfort, one that you can sit and ponder the glories (the blessings) that are sprinkled with nourishing love. Joyous moments just for your own peaceful retreat.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 This devotional becomes your "Miracle Grow," MrsK http://mrskbookstogo.blogspot.com/
Are you a dormant bulb or a radiant blossom? Do you feel lifeless, worthless and stale as the harshness of life’s cruel winter overpowers you? Rejoice in God’s promises for you. He will give you fresh joy and new hope; He will give His beauty for your ashes. All will see His transformation in you. You are His most precious child. Lord, thank You for working in my life. I know that I will blossom to fulfill Your call in my life. Thank you for filling me with Your joy. Allow me to spread it to others. God works even in the dormant, fruitless seasons of your heart. He will pour out His grace so that you will blossom afresh and spread His joy around you. Precious Father, You are faithful to Your promise to give me grace in my heart and in my life. He is able to clean up your life and to make the soil of your heart fertile. His forgiveness and mercy will wash over you each morning like gentle rain. God sows His seeds of divine love and goodness in you to help you to blossom and flourish as a Spirit-filled Christian. God is a loving God of mercy, grace, and forgiveness. He plants hope where there is pain, love where there is bitterness, dreams where there is brokenness. Our Lord will grow and produce fruit in you in His name and for His glory.

This is a great book for quick morning devotions! It's a bit thicker than I expected and the cover is beautiful. I enjoy the authors take on gardening and flowers and how she spins God's love in ways that gardeners understand. I love the pictures in the book and I think it is well put together with Biblical truth. This takes our everyday ordinary and turns it into something that relates to God, because where does the garden come from anyway?! This would make a great gift book or even just to share.
Five Stars.
