Decided to read this now because I saw the kickstarter for volume 2 and if I like this I want to be part of volume 2 kickstarter.
A collection of stories of little monsters in an elementary school that gets raided by the FBI and all of the monsters have to go to human public school. At first I really liked it and decided to donate to the second kickstarter. But by the middle of the book I was starting to get bored. This is not a young kids book that adults would like. I’m sort of regretting donating to volume 2 but maybe I’ll like that one better.

A kickstarter project and labor of love, Monster Elementary is clearly a labor of love, bringing back the genre of family friendly comics. The premise of the collection centers around a group of monster children forced to attend a human public school after their elementary school is shut down by the FBI. A warm, wonderful comic with great characters, fun stories and gags, and some beautiful artwork.
A lovely collection of short stories mixed and jumbled together but with good pacing and some interesting twists of storylines that made for a fun read. There are so many variations of drawing styles between the stories that can be a little disruptive at times changing the pacing further but also at times disrupting the flow. Some of the styles work far better than others. However, still a great collection of stories that really show of the skills of the talented people involved in making it!
This is a book that tells a tale of monster children moving to a human kid elementary and the various adventures they have with them. This was a fun, all-ages book that my 3.5 year-ols daughter and I enjoyed from beginning to end.
