Lovely book, stunning photography - exactly what you think it would be like, plus more. I loved the range of normal types of weeknight meals to foods for feasts and celebrations. With Shedden as a well-known Scottish baker, there is plenty of baked goods on the menu but not *too much* - just the right amount, and I like that some of the baking recipes are quite easy, while others present more of a challenge. The book spans food you need for three months (November -January), from pre-Christmas preparation to Christmas dinner foods, Hogmanay recommendations, and meals for quiet. cold January days with a Burns Night chapter at the end. I liked the personal stories in between, about Christmas trees, wreaths, advent calendars and such. I only wish it were longer! February, perhaps? It's a book geared toward making you love winter, and I believe it succeeds.
