The book is very PHP-ish look at Django. Sure, it teaches you how to do the most basic stuff, but along the way it teaches you bad practices that aren't common for experienced Django devs. Definitely, only read it if you really don't have any MVC framework experience and need to start somewhere, otherwise - go for Two Scoops of Django.

Short intro just like the title says. It was an ok complement to the online tutorials for django. But the translation is poor which can be quite annoying/frustrating in a couple of places. I recommend using Django Essentials as a better complement to other Django tuturials.
