The Aces #3

Craving Absolution

Rate this book
Farrah Miller and Cody “Casper” Butler have a longstanding relationship that both refuse to discuss.

It isn’t romantic.

It may not even be classified as a friendship.

Casper’s been saving Farrah from herself for longer than he’d care to admit, watching silently as she drowned herself in alcohol. Then, when she finally got her act together, he left. He told himself he was giving her time to sort herself out. He tried to give her space.

But getting shot in the chest can change a man’s perspective, and Casper’s done waiting.

When he shows up on her doorstep one night, everything changes.

He’s the man who’s seen her at her very worst.

She’s his weakness.

He runs when things get hard.

She never lets anyone see below the surface and is terrified of being abandoned.

He knows it’s a long shot, that there’s a good chance she’ll never drop her guard for him—but he has to try. Because a life with Farrah is exactly what he wants—even if he has to fight her for it.

3 Man up Stars

*Some Spoilers*

 photo pr10_zpsf31sirhu.gif

“I am in love with you,” he said. “There is not one thing I wouldn’t do for you. I’d kill for you. I’d die for you. No hesitation, no question. Do not ever compare me to Echo again. That man is dead, and he isn’t worth the dirt he’s buried under. Do you understand me?”-Cody

So going into Craving Absolution, the 3rd book in The Aces series, I really thought I was going to have a problem with Farrah. She was a flaky mess in the last book, so just knew she would be the problem, but I was wrong . I loved Farrah. Felt bad for Farrah. It was Cody I had the problem with in this book. Damn if I didn't wanna slap the shit out of him. He was such a little bitch, running and shutting down every time things got hard. He kept telling Farrah how he loved her, and how he was always gonna be there for her, she could depend on him. Breaking down all her walls. Then every time she really needed him, he wasn't there for her. And I don't mean he was down the street and she needed him, and he just didn't know, I mean he walks out on her, or throws her past in her face, or sides with someone else over her. Hell even Grams had a couple come to Jesus moments with him. Cody really needed to Man the fuck up.

“You wanted this, Cody. You waited her out and you chased her, now you’ve got her. But you need to remember that she’s a lot softer than she lets on. Today’s been a hard day for her, moving into a new place without Callie and Will. She’s dealt with a lot in her lifetime, spent years protecting herself from people she shouldn’t have had to. It takes quite a bit for her to trust someone.” She paused for a moment, the air heavy with tension. “It doesn’t take much to break that trust, son. You keep that in mind before you go leaving her again when she needs you.”-Gram

 photo 584c3210759b85e33ff816dc8c0f04cd_zpses1aozty.jpg

“You took her side,” I whispered, hating myself for sounding like a whiny little girl, but unable to let it go. “Won’t happen again,” he promised. “My loyalty is to you, even when you’re being a bitch. It’s always you, Ladybug. Forgive me?” “I wasn’t being a bitch,” I replied sullenly. “She was trying to protect me, baby. Her heart was in the right place,” he told me gently, but my body still stiffened beneath his. “Let me finish. Her heart was in the right place, but it won’t happen again. She knows not to do that shit again.”-Farrah and Cody

Farrah has had such a hard life, I just wanted a hero for her to show her that she was worth loving, and be strong for her. What I got was a jerk that turned his back on her so much that their whole relationship was her waiting for him to leave her. And one of the times she needs him the most, she is so sick with appendicitis while pregnant puking her guts out (He doesn't know she is pregnant because when she told him she needed to talk to him, he told her later and went to the club and stayed there all night, cause once again he was having a hard time with something and was shutting down) So he walks in seeing her laying against the toilet puking til the point where she can't talk or lift her head, and instead of asking if she is ok, he figures she went back to her old partying ways. He calls her a druggie, tells her he is done with her shit and walks out again. She has to crawl to her cell and call Gram. He almost costed her and the baby their lives. Does he learn his lesson then, Hell no. What I expected was a sexy kick ass biker, rough around the edges, but loves his woman, what I got was a little boy trying to play like he was a grown ass man.

“You left her like this? What the hell is the matter with you?” “I didn’t—” I felt my chest heaving, unable to catch my breath. “I thought—” “Goddamn it, Cody,” Gram said tersely as the sounds of an ambulance grew closer. “I warned you! I specifically warned you about taking off when she needed you.” Her voice rose with every word. “You can’t keep running off when shit gets hard!”-Gram and Cody

 photo andysamburgimanadult_zps8tpcedap.gif

“I want you to fucking talk to me! I want to know what’s bothering you, for Christ’s sake!” I raised my hands in front of me, palms up in supplication. “Why do you keep doing this?”-Farrah

I didn't really want Farrah to forgive Cody so easily, and I had a really hard time with their relationship. Some of it was good, but then Cody would act like a dick and piss me off, so I couldn't get real invested in their love. Cody gave me whiplash the way he flipped from nice guy to self absorbed prick. I was just done with all the unnecessary drama that Cody caused. I did enjoy Farrah and the other parts of the story that it was still a 3 star read for me. I loved Gram and Lily in this book, and Slider even redeemed himself a little in my eyes, although I still don't care much for him, since he cheated on his wife with a club whore and got her pregnant when his wife couldn't have children. I hate cheaters! Cam was adorable, and brave. The parts with little Will and Farrah were too damn cute for words. Over all an okay read. I didn't hate Cody, but I sure didn't like him. I hope the next one is better.

“Hey, handsome,” she called sleepily, moving her hands out of my armpit. “Did you get any sleep?” I shook my head, and couldn’t help but smile as she crinkled her nose at me. Why was that so fucking cute? “You’ve just been watching me sleep like a creeper?” “Pretty much.” She thought about it for a minute, then smiled and nodded. “I’m okay with that.”-Farrah and Cody

Was I the only reader that expected Cody to bail out of the Aces? I mean I just didn’t get the ‘biker for life’ vibe from him and didn’t feel it once I finished either. He was a bit of a letdown for me as a love interest and ran away way too much for a man who just laid his claim to the girl he has feelings for.

”You wanted this, Cody. You waited her out and you chased her, now you’ve got her. But need to remember that she’s a lot softer than she lets on.”

He simply wasn’t enough for a girl like Farrah. He wasn’t protective enough, he wasn’t alpha enough and I just keep waiting for him to fully get back to his main stream life and bring Farrah with him. I had a few issues with Cody like the Brenna situation, leaving her in the bathroom and basically always thinking the worst of her. Still Farrah loved him and so I was patient.

Farrah on the other hand totally stole the show and out shined Cody the whole book. Gram was more of the man she needed than Cody, well at least to me. I loved her estranged relationship with Slider and Vera as well as her new formed relationship with young Cameron. These story lines were fantastic and kept my attention the whole story.

”She can fuckin’ hate me. Long as she’s breathing, long as she’s safe, I don’t give a fuck how she feels about me.”

Overall, I just didn’t love Cody for Farrah and would have totally bought him living the suit and tie life but that’s not where the story went and I have to respect it. Farrah kicked ass, she grew up and was a loyal friend, lover and mother. I’m excited that I’m ready for the next book which is scheduled to release January 26th.

”She’s your soft place, son. A man needs a soft place to land when life gets fucked.”

Re-read 1/26/15:
After finishing Craving Resurrectionyesterday morning, I re-read this entire series yesterday afternoon and last night. Yeah, I'm sick and couldn't sleep.

Don't judge.

Anyway, after another go-around I have decided this shit is 5 stars.

Original Review:

3 to 3.5 Kinda F$%king Frustrating Stars

description

Just like the last book in this series, Craving Redemption, this book started off with a bang. It drew you in with an awesomely exciting prologue that made you all giggly and fangirly inside about the awesome book you were about to read.

But then?

description

Fuck you, dear reader, we are now going to let that carrot of a cliffhanger dangle while we totally leave you in the lurch and rewind this VHS tape.

description

I hate this. I hate when authors do this. Especially when the build up to the moment-you-now-already-know-is-coming falls short of the mark, which sadly to say was the case here for me on this one.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the story enough. I LOVED Farrah (most of the time), and Cody was okay (although I wanted to smack his dumb ass sometimes too).

But regardless of how much I liked certain aspects of the story and characters, I just can't help being left with a feeling of disappointment that the rest of the story (mainly the ending and everything that happens after the awaited moment-you-now-already-know-is-coming) didn't live up to the promise of the prologue. For me anyway.

Maybe upon a re-read I will love it more. I still love this series though and can't wait for the next one.

Time for yet another re-read :P

 photo tumblr_m8prmtp9f41r1jwqu_zpswojnxd9z.gif

This book managed to make me "ugly" cry. My husband was actually worried...lol.

I didn't read the previous book, only the first one, but I had no trouble following the storyline. I also hadn't formed an opinion on either Farrah or Ghost, since I didn't know them yet.

Farrah has had a shit life. Her mother was an evil bitch, her stepfather was a disgusting asshole and her biological father (Slider, the prez of the MC) left her behind when she was still a baby.
Her best friend Callie was her savior. Along with Callie's grandmother who took Farrah under her wing. There is also Cody (Casper), Callie's brother, who has always had an eye on Farrah.

A few years ago, Farrah's boyfriend Echo (also a club brother) was shot right in front of Farrah. This incident made Farrah spiral out of control. She became an out of control drunk, that did nothing more than party. During this time Cole has always been there for her, taking care of her and picking up the pieces.

Now, years later, Farrah is doing so much better and Cody is ready to make his move and make her his. Farrah has always had some feelings for her best friend's sister, so it doesn't take a whole lot to convince her. Cody is also part of the club, he's a prospect waiting to be patched in, and Farrah doesn't want anything to do with the club or her asshole father who's the prez. She tries, however, because of Cody, and that shit got thrown back right in her face, right from the start. I hated Brenna (book 1) in this book...thankfully she redeemed herself. This, however, for me was also the first time Cody fucks up.....it won't be the last, unfortunately...

 photo 9deb0a724fe3f192aee3fae7e9143ac7459c8f5962085eceab27c99da1931ded_zps4ciwjghk.jpg

Farrah's feelings about the club don't make things easy and when shit happens and the club has to go on lockdown, everything spirals out of control pretty fast.

I wanted to kick Slider's ass for what he did to Farrah, even though later we find out why. I was crying right along with Farrah...

 photo 572dfdf0-eff7-0131-6d6f-0aa0f90d87b4_zpshd5clnxl.gif

A lot of other stuff happens of course, but I'm not gonna spoiler the whole book, so you'll have to find out for yourself.

I really liked Farrah and it's pretty hard for me to like any heroine. They almost always annoy me. Farrah didn't...I actually felt for her, when she cried...I cried. Sure I think she was a bit to forgiving, I would have made all of them, including Cody, grovel a whole lot longer...but hey, I'm evil that way :)

The steam was pretty nice too and I'm also gonna give this one half a star extra for Cameron. That boy stole my heart !!! 4,5 stars from me

☆I received an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!☆

description

Okay so, I'll be the first to admit: I was highly skeptical of this read due to disappointed expectations in bk 2, but Craving Absolution did manage to redeem the series for me.

description

♥So what made me change my mind?: ♥ Cody/Casper!! *duh* I had a longtime infatuation with the prestigious school attendee who had the world by the tips of his fingers and how that all changed to him ending up in a MC club. Luckily for me, this book answered it all without overdoing all of the typical biker clichés and making me fall head over heels for resilient hero.♡♡

description

So the story:

In a nutshell: Two, lost broken souls with an affiliation of a lack of trust in anyone that comes their way. One fighting to find her place in this world. And the other, looking to make sense of his.

But basically:

✿Farrah Miller's (a.k.a “Ladybug”) life is going down in flames.

description

With a jaded past, hidden façade, and a very select group of friends, Farrah lives her life from day to day with her walls always up. That is, with the exception of Cody of course.

♥♥Cody “Casper” Butler, is like Farrah in some retrospect,

description

and burdens his own load of loss and tragedy, but unlike her, turns to the Aces MC to find solace and refuge from the chaos.

He’s like the guardian angel of Farrah, always keeping an eye on her and always saving her from herself but still learning how to battle his own demons to save his own self.

description

But how can you truly rescue someone who’s hellbent on self destructing all by herself?

ESPECIALLY, when it's the woman that you're unconditionally and irrevocably in love with?

description

Now with the girl of his dreams spiraling out of control and into oblivion... will Casper ever get through to her and make her see that there’s more to this world and meanwhile keep his loyalty to the Aces MC?

And Farrah. With so much letdowns and disappointments in her life, will she finally let go and give trust to the one person who could possibly break her?

description

One thing’s for certain: A lot can go down in an MC read as love, danger, deceit, and sparks of old and new possibilities barrage their way into Casper and Farrah’s life.

What could this mean for Casper and Farrah?

Will the lovebirds get their coveted HEA?.. Will they ever grasp the exoneration they so desperately crave? And most importantly, will they ever find peace and redemption in it? Read and you will find out!

#A great, great addition to the Aces MC! Definitely made me have an epiphany and not second guess Nicole Jacquelyn, that’s for sure! Had me on a literal emotional rollercoaster with all of the high and low upheavals and tingling in my panties with all of the sexual tension and frustration! And then when Casper and Farrah came together, it was PURE magic! Loved it! ♥♥

4.5 stars – I am loving this series!

Book 3 with The Aces MC, and it is straight back into the action for Farrah and Cody’s story. Their relationship started in Craving Redemption. It wasn’t actually a relationship at that point, but there was definitely something building. And thank God it was, because this book gets us straight into the action.

Farrah has had a miserable life, and she has coped with her shitty childhood and the continual defeats and tragedies in her life by putting on a ‘mask’ and living a wild life trying to forget. She has calmed down somewhat from the wild party girl that she was, but she still struggles to deal with her emotions and hides behind walls to protect herself from being hurt.

As the younger brother of her best friend, Cody has been smitten with Farrah for years and was the one following her around, pulling her out of nasty situations and cleaning her up afterwards. And now, we get to see just what a badass he has grown up to be when a life-changing event of his own forces him to act on his feelings and claim his girl.

“You know why I’m here, Farrah … I gave you space, baby. I gave you thousands of miles of space, because I knew you needed it.”
… “You weren’t ready,” he said. “I got that. I knew you needed time to get your shit together, to make a life where you could stand on your own two feet. But I’m done waiting, Farrah.”

Holy freaking hell, Cody! What a sexed-up bundle of hotness he is! A great mix of sweet and caring, and fuck-hot alpha, he barges into Farrah’s life and makes a place for himself, and I loved it!

“Nobody will ever take care of you as good as I do. No one will ever fuck you as good as I do. I’m it for you, Ladybug. Now, scream my name so I know you heard me.”

OMG, yes!!

And with all that Farrah has been through, she understandably has issues that she needs to deal with, but I love that she didn’t fight her feelings for Cody. She wanted him, she let him into her life, and even though they have their ups and downs, their passion for each other, their acceptance of each other, and their need to be together overrode whatever else was going on around them. And it’s definitely not an easy ride.

I was nervous how I would feel about this book because Farrah is a bit of a loose cannon, and her behaviour in Craving Redemption didn’t exactly endear me too her. But I loved the opportunity to get inside of her head and get to know her better – it helped me understand her, and I was fully able to sympathise with her situation and accept her just as she is. And the way that Cody dealt with her – not taking any shit, but being beautifully tender when he needed to be, was absolutely gorgeous.

You love me, and it doesn’t matter how much you push, Ladybug. I’m not going anywhere.

There are some big trust issues there for both of them, as they know that the other has a history of running when things get bad. Plus Farrah’s past and her loose ties to the Club cause some big problems and my heart broke for her watching her endure all that she does. And Cody is torn between being there for her and protecting his girl, and his loyalty and ties to his Club. It’s angsty, and heartbreaking in places, but Cody’s protectiveness of Farrah and the way the whole thing played out was fantastic!

I love that there is more of a focus on the MC in this book than there has been in the others. It’s still very much a romance, but there are some huge shocks in store for The Aces, with a lot going down with the Club, and the way that those events, and even the Club lifestyle, impact on Farrah and Cody is a huge part of the story. In particular I love that we got to see the vulnerable side of Cody. The life of a biker is not an easy one, and as much as it hurt to see, Cody’s struggle was really well written, and provided a great opportunity to see the camaraderie between the boys and bring him and Farrah closer together.

“She’s your soft place, son. A man needs a soft place to land when life gets fucked.”

Once again Nicole Jacquelyn has given us a gritty, passionate and intense love story that is anything but easy, but is absolutely gorgeous. With the hook-up coming very early in the book, there is a lot of time spend with Farrah and Cody as a couple as we watch them navigate the ups and downs of their relationship, and I absolutely loved it!

This is a fast-paced story with great romance, great sex, some laughs, some drama, some heartache, some big surprises and even some action. It sucked me in from the very beginning and I had trouble putting down. We get to catch up with the couples from the previous books, and get to know some of the other members of the Club better, and there’s even an epilogue set 17 years into the future which gives us a fantastic glimpse at what the future has in store, and it’s gold! God, I hope we get that book! But I’m looking forward to more, whatever it will be.

I loved it - 4.5 stars.

5+ Ladybug Stars

Literary Orgasm. That could be my whole review and it would be 100% true.

Warning: This is the third book in the Ace's Series. Don't read it until you have read the first two. It's called a Series for a reason.

Farrah has been taking care of herself and others for most of her young life. She is much better at taking care of others than she is at taking care of herself. What she is not used to is having someone want to take care of her. She has has let a very select few into her Circle of Trust. It's a tight circle.

Cody/Casper's life has not been a rollercoaster. His life has been more of a see-saw. With some pronounced ups and downs. Up....he went to exclusive private schools including Yale. Downs....his family was killed in a home invasion. Up....he met the girl of his dreams. Down....she has some big problems with trust and drugs. Up...he found a new family. Down...its a motorcycle club with a history of illegal activities. You see how this is going?

Farrah and Cody have a history and maybe a chance at a future. But they can't stop Stopping. Stop trusting. Stop talking. They find walking away too easy.

So I couldn't fault him for not trusting me, because I didn't trust him either.

We get to catch up with all the Ace's and their business. There are deceptions, reconciliations, betrayal, disappointment, new beginnings. And wariness. Lots of wariness.

I knew he loved me as much as I loved him. But that didn't mean that someday, something like this wouldn't happen again.

Yes, trust is a hard commodity around here.

The club is a family. And the families care for each other even when they don't like or trust each other. How can Farrah and Cody find their way to a happily ever after if neither one really believes that exists for them? They don't think they deserve happy so how can they give happy or more importantly....accept happy?

I loved this book. As in LOVED. The writing is emotional and tight. Nothing left on the table here. You just want more, more, more. Maybe literary orgasm is the wrong term. I think Literary Crack is more like it. And I need another fix soon!

I was so excited to stumble upon this series! I read three of the books back to back because I just couldn't get enough.

Craving Absolution is the third installment in Nicole Jacquelyn’s Ace’s MC series and I’m torn on how to rate it. I really am.

See, I LOVED the first book and I LOVED the second book. And this book didn’t quite conjure up those feelings.

description

Things I didn’t like:

1. I didn’t ‘buy-in’ to Cody’s and Farrah’s relationship. I believed that they cared about one another but the passion and angst-level wasn’t soaring like it was with the couples in the previous books. Cody and Farrah didn’t do much together other than fight or f*ck.

2. Cody seemed to be all talk and no action, especially in the beginning. He talked a good game to Farrah telling her she was it for him and would stand by her side no matter what……

description

Cody lets Farrah down multiple times despite swearing never to do so…. NOT cool.

3. Cody throws Farrah’s past in her face a few times.👎👎👎 Talk about low blows. Farrah and Cody were never together when she was battling demons and engaging in risky behaviors. Cody may have been there for Farrah and all, but she wasn’t in a relationship with him back then, nor did she ask him to rescue her, so throwing her past in her face is a huge slap in the face and also completely unwarranted.

Things I liked:

1. Almost all of the secondary characters. Nicole Jacquelyn has created a wonderful community of characters and I’m totally invested in the Aces and their families.

2. Farrah. LOVE HER!!!!!

3. The steamy scenes

While I didn’t love this book, I still enjoyed it and I am so happy that there is a follow-up series about the Aces’ children!

After reading where someone read this book and liked it, I decided to read it again. It's just as good as it was the first time around. Love The Aces series and the second generation Aces Sons series also. This author's ability to grab me and put me in the scene with all these characters is uncanny.

First read in July 2014
First let me say I don't usually like the young 20 something romances and tend to want to read about more mature characters. I have read the first two books in this series and in preparation for this third book I went back and re-read book 2 Craving Redemption and absolutely loved it. It was better second time around for me. Book 1 was so good that I remembered most all of the details from it and the characters. Even not liking the YA genre much, I freaking loved this book. Could not put it down. I was so drawn into Casper and Farrah's struggles as well as the secondary characters. I really did not like Farrah much from the previous book but before the end of the book I was definitely team Farrah. I guess one thing that made me feel like I wasn't reading YA most of the time is because Casper came across like he had lived through so much and he had. Farrah's screwed up life was heart breaking and I wondered how she came out as good as she did, but then I realized when you have a support system like Casper, Callie and Grandma Rose you have to rise up because they sure aren't going to let you sink. It sounds so corny but I felt the "love" in this book. As they all struggled through their personal and joint dramas I could still feel the love. I hated Slider, the club prez and estranged father of Farrah, because he came across as a hard hearted SOB who abandoned his daughter to a life of abuse. But then Slider slid into my heart before the book was finished and my heart hurt for him. I could go on and on about this book but suffice it to say it was a book that didn't just engage me, it drug me into the lives and feelings of the characters, made me smile and made me cry. I really hate to see this series end and hope that at least a spin off of the club children will continue. Looks like I'm going to have to become a follower of the YA/NA romances like this one. I realized, IMO, it's all about the quality of the story written by the author and not necessarily about the age of the characters. There is a HEA and no cheating. This author's books just keep getting better and better and she's definitely one I will be following for new releases.

“She’s your soft place, son. A man needs a soft place to land when life gets fucked.”

Gitte:
I love this series, bloody love it. Every instalment landing on my kindle I devour in one sitting revelling in the passion, the gritty world of the MC club, the drama and emotion. This is book #3 and I guess in some respects I see this as a series of ‘reader’s indulgence’ insofar as it has everything to satisfy you and then some. My ‘reading heart’ rejoiced with high emotion and tingles; Craving Absolution is without doubt my favourite in this series and one of my favourite biker books this year!

“I need you to fight for yourself, baby…I need you to fight for us.”

I know what to expect and I never feel let down or disappointed. It’s brilliantly written as always, the characters are flawed but you fall in unquestionable love with them and the story is hot, thrilling and addictive. There’s purpose and room for every single character, they all shine in their own right. So yeah, bloody loved Craving Absolution and wow the epilogue ROCKED!!!! Oh and there’s a scene involving a couple of tattoos, I was in tears!! Absolute TEARS, my heart overflowed!!!! What about you, Jenny?

Jenny: I think it’s fair to say I LOVED THIS BOOK and was moved implicitly. We certainly shed a few tears chatting about it after we finished! I loved everything about it and I know I didn’t skip one word. Cody and Farrah’s story was one of my most anticipated of this series and it lived up to, and even exceeded, my expectations. And yes….THAT scene…..I was a mess! I’m still thinking about it!

“I’m in love with you.”….”I’m sorry for that….”

I completely agree! This is definitely up there as one of my fave biker book this year as well! It was pretty special. I inhaled it in one sitting and experienced every emotion possible.. There is something that set this one apart that’s for sure.

‘Our relationship was complicated….. dragged through the mud too many times to be clean and wholesome.’

Oh wow! That epilogue! I’ve read some fantastic epilogues and this one certainly stood out. It took my breath away! Amazing end to a fabulous read! It left me completely satisfied yet desperately wanting to spend more time with these characters I’ve come to know and love. As you say, each character has a place and none are insignificant to the story.

Gitte: Cody and Farrah’s story is really heart breaking yet oh so romantic. I mean Cody, wow, what a man. Sure, he has his faults and I wanted to shout at him for being a tosser a few times but his passionate heart and his dedication, love and protectiveness for Farrah….it all knew no end, it was infinite!! Cody grew up and what an incredible man he’s become with such a beautiful soul.

“I gave you space, baby. I gave thousands of miles of space, because I knew you needed it.”

Farrah was a bit of an enigma to me, I didn’t really have an opinion on her upon starting. However, she soon won me over and I slowly but surely fell in love with her strength and vulnerable character. She puts up a guarded front as a result of a traumatic childhood. How do you trust, love and embrace anything new and uncertain if you haven’t had much stability and love in life?

‘As much as I wanted to keep my distance, Cody was just as determined to break through.’

Now, Cameron stole my heart too. There’s a harrowing scene with him and Farrah that just made me want to pick him up and hug him. It made me cry! I really hope we get his and Trix’s story. Well played Nicole Jacquelyn looks as if the next generation’s up and I for one will one-click every single one!! I highly recommend this series for its passion, twists and turns, raw emotion and swoon worthy romance. What about you, Jenny?

Jenny: Oh you can bet I’ll be 1clicking anything in regards to The Aces Series. I just can’t get enough and yes please, please, please…..let’s have some of the next generation! Their stories will be just as riveting!

I loved Cody. I found myself forgiving him his sometimes bad judgement calls because I knew his heart was in the right place. He’d watched, protected and loved Farrah from afar but didn’t always have the foresight to think through the consequences of his actions. Sure I wanted to slap him now and then but this guy completely had my heart. He had me swooning many a time!

“Don’t ever hide from me again, I’m all in, Farrah.”

Like you, I wasn’t sure what to think of Farrah in the beginning but my feelings for her grew throughout the story. Such a broken character, she certainly made me tear up a few times. Healing from her past would take time, opening and trusting would entail breaking down her carefully constructed walls and I was with her every step of the way.

“Don’t leave without waking me up, okay? “I don’t like waking up with you gone.”

Cody and Farrah’s story has been brewing throughout series and I particularly love how this author manages to so effortlessly and seamlessly weave each character and story into the other and she never shies away from bringing us the gritty side of her MC world. She tells it warts and all and her characters are honestly flawed. In this installment she brought us some nail biting moments, lots of twists, shocks, drama and, some truly heartfelt romantic moments which made my heart burst. Yep, this was an absolute winner for me too!

I am a HUGE fan of the Craving series, the Aces are in my top 3 biker club favorites. When Nicole asked me if I'd like an advanced copy, I jumped at the chance.

I first fell in love with series with Dragon and Brenna. What can I say? Dragon won me over. I loved their story. I loved the family aspect that was infused into the story, and more over, I loved the realism that is thrust into the story. When Craving Redemption came out, I do admit that Grease and Callie's story didn't capture me the way that Dragon and Brenna's had, but I still enjoyed the story just the same. I was looking forward to Casper's story because I found him an odd man in the Aces club, given his background. He's the prep school, IVY league grad, turned biker, so his story was compelling. Farrah on the other hand, in CR, I found her to be rather selfish, so I wasn't sure how I would take to her as the lead heroine. Nicole made me fall in love with her. This girl has had been through hell in back, and somehow managed to keep it somewhat together. Her relationship with her dad was something that I definitely connected with, made me feel even closer to her and subsequently, made me adore her and feel her struggle even more.

Casper, even with his pristine background, is a perfect fit with the Aces. He's foul-mouthed, protective, loving, and deadly. He's the perfect mixture of sweet and seductive, and I loved his love for Farrah.

The epilogue stole my heart and has me wondering which couple Nicole will be choosing next. I gave this 4.5 STARS... HIGHLY recommend it, as well as the rest of the series.

“She’s your soft place, son. A man needs a soft place to land when life gets fucked.”

Gitte: I love this series, bloody love it.

2014 Favorite Read
I have been dying for Craving Absolution to release. Nicole Jacquelyn’s Aces series has made my 2014 Favorite Reads list. I cannot praise this series enough.

With the market being saturated with Biker themed series, ranging from bad boy bikers, bikers undercover, bikers down under, and lifer bikers, I have to say The Aces MC is at the tops. It is a portrayal of a club compiled of members from various walks in life that have banned together as a family. They live by their own codes, laws, and rules. They love just as fiercely as their commitments to the club. They will give their lives, serve time, turn their backs on those who betray the club, and leave their old lives behind to live by the code. In return they will be embraced by a dedicated family that will have their backs at all times.

At times they will have to hurt the ones they love the most for the for the club. There will be times that they will have to sacrifice their own personal desires for the club. It is not an easy life.

Craving Absolution is the third book in this series. We met Casper, the new prospect for the club in the first book of this series. He is young, quiet, and a bit mysterious. He can move throughout various situations like a ghost. Thus, the nickname Casper.

In the second book we get to see who Casper was before joining The Aces MC club. He was a young man with a brilliant future. He was away at a prestigious school in the east. His academic success had gained him scholarships that would eventually land him a full scholarship to Yale. When his parents are brutally murdered by a gang with a vendetta, his life is forever changed.

At the age of fifteen he has a first hand experience with the brutality of the harsh and violent world. Through his older sister Callie he is introduced to the Aces MC club and her best friend Farrah. He will witness another world he never knew existed. He will seize the opportunity to join the Aces to get retribution for the deaths of his parents. He will find a world that is a better fit for him than the perfect world at Yale. He will find the one woman that can complete him. The life he chose, the woman he claimed will be the most challenging and satisfying endeavor he will ever take. There will be good, bad, violence, love, friendship, danger, diabolical enemies, and a support system that will have his back at all times. Cody will embrace this life and he will do everything in his power to capture Farrah’s heart.

We met Farrah in the second book of this series. She is Callie’s best friend. They met in high school and become sisters by choice. Farrah has had a very rough life. Her mother is a drug addict and former club whore. She is the illegitimate child of the president of the Aces. He has abandoned her and left her to survive in the horrific word in which her mother lives. Not only has she suffered abuse from her mother, she has witnessed the violent world that comes with the members of the Aces. Her boyfriend is brutally gunned down right on her doorstep. She has watched Callie suffer from the enemies of the Aces. She has a very bitter attitude towards the Aces and everything they stand for. The one person that has always showed her pure kindness and respect has now joined with the Aces. Can she give her heart to Cody knowing that their life will be ruled by the very club that has done nothing but break her?

Craving Absolution has lived up to the high standards that the first two books in this series has set. I was addicted from page one and could not put it down. There were so many surprises, underlying plots, emotional scenes, and pure love scenes. This book played on every emotion. Nicole Jacquelyn is a talented writer that has created a world that is unforgettable.

I highly recommend this series. It is on my 2014 Favorite Reads list.

5++++ perfect stars!!! This one was my favorite in the series! The writing is amazing, the story is gripping and the characters are so damaged yet so lovable. For me this was one of those stories where I paced myself so I could savor it. I seriously can't find anything negative to say about it. I mean Cody frustrated me at times, as did Farrah but I wouldn't have it any other way. I was so involved in their story and I really loved them as a couple. We get to experience all their ups and downs right along with them. Everything flowed so nicely throughout this book, it was really hard to put down.

In addition to Cody and Farrah, we get to spend time with the rest of the characters from the previous books and it was total greatness! From Callie and Grease to Brenna, Dragon and Slider... I loved every second of this book! I think Farrah is my favorite heroine of this series and I look forward to reading more of this amazing series!! Gosh, just thinking about that epilogue has me smiling and all giddy about what is to come!

Wow this was a great story that has been building up since book 1.

Farrah and Cody "Casper" were meant to be...it just took them a while to figure it out. Cody is a born protector and he knows that Farrah is supposed to be his.

The characters are well developed and feel very real. Gram and Lily are amazing ladies as are all the Aces and their old ladies...this truly is a family.

The twist at the end had me reeling!!!

Wonderful epilogue.

The 5 stars are for the strong, amazing, resilient, kick-ass, vulnerable, loyal heroine Nicole Jacquelyn has created in Farrah, the biker chick with a heart of gold and balls of steel. The hero, on the other hand, was a big fat 0. 🤷🏻‍♀️

**Based on ARC*

There are a few authors out there who are able to write a completely satisfying MC book for me. I mean the perfect amount of drama, love, alpha men, old ladies and fun.
When one is writing a MC series, this has to be incredibly difficult. The drama, violence and skank factors could easily cross the line of "TOO MUCH"....
Craving Absolution is pretty damn near perfect for me. I read this book in one setting. Starting it at 8pm and finishing at 2:45am... I could simply, NOT put it down.

Beautifully written... breathtakingly amazing story! I was worried, happy, sad, mad, yelling at Slider, pulling for Farrah and sometimes loving and hating Cody "Casper" Butler in the matter of a few sentences.
Farrah "Ladybug" Miller is a mess... we know this from the previous books in the series. I almost didn't like her.
But once we get to know her and know what makes her tick, ahhh... I so get it now! She has suffered so much in her life, that being numb and controlling every situation in her life, helps her live day to day. She has her walls and guards up at all times. She never lets anyone see her without her mask and uniform on. Make-up, perfect hair and dressed in her favorite vintage clothes, make it possible for Farrah to face the world. She is alone, the only family she has is her best friend and her best friends grandmother.... and Cody.

Cody "Casper"Butler... We loved him in Craving Redemption and now ... I just love him even more!!!
He had decided, enough is enough...Farrah is his and he was going to steak his claim, even if she was not having it!!!
We see him at his best and his worst. He is compassionate and understanding when it comes to Farrah's past issues. Cody wants to make her happy, but can you force someone to face their demons and come out on the other side?

"Nobody will ever take care of you as good as I do. No one will ever fuck you as good as I do. I'm in it for you, Ladybug. Now, scream my name so I know you heard me."

Cody is torn, his club or his woman? Farrah is not exactly a fan of the Ace's. Her absentee father is the club Prez and he is full of secrets that come to light and ROCK her world. Sending her away to live with Cody's Aunt Lily (whom, I LOVE!) and Gram (who I LOVE even more!)

This story has an amazing flow, we see Farrah grow and overcome the tragedies of her past... Only to see Cody, slip into a dark place and Farrah brings him back. It was just so perfectly written. I actually can not formulate into words what I want to say, THAT'S HOW GOOD IT IS!

Farrah, could be my favorite character in this entire series... Her strength in the face of danger and people ...IT'S A FREAKING WHOPPER, THAT I DID NOT SEE COMING!!!!!! It was written perfectly. She gets control of the situation and doesn't fall apart. Normally a crippling panic attack would have her on the floor... But keeping it at bay, she saves 3 lives! And inadvertently changes 2, hers and Cam's.... OH, I am not going into Cam, that is a young man you have to meet to understand their connection!!!

In the end we see, reconciliation between father and daughter and it is a beautiful thing. A new relationship between, Vera and Farrah based in respect for past events... We get to see Farrah and Cody come together, fall in love, face trials and tribulations, only to overcome and prove Love is worth fighting for.,. Even if you are fighting yourself.

I LOVE this book so hard! I can not recommend it enough!!! Absolutely, one of my Best Reads of the year! Nicole Jacquelyn, girl you rocked this book and I am a BIG FAN!!!!!

Well, see, here's the thing, I've read three of these Aces books now, and I keep coming back to the same feeling at the end of every story: unsatisfied. Deeply unsatisfied. Essentially, these dudes treat their women like crap, and the women, who admittedly do stupid crap as well, just allow it. I don't know what to say other than, why, why do you allow these dudes to act this way to you and then shrug your shoulders like, oh well, we "love" each other so it's fine if he's totally treating me like yesterday's garbage.

I'll give you three examples:

I get that good books have conflict and resolution, it's what makes us all sit at the edge of our seat and read obsessively, but there just wasn't enough resolution for me personally, the things that are said and done are never properly addressed and atoned for. The guys never treated their women with respect. They were decent at best to them when they didn't cross them or argue. I'm all for a man to act like a man and being assertive and tough and masculine, and I'm all for women to act like women and be soft and sensitive and feminine, but when the dudes treat the females like second class citizens, I'm out, I'm done, I can't get on board.

When I was offered a review copy of the third book in the ACES series by Nicole Jacquelyn I have to admit, I jumped at the chance!
It's been a while since a book has had me reading just about nonstop ALL day - I didn't want to put CRAVING ABSOLUTION down though I had to eventually, but it was a struggle!!!!

Definitely my favourite of the 3 books in the series, CRAVING ABSOLUTION was a really emotional story that focused on the relationship between Farrah & Cody (Casper).

Farrah was a truly terrific character - after reading about her in CRAVING REDEMPTION I really wasn't sure how she was gonna come across in CA - but I shouldn't have worried - Nicole made me ADORE Farrah.
My heart broke for her and I wanted so much for things to work out - after reading about her past, her behaviour in CRAVING REDEMPTION made so much sense.

Cody was a star - though at one point I kept thinking he really needed a bit of a kick up the arse - but learning about just how much he had been a part of Farrah's life until their book began was interesting and very telling of how he felt about her. Reading about how he went from model student to MC member and the reasons behind his choices gave us more of an insight into the man that he had grown into.

Their story wasn't an easy one. They had their share of rough times and heartache but the journey they took us on was fab and kept me engaged from the start. At 50% in I was a snotty, runny nosed, red eyed mess... Could happily have done in a couple of characters... (all I can say is keep the tissues handy!!)

We caught up again with other characters that we met in previous books including Dragon & Brenna, Asa & Callie as well as Slider and other members of the ACES MC.
Gram, as ever, was awesome, and with her sister Lily, gods, what a fantastic pair!!!

The Epilogue.... jeez, how can I put it..... it's FANBLOODYTASTIC!!!!

Nicole did it again with CRAVING ABSOLUTION, it's a truly wonderful book - and it's not just the story that I'm talking about. Nicole's writing has grown and developed with each book in the series and it has been fabulous to watch.

If you haven't picked up your copy of CRAVING ABSOLUTION yet, do it NOW....It's bloody brilliant!!!!

4 - 4.5 LADYBUG STARS!

Book 3, and I have to say that this one is my favourite so far in the series!

Cody and Farrahs story and although I like the two of them individually and loved the thought of them getting together, their story which started off really strong, began to get a bit tiresome and it seemed after half way through I was reading the same chapter when things got heavy with both of them.

BELLO. Muchísimo mejor que el libro anterior. Amé a Farrah y Cody. Amé la pareja, los amé a ellos.

Así sería Cody según su descripción física...

description

description

Como mucho le decía "Why are you being such a bitch?" o "You're being an idiot" cuando se enojaba.

En fin, all in all, me re gustó el libro y la historia. Me pareció innecesario.
A ver, completamente innecesario ésto.
No sé qué onda. NO SUMA.

A ver qué onda...

I will also rate my DNF books as I at least try to read 100 pages of any DNF book and I reserve the right to review those 100 pages. Now on to my review……

This was definitely better than the last two. Nicole grows with each book she puts out. While there were some parts that just didn't feel right to me or didn't make me feel what I'm sure was intended, it was still a great read with good flow and a great ending.
