Somewhere between 4.5 and 5. Maybe one of my top favorites in the first half of this year and it’ll not be easy for something else to come close.
The scheming, the romance, the various fraught relationships, the villains - everything in this book is top notch and I’m so glad I decided to pick up this WebNovel. I’ve read 5-6 webnovels this year because I was in a slump and nothing comes close to this. It can get draggy at times because it’s just too big but it also keeps one’s attention captured, never letting us go.
Now that the drama adaptation has started filming, I’m even more excited. He Yu and Meng Ziyi seem like interesting casting choices but we’ll have to see how well they embody the roles. I’m more worried how they’ll incorporate this more than 800 chapter novel into a 40 episode drama.
