I’m thrilled I was able to read a beta copy of book 2 in this series! I’m usually the type to throw a book away if it doesn’t captivate me within the first few pages, but let me tell you, Lira had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I finished it in one sitting. The characters felt so authentic, and reading it was like watching a book version of Netflix and chill. The pacing was spot-on, and the witty banter between the characters was funny and reminded me of the relationships in my life. I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to discover what Lira has in store for us next.

Lira Somers Mysteries are like your favorite comfort food or your favorite show on repeat: you know what you’re getting but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. In fact, it makes me love this series more. This book is fast, funny, and full of the kind of banter that makes you cackle with delight, full of a gaggle of colorful side characters! And book two adds a nice romantic element, which this girl is NOT complaining about 🤣 I’m only sorta mad at myself for reading this in a single day and not savoring it more, but that’s what the reread is for, am I right?

The Lira Somers universe is one of my favorite universes to transport myself to!! It feels like a big warm hug, but also keeps you on your toes all at once. It honestly feels like watching Gilmore Girls with all of the three dimensional side characters and imperfectly wonderful FMC.

I loveeee how funny and witty Lira is, she always has me laughing at her impulsiveness and antics. It made it so hard for me to put the book down because I NEEDED to see what happened next. There are also so many aspects to this story that leave you wanting more of each, but that are patiently and carefully curated for an amazing and thrilling reading experience. Like the love interest, Tomas, for my romance girlies!!! Need I say more??🤭

I enjoyed the first book in this series and eagerly awaited this second book. I wanted to see where the author would take Lira and Detective Tomas' story and man did she not disappoint. In this instalment Lira is still having dreams but these ones are hitting close to home and those she is growing to love. There are a few new characters but loyal casts from book one. And there's still the quick banter between Lira and Tomas plus Lisa's impulsive and determined spunk.

This book was full of surprises but I liked how Lira is maturing, albeit slowly at times, as her story progresses. Detective Tomas is a rare gem of a man, patient, understanding, values her as a person and doesn't see her as crazy like his coworkers. I can't wait to see where they go next because the ending of this one left my jaw hanging......

My new favorite mystery series. Lira Sommers is a no-nonsense, lovable hot-head with a traumatic past that is perfectly imperfect on so many levels. If you love mystery, messy characters, and a touch of romance, this book is for you. Bullard makes you fall in love with her characters through gripping storytelling that makes it so hard to put down. Lira battles such human inner-conflict that is further complicated by dreams she can't decide are real or fiction. The wrestle between needing people to listen and "am I crazy?" is so compelling. Not to mention Detective Tomas, the calm in her proverbial storm. He's smart, attractive, and supportive in a way that makes you beg for him to hurry up and kiss the girl. For me, this was 5 out of 5 stars, highly recommend to people who love mysteries, romance, and a hint of the paranormal.

WOW!!! All I can say is Liz did it again!! I CANNOT WAIT FOR BOOK 3!!
Chasing Nightmares was such an experience, from watching characters’ personal growth to solving mysteries and cases to building romance. This book triggered so many emotions for me. I was cackling, sitting at the edge of my seat, quite literally talking to these characters as if they could hear me. The book is well paced and enticing, it was hard to put down, and by the end of the book, I still have not had enough of Lira and her crazy adventures.
