A really useful guidebook to planting in different kinds of containers. I especially appreciated that each plant was clearly identified so that reading was much easier; in other words, you didn't have to stop and look up what you were looking at as you do in so many garden books. I also liked the semi-soft cover which means that you really use it as a manual. It's meant to be used and not left on your coffee table unless you are taking a coffee break :)
Originally gave it a three star because it focuses too much on flowers rather than veggies like I wanted, but it does cover the basic quite well. It has perfect illustrations for a novice like me and is packaged in a durable waterproof binding with pages that are also durable and glossy to withstand being references while one is actually in the act of potting. That practicality made me change it to a four star. For those of you interested in container veggie gardening - this book does scratch the surface and will get you started, but you'll want to seek other references for families of plants to pot together and more advances aspects.
Lots of samples of different combinations of plants and flowers, but not much detail on techniques or problem solving. Good intro for a novice looking for somewhere to start.
