I went to the cinema museum for the first time yesterday and bought this for a friend because we’d talked about gaslight and then i missed the last train home and was facing a two hour bus ride and this was my only potential companion. It was kind of really bad. I love ingrid bergman though they call her Saint Ingrid in this :) my saint
Ingrid Bergman would have been 100 this week. Unimaginable. We binged on Bergman's films Thursday on TCM, watching 'Autumn Sonata', 'Casablanca' and 'Gaslight'. We've seen 'Casablanca' so many times that between us we know all the dialogue. I saw Ingrid Bergman, live, one time on stage in London in 1978, with Wendy Hiller. So I pulled out this little book I'd had for years, and it was quick read: listing every film she ever made, along with dozen of photos and newspaper reviews. This book only went up to 1970; she died in 1982 of breast cancer. Very much a fan book. Very little analysis, none needed, the photos were enough. There can never be too many photos of Ingrid Bergman. And I am a fan.
