You've read DEAD CLOWN BARBECUE and now you want more, more, more! Well, sometimes in this dark, cruel world we actually get what we want, because here's DEAD CLOWN BARBECUE: EXPANSION PACK, another eight similarly deranged stories for your reading ecstasy.
(No previous DEAD CLOWN BARBECUE reading experience required.)
This 21,000-word collection contains the first-ever publication of "Gave Up The Ghost," the basis for the horror/comedy short movie directed by Gregory Lamberson, that will appear in the upcoming anthology film CREEPERS. In addition to a report from the movie set, this collection contains...
"The Car." A pair of vampires get together for an evening of vicious fun. "The Loneliest Jackalope." Bunnies with antlers! You can't go wrong with bunnies with antlers. "Inside the Boxes." Whatever is in there can't be good... "A Bit of Christmas Mayhem." Andrew Mayhem vs. a trio of axe-wielding Santa Clauses. "Scrumptious Bone Bread." It's not just for giants anymore. "A Flawed Fantasy." Sometimes, two girls at once isn't the best idea. "Tin Cans." What will you hear when you put one to your ear?
Bram Stoker Award-winning author of a bunch of demented books, including PRESSURE, DWELLER, CLOWNS VS. SPIDERS, AUTUMN BLEEDS INTO WINTER, MY PRETTIES, the official novelization of ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES, and lots of others!
So I'd read the original Dead Clown Barbecue a while ago but decided I'd try out kindle unlimited on a whim and this was the first book I picked up for that. It was everything I've come to expect from Jeff Strand's stories with a lot of black humor and introspective villains and unfortunate situations including a variety of bizarre settings and set pieces. Also it had some of Strand's own accounts of real life situations that were pretty awesome and gave the same feeling as his fictional stories. I'd love to work on a movie with Mr. Strand, but I'll settle for reading what he writes as that's at least reasonable.
This expansion pack definitely goes with Dead Clown Barbecue. Strand's story "Gave Up The Ghost" is also an excellent part of the Creepers Horror Anthology movie, which I highly recommend if you get a chance to see it. None of the other stories (as well as the original DCB novel), save for Gave Up The Ghost, are for the squeamish, make no mistake! If you like Jeff Strand, or horror comedy, definitely pick this and the original book up!
Creepy/Fun addition to Dead Clown Barbecue - which is a Must Read for those who enjoy gallows humor. Jeff Strand is a master of horror/comedy, one of my favorite authors.
