The enemy does not want you to come into your destiny. He wants to stop the vision the Lord has given you. The enemy has heard about your progress in God you are making and he is out to stop it. (Barbara Wentroble, Prophetic Intercession, Page 22)

The author defines prophetic intercession as:

* Seeking God's presence in order to converse;
* Meeting with God and hearing Him on behalf of others;
* As a result of seeking, meeting with and hearing God;
* Then, speaking forth the mind and counsel of God. (Page 86)

There was some good counsel in this book in respect to prayer and intercession, but the book is a bit jumpy and goes from one topic to another and doesn't flow smoothly. Also, some of the questions for reflection at the end of the chapters seemed like they were tacked on at the end with not much thought in my opinion.

My favourite chapter was the last chapter 12. This chapter dealt with preventing backlash from the enemy. Sometimes when the enemy sees our progress in the Lord, he will attack us. The author gives some advice how we can overcome this backlash. She says, "Increased ministry requires increased intercession" and writes about how we should seek spiritual accountability in our spiritual walk by being part of a good church and having spiritual advisers.

This book is an excellent read for anyone wanting to dig deeper in prayer. It gives much understanding into the how and why of different ways to pray.
