If he’s a mistake, she’s ready to make him herfavorite mistake.

Mallory Hurst has tried to live a life that makes up for past mistakes. But now she faces a huge ethical dilemma. Her pharmaceutical company’s unapproved, off-label use of a medication puts lives at risk, and her protests have fallen on deaf ears.

Hoping a trip home will clear her head, she boards a plane for California. And strikes up a conversation with a handsome stranger.

Joe Mason recently learned that the man he’s called father all his life…isn’t. At least that explains why he never measured up to his older brothers. Flying to meet his biological father for the first time, he meets a sleek, sexy woman who makes him want to mess up her perfect hair.

Shared conversation leads to a shared drink between flights, then when their flight is canceled, a shared bed overnight—where their rush of attraction explodes into a night of much-needed kinky fun.

Yet a night of hot, messy sex won’t fix anything—in fact, blowing off steam could have blown their lives all to hell…

All Messed Up is the type of book that I wish would have never ended. I LOVED SO many things about this story.

Mallory, the heroine, was going to L.A. to see her parents. She needed a break from her job to do some serious thinking, because things were not going well at her work place. All she wants to be is a good daughter, one her parents could really be proud of. So, she books a flight to visit her parents to explain just what has been going on with her job and to get some much needed advice. Her job is VERY important to her but, at the moment it has her life, all messed up.

Joe, the hero, is on the same flight, he too is all messed up. He just found out the man who he thought was his father all is life, is in fact not his real father at all. He’s on his way to L.A. to meet his real father, a man who has NO idea that he even fathered a child.

Mallory and Joe end up meeting when their flight has been delayed. It’s not long afterwards when the sparks start flying between them. They end up having some very kinky foreplay while waiting in the airport for word on when their flight would take off. I’ll tell you this, after reading that scene, I’ll never think of an airport waiting area in quite the same way again. Things accelerate even more when the flight is canceled and they end up sharing a hotel room together. These two went at it all night long and let me tell you, they were so HOT together. I was ready to COMBUST after reading that scene! Yes, things happened rather quickly between them, but for me right from the get go, I could definitely feel the attraction they had for each other. They fit perfectly together on so many levels. This book is VERY erotic the whole way through and Joe and Mallory get down and dirty MANY TIMES, but only with each other.

What was supposed to be only a fling between them ended up being SO MUCH MORE! As the story moves along, they become friends that really care for each other. Joe opens up to Mallory about his childhood, and his back story was fantastic and tugged on my heartstrings BIG TIME. It took a while for Mallory to open up to Joe, but when she does, the problems with her job and her story was every bit as good as his.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED JOE! He was strong, caring, protective, generous, and sexy, overall he was everything I want the hero in my romances to be.

I really liked Mallory too, but there were some moments when I wanted to reach inside the book and smack her upside the head. Thankfully she did straighten herself out and realized that Joe was the man for her.

In the end there was an epilogue that gave Joe and Mallory their HEA. Things were also wrapped up nicely for some of the secondary characters, but still left me wanting more.

All Messed Up is the second book in the Windy City Kink series and even though I did not read book one, Sweet Obsession, All Messed Up reads fine as a standalone. This was such a good read for me that I find myself really wanting to read Sweet Obsession too. I’m also excited that book three, Playing Dirty, is scheduled to release in January, 2015. This will be a MUST read for me.

If you find yourself in the mood for a REALLY HOT READ with a VERY GOOD STORY LINE, this would be the perfect book for you.

3.5 RATING- All Messed Up started so good! I loved the instant chemistry between the two characters, the dynamics were great. And the sexy parts were well done. Kelly Jamieson always writes great steam and she didn't disappoint here. Nothing crazy dirty but just sexy. Worth a mention, I'm not sure if I'd classify the hero as having a foot fetish, but there was some definite foot hanky panky going on and it was surprising hot. I'm not sure I would think the same thing if another writer tried to pull that off but the author really nails it.

Unfortunately, the female lead hit on one of my major pet peeves: she had major mommy and daddy issues. Urgh!! I get why she had some problems, I totally do. But for God's sake, when you get to be a certain age, do what the fuck you want! I know maybe it's unfair but I have zero tolerance for grown adults who cave to their parents, are filled with self doubt over all their decisions, yada yada yada. Give me a break! I really struggled with this part of the plot while reading this one. I'm sure most readers won't mind but I did.

The first half was stronger for me because of what I mentioned above but overall it was still an enjoyable read. I'm surprised that more of my friends haven't read this series, they are all worth a look! Book three was my favorite by far. I definitely want to go back and read more from this author. I just find her writing very readable and her romances very sexy.

If you are looking for a steamy read with all kinds of kinkiness, look no further than the Windy City Kink series by Kelly Jamieson. Let me warn you, you want to be reading somewhere privately! In All Messed Up, we meet two characters at crossroads in their life who never expected the other!

Mallory takes pride in the work she does, however, she does not agree with a recent decision. She decides she needs a break and heads out to visit her parents in California. Joe is going to meet his biological father. They find themselves on the same flight and then stranded on their way. They enjoy each other, but can they truly open up to something new?

All Messed Up was so damn sexy and steamy. It was an emotional journey for both characters and I enjoyed reading their journey and look forward to reading more of this series!

Happy reading!

Kelly Jamieson can write one hell of a love story! Joe and Mallory's story was written with the careful ease of a seasoned author.
In this very 'messed' up story you are introduced to a very anxious and stressed out Mallory, who is on her way to visit her parents because she is on the verge of a nervous break down. She never imagined that she was going to run into a very charming Alpha male! Joe is your very swoon-worthy Chicago Swat team police officer. Charming, good looks, and just a little adventurous **wink** wink**
The title of the books lives up to the plot line in the book and the developing story flows just as smoothly as the character development does.
You can't help but fall in love with both of these characters as their love story unfolds and they work their way through the "mess" that they have both been dealing with.
I can't wait to see what else is in line for this series! Great job Kelly Jamieson!

Holy freakin’ hotness! I have always loved Kelly Jamieson’s work but All Messed Up is the best work of her career. I’m having a hard time even articulating what I want to say about this book because it is just so damn awesome. A chance meeting, what is suppose to be a clandestine one night stand, two people who have no problem pushing each other’s boundaries, and who can’t stay away from one another no matter how hard they try makes this a book that is impossible to put down. I loved the intensity between this couple; the way they accepted each other baggage and all, how they knew when to listen and when to push, and the absolute need they had to be together even when it scared them. I am thoroughly in love with this couple and their story.

As an adult Mallory Hurst has tried to do the right thing including not disappointing her parents. A dilemma at work has her taking a week off to visit her parents in California to seek their advice. The last thing she expects is to meet a man in the airport; a man that will prove to be more than she ever expected.

Joe Mason’s life has been turned upside down and he’s headed to California to try and make some sense of it all. Getting stranded with a beautiful woman is something he ever expected and while he hopes they have time to explore the heat between them he’s not sure it’s a good idea. He soon finds out his first impression of her was way different than he expected.

From the beginning their attraction burned through the pages of this book and there is no doubt where they are headed. While they both figure their time together to be a one night stand, it quickly becomes evident it is so much more. I loved the way these two shared so much of their lives with the other; the way they confided their hurt, their fears, and their dreams. Yes this book was extremely sexual, yes they explored some “kink”, and yes they had what some might call a backwards relationship but it didn’t stop the fact that they formed a strong emotional connection as well.

If you are a Kelly Jamieson fan I have no doubt you will love this book and if you’ve never read her before I urge you to pick up this book; you will not be disappointed and will most likely want to slap yourself for not reading her sooner. Sexy yet amusing, emotional yet kinky…All Messed Up is an excellent addition to this series and this author’s best work to date.

Fans of erotica will find much to like in this read that is both familiar but with a touch of uniqueness in presenting its brand of kink. As the second installment in the Windy City Kink series it can easily stand on its own but with its own brand of comfort reading you'll likely want to read the previous installment too. With its likable main characters and appealing group of secondary characters it's easy to get drawn into this erotic world where two people take time away from life's pressures for a bit of sexual relief that ultimately becomes more.

Mallory was once a wild child who has locked that side away, but when pressures at work mount she's left feeling like she's going to explode. On a trip home to relax though she encounters the super sexy Joe which leads to a travel layover like no other where he encourages her to indulge. What follows are numerous scorching encounters along with a bit of unique fetish that brings both of them closer together despite what they thought they wanted initially. Mallory is a smart and likable heroine dealing with a serious issue that is unfortunately wrapped up too easily. She prided herself on forcing her wild side into submission but it left her choking and it's no wonder she jumped at what Joe was offering. All of this left me cheering for her and Joe to admit what they had together.

Joe too is dealing with heavy issues which has left him very tense and on edge. He just found out that the man who raised him, and emotionally abused him, wasn't his real father. While traveling to meet his biological father he encounters Mallory and sparks immediately fly. To outsiders he may appear serious-minded and domineering but with Mallory he shows a softer side. For too long he's closed himself off wary of opening his heart as his past taught him. With Mallory though he can finally open up and their mutual exploration proves that. He's a delightfully sexy and supportive lover and their sexual interludes crackle.

This was an entertaining story with a good flow that nicely balances the steamy side with the serious. The main characters are likable and easy to relate to with a connection teeming with sexual tension. Joe's friends are equally likable and I found myself wanting to know more about them. All in all this was a sexy story with familiar elements that brought comfort and entertainment to my reading experience and I recommend this book to those wanting an immensely satisfying read.

I have to say that I like the idea that a couple can meet somewhere like the airport and feel a chemistry that makes them want to see each other again. It was nice to read a book where things progressed as they should when a couple first meet. This couple had some extremely HOT sex initially, but hey - some relationships begin that way.

It was an easy read, as well as interesting. And did I mention HOT sex? Because this author knows how to write a sex scene that is so descriptive, you feel it in your lady parts. Big time feel it.

Anyway, I digress. Each of them has a dilemma that they are trying to deal with. The author doesn't drag anything out, and manages to make you curious about what each of them are dealing with, and how they manage the issues with the help of the other. On top of the...well, hot sex. Also accurately portrayed is all those feels you have after you meet someone that you are wildly attracted to, in all ways possible. How you want to know more about them. Help them. See them. Be with them. All in all, this was a great romantic read. It passed the Christy eye roll test (ask me if you don't know what this is, lol). Everything came across as believable.

Love works best when it’s all messed up!

Oh, what a wonderfully sweet, kinky story! Mallory is at a crossroads with her career and has some difficult decisions ahead. Joe’s life has just been blown apart by a long-buried secret and he is struggling to find his way back. They meet, quite by accident, at the airport as they both journey to LA for answers.

What was supposed to be just a one-night fling turns into so much more as they each lean on the other for support and advice as they figure their way out of their current situations. Their romance finds them uniquely well-suited for each other, sharing kinky predilections and finding safety that they’d long given up hope for.

Unlike the other two stories in this series, this story’s kink doesn’t include Dom/sub or power exchange issues. They do explore the need for trust and communication as the backbone of any relationship. It’s a fresh and thoroughly entertaining romance with characters you’ll instantly fall in love with. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

From the moment Joe and Mallory met at the airport they had a connection, but she was ruining from herself and her past. When their plane gets delayed, they find a very sexy way to spend their time. Realizing their is a deeper connection that he wants to explore, he only gets them one room when their flight gets canceled. She believes it will be one night, so she goes for it, even though it reminds her of her past.
The next day, when things get heated on the plane, they exchange numbers. One heartbreaking day, Joe calls and Mallory realizes there is more to Joe than she realized and that she is starting to care about him. She is trying to make better choices and trying to forget about a work problem. He is trying to forget why he went to California and the secret that ticked his life to the core.
When they get back to Chicago, will she be able to keep Joe away our will she finally realize that what she wants doesn't make her a bad person? Will Joe be able to get his life back on track? A great second book in the series.

This is one hot and sexy read. I love how Mallory and Joe meet and just have that instant connection. When they are together you find yourself just drawn in and fanning yourself over and over again. Joe is strong yet has this side of him that makes you want more. Mallory you can tell is trying to overcome things and figure out how to do the right thing. Together they just make so much sense. Even as Mallory thinks it is only a fling you can just tell it is so much more. I love that we still get a little bit of Sasha and Jack in this one too. I just have to say I wasn't expecting that kink when it came to Joe if you know what I mean. This is a fantastic steamy read.

This is the second book in Kelly Jamieson’s Windy City Kink series. It is an engaging, sexy story filled with passion and emotion and the characters are down to earth and easy to connect with.

This story is about Joe and Mallory, who meet by chance in the Chicago airport.
Joe is a policeman and he loves his job because he wants to help others. Mallory is a senior marketing manager for a pharmaceutical company. She works hard at her job and wants to make her parents proud of her.

Joe and Mallory meet at the perfect time and they are able to help each other deal with their issues. They are caring, passionate people and are good for each and make a great couple.

Book 2 in the series but can be read as a stand alone

Mallory is traveling to LA to visit her parents and get away from the stress at work. Joe is traveling to LA to visit his Dad. Instant attraction is there and when the plane gets delayed and cancelled they decide to act on this attraction. While in LA they continue to spend time together and Joe is all in for this to continue back in Chicago but Mallory is not so sure. What will it take Joe to get her to realize this is more than physical?

This entertaining book offers reader an engaging plot, steamy scenes, drama and plenty of emotional turmoil for it's characters. I liked Joe and Mallory. Their chemistry sizzled and it was very easy to sympathize with the dilemmas they were dealing with emotionally. A very good read. This is my honest, voluntary review.

What is the most wonderful aspect of this book is that these two characters are not perfect. They have problems. Problems we can relate too. They have pasts. Pasts that they are trying to overcome. One overcompensates and forgets who she is and the other puts up walls to try to mask the pain he feels- he becomes emotionally closed off. Mal and Joe meet in a airport on their way to figure things out. Mal is trying to gain perspective on a problem at work and Joe trying to figure out his life in general. He now knows why his dad who raised him was how he was to him and is hoping that this new destination will accept him. Along the way they get stuck in Denver and have a amazingly sensual night together. They start to reach out to each other and become what they need for each other. They support each other in their own way and accept each other. When they get to their destination Mal at first treats Joe horribly and it does bring back feelings from childhood but he brushes it off. She is now in the i must please mode and trying to forget what her and Joe did. Joe is off to face what he hopes is a good thing. For him he is left feeling inadequate for someone again. This prompts him to call Mal and their time together on vacation begins. Together they face Joe’s issues and try to tackle her problem while enjoying each other in body and in just fun. Joe is comfortable in his skin but feels as if he is not someone to be proud of and love, Mal just wants to please and not ruffle the waters. Joe in his own way helps Mal with her problem but helping try to find ways to solve it. She’s in a rock and a hard place not only with the dilemma at work but with herself. When they get back into town, Joe wants to continue the relationship but Mal runs from it. Only when she runs she strikes out at Joe and says some awful things. And you wonder why he doesn’t call or ask you for a chance. You brought back feelings from childhood. He let down his guard and opened up to you and you shut him down. Treated him like everyone else did. That is until Joe is in danger and she realizes what she let go of. She realizes she can be fun and let go and serious at the same time. Joe as a character is strong and flawed. He loves but has walls around that love to protect himself. He accepts who he is and embraces his life as a experience. With Mal he wants to experience everything and help her as well. He wants to be her support system and lover. Such a great way to write him. Mal is the one hanging on to herself by a tendril. She is losing herself to the new identity she has created. Created to please others and drown herself in guilt for her past. She can be kind and caring but also very cold. A book on two people who find one another and fall in love. Love that is supportive and beautiful. About finding yourself again and accepting who you are and who you are to be. A fun sensual book that will leave you with a smile on your face.

KINKY FUCKERY

That's a favourite phrase of my partner in crime on this blog and couldn't be more appropriate than with this book! I have not read any Kelly Jamieson before but, as an opportunity came up for an arc, I thought why not? And oh lordy, kinky fuckery indeed!!

Shared conversation leads to a shared drink between flights, then when their flight is cancelled, a shared bed overnight — where their rush of attraction explodes into a night of much-needed kinky fun.
Yet a night of hot, messy sex won’t fix anything — in fact, blowing off steam could have blown their lives all to hell…
Warning: Contains a hot cop, a neat and tidy executive, dirty talk, kink in an airport, mile-high shenanigans, a little foot fetish fun. And love, of course.

This was a quickie read for me, a fast fun fuck of a book! The story was just a little predictable but nicely written. Joe is gorgeous and hell yes, I’d join the mile high club with him. Mallory frustrated me at times because while some of her behaviour was understandable I suppose, I kept thinking "grow the fuck up woman" - but it's a page turner and at no point did I skip or get bored even when I wanted to slap her.....

And so…………….. To the kinky fuckery. From the first scenes of intimacy and sex in the airport their chemistry is an amazing, combustible heat. The dirty talk will without doubt get you hot and bothered and I raised an eyebrow or two through this one at some shenanigans! Still not sure about the foot fetish but on the other hand (or foot!) for Joe, I might be persuaded!

I actually think this one will appeal to those who love contemporary romance and also those liking erotica romance that’s not on the dark heavy side. An enjoyable quickie!

This steamy romance (second in the Windy City Kink series but easily read as a standalone) is the story of Mallory and Joe. Both heading to LA to deal with parental issues, when their plane is delayed at the airport an attraction between them turns into some delightful shenanigans to pass the time. While in LA they continue their affair, both thinking that when they are back home in Chicago it will end naturally and without regrets. But somehow, they both get in deeper than expected and when it's time to say goodbye, will they listen to their heads or their hearts?

I really enjoyed this story, to the point where I had difficulty putting it down once I started (and aren't those the best kind)! I liked Mallory's character - trying to be on the straight and narrow but in reality hiding her wild side that includes her attraction to sex and some kink on the side. She prides herself on the changes she's made in her life to prove to her parents that she is no longer the wild teenager she once was, but at the same time has buttoned herself up so tightly that with any change in her behavior she is afraid she will unravel. Her attraction to Joe therefore, and his willingness to indulge in her sexual side scares her and makes her hesitate to seek a deeper relationship with him. Joe is equally engaging as a strong, dominant man with a tender side that he hides well from his friends and lovers. He suffered from emotional abuse as a child (though it wasn't until adulthood that he realized what had happened) and this has made him wary of sharing his secrets with anyone - until Mallory comes along with the key to unlock his heart and soul.

The sexual chemistry sizzles between them and I found the love scenes to be steamy and well written, with some interesting kinky scenes that were titillating without being over the top. The secondary characters in the story added interesting dynamics to the overall plot and I enjoyed the interactions of the group of friends. Both Mallory and Joe have problems to overcome in the story and I thought they were interesting and well presented.

Overall I found this to be a steamy, fun and entertaining read with moments of tension and heat liberally interspersed throughout. I look forward to reading more books in this series! 4.5 stars.

Mallory Hurst and Joe Mason are flying from Chicago to California. Mallory is taking a break from a stressful job situation by flying home to see her mom and dad. Joe has just learned that the man he thought was his father really wasn't and so he's flying out to California to meet his biological dad. But when casual conversation turns to more over weather delays during their lay-over, Mallory and Joe discover that intense mutual attraction isn't something they can just get over by sleeping together one time.

There were good things and bad things about this book, which overall made it a distinctively MEH read for me. Aside from some silly factual errors (Los Angeles is not humid and American airlines don't give hotel vouchers for weather delays), there wasn't anything hideously wrong with this book. For much of it, Joe and Mallory were on parallel plot tracks, occasionally colliding for sex and angsty parental and job worries, making the story feel both a bit repetitive and meadering.

That said, there has been so much dominance and submission in romance novels in recent years that D/s has almost become synonymous with kink. That's not the case here, which I found refreshing. The kink here is a foot fetish, which I loved for being different, but wasn't explored as deeply or as interestingly as I thought it could have been given the relatively virgin territory of this particular sexual interest in romance. Plus there were a number of references to the heroine's "opening" as "creamy" which is a word that really doesn't work for me. That's a personal thing, but one a lot of romance readers seem to share.

I did enjoy Mallory's subplot, which was an ethical dilemma she was facing as a marketing executive in a pharmaceutical company. But while we got a lot of her worrying over the problem and discussing it with her parents, the solution ended up being summarized and hand-waved through conversations with Joe. I would have rather seen her actively working through the problem over the course of the book through conversations with her coworkers and supervisors.

All in all, not a great read, making it unlikely that I will pick up another of this author's books. Not bad enough to make me ragey, but not good enough to keep me interested.

Even though All Messed Up is book two in the Windy City Kink series, you can read it as a stand alone (I haven't read book one and I don't think it made a difference when reading this story). I have read a few Kelly Jamieson books before so I knew I was going to get lots of yummy hot scenes mixed with an emotional story and All Messed Up delivered. I was hooked from the beginning and was throughly engrossed in Joe and Mallory's story for most of the book.

While I am used to reading menage from Kelly Jamieson, it was nice to read a book with just these two characters learning each other, becoming lovers and eventually more. Joe and Mallory meet at the airport (I love this idea) and are both traveling out of Chicago to spend time with family (but for vastly different reasons). I really liked Joe. His character was easy to get invested in and fall for. Joe had me at the beginning and kept getting better and better throughout the book. Mallory was a divided soul, she suppressed what she really wanted for what she thought she should want out of life. It was interesting to see Mallory struggle with her true nature versus the person she thought she needed to be. All Messed Up turns a random hook up into something special.

Kelly Jamieson writes a great love story filled with heat, emotion and powerful stories. All Messed Up gives us more than two people getting kinky on a plane, it gives us characters you want to root for, characters that have layers and baggage they are sorting through. I really liked this story and even though things seemed to wrap up fast at the end, the journey getting them there was a treat!

All Messed Up will have you looking around the airport just a little bit differently from now on! If you have never read a Kelly Jamieson book I would recommend All Messed Up! It has heart, emotion, hot sex and great secondary characters (I need to go back and read Sweet Obsession for sure). If you have been a fan of Kelly's and her menage books you will be happy to see that the heat can still sizzle with just two main characters and this story is still packed with emotion and quality storytelling. Go 1-click All Messed Up and see why getting delayed isn't such a bad thing.

Joe Mason recently learned that the man he’s called father all his life… isn’t.

Warning: Contains a hot cop, a neat and tidy executive, dirty talk, kink in an airport, mile-high shenanigans, a little foot fetish fun. And love, of course.

Thoughts: This is the first book I've read by Kelly Jamieson and it won't be the last. It held my attention from page one. It was a fast read for me. The characters were well defined and I didn't feel that I had to read the first book in the series to know what was going on in this one. The strong mutual attraction that Mallory and Joe feel for each other runs deep. The flame that started in Denver that they felt they could distinguish once they went back to their separate lives but found that flame was unwilling to die but rather burn hotter. This is a must read.

Phew!!! Scorching hot second book in the Windy City Kink series by fabulous Kelly Jamieson.

Neither Mallory nor Joe are particularly looking forward to their respective trips when they are held over due to a cancelled flight. Their instant attraction and unexpected night of blistering passion leads to sharing of private details of their lives. It's not as if they were planning to see each other again.....

But fate throws them together again, or maybe it is luck. Regardless, the outcome is the same; what started as a fun one night stand with a virtual stranger, turns into a tentative relationship between two people who already know more about each other than their closest relatives do....

The characters are interesting and in particular Joe is a different type of hero with a more sensitive edge. I liked his rather disarming nature right off the bat. Mallory is slightly passive at the outset, but finds her voice during the course of the story and grew on me quickly. Especially once she decided to let her hair down and let go.

A romance with a pair of subplots playing out in the background giving the the main story some context. Well written, and that can't be a surprise from Kelly Jamieson. The steam is coming off in thick clouds and copiously throughout the book.

✨A steamy layover with a twist!✨

I've got to learn to stop making assumptions. I'd never read anything by Kelly before and made some quick judgments based on the cover, blurb, and the name of the series. I was very happy to learn my assumptions and judgments were wrong. To be honest, I was expecting all heat and sex and not a very good story, and for the first 25% it seemed I was right, and then the story really opened up. It went from two people exploring their attractions to each other to actually opening up and sharing what it was that took them on that trip to California in the first place. It helped that I really liked Joe and Mallory. I was a little surprised at how quickly they got intimate but I guess the settings were just right.

The book doesn't waste any time in capturing your attention. It started off that way and kept my attention throughout the book. I went into the book blind and realized there were hints to the next book in the series as well as characters from the first book. Thankfully, there was no confusion or overlap of the stories and it definitely reads as a stand alone novel.

In the end I can say I really enjoyed the story. Yes Mallory and Joe were combustible together and they certainly gave in to their attractions wherever they were, but they also had a relationship and emotional connection I really enjoyed seeing develop. So the book in a way lived up to some of my expectations and surpassed it in others. I'm actually looking forward to seeing who Kelly will write about next.

Mallory is on her way from Chicago to LA to spend a week with her parents relaxing and trying to make a decision about a difficult and stressful situation at work. Joe is a Chicago cop who is traveling to LA to meet the man he found out one week ago is his real father. Several flight delays and some scintillating conversation lead Mallory and Joe to fully explore their strong physical attraction to one another. In LA they end up spending more time together and what started as a quick sexy fling is turning into something more complex.

Despite their unlikely beginning, Mallory and Joe are easy characters to like and cheer for. We know that something is going on in Mallory's life and she is in need of something good in her life. The more we learn about her situation, the more I wanted things to work out for her. Joe is pretty great, and finding out more about his background only makes him more endearing. Their physical chemistry is intense and getting to experience them exploring each other's kinks was pretty wonderful. They both have some big issues in their life to contend with, but I kept hoping that they would realize a good thing when it was staring them both right in the face. Meeting Joe's friends was great and I quickly took a liking to all of them. I will definitely read more books in this series, and others by this author in the future.

Joe and Mallory meet on a plane going to the same place, but for very different reasons. Joe is going to meet his father who he just found out about from his grandmother. He never could understand why the man married to his mother was so hard on him and seemed to resent him. Once he confronted his mother, everything clicked into place. Mallory is going to visit her parents to ask for the advice on how to handle a very serious problem at work. She had disappointed them several years ago and would hate to do that again.

When they meet there is an instant attraction and when the flight is delayed they share an over the top hot moment cuddling and more under a blanket. When their flight is cancelled for the night they share a very passionate night together. They offered each other more than their bodies though as they talked about their lives and shared their hearts.

I so loved Joe and Mallory together. Kelly sure can write a love story. She draws you into the lives of the characters in this book and all the others I have read of hers. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

All Messed Up is the second book in the Windy City Kink series. But don’t let that deter you; this can be read as a standalone. After reading Kelly’s Rule of Three series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one.

You’re intrigued from the start when you learn why Mallory and Joe are traveling to LA. Then Mother Nature helps matters when a delay provides the perfect chance for a steamy layover.

I did struggle a bit with Mallory in the sense that she was trying to make amends to her parents for her past by trying to live the perfect life and be the perfect daughter so as not to disappoint them again. While I understood her struggle I felt that after her parents proved that they would stand by her she should have had a bit more faith in herself and them. Ultimately she did find her backbone which I was pleased to see.

As with some of Kelly’s others books there is an element of kink involved but it’s handled with realism, class and respect to those who enjoy it.

I love the way Kelly can take complex personal issues and steamy scorching sex and give you a great story. It’s a 4.5 star rating from me.

I just can't seem to get past the 75% mark....
I've completely lost interest in these characters :(

REVIEW:
This book started great - a chance meeting, a sizzling attraction, and some naughty but harmless fun. Sounds great right... meh!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of this book. A bit flirty and cheeky and some hot risky sex thrown in, I lived vicariously through this couple. But then things start to get messy, complications set in and I got bored. The story slowed down rather than speeding up and the added elements of best friends, crappy boyfriend, and job and father drama just made the story complicated and too much trouble to even be bothered about, meaning I had to drag my way through the last 20%.

Sometimes less is more... just 2 stars.

Okay, we all know that Kelly can write a really awesome romance, but this one? This one is probably my absolute favorite (so far) of all of her books I've read. Joe was a great character. He was so tough on the outside, trying to take care of Mallory, but he was so vulnerable when it came to finding acceptance. Mallory was just so confused about her job and was desperately trying to find validation from her family. I think together they both found what they needed. Looking forward to reading more about this group of friends. I would definitely recommend this book.
