Thanks to Edelweiss and Epic Ink for the digital copy of this book; I am leaving this review voluntarily. This Young Adult biography of megastar Sabrina Carpenter was a great read. My 2nd daughter is a huge fan, so we both read the book and compared notes.
First off, I loved the variety of the photographs, which total over 50 pics that cover Sabrina’s life. The book shows her struggles, her triumphs, and her personal life, too. She’s had a multi-dimensional career. The book includes five sections:
Childhood and inspirations: Starting when Sabrina posted videos of herself singing covers of Christina Aguilera and Adele songs on YouTube Chart-topping pop anthems: Including “Espresso,” one of the most-streamed songs globally on Spotify in 2024, with over 200M streams in its first month Buzzworthy performances: A recount of her highly styled live performances and sold-out world tours Fashion: How she has become a trendsetting icon, with whimsical looks and collaborations with high-fashion designers Pop culture influence: Why Gen Z resonates with Sabrina and her playful lyrics and tongue-in-cheek humor
I had only seen photos and read negative things, but when my granddaughter said her idol was Sabrina Carpenter I needed to find what all the hype was. This book covers just about all you need to know, from her childhood to her talented family. Covers her albums her song writing and early tours. And has her own words in various interviews covering the good and negative. Will be a great gift for my granddaughter, she will enjoy lots of color photos. Received from Goodreads for an honest review.
I love Sabrina and this book was just awesome to read! It was really interesting to get a look into her life from before she even became famous and I really loved how this book was written. This is such an incredible collection of books I need more artists.
Thank you to goodreads and the publisher for sending me this book!
