He wasn’t what I was looking for, but we could be exactly what the other needs.
Adrian Jones Moving to Amada Beach was meant to be temporary. I’d finish my D.V.M. at one of the best programs in the country, then decide where I wanted to start my career. What I never saw coming–at the grocery store no less–was the pretty girl with the lightning gray eyes who didn’t even give me a second glance. But when a month passes and there’s no sign of her, my new job at the vet clinic is the last place I expected to see her again. The more she allows me to see, the more I’m charmed by Blake, and this little town she loves.
Blake Miller There’s this feeling of being stuck that’s plagued me most of my life, whether it’s due to bullies in school or being unsure of my plans for the future. It’s always been there. When the best of intentions leads to some questionable choices, the vision for my future slowly starts to come into focus. Maybe there is a career for me at the vet clinic that doesn’t involve medicine after all. And it’s no coincidence that these changes are happening after meeting Adrian, the carefree, sunshine-personified man who was hired by my father as the new vet assistant.
Ashtyn Kiana is an indie author whose debut novel came out September 2024. Her day job doesn’t leave a lot of room for creativity, so she started writing her first novel as a way to express that side of herself. Ashtyn writes loves stories that are heartfelt, emotional, and swoony with a good helping of spice! When she’s not writing, she’s probably walking her dogs, making macrame, or at a local coffee shop.
I liked him a lot. He was protective and sweet, open about his love for her and stood up for himself as well. She was… okay. I felt like a lot of her issues weren’t properly addressed, which was sad because I think anxiety is a fairly common problem.
Their meet up was cute, how they slowly trusted eachother more and I also liked their intimate scenes. However I personally feel like there were a lot of filler chapters and the book could’ve been a hundred pages shorter. I also didn’t like the ending, at all.
This was really wholesome with a splash of spice. I usually like a little more drama but I could appreciate reading about a healthy relationship and a green flag book boyfriend.
Adrian is such an easygoing and confident man that balances out Blake’s anxiousness and bluntness. She has a big heart and is caring but it’s hard for her to express her feelings. Adrian’s super patient with her, just wanting to gain her trust to spend time with her. The little things he did for her were adorable and very thoughtful, it showed how much he paid attention and cared.
I absolutely loved the small town and found family vibes in this. Some of those moments were my favourites like Polly and Blake’s interactions and all of the scenes with the Paulson boys, Blake, and Adrian.
I think this was longer than it needed to be but I liked how we got some insight into Grady’s background and what went down with Vivi and Arielle.
If you loved the first book, I think you’d love this one as well.
- Small town - Workplace romance - Black cat X golden retriever - Mental health rep - Vet assistant/student X receptionist - Found family - Boss’s daughter
First of all, a huge thank you to Ashtyn Kiana for this ARC!
After falling in love with Always Been Yours, I was really excited to dive into Between Us and it didn’t disappoint.
I absolutely loved Blake and Adrian’s story, there is something about their connection that felt so genuine. They are perfect together in that slow, healing kind of way that makes your heart ache in the best way. I really liked that part of the story takes place at a vet clinic, it gave the book a cozy, heartwarming vibe.

You should all read Ashtyn Kiana’s books! She’s such an underrated author. Both of her books are 5 star reads for me and I recommend them to everyone who loves to read romance 🫶🏻
YALL READY FOR THIS? (You’re not, and that reference will make sense once you read this book)
ANYWAYSSSS this book is one of the best contemporary romance books I have EVER read? And that’s not even a biased opinion about a friend and her work, it’s just the simple truth. I was lucky and blessed to be able to read this book in the beta stage, as I also read Always Been Yours in the beta stage, and the growth and development between that first book and this one is just insane and amazing. I cannot sing Ashtyn Kiana’s praises as an author quite enough. Her first book was phenomenal, so the fact that this second book is EVEN BETTER?? I have no words. Utter shock and awe. I cannot believe her beautiful brain and the world and characters it has created.
Between Us takes places several years before the events of Always Been Yours and while obviously I think everyone should read ABY, I would argue it’s not necessary to have read that first in order to read this one. It stands alone beautifully but is so special in the overall world of Amada Beach. I was really hoping we’d get a Blake and Adrian story and of course Ashtyn delivered 🥰
Blake and Adrian genuinely gave me everything I could ever want from a romance novel. They’re young adults starting out so there’s plenty of awkwardness and anxiety thrown in there, and even though they’re younger now than they were when I first met them, there’s no confusing their age here. They are fully acting like an 18 and a 22 year old and I appreciate that authenticity so much. Young love is exhilarating and embarrassing and all-encompassing and Ashtyn did SUCH an amazing job portraying all of that. AND as someone who worked in the veterinary industry for many years, I always love to see a veterinary-related setting and Ashtyn really took the time to do the research and get that part right which I so appreciate.
There’s also NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP. It’s like Ashtyn wrote this book just for me 🥰 Blake and Adrian really do just get each other and communicate as well as young adults their age can, and they have so much grace and patience for each other it was really such a joy to watch it all unfold 🥹 ALSO Blake’s best friends, Margo and Meera!?!?! Obsessed with them. OBSESSED I tell you!! I want them in my corner.
All this to say, Between Us just absolutely delivers on everything it promises (small beach town, workplace romance, insta-attraction, black cat FMC x golden retriever MMC, + the overall found family vibes of Amada Beach) and it does it wonderfully and beautifully and perfectly. I cannot get enough of Blake and Adrian, and I cannot get enough of Ashtyn Kiana.
Blake and Adrian are willing victims of the insta-attraction trope❤️ Blake is the town's softie, helping everyone in sight. Adrian is the new guy, in town to finish his veterinary education. Blake is still dealing with previous trauma and I just wanted to scoop her up. I love that there is no third act breakup. It would have crushed Blake and she doesn't deserve it 😭 Watching her grow and open up was beautiful. Adrian is the best golden retriever boyfriend, willing to drop everything for Blake. Blake's parents must be protected at all costs, what loving and welcoming people.
I really enjoyed this story! I couldn't put the book down, I eventually dragged myself to bed at 1 am because I had to work the next day! I'll definitely be reading the first book in the series and any others!
Being back in Amada Beach was the cosiest, homiest feeling & I honestly would like to stay here forever please and thanks! These two are the sweetest babies ever and Adrian is THE BLUEPRINT. I love that this book is set BEFORE book 1 -- which means, you can technically read it as a stand alone BUT reading them in order gives you so many sweet nuggets and cameos!

Thank you so, so much to Luna Literary & Ashtyn Kiana for the ARC of Between Us!
The relatability alone stood out the most to me. From nervous word vomit and friend codependency, to finally finding the right therapist, Blake is like so many of us…or maybe just me 😬😅
Then there’s Adrian. The perfect boyfriend without being over the top. He felt like a real person and not a character from a book.
Side note: I love when a sweet and innocent guy has a completely different side during sexy time 🥵😮💨.
This was a nice change of pace since I tend to read books with more drama. The wholesome vibes were the perfect reset button.
If you’re looking for a warm and fuzzy, feel good book then this is your next read
First off I want to say thank you to Ashtyn Kiana for accepting me as an ARC reader for this book!
Let me just say I love a black cat/golden retriever romance, hence why I myself (black cat) am marrying a golden retriever. But I enjoyed reading this romance and hearing Blake and Adrian's love story and love a good meet cute. Ahhh! I also like love a small town romance too! I also loved how we got more detailed background on Blake and a bit of a dive into mental health and therapy. I also haven't read a lot of work place romance but I really enjoyed this one!!
ARC Review: I give this book 3.75 ⭐️ and 🌶️ for spice level. Between Us was a good pallet cleanser for me personally. I love how the author touched on mental health and how therapy can help. The chemistry between the characters was refreshing with good banter. The way Adrian showed up for Blake during those hard times was true love. The only disappointment in the book was Blake proposing to Adrian lol that’s just me believing in the man popping the question.
this is my first Ashtyn Kiana book and it definitely won’t be my last! Ashtyn’s writing is exquisite and i found myself reading over her words with ease. the way some of her words flow together had me pausing and thinking, damn. (see ship in bottle quote for reference 😮💨)
4/⭐️ 2/🌶️
Blake & Adrian were e v e r y t h i n g 😚🤌🏼 i personally haven’t read too many books where the ‘grumpy’ is the MFC and the ‘sunshine’ is the MMC, but i have to say i absolutely loved it. i could relate to Blake’s stubbornness when it came to accepting help, coming from someone who always says, “no that’s okay, i can do it.” 😂😂😅😩
in the end, Adrian was exactly what she needed and i loved to see him consistently show up for her throughout the book. the way he says “nah” 🥵 Adrian gives me the vibe that he does NOT play about his girl.
i will definitely be returning to Amada Beach and am itching to go and read Grady & Vivienne’s story. i need more information 🤪
i also need to find a cloud necklace now 🌩️
a huge thank you to Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read this ARC 🥰✨

So I’ll admit that I don’t real a whole lot of contemporary romance, I’m not an ARC reader or anything, but I absolutely loved the first book in this series and was stoked to see another release from the same universe! I had to scoop it up right away. A.K. has a wonderfully perfect way of making so many types of readers feel seen. Reading how Blake experiences & deals with her anxiety was done excellently, and I just might take some of the advice she gave Adrian early on in the book since I related more to his approach towards his own mental health while reading. I loved all the references to ABY (if you haven’t read that one yet, I *highly* recommend it, though you would be fine to start with this one if you want!). Overall, this was an amazing sophomore novel from Ashtyn Kiana! I’m very much looking forward to reading anything else she releases.
ARC REVIEW 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️ Thank you to Ashtyn and Luna Literary This was heart shattering and immensely healing all at once!
The way this author touches so deeply on mental health and the real struggles of anxiety made me feel so seen and validated. The fmc Blake and MMC Adrian portray one of the most healthy and beautiful love stories that I’ve read in a while. They have a meet-cute randomly at a grocery story and neither one can stop thinking about the other even though they didn’t even exchange names. Blake has just graduated high school and has no idea what she wants to do while she watches her friends move on to the next chapter of their lives she stays to work for her dad in her hometown. She’s struggling with her mental health and she’s on a healing journey with her therapist.
Then there’s Adrian, he just moved to town, he’s 4 years older than her and in Vet school. He’s very focused on getting an internship at a vet clinic. When they serendipitously bump into each other again, there’s no way it doesn’t feel like fate. Adrian is very open about showing his interest while Blake is definitely feeling it , she’s so reserved with her heart. Since she’s never been in a serious relationship she knows she would want something more than just a casual hookup with him and that is way out of her comfort zone.
To some that may seem boring; but when you’re used to reading about toxic relationships, it’s so refreshing to read about one so healthy that it’s healing! I love a morally gray character in fantasy and don’t get me wrong I’m very much attracted to the bad boy vibes but there is just something sooooo sexy about a cinnamon roll, green flag, emotionally intelligent and available MMC. The way Adrian embraces Blake’s struggle with her mental health and adjusts himself and his actions to make sure he meets her where she needs him is the most romantic display of love. This book was devastating but in the best way I sobbed but tears of joy and in many places of sincere understanding. This is one you don’t want to miss and for my spicy gals the spice is SPICING! But not in a way that it takes up the whole plot!

I truly adored the story of Blake and Adrian; their bond had a sincerity that was incredibly touching. They complement each other in a gentle, restorative manner that evokes the sweetest kind of heartache. I truly enjoyed that a portion of the story occurs at a veterinary clinic; it added a comforting, warm feeling to the book.
Between Us occurs several years prior to the events of Always Been Yours. While I believe everyone should read ABY, I would contend that it's not essential to have read it first to enjoy this story. It shines uniquely but holds a distinct significance in the broader realm of Amada Beach. I truly wished for a Blake and Adrian tale, and naturally, Ashtyn came through.
Blake and Adrian truly provided me with everything I could desire from a romance novel. They are young adults beginning their journey, filled with a lot of awkwardness and anxiety, and although they are younger now compared to when I first met them, their age is clear. They are truly behaving like an 18 and a 22 year old, and I value that genuineness greatly. Young love is thrilling and awkward and all-consuming, and Ashtyn did SUCH a fantastic job capturing all of that. As someone who spent many years in the veterinary field, I always enjoy observing veterinary-related environments, and Ashtyn truly invested time in researching to accurately depict that aspect, which I greatly value.
The tale of Adrian and Blake revolves around love, but it also focuses on personal growth alongside someone who truly understands you. Actually perceives you deeply. Their bond was fragile in a manner that brought to mind my marriage. Aren't there aspects of ourselves that we fear revealing to others because we're still in the process of healing from them? This book connects with that emotion and normalizes it. Secure love—the type that embraces all your flaws—is what we all desire, and this narrative portrayed that wonderfully.
this was such a cute read! this didn't have a third act breakup, and as much as i claim i 'hate' them, i genuinely missed not having that extra drama lol. though, this actually really did not need one, and i feel like a third act breakup would have ruined this book and couple for me.
this takes place *i believe* 7 years prior to book one (always been yours (amada beach series book 1)), and i definitely had to remind myself of that when the mmc of book one was mentioned with his (in book one) ex, but honestly, i think having this as book 2 despite all of that was a good choice because then it just makes book one all that more special if that makes sense.
anyways, to the book. it was very instalovey (as mentioned and expected), but i did love the relationship between adrian & blake nonetheless. adrian was nothing short of a gentleman, and the way that he was, dare i day, devoted to blake and her happiness was actually the cutest thing ever. that man had me giggling so much bc he's just sooooo sweet (and i love getting a taste of an all-sweet man in the midst of my morally grey/black men 🤭) like i just adored him so so much. and blake, i loved she cared for the animals that much, that she would risk everything to save them and care for them (even if it was the 'wrong decision,' bc at the end of the day, she still cares).
i overall just had such a fun time reading this one, and yes i'm fully aware this review is late (life was life-ing) and i forgot, but it's here! better late than never, am i right? 🤣 but thank you so much to the author for the arc, i loved this a lot 💌
So um. Who gave Ashtyn Kiana the right to completely wreck me like this??? Massive thank you to Ashtyn Kiana for the ARC of Between Us - I feel like I just got hit by a tidal wave of emotions in the best possible way. I went in expecting a cute romance and left with my heart stolen, soul wrecked, and face permanently smiling. I’m in LOVE.
From the very first chapter, Blake and Adrian had me. Their dynamic is EVERYTHING. They’re young adults - messy, awkward, impulsive, soft - and Ashtyn captures that phase of life so beautifully. I appreciated how genuinely their age and uncertainty came through. Their connection felt so real, so emotionally honest, and yes… I blushed, laughed, and maybe teared up once or twice. (Or five times. Who’s counting.)
Also?? The setting?? A small beach town AND a veterinary clinic?? Consider me obsessed. It was cozy, vivid, and gave the whole story that warm, comforting feeling I absolutely love in romance books. It felt like a world I didn’t want to leave.
Now please join me in celebrating the most glorious detail of all: there is NO third act breakup. None. Zilch. Nada. Just two people learning how to love and grow and figure things out together, even when it’s messy. It felt so refreshing and honestly? Therapeutic.
Let’s not forget the best friend duo of my dreams - Margo and Meera!! I’m unwell. They were such a highlight and I would like to apply to be part of their friend group immediately.
In short: Between Us delivers exactly what it promises and more - golden retriever x black cat energy, workplace romance, insta-attraction, soft vulnerability, beach town sweetness, and all the found-family vibes you could want. I adored Blake and Adrian, and I’m already craving a reread. Ashtyn Kiana, I’m a fan for life 🥹💛
Huge shout out to Ashtyn Kiana for the ARC! I greatly appreciate it!
Overall: This is a very sweet, small town love story with great mental health representation, a green flag book boyfriend, and no third act breakup. I think it’s a good book for someone looking for a light, easy read with a happily ever after.

Bookish Analysis: Blake’s growth throughout the story was great to see, and was well handled. We slowly built up her story, as we see her letting Adrian in. Kiana did a good job with the building action to hearing about Blake’s past, which definitely made the moment she shares her full story impactful.
I would have liked the opportunity to read more about the relationship developing between Blake and Adrian, rather than being told about things that happened off page. There were so many sweet moments that we heard about but didn’t get to see. Since we saved the time and drama of a third-act breakup, using that time to show more of their relationship would have improved the flow and interest in the characters.
I also felt like the book could have been a bit shorter. Since there was a lot of telling, I felt like the book almost ended a couple of times, but then kept going with additional time passing. All those final moments were sweet, and I feel they could have been handled earlier, or again, shown instead of told to us. I had a bit of trouble following all the time hops.
What to expect: 🩺 Workplace romance ❤️ black cat FMC x golden retriever MMC 🩺 Dual POV ❤️ instant-attraction
From the first moment they met, Adrian and Blake had an instant attraction towards one another. Although they didn't expect to ever see one another again. Fate had other plans.
Adrian wanted to become a Veterinarian and applied for a job working with Dr. Tim Miller. Not realizing that the girl with the 'storm cloud' eyes that he met at the grocery store is the daughter of the boss. Adrian is the type of man any woman would fall for. He is confident, thoughtful, and has the body of a Greek God.
"I know my friendship with Adrian is still new, but I’ve never felt like this before. So seen and understood. And that seems crazy because how could this impossibly perfect man understand me?"
Blake has a lot of anxiety issues and seems to feel lost and alone when her two best friends move away to college. She had an awful experience in high school and she is working towards moving on, but sometimes not having anyone can make progress stay at a standstill. She meets Adrian and he tries everything in his power to be that 'friend for her in her time of need.
"She makes me nervous—that good, butterflies in the stomach, heart stops when I see her type of nervousness."
Adrian tries everything in his power to be the type of man Blake needs and he has all of us rooting for them. As a hopeless romantic myself, I believe when you find the right one you just know. The feeling never really goes away, instead, it intensifies and consumes your ❤️ My husband does that for me!

Thank you so much to Ashtyn Kiana and Luna Literacy for a chance to read and review this ARC.
This is my first time ready any of Ashtyn’s works and Between Us was a beautiful, wholesome romance. It doesn’t really have any drama but instead follows the characters own anxieties and dynamics which create small ripples in the storyline.
The story follows recently graduated (High school) Blake as she takes a gap year working at her Dad’s veterinary clinic as the reception. Along comes Adrian, new to the small town who applies for a vet tech job at then veterinary clinic whilst he’s studying.
Blake and Adrian have an instant attraction to each other. Blake is more reserved and shy whereas Adrian is confident and self-assured. He knows he wants to date Blake from the beginning but like the green flag that he is, Adrian never pushes or rushes her. I really like how their relationship unfolds, it doesn’t feel rushed or unnatural. What stole the show for me in the book was Adrian and all the side characters making the whole book just feel like drinking a mug of hot chocolate 😍
I really enjoyed the story even if it did feel a little juvenile sometimes but then I remembered the FMC is only 18. Apart from that my only critique is that it felt a bit long at some points and could’ve been shaved down a bit.

Between Us by Ashtyn Kiana ~~~~~~ Ashtyn does it again 🥹 I’m happy and sad and sobbing and giddy and blushing all at the same time. This book was the best kind of a rollercoaster of emotions. I was so happy to be back into the Amada Beach world and I can’t wait for the next!!
In Always Been Yours her dedication was “To all the kids who started as hopeless romantics but grew into cynics, I see you”and that book made me believe in love again but Between Us made me think it could actually happen.
I just want to hug Blake and Adrian 🥹 they deserve the world. I felt so seen when reading about Blake and it makes me tear up just writing this. Blake is so strong and happy and just so kind. And Adrian ☺️ oh my goodness Adrian. He’s beautiful, sweet, charming, and so patient with Blake. I love him. I’ll be your Storm Cloud everyday.
The spice was a perfect blend, not too much, not too little. It was exactly what was needed for their characters and still made me blush.
And this book is so much more than just romance, it deals with anxiety that feels so real. Not just some made up story but something that felt so real to me that I had to stop reading for a bit… and I loved it, even if I cried a little.
I want to jump into this book and never leave. Let me live in Amada Beach please ☺️
Thank you @ashtynkiana.author for this arc. Between Us is out now and available on KU 🫶🏻
Ashtyn....pretty girl.....THANK YOU for writing this story.

This story makes you feel ALL the feelings. One moment you will be kicking, screaming, and giddy. The next moment you will be teary eyed and reaching for the tissues. THEN....then...the spice, well I will let you use your imagination. 😉
You all know I am all about mental health representation in books. With Adrian’s help and patience, Blake really finds her peace, her happiness, and her purpose. This story shows you that you are ALWAYS enough and if someone wants to be in your life, they have to meet you where you are at. There is nothing wrong with you. At the end of the day, you are someone’s type. You just have to find your person.
“I get to decide how I want to spend my time. And if you’d pay attention, you’d know I want to spend more of it with you, Storm Cloud.” I’m surprised by the nickname. He’s never called me anything other than my name before. But before I can comment on it he adds, “Your feelings don’t scare me.”

I received this book as an ARC, but these are my true thoughts. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Firstly, thank you to the lovely Ashtyn Kiana for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. And let me tell you guys: Ashtyn didn’t miss. AGAIN.
Between Us is the second book in the Amada Beach series and takes place about 7 years before Always Been Yours. It follows Blake and Adrian, and oh what a story they share.
From the moment I read ABY I was intrigued by Blake’s character. Her anxious and “loner” tendencies that were alluded to in ABY had me wanting more from her— specifically who she was because I knew there was much more to the story than at first glance. And I’m SO glad Blake got her time to shine. She’s a woman who has the biggest heart and sometimes just doesn’t know how to show people that. Her character was so raw and vulnerable, and I loved seeing the representation of mental health and anxiety, and how it looks not at every stage of someone’s day.
And Adrian? I’m out for the count. His purely unconditional love for Blake and his care for her had me swooning. He was exactly what she needed, and she in turn was exactly what he needed too.
The same vibes are there that I loved from ABY. Small town community. A family I would love to be a part of. Friends who’d do just about anything to protect those who are there’s. All that to say, I am still in love with Amada Beach and I never want to leave.💜
Thank you to Ashtyn Kiana for gifting me this book. I am voluntarily leaving a review. This book was such a sweet surprise. I kind of wish I read the 1st book first, but love that you can read them in any order. It was tender, funny, and honestly just a beautiful story. I really loved that the author let us know ahead of time where the open-door scenes were—for those who want a love story minus 🌶️. It starts slow and then as the love increases the story picks up, like literally foreplay. Adrian and Blake’s story is about love, yes, but it’s also about growing into yourself with someone who sees you. Like, really sees you. Their connection was vulnerable in a way that that reminded me of my marriage. Don’t we all have some part of we are afraid to show others that we’re still healing from? This book taps into that feeling and makes it feel okay. Safe love—the kind that accepts all your messy parts—is something we all crave, and this story delivered that beautifully.
Tropes: workplace romance, second chance (at healing), hurt/comfort, found family, emotional intimacy, high school wounds, mental health rep, open-door scenes, no third-act breakup Trigger Warnings: bullying, mental health (anxiety/depression), therapy, mild sexual content
This book took me by surprise because I was not expecting to fall in love with Adrian and Blake the way I did. 🤭🥹🥰
I’ve never felt more seen in a character than with Blake, a lot of what she went through resonates with me. She has anxiety and if any of yall have anxiety, you know that constant silent battle. But then you meet someone like an Adrian, and maybe he embraces your storms turning them into sunshine and rainbows. 😩❤️🔥🩷 Someone who helps calm all the noise in your head, your calm.
The way Adrian and Blake go together is just soo natural, my favorite part was the emotional aspect of their relationship. That felt so real and true, it wasn’t rushed, intimacy was earned and that was truly refreshing!
This book won my heart. 🏅 I’ve been in a reading slump since my last 5 star read… and this was everything I needed and more.
Beach-town setting, supportive besties, a meet-cute, a duo that loves animals 🐾, a man whose willing to do anything to prove to his girl he isn’t going anywhere and will always take care of her, plus some really good humor! I finished this on the plane and received a few glances because I was laughing out loud. 🤭
I just finished reading Between Us and I can’t stop smiling! This book made me feel so warm and happy. Adrian and Blake are now one of my favorite couples ever—they’re just perfect together. The love and support they give each other, along with their families' involvement, made everything feel so real and touching.
What stood out to me was how natural their relationship felt. There wasn’t unnecessary drama or conflict, just genuine love, respect, and a lot of funny and heartfelt moments. It was refreshing to see a couple who grow together while still having their own space.
Blake’s character especially moved me. She struggles with anxiety and tends to keep to herself, but she has such a big heart. The story handled her mental health with honesty and care. Adrian, on the other hand, was loving, patient, and exactly the kind of partner she needed. Their bond was so soft and emotional—it melted my heart.
Even though this is the second book in the Amada Beach series, it’s actually set years before Always Been Yours.
If you love stories filled with love, support, emotional depth, and beach-town vibes, Between Us is a must-read. I highly recommend it!
This is the first book I've read by her and it was a wonderful read - the story tackled a number of serious topics but it was also one of those cozy, feel-good reads. While I was puzzled sometimes at the pacing of the story and at the fact there wasn't a daunting conflict, I really appreciated how Ashtyn put mental health at the forefront of the story. Additionally, Between Us is incredibly pro-therapy and pro-meds which was a HUGE plus for me. I think Blake's struggles are relatable to many people, myself included.
Adrian is such a green flag of a boyfriend! His love for Blake was clearly unconditional. I love how patient he was with her, how he reassured her when she needed it, how he showed up for her each and every day. All the things. I love the way Blake supported Adrian in his career too. They were exactly what the other person needed for each other!
what I loved: -the dynamic between the MCs and their families (and all together) -NO third-act breakup -mental health rep -the friendship between Blake, Margo, and Meera -the small town and close knit community vibes -Blake's journey of healing and self-discovery
This book?? Was a warm hug 🤗 and a deep breath 😮💨 all at once!! From the first grocery store meet-cute 🛒 to the slow unraveling of emotions at the vet clinic 🐶🐱, I was hooked.
Adrian is that charming golden retriever energy 🐕🦺 we all secretly want in our lives, and Blake?? Soft, hesitant, but strong in the most relatable ways 💭💗. Their connection feels real, gentle, and tender like a sleepy sunrise over the Beach 🌅.
Every page had me smiling 😊, swooning 🥰, and sometimes wanting to gently shake these two and scream “YOU’RE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER” 💞💫 Also can we talk about the VET CLINIC??? Adorable 🏥🐾. Cozy ☕. Full of furry sidekicks I’d die for 🐕🐈.
This wasn’t just a romance...it was about finding your place 🧭, healing from your past 🩹, and letting someone in even when you're scared 🚪❤️. Adrian and Blake are proof that love doesn’t always arrive on time ⏰, but it always shows up when you're ready for it 🌈✨
If you're a fan of small-town romance 🌻, soft boy energy 🥹, slow burn chemistry 🔥💗, or if you're just in the mood for a story that feels like being wrapped in your favorite sweater 🧶🛋️, this one’s for you!!
Between Us is the second book in the Amanda Beach series but it actually takes place before Always Been Yours. We get to see Blake and Adrian’s story (I know we all wanted after the glimpses we got in ABY 😘)
this book gave me ALL the feels. I am always so happy to read a book that has such amazing mental health representation in such a positive way.
I love seeing long distance friendships that don’t fade- especially in this community- we all have friends who live far away and being able to keep up those friendships can be hard- and seeing that in this book and the continued friendships is amazing!
I’m normally a little iffy about insta-attraction but I really did love it here! From the meet cute- to being coworkers it really was SO GOOD!
Definitely recommend as a nice beach town romance for a good summer read!

I loved reading this book so much. It had my lonely self smiling all throughout, my cheeks hurt. I've never felt so envious of two characters before 😅, but I do with Adrian and Blake. I couldn't have read a more perfectly fit couple than those two 🥰🥰 The support they and their families have in each other, while also letting themselves have thr autonomy to make their own decisions, was so beautiful to see.
There were and lot of funny moments too, which made everything fit perfectly. This is one of those books where there didn't need to be a downfall within the relationship of the MCs. It wouldn't have made sense. But instead, we got to experience the love and support, and YEARNING, that two characters had for each other. And it was so amazing to read ☺️
I definitely need to read Book 1 of the series now 😅, aim intrigued and cant wait for more in the future.
Between Us releases May 7, 2025!!!! I cant wait for everyone to read this one! 🥰😊
Adrian and Blake o loved their story so much the chemistry they have between each other the way Adrian was soo patient with Blake because of her anxiety I love how the talk about anxiety medication is talked I am a huge advocate for if you need help with your mental health ask for help especially when you’re talking to a therapist it is okay to change therapist until you find the right one for you and if you need medication that is okay it just helping you I also love that I did see myself a lot in Blake in the way she describes her anxiety feeling and the ticks she does because I do the same thing I have gotten slightly better but I still do it but my favorite part was the beagle as a beagle owner myself I can sometimes relate with beagles getting in trouble lol but I love Adrian he is the perfect book boyfriend and the diner scene I might have cried while reading this book and you she’s some characters of always been yours ahh loved
