Single mom Demi Adams is working on her second app. Just before its launch, she decides to hire help for her two year old son. The admission of her need for help increases her depression and anxiety, creating an atmosphere that only a skilled professional can handle.
Marshall the Manny takes great pride in being a private childcare provider. He takes even greater pride in helping single parents and families find stability that allows the entire household to thrive. As soon as he meets Demi, he becomes captivated by her. She is just as easy to love as her son. Regardless of his rule to not fall for the moms he works with, Demi takes hold of his heart with no plans to let go.
After the app launches, Demi and Marshall have to choose to make things personal or call it off so Marshall can be on to his next family. The decision seems easy enough, but after a random trip, fate steps in to decide…

It’s intriguing how the author simultaneously subverts gender roles while conforming to patriarchal standards 😄. I just feel four stars might be a bit generous, I’ll blame it on the fast-paced connection.
What a cute read. Demi needed someone to not only take care of her son Denver while she worked, but a man who could help nurture him, as his father was not around. Marshall to the rescue. This man was heaven sent for real. Great with children, can cook, clean, caring, and willing to do whatever to make life simpler for you. Yes, sign me up! It was a no brainer that the close proximity would lead them to a great love. Such a feel-good story!
Not a bad book at all it just felt like nothing really happened.. to ME! I’d say this is a good palette cleanser when you’ve been in the hood too long or on an emotional roller coaster. I enjoyed everything in the beginning but it reached a point where I was saying “okay what else.” If you’re regularly a novella reader this may be perfect for you though. The characters are likable and it’s an easy read.
Marshall: The Manny is such a great, fast-paced read. Seeing how love came to Demi and Denver in a special way is a huge plus. Seeing that Marshall was willing to be that man who was everything Demi needed was the icing on the cake.
Wowwwwwwww I loved every minute of this read. Marshall was hands down one of the best men you could read about in a book. Oh how Demi got so lucky. I loved Marshall for Demi and Denver they deserved that.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a short read, under 2 hours, so I read it in one day. I downloaded this book to my Kindle because 1- I loved the cover (he is fiiinnnneee), and also, I was intrigued because you usually find the FMC being a nanny, not the MMC.
This was an instalove book, which I didn't have a problem with. Looking at the page count, I knew things would move fast.
Character: MMC- Marshall I loved how Marshall knew what he wanted and went after it. He knew that he was going above and beyond for Demi, but since he had been attracted to her from the first time he met her, he didn't waste any time showing rather than telling her his intentions. I also loved the way he cared for Denver.
FMM-Demi I loved that Demi was about her shit, using her son as motivation to pursue her dreams. She represented many working moms by being burned out trying to balance building her app and being present for her son, who she loved dearly.
Drama Meter 🔥 (Scale of 1-5) I would give it a 1- low drama. You could honestly give it a 0.
Spice Intimacy Meter ❤️🔥 (Scale of 1-5) I would give it a 5 it wasn’t until about 50% into the book that they were intimate, but the scenes were a 5 - she talked him through it lol
Thoughts while reading: Aww, the fact that Marshall said he got both of them already 😍 Kids love to be cockblockers 😂😂 We all need friends like Jess. Got Demi together with the quickness. Damn $10K a month for childcare services is crazy work I love how Marshall lets Demi handle her business This was such a sweet love story 😍
Overall thoughts: If you've been reading a lot of urban fiction with lots of Shoot 'em Up Bang Bang, this is a great palate cleanser read. It's short and sweet.
“Do I need to start calling you throughout the day to make sure you’re eating and taking breaks?” 😭
Marshall would’ve had me ready to give him a baby after day one and on one knee within a week! 😩🤣 Marshall made sure sis came home and all she had to do was, relax. The cooking, cleaning and making sure baby boy was straight. Although it was his literal job. He went above and beyond for her. I too would’ve fallen in love. lol because, whew! 😅
He was SO perfect for Denny. Every time that precious baby called and reached for him I cooed.
Demi was such a boss. I loved how sis didn’t let her past deter her from becoming successful and being the best mommy should could be. Sis worked her ass off and everything worked out beautifully in the end.
I loved the relationships they had with their family and friends. Speaking of friends. the mention of Elite made my little heart happy. If you’ve read the Mister series then you know he is the FIRST mister we meet. 🥹 It’s always so nice hearing about the guys/girls from that series.
I screamed “I knew it” at the end! 💕 I was so happy to read about all the amazing things that happened to/for the both of them.
I’d love to get a back story on Marshall and a follow up story.
Let me tell you something about Marshall the Manny, this man came in like a wrecking ball with a diaper bag, a whole lotta heart, and a mission to love, restore, and recharge Miss Demi in ways she didn’t even know she needed. What started as “Mar-Cho” turned into “Daddy for Denver,” and baby, we are not mad about it!
Marshall didn’t just show up, he showed out. He brought patience, presence, and a calming energy that wrapped around that household like a warm blanket on a cold day. Demi got a partner in peace, and little Denver? That baby got himself a real one. From storytime to real talk, Marshall met every moment with grace, humor, and just the right amount of sass.
So if you’re looking for a manny who’ll love your little one like they’re his own and leave you wondering how you ever did it without him, Marshall is your guy. 10/10. Would absolutely recommend. Just make sure you’re ready, because this manny don’t play!
Demi was raising her son alone when she hired Marshall as her nanny for her son, Denver, due to her heavy workload. Marshall was just what she needed for Denver as well as for herself. Marshall was patient, kind, considerate and loving from the beginning with both Demi and Denny. The family bond that was formed with Marshall, Demi and Denny was so heartwarming. Denny and Marshall telling each other that they loved one another was such an touching part of the book, it brought tears to my eyes. This was such an emotional, feel-good story from the very first page. It just gave me all of the feels the whole time that I was reading it. If you're looking for a delightful, no drama story, this is the one for you.
Sometimes, you have to play the hand that you're dealt. You can fold or make something out of it. Demi was in the driver's seat and was definitely a boss.
The story of Demi and Marshall and her son, Denver, was absolutely darling. It was calming, nourishing, and full of support. I loved how Marshall made sure that Demi was seen and appreciated for her accomplishments. He allowed her to handle her business without worry. He protected her heart. The love he showed Denver and Denver's love for him was too cute!
In return, Demi showed her love and appreciation for Marshall allowing her to do her and loving and protecting Denver. She celebrated him and was an encouragement to him.
One of the best parts about their story is that no one was tripping about 💰. It was not an issue.
Yes honey! Marshall was fine and a real one. He was selfless, loving., caring, and perfect for Demi. Her baby daddy was a non factor so she closed herself to love. She put all her energy into being a good mom and successful business owner. Deciding to hire Marshall to her a reprieve changed everything. Marshall was attracted to her from jump Street but he tried to keep it handsome. He did and said all the right things. His actions spoke loudly and Demi answered.
If you like feel good stories where love happens organically, then this is the book for. Sweet, romantic, and endearing.
B. Love 💐the queen of chocolate delights, cover models 👀 for book promotions, sales & reviews👀😮💨‼️Honestly, it should be against the law in fifty of these United States 🇺🇸 of America for that man on that cover to be that (expletive) airbrushed fine 🤷🏾♀️🤭‼️I momentarily digressed, Demi (and family) hit the jackpot with “Marshall: The Manny” he the total package: professional, intelligent, industrious, domestic engineer & a retinal connoisseur aka eye candy 🍭 🤭‼️…Oh, and the book was decent too.
This was so cute!🥹 I literally smiled the entire time of reading this. Okay maybe not the *entire* time, but from chapter two til the end, you could see all of my teeth.
I really liked Marshall and Demi, separately and together. Everything between them just flowed so smoothly. I also really liked how much Marshall loved Denver and how their bond felt natural.
I wish this book was longer or there was a follow up or something. I just don’t want Marshall and Demi’s story to end 😩 But it’s okay. Their story has a very cute conclusion.
What can I say about Marshall except I wish I could find me one, lol. B. Love always captures each character whereas the reader can use their imagination in order to somewhat experience what she was trying to display. I loved the way Marshall came in and made Demi and Denny world feel complete, he didn't rush things nor did he over stepped he allowed her to go at her own pace and all falling in love with the both of them; it takes a.strong man to be able.to stimulate a.woman's mind as well.as.her.body giving her the desired effect she yearned for great read.
Loved the Manny!! Everything was done in time eve with it being a short read. It’s an inevitable of a proximity you didn’t know you needed. Mashall was way more than a Manny and it showed day one. Demi wanted him not just to take care of her son but to also allow her baby boy to have a good role model in a man that he will see on the daily. See how he cares for both was sweet to read. The way his relationship with Denver and how he was willing to be that man for him all while being everything and more to Demi was refreshing.
I really loved Marshall & Demi’s story 💕📖. It was a short, quick read, but it never felt rushed or incomplete—instead, it felt perfectly paced and deeply satisfying ✨. Marshall came highly recommended as a manny, but he ended up becoming so much more to Demi and her son, Denver 🥹💙. Their connection unfolded so naturally, and it was refreshing to read a story with no drama, just genuine love, warmth, and growth ❤️🌱.
Thank you, B. Love, for the perfect reading palate cleanser 🫶✨.
Demi's juggling it all! As a hard-working, successful single mom, her one goal is to hire a manny to help with her son while she launches her new app. Enter Marshall—a pro at what he does, but he’s never felt this way about a client before. What starts as a professional relationship quickly turns into undeniable insta-love. 💖 I couldn't put this light-hearted, fast-paced read down! If you're looking for a feel-good romance, this one's for you!
Marshall: The Manny by B. Love was such a sweet and romantic read. Made me wish I had a Marshall of my own. I loved Marshall for Demi. He showed and came with intentions of loving Demi and Denver. I loved how Denver called Marshall Mar-Cho. It was so sweet. I loved how even though Demi worked hard, Marshall wasn't intimidated by her. This book had me all in my emotions. I could definitely read it again. It was such a feel-good romance. Signature B. Love and I was here for it all
This was a cute story from beginning to end. I liked how this author showed Marshall as a male nanny or child care provider and showed that a man can take on rearing a child just as much as a woman. I liked the chemistry between Demi and Marshall and that she allowed him to be a man and didn’t try to emasculate him because he was the one taking care of her child or her home. These two showed what a real partnership looks like in a relationship.
BIG MARSH! Marsh locked in early! Marshall was a school teacher turned Manny to further fulfill his desire to teach kids and help parents. Plus, he charged 10k a month. Demi was an entrepreneur & single mom to a 2yr old, Denver. As she’s getting ready to launch her next big app her friend convinced her to give a nanny a try & it was up & stuck ever since.
Loved how protective marsh was over Denver. & I love the role he stepped into with Demi just making sure she was straight. THEN when they both locked in?!? Yea, you did your big one💚
I love this book. Marshall was on his grown man s—t. He found his true love in Demi and loved her son as if he was the one that went half on a baby. I also love how Demi let her guard down to allow Marshall to be what she and her son needed in their lives. She didn’t allow the hurt and the actions of her son’s father keep her from giving them what they both needed. And that was Marshall the Manny(:!!!!
This is a sweet love story and just in time for Valentines Day. i love the twist of the nanny being male but still strong and protective. I love the way he automatically fell in love with Denver and treated him like he was his son. If your looking for a feel good story this is the one for you. B.Love always comes through..
Marshall and Demi, Coming With All the Love and Energy
I need a Manny or a Mar Cho in my life!!!…
This was such a cute, shirt love story!!!…This book definitely gives you all the feels and smiles of 2 ppl coming together to love each other properly and correctly!!… Baby Denver was so adorable and I loved the way he attached himself to Marshall too!!!..
Mar-cho aka Marshall was just with Demi and Denver needed. This book was a different take on the nanny falling in love with the single parent. The roles were reversed. I love how their love started and grew so organically. This was so sweet and cute and pure. I was sad to see it end. Amazing read make sure yall cop it.
I'm simply giving it a 3 because the storyline had potential. Otherwise it would've been 2. I almost dnf because it was so cringe from the beginning. I get fast love and quick reads and novellas....love them. But this man was doing too much from day one. Was he a hired nanny or hired boyfriend? And 10k/month?! Ikyfl 😒
I loved it! Baby boy's donor made me mad in the beginning, but Demi's support system was solid! I understood her reservations about help, because I was like that with my children too. Marshall swooped in and saved the day. He was just what they needed to balance them out
When Marshall started by letting Demi know he was there to "service" her, I knew it was over. The way he demonstrated what service meant in all aspects of the word when it came to men and family. (insert me fanning myself)
Yep, let me get a Manny for my grown kids because I messed up.
I enjoyed this quick read. Marshall stepped into Demi’s world and made life easy for her… which is every woman’s wish, or at least mines. I can relate in how she found a man to step up to the plate as a “father,” and be everything she needed Marshall to be for Denver. How cute is the name for the newest addition to the family. Can’t wait to read where their next story leads them.

I love a FMC that is about her bag! Demi was put in a tough situation and when Andre decided he had better things to do but parent. Demi took it on the chin and handled business. In comes Marshall… the manny she didn’t know her heart needed. This was a quick read and it was beautiful.
