Fabio loved to sing! Any change he got, he would sing his heart out, whether anyone wanted to hear it or not. Fabio thought he was amazing and every night he dreamed about being famous one day. The next day, Fabio spotted an audition flyer for a talent show. When it was his chance to perform in front of the judges, Fabio’s performance was so bizarre that overnight, he became an internet star! All of a sudden, the life Fabio had known, changed in ways he had only dreamed of. Glitz and glamour surrounded Fabio and he even landed a recording contract! He had a new life, new look, and new friends. There was only one problem and it wasn't Fabio’s dancing. Before he knew it, Fabio lost everything he thought he wanted. When he finally came to his senses, Fabio realized that through all of his fame and fortunes, he lost what really mattered most to him, his friends, and wanted to make amends. His friends told him they would have to think about it, but they took him back and in the end, Fabio received more than he could have ever dreamed of!
Higher Level Thinking: Analyze/Evaluate 1. Why do you think Fabio wanted to be famous so badly? 2. Do you think Fabio was trying to prove himself? 3. If you had to choose between fame and our friends, which would you choose and why? 4. Rewrite the ending of the story. How would Fabio have felt if his friends didn't take him back? 5. Imagine the life you dream of having. How is it different from the life you are living now? Would you really want everything to change? Why? or why not? and explain.
