THE FAR REACHING TENTACLES OF N’RYGOTH, Part Two You didn’t see that coming, did you? Neither did the Queens but now they have an ally on their side with an innate knowledge of N’Rygoth, which is good because they’re going to need every bit of help they can get. Palisade is overrun with tentacle monsters.

1/1 for plot 1/1 for characters and character development 1/1 for writing style (and art style) 1/1 for pace 1/1 for world-building/realism
Same badass shenanigans you'd expect after the first volume. My one complaint is that the art in the second half looks a bit sloppy compared to the first half, such as very bold, scribbly outlines instead slim, clean outlines.
Have I mentioned I love all the cursing? Especially since it’s mainly women. Women who curse= awesomeness. I love that one of the women is black. Don’t see many black characters in comics. Dee’s husband is back trying to get her to come home. The writing is killing me its so funny. Hanna in particular has some great lines this issue. I have to admit despite loving this, i’m confused by who two people were. I will have to go back and reread these close together at some point. But still, despite my easily confusedness, I really love this series.
How do Image keep peering into my brain and subsequently producing all these most excellent comics I never knew I needed? First Saga. Then Chew. Now Rat Queens. All wonderfully different yet so perfect for me as a reader.
This issue beautifully sets up some serious drama to come. And the scene with Betty and the edible friend was genius - I love that my initial reaction was blind acceptance of such an odd scenario because of course this world could allow for such a moment. More please!
"And... your head--" "Peppermint." "Mhmmmmmmm. Chomp. Munch, munch." "She's cut off." "Heh, well better her safely gnawing on you in here than a stranger out there... like last time."
Starts off with a certain character's signature humor; intensifies the middle with probably the best action sequence of the series so far; ends with an 'oh, shit, they're totally not prepared for it but we saw it coming' event. Excellent.
