Erhard Dahl, an experienced language teacher, here offers a wealth of resources and practical help for teachers. He shows clearly how pupils develop vocabulary and grammar, and learn to read in the foreign language. He explores the different approaches needed for Classes 1 to 4, where, for example, imitation can be used, to the older years, where I-specific speech becomes possible. He addresses common issues, such as questions from parents about the speed of their child's language acquisition, and whether to use a textbook.
Solid introductions to teaching English/ foreign language in a Steiner setting; quick read. It contains the main points of what is taught when and in what manner for lower, middle and upper classes. I have the book in both English and German and chose to read English, but will go back to it once I begin teaching and read it in German. I enjoyed reading this book.
As a Waldorf teacher of English, this was great: very helpful for explaining to parents what I do, pertinent research on how kids learn well explained, creative ideas for teaching grammar and vocab, etc. (Plus, Erhard Dahl is just simply one of my favorite people in the world ;-) )
