What is the world to suffocate the very thing that might restore its life?

The last Isteriaeth in the realm of Breteria, Elric is no stranger to heartache or danger. In his nearly four hundred years of existence he has seen kingdoms crumble, loved ones fall, and stars burn out across the sky. He believes he has nothing left to lose, then one final thing is stolen from him—freedom.

Kidnapped and taken to the Kingdom of Obarian, he is claimed by their queen and bound to her will. Beneath the weight of his losses, an uprising that demands revolution, and the sharp eye of a ruler who would see her people die before she relinquishes her crown, Elric’s power grows volatile and leads him to question his own destiny.

But when he finds himself fleeing for his life beside the one woman he despises above all others, the past and present collide to reveal a future that magic alone may not be able to save…

R.V. Wilbur has been in love with reading ever since she received her first Little Golden Book library at the age of two. A love of words soon followed and, after publishing selected poems, she drafted her first book at the age of thirteen. Despite all of this she is still somehow terrible at writing blurbs, so this is about all you get. She currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, two children, and of course her black cat Rory Pond. And she's probably drinking coffee. No, she is definitely drinking coffee.

✨Rebellion of Stars✨

Wow. It has taken me a minute to figure out how to begin this review after such an emotional adventure. What I can truly say up front is that Wilbur is a MASTER at creating enticing, dark, and moving lyrical prose along with characters that will elicit and draw out emotions you never anticipated to feel. Each moment is intentional, difficult, and wildly worth it.

ROS is a standalone that can be read alone, but the epilogue is interconnecting and the POV follows a character we meet and fell in love with inside Cadence of Crowns. Alone, it stands strong, but as an interconnected series, it begs to be one of your favorites that grip you in the heart.

Following Elric, we are quickly thrust into movement as he is kidnapped and forcibly bonded to the Queen of a neighboring wicked kingdom, one he grew up in, lost everything in, and despises to return to. It is in this kingdom where Elric wades through the torment of grief and hopelessness, yet also stands a chance at finding salvation. Our FMC, Grace, is equally tortured but wields her feelings with a hardened demeanor and waspish quips. She is strong, immovable, yet haunted and at heart selfless, which is what got her to the point of no return. The hate to love is STRONG here and done so well. This journey with and between the two of them, along with the memories woven within, creates a story that is heartfelt, hurtful, captivating, and hopeful.

To me, this journey was more a focus on two shattered people finding peace for the first time while still encompassing unique magics and political intrigue. The plot twist was wonderful! And Elric is a hero to model after. His mercy and hope was lovely.

Tropes you may find in ROS are forced proximity, magical bonds, magic, political intrigue, second chance, hidden identities, banter, slow burn to nondescript low spice, nightmare soothing, grief rep, hate to love, and a HEA.

It is such a joy to be an arc reader for you, RV. Thank you and I can’t wait for what’s next!

R.V. Wilbur delivers an emotional and reflective romantic fantasy story strung together with lyrical prose and powerful moments. This dark, emotional read is the result of purposeful and deliberate thought to the characters--their actions, their trauma, and their choices, as well as to the depth and breath of a solid well-developed plot. It was one of my favorite reads of 2026 (I've already read it twice). R.V. does a stunning job of letting her characters tell a story that maybe some of us don't want, but absolutely NEED. The story is what happens when you stay true to your powerful prose and let the characters shine through in all their tarnished and jaded glory. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

The book follows Elric, and the book showcases this POV to perfection, as he is kidnapped and brought to another kingdom and forced to help their icy queen. The Elric of this story is not the same one you meet in A Candace of Crowns -- he's older, he's tormented, he's disillusioned, and he's scarred from the loss of his friends, of his first love, and he carries the weight of the world. He is fighting his position in this new kingdom tooth and nail. As a result, he will go head to head with Grace (our queen) leading to tension-filled moments of fierce wit and banter. These too clash together as fiercely as they love. Let me be clear -- Grace is a stunning character, but she is not cuddly. She is the product of the cages that others have trapped her in. She is the product of the choices she has made and she owns them. She's fierce, she's frosty, she's ambitious, and she's tortured. She is every woman who has ever had to hardened herself against external and internal forces to survive. No other character would have done better for Elric. No other character would have done for this book.

This romantic fantasy read is raw and real in all the best ways. It demonstrates the people we become in the wake of our choices, it demonstrates who we become when we do what we need in order to survive. This book is about loss, love, survival, and trauma wrapped in twists and turns of political intrigue, torment, mercy, and, and of course, at the heart of it all -- hope.

The swoon!!!! Elric knows how to make me melt! I love his humor and wit and just overall personality, but when this man makes declarations of love, I am a total goner!!! Knowing his past from the first standalone in this series made the emotional connection with Grace hit even harder! And my poor Grace, my heart bled for her repeatedly and everything she had to endure. The unending love you feel for these two is unrivaled! I could not get enough of their interactions and the entire time they are at the cabin…… so many amazing chapters!!!!

The overarching plot development, the twists, and the way the mysterious chapters were interwoven throughout this book was absolute perfection! There are forces at play that I can’t wait to see how they all come together! And that epilogue! There is a warning every single time and you’d think I would listen but alas I never heed the warning and OMG!!!!

I have loved every single one of her books and this one was no exception! Another five star read!

✨Interconnected standalone
✨Forced proximity
✨Magic
✨Nightmare comfort
✨One bed
✨Tell me to stop/leave
✨Banter & so much swoon
✨Forbidden love

“In my darkest days, you were the star that guided me, reminding me that there is always something worth fighting for.”

“Grief is not an ocean, it is quicksand,” she said firmly. “You fight, rise, and leave it behind, or it will continue to pull you down.”

“Sometimes the dream you conjure is more powerful than even the weight of reality.”

“You make me feel things that I did not know I was capable of feeling.”

“Then find me within the dark, for as long as I live, the stars will know your face. Find them. Find me.”

“You are wild and beautiful and everything I did not know would bring my soul to life. But if I may be so fortunate, may I have you? Your hand. Your body. Your heart. Your storm against my shore. Your music in my silence. Your darkness amid my stars.”

What is the world to suffocate the very thing that might restore its life? The Rebellion of Stars is the second standalone book in the Legend of the Trifolium Thrones Series, an Epic Romantasy reimagining of Anastasia + Tristan and Isolde, set in a world born out of fairytales, sweeping romances, timeless classics, childhood favorites, heaping helpings of nostalgia, and a few decades worth of dreams.

Out now from Night Owl Loft & available to read with Kindle Unlimited!

This series just keeps getting better and better! I love this world Wilbur has created. Such a beautiful idea of stars that are guardians of sorts to the dimension. Elric's story in The Cadence of Crowns broke my heart and if anyone deserves love, it's him! I love the tension and banter that comes from enemies to lovers and this book delivers!

Arc Review:

I am soft dnfing this book for now and may go back to it in the future.
I started this book as a stand alone without previously reading the first book in the series. My feelings may be different if I choose to read book one and circle back around to this one.

35% of the way in and I was having a hard time picking it back up. I was not being drawn in in the way I would like personally.

With that being said I did like Falchion as a character as well as the banter that would happen between the characters.

Wasn’t for me but might be someone else’s New Favorite book.

ARC Review

DNF at 43%

I’m really sad to say that I could not get into this book. I absolutely loved book 1 in this interconnected standalone series, so I had high hopes for this book. I just felt like there was not enough happening from a plot or relationship perspective to pull me in, even at 43%. I tried to pause and come back to it, but it didn’t help, so I’ve just accepted that this is not the book for me.

R.V. Wilbur always does a beautiful job of navigating trauma, grief, and healing with her characters. The heartache and challenges they face are tackled with such raw beauty and care that you can’t help but feel invested in their character growth and healing journeys. It makes their happy ending hit that much harder. And while your heart is aching, you’ll also be enjoying a beautiful, tension-filled romance with witty banter and all the swoooooon! Add in some unique magic, digestible world-building, and political intrigue and you’ve got yourself a 5⭐️ read 🙌🏼.

Trust the journey and the process. It’s so worth it. 😮‍💨 I look forward to continuing this series of standalones with interconnecting epilogues. Be forewarned, each book is a standalone with a HEA, but if you read the optional connecting epilogues you will be wrecked! 😆🫠 again, WORTH IT 🫶🏼.

I highly recommend this book if you love:

My oh my. It has been a while since a book made me cry and I cried not once not twice but perhaps three times in this. The yearn and the angst just gets me each time, it has to be my favorite trope! This is a romantasy inspired by Tristan & Isolde and Anastasia so you know heartbreak is a given. I won’t spoil too much but it is HEA in case you’re worried about TOO much heartbreak. Though it does take a while to get into it, once it picked up I couldn’t put this book down. I think the history and the magic was just a little too confusing for me to wrap my head around but once I got past that everything was great. Ending again felt a little rushed but overall a great read! Plus I loved that it’s a standalone - I haven’t read the first book in the series but I’m definitely adding that to my TBR :)

This was my very first ARC and I have struggled writing this review because I want to be as transparent as possible without feeling disrespectful, so I’ll start with what I did enjoy about the book.

I enjoyed the world-building and found myself wanting to read the first book in the series to understand more. These books can be read as stand-alones, however I do believe I may have enjoyed the book more if I had read the first one. The magic elements were well crafted and flowed well throughout the book. Easy to grasp and didn’t feel worn out. The adventures in the second half of the book made things more interesting and the connections and the backstory of the FMC definitely increased the rating for me personally.

My main issue with this book was the romance. In my opinion, the romance felt a bit forced. When the queen was introduced I wasn’t immediately like, “oh yeah that is going to be the love interest”. Maybe it is because it was solely a MMC POV, which I don’t typically read. I just didn’t feel very invested in the romantic side of their relationship. It was a slow burn which are my favorites, but it lacked a true yearning.

I think this book had so much potential and would’ve done really well in a traditional series format, but overall it felt rushed and as if something was missing.

If you enjoy a good adventure story with great world building, I’d recommend giving this a shot, but read the book one first (The Cadence of Crowns). If you want something with a great romance, I’m not sure if this would be for you.

Thank you so much to the author for allowing me to read the book early. I really appreciate it! Maybe I will go back and read The Cadence of Crowns and re-read this one to see if my opinions change. I will not be tagging her since this is not a 4 or 5 star review.

I was lucky enough to get to read this as an ARC. I came here right after reading the first book of the series.
I had half hoped to learn more of the fate of Wren in the book. So when I was immediately thrown into the story of Elric. I was a little confused and not really sure of things. Usually, when book 2 is announced, it continues with the same story without truly changing focus to other characters. Elric was a character in book one; it wasn't like a completely new character was in the metaphorical driver's seat as the sudden main character of the book. Don't get me wrong, I do like Elric as a character. I just wasn't really expecting it to completely focus on his story.
Though did I hate it? No. Not at all.
I did end up enjoying the chaotic twists and turns of the story between Elric and Grace.
When I first read the interaction with Grace, I wasn't really sure what to think of her character.
She was well written, but it didn't mean I wasn't really sold on her. I had my hopes that Katherina would somehow show back up and end up continuing that love storyline. When she did show up, it wasn't exactly how I would have thought at all.
Yet the more I read, the more I enjoyed the constant banter and the love ties between the two characters.
The cliffhangers, though. When they are wonderful and help to 'complete' one book and let it flow into another. I still am not the biggest fan of them because they make me want the next book more.
Unlike this one, I don't have the next book waiting for me and will have to be patient like others.
It is a sign however of a wonderful and beautiful book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

“I have no choice but to believe in you. I’ll simply die if I didn’t.”

Having no choice. Being stripped of your own will. Living in a cage, gilded or not. There aren't many things in this world worse than finding yourself chained, physically or mentally. Waking up one day and discovering that your will isn't your own anymore. How does one fight it?

The Rebellion of Stars has shown us that cages and chains come in many forms. Yet, whatever their form may be, the end goal is the same: to diminish, conquer, and destroy. Elric and Grace both fell victim to the whims of others; they just didn't know it when they first laid eyes on each other.

And still, even in these dire circumstances, there was a flicker of something. A memory? A sound? A taste? Something was there, the thinnest of threads guiding them toward each other. Oh, the hatred was there. The disdain. The pain. The hurt. The rage. It was all there, mixed together in a devastatingly beautiful way, the way only Wilbur can. And I gulped it all down. Every last drop.

If you read The Cadence of Crowns, Book 1 of her Legend of the Trifolium Thrones, then you've already met Elric. You've already seen his past and his present. The Rebellion of Stars gave us his future and the hard road leading to it. Up until the last pages of the book, my heart was racing, my soul weeping, but I didn't stop. I embraced it, I took it, and I felt it. And it was all worth it.

Thank you, R.V. Wilbur, for having me on your ARC team. Your stories never leave my mind.

If you’re looking for a standalone romantasy book set in a world of interconnected books set in the same world that’s full of dark magic, court politics and plenty of romance, check this book out!

You follow two main characters, the MMC Elric who is a literal star who came down to live among the world and has magical powers and the FMC, Grace, a queen of a haggard kingdom who’s barely got the support of her people to get the crown officially on her head. When the MMC is kidnapped for the queens benefit and forced into a bond with her so that he must obey and she has access to his magic, he can’t help but resent her. As the court starts to fall apart and an attempt is made on her life, they must flee the kingdom and seek refuge together after he saves her.

This book has plenty of that classic dark romantasy tension and will they won’t they that comes along so well when you toe the line between love and hate. I really enjoyed the banter between the characters and how they don’t always agree but at least somewhat understand each other. In the second half as they discover what they were to each other I was so devastated and seeing them both constantly sacrifice was heartbreaking. There were so many twists and turns and reveals that I never knew what was coming next. I am glad everything turned out as it did and I can’t wait based on that epilogue to what comes next! My rating 4.6/5!

Thanks to the author for the gifted ARC, all opinions given are my own!

4.5 stars. The Rebellion of Stars is a beautiful and enjoyable fantasy with action, political intrigue, ancient curses, and a romance worthy of the stars.

After the events in A Cadence of Crowns, Elric is kidnapped and taken to the kingdom of Obarian. As the last Isteriaeth left in Breteria, his magic is coveted. The new queen of Obarian, Graecerys, needs to bind with Elric, so she can harness the power of the stars to legitimize her rule as queen. But ancient curses and current strife collide, and Elric and Grace find themselves in a situation neither could have ever imagined, with the fate of Obarian - and Breteria - hanging in the balance.

I really enjoyed this one! This is such a unique series, and as a sequel and interconnected standalone, this book really stood out. The story was beautifully done, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I enjoyed the developing romance between Elric and Grace, and their individual character development as they both learn more about their own powers and learn to lean on one another. I also really loved the depictions of grief, and how that can affect us many years on. I also loved how this book also ties into the overarching elements in the Trifolium Thrones series, with new reveals and exciting twists that hint at some new and exciting developments in the series going forward.

Thank you so much to R.V. Wilbur for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own!

Thank you to the author for this ARC.

The Rebellion of Stars is a beautifully written epic romantasy story that I absolutely loved and still cannot get over.

I usually binge through books, devouring them in just a few sittings, but this one was different. The writing was so wonderfully crafted, the language flowing like the most delicate poetry, that I found myself slowing down. I needed to savour every page, every sentence, every moment in the story.

In this story, we follow Elric, the last Isteriaeth in the realm, who is kidnapped and taken to a neighbouring kingdom. There, he is claimed by Queen Graecerys. and tethered to her will, bound to serve her. My heart broke for Elric as he lost his freedom. Through glimpses of his tragic past, we come to understand the depth of his suffering and the weight he carries.

As the story unfolds, we also begin to learn more about Grace, the morally grey queen, and the tragic past that has shaped her. The more we learn, the more layered she becomes. Watching Elric and Grace’s story unravel was captivating, we learn how their pasts are deeply entangled, and as secrets are revealed, we witness them slowly find their way back to one another.

The Rebellion of Stars can be read as a standalone, or as book one in the Legend of the Trifolium Thrones series.

This book is for romantasy readers who enjoy reading interconnected standalones full of dark magic, court politics and enjoy a delicious love story.

The Rebellion of Stars

Wow! This second book grabbed me from the start and never let up with so many twists and turns and emotional turmoil… I loved every heart wrenching moment of it.

Nothing was as it seemed and I loved unpacking all the mysteries and secrets that were hidden in the story. Since being first introduced to Elric in the first book I was curious about him and so glad that this book dived deeper into his character and gave us his story. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t disappoint in the least.

My heart broke for Elric and his journey wasn’t an easy one. I loved how real his character was and the struggles he faced were relatable. You couldn’t help but root for him and want him to succeed.

Grace was a mystery and I don’t want to say too much there as there was a lot to unpack with her within the story.

This one was full of high stakes, action-packed, and impossible to put down. The world building was beautiful, the characters flawed and real, and the pacing perfection.

If you need more reasons to read this one, then how about; dark romantasy, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, captor/captive, hurt/comfort, morally grey, forbidden romance, slow burn, missing memories, high stakes, secret past, rebellion, tragic pasts, star bond, political intrigue, and so much more!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

While this is book 2 of a series, it is a standalone and I was able to easily read it without having read book 1 already. I'm not even sure if there's any overlap between book 1 and this one.

I liked Elric and wanted to follow along with his story. I struggled to like Graecerys throughout the book because she is the reason Elric is kidnapped and then bound to her against his will. And then she's just cruel, and it never seemed like any of the POVs were hers. I've never struggled to know whose POV a 3rd person narrative is until this book. A few times, it seemed like it might be Graecerys’ POV and maybe her treatment of Elric would get some context, but then I’d quickly realize it was still Elric’s POV. In part 3, it was easier to tell whose POV it was though.

“But it leaves no excuse for what you’ve done. If you did not want to take on the world, then you needed to step aside. Now it is too late.” – this quote from Elric does a pretty good job of summing up why I struggled to like Graecerys…

⭐️ “Anastasia” meets “Tristan + Isolde”
🌟 Loathing to Lovers
⭐️ Last of His Kind
🌟 Tortured Hero
⭐️ Morally Grey FMC
🌟 Secret Romance
⭐️ Nightmare Soothing
🌟 Ancient Celestial Magic
⭐️ Forced Proximity

ARC review

Elric, a being of star-born magic, last of his kind, is kidnapped and forcibly bound to Queen Graecerys of Obarian, a kingdom steeped in darkness and political unrest. Trapped in a gilded cage, Elric has trouble with his stolen freedom. He has haunting memories of loss, and the cruel irony of being used as a pawn in a queen’s bid for power. As he navigates the palace’s shadows and his own fractured past, he uncovers secrets about his magic, his lineage, and a brewing rebellion that could either save or doom him.
The book builds a rich, dark fantasy world with intricate lore, magic systems, and political intrigue. The world of Breteria is very vividly crafted. The emotional depth of Elric’s trauma and his struggle for freedom are clear, and the writing has moments of real power, especially in its darker, more introspective scenes.
However, I struggled to fully engage with the story. The pacing felt uneven, and while Elric’s internal conflict is well developed, the external plot, his captivity, the queen’s motives, and the broader rebellion, it didn’t pull me in as much as I’d hoped. The dialogue sometimes felt stiff, and the secondary characters, like Falchion and Graecerys, didn’t quite come alive for me.

The way I am just almost at a loss of words because of how amazing this world and this book is. As soon as I started reading the book... it was just the best feeling to be back in one of R.V. Wilbur's books - she has the most beautiful way of writing. I have read the first book in this series but you most definitely can read these as stand alone. This book was a roller coaster of emotions... I cried, shouted in anger, and experienced just about every other emotion! Thankfully this book didn't RIP my heart out like the epilogue in the first BUT there were twists and betrayals I DID NOT expect and those felt like a dagger straight to the heart. The author's writing really conveys the emotions that the characters go through so well - there was one scene towards the beginning that was particularly heart wrenching and I felt like I was there in the room. Her writing is so vivid that the book plays like a movie in my head. I am obsessed with this world and cannot wait to jump back in it!

Tropes:
👀Dual POV

💕Hate to Love

🗣️Anya and Dimitri level banter
💤Nightmare Soothing
🤫Secret Romance

The author crafts a sweeping tale of a reclusive queen and reluctant hero who find themselves at a crossroads. Their pasts are muddled and mired with grief. Long lost secrets are revealed that may change the tides of war, but not the longing in their hearts.

Every tender moment is laced with tension and yearning. And each reveal had me screaming. I was consumed by their nuanced love story!

In The Rebellion of Stars, prepare for epic angst, banter, heartache, and healing.

So grateful to the author for the review copy opportunity. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Oh. My. God!!!!

What else is there to say? This book was just so amazing. There has to be a better word than that but that is the only one I can think of at the moment. This book is an emotional roller coaster. I felt like I was biting my nails the entire time with nerves. It made me so emotional.

How in love are we with Elric? He is everything & more! I want to reread it so bad just for him. He made me laugh & swoon & teary eyed. Gaecerys is so dang strong. I loved how she would get under Elrics’ skin & vice versa. She had a lot of things to cart on her shoulders & she was trying her best. I was worried how everything was going to play out.

I love this book. This series. It’s like they’re so good & top tier. How can it get better & better with the next book? Idk but it just does. That dang epilogue gets me every time. I’m so excited for the next release. This series deserves all the love!

A brilliant, tragic, beautiful romance! The Rebellion of Stars is a romantasy that can be read as a stand a lone and is part of the Legend of the Trifolium Thrones series.

A girl destined to rule, a darkness that wanted to take her, and a star that would save her. The darkness and tragedy of this book broke my heart for both Elric and Grace. And the light and love they found together was so beautiful I cried happy tears. I cried a lot throughout this book, lol. The chapters split between the present and the past but were easy to follow and understand. There were surprising twists and turns I did not see coming that kept me engrossed in the story. The pace was perfect. This book was a movie in my mind as I read. There were no details missed.

I never wanted to put this book down and did not want it to end.

The love-hate dynamic is strong here and very well done. This follows Elric, the last born of the star, who is kidnapped and forced to bond with the cold Queen of the neighboring kingdom. Fighting for his freedom and position in this new realm leads to banter and tension until they discover what they mean to each other. There were so many twists, turns, and revelations that I was constantly guessing what would happen next. I enjoyed the rich world-building of this dark fantasy world, its magic system and political intrigue. But sometimes I struggled to fully immerse myself, due to the uneven pacing, occasional stilted dialogue, and the rebellion not captivating me as much as I expected. Overall, I enjoyed the fantasy world-building, the twists, the betrayal, and the emotional depth.
Thank you to the author for this eARC, this is my honest review.

Every time I read one of RV's books, I feel like I am reading a true fairy tale. Each story in the Legend of the Trifolium Thrones series feel so magical. Her tales make readers laugh, cry, gasp, fall in love and is even known for getting her books across the room.

The way that this book had me in a chokehold. I didn't want to put it down, I was upset when my adult responsibilities were interrupting Elric and Grace's love story. I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of the book and RV pulled some fast ones on me and I am still not over those twists.

I love Elric and Grace so much. They deserve the world for everything they have been through.

I can't wait for the next fairy tale RV writes.

Even though this is book 2 in the series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone. You won’t feel lost diving into this world.

Elric stole my heart… loyal, aching, and loving so deeply. 🥹🖤

Grace is our sharp, morally gray black cat who never softens for anyone. 🐈‍⬛

Their dynamic is what really made this one shine for me the tension, the banter, the slow unraveling of secrets and feelings. And the twists?? So good!!! 👀

If you love dark fantasy romance with celestial magic, ancient legends, layered characters, and hate to love tension simmering under the surface… this one has all of that. 🌙

I reached 43% of this ARC before deciding to DNF. The worldbuilding and politicking were decently written in my opinion, but the pacing wasn't for me. The romance wasn't there for me at all and hasn't developed enough for me to stay engaged. While I felt like I had an idea of where the story might be going, I wasn't feeling the forward momentum to make me want to keep going and quite honestly had trouble wanting to pick it back up. Readers who enjoy slow-burn slow paced political fantasy may have a very different experience but I was not feeling it after coming off of high stakes action packed novels. I'll shelve it for now and may finish it in the future.

I have been in a huge reading slump, and going into this book I didn't think it would help. It is mainly written in the MMC view and I generally like it when the FMC is the main.

But the more I read, the more I was sucked into the world and her characters! And it made complete sense why it was mostly in his POV.

I loved the world building and character arcs! Now this is the second book in the series, I haven't read the first... But I have to now! Definitely worth the read!

Thank you R.V. Wilbur for sharing your worlds with us =)

Thank you to the author for allowing me to be an ARC for this book. This is my voluntary review.

What a book! There were many different stages in this book with a good amount of dark romantasy tension. The banter and understanding between the characters kept things very interesting. When the discovery of who they were to one another came to light, sacrifices and heartache came with it. This book had so many twist and turn. Looking forward to the next one.

As always RV Wilbur takes you on a journey that spans every human emotion. The story is one of both trauma and grief but also beautiful growth. Elric is the sweetest soul with the hardest journey but I loved getting a lore in depth look into his life. I shall keep this review spoiler free but just know his ability to make you swoon is unmatched 😂. After that epilogue (once again you will unwell) - I CANNOT wait for the next book!

Lectura ARC
Es el segundo libro de la saga pero se puede leer como autoconclusivo .

Me tardé mucho en engancharme a la historia pero me gustó mucho que el personaje principal fuera Elric .

Su historia y la interacción con la reina me gustó.

“And you are a wonder so precious that even the darkness let me to live long enough to lay eyes on you.”

Tortured fallen star + icy queen + forced magical bond? I was already sold. ✨

Elric completely stole my heart in this book. He’s older, scarred from everything he’s lost, and carrying so much weight—but the wit, the banter, and those declarations of love? I was melting!!! Poetic! 🤌🏼😮‍💨

Grace is such a powerful FMC. She’s fierce, ambitious, and hardened by everything she’s had to survive. Watching these two clash, challenge each other, and slowly understand each other was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Once they’re forced to flee the kingdom together, the tension, banter, and emotional moments really shine. The twists kept me guessing the whole time, and that epilogue has me desperate to see what happens next.

An incredible romantasy from this author! Thank you so much @rvwilburauthor for the eARC and having me on the team. I can’t wait to read more ❤️✨
