Review for Forever Ink only.

This story was so short that there wasn't really time to feel any chemistry between Callie and Morgan. Individually I liked them but together-Blah. Too many cheesy lines, the ending was so quick and melodramatic(don't get me started on their declarations of love) that in the end my head hurt from all the eye rolling.

ARC kindly provided NetGally for an honest review!

ok, so first things first: 1) I only read Takedown and Bound Memories and 2) I read this MONTHS ago! I was going to wait until I had read Forever Ink before I reviewed the Anthology, but since I have 'book series' OCD and have to wait till I have at least all the Montgomery Ink stories already published in my greedy little hands before I begin .... I think Ms Quinn and Ms Bristol deserve their reviews before ALL that comes together! LOL
So back to this anthology ... It was awesome. Seriously. Both stories were phenomenal. They were not my first work by either author and these actually spurred me on to add even MORE books to my TBR!
TAKEDOWN by Cari Quinn: This novella about reunited lovers was really fantastic! It was seriously HOT HOT HOT! The story basically is Liam, a Navy Seal, left Abby when he went overseas because HE thought it would be best for her (silly men). But then he comes back ,,, and he wants his Abby back ,,, but guess what? .... Life isn't that simple! You see, Abby is now living with Liam's brother ... yeah ... Liam didnt see THAT coming! lol SOOOOOOO, will these two be able to put past hurts and insecurities aside and become the couple they were meant to be? READ and you shall see .... :) The story was short, but not lacking. Not only do I recommend this novella very highly, but I'd just go ahead and invest in the whole Tapped Out series!
BOUND MEMORIES by Sidney Bristol: SO this is part of a series, that I have read a bit here and there (and that drives me BANANAS!!!) but it's a story all on its own. No cliffhanger or anything like that. It's just a short novella. Here's the gist ... Kit and Renee met when they were about 18/20 and just apprenticing as tattoo artist. A couple of years into their relationship, Kit just up and leaves to pursue his dream of tattooing in the 'big city'. He became really really famous in the business. Renee, on the other hand, left tattooing all together. Jump a decade or so later and Kit is back. Of course. To get his woman back. What I liked MOST about this story is the fact that even tho they were apart for SO many years, their sexual wants and desires for each other were completely in-tune! It's like they never missed a beat. THAT to me spells absolute destiny. :) I loved how this story played out and I loved all the kinky BDSM parts! ANOTHER series I immediately added to my TBR after reading this story! :)

FOREVER INK by Carrie Ann Ryan: stay tuned ..... :)

Forever Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan:
Morgan he's the type of man that makes your panties melt, "you can call me Morgan, Callie," he said, his voice a soft growl. "After all, you're about to have your hands on me." I loved Callie she didn't take crap from anyone, "I'm getting off subject. If the age difference truly bothers you, then I will see you at the shop to finish your tattoo. No hard feelings." He growled softly. Well, something was hard, and it wasn't his feelings." He doesn't like thinking of his girl with other men, "don't compare me to the other men, little Callie. I asked you if you wanted my c*** in your a**." I really enjoyed this story, I loved Morgan.
Takedown by Cari Quinn:
Liam oh Liam you naughty little boy, "you look so effing sexy in that tie-dye and those jeans. I know you can't wear a bra under this" - he slipped a finger between my breasts, bound up tightly in my bandeau top - "but what about those jeans? You got panties on, baby." I loved how Liam was all for his girl, "Liam's hand slid under my jersey to tease the lacy waistband of my panties. "You having a good dream about me, baby? You were moaning in your sleep. I couldn't take it anymore. I had to wake you up."
Bound Memories by Sidney Bristol:
I think that out of all the stories in this anthology I really enjoyed this one and Kit and his tactics, "he hadn't put his shirt back on after they'd called a time-out on their scene. She dragged her nails over his shoulders, his neck and down his chest. If he could mark her, she could mark him." There are times when he doesn't want his girl around anyone but him, "we'll be upstairs." Kit grabbed the carrier from Renee and led her back upstairs. He needed her to himself, just for a few moments. To reassure himself she was fine and alive."

I love anthologies for a number of reasons, one because I really do enjoy novellas and two because I get to enjoy a variety of authors all in one nice, little package and sometimes new to me authors. However, I LOVE when I pick up an anthology and every story is by an author I read whose work I enjoy and that is the case with Hot Ink. Three novellas that read like novels all containing hot as hell heroes and sassy heroines make this one pretty damn spectacular anthology.
Forever Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan 4.5 stars
So I’m kind of hooked on author Carrie Ann Ryan’s Midnight Ink/Montgomery Ink books and I flat out LOVED Forever Ink. It was exciting to see Callie move from apprentice to full fledged tattoo artist and for Austin (her boss) to trust her with a huge job on a good friend of his proved he knows that she is a great artist. At first I wasn’t sure about Morgan; he acted like a real jerk and while it was obvious he was interested in Callie I wasn’t sure what kind of game he was playing but he really came through when he needed to and took care of her. Even though they hadn’t known each other long there was just something about the way they interacted that lets the reader know they have something special. Their intimate scenes were often wild but yet there was an underlying sweetness to them that was hard to ignore. Yes this was a May-December romance and yes these two came from very different worlds, but they just seemed to fit; maybe it was because Morgan finally realized he had a right to be happy in his own skin, maybe it was because Callie decided to finally go after what she wanted consequences be damned but whatever the reason it worked and it made this a truly special story.
Takedown by Cari Quinn 4.5 stars
Wow so Takedown by Cari Quinn kind of took me by surprise but in a good way, I had forgotten about her Tapped Out series so this was a nice reminder and I loved that while this was a reunited lovers story it was so much more. Ex-SEAL Liam Walsh tracks down is estranged brother in New York City only to find the only woman he’s ever love, the woman he let go living in his brother’s apartment. Abby is shocked to see Liam at the door of the home she shares with Slater but she can’t deny the way her heart flutters and her hormones race out of control. Honestly, I loved that there wasn’t a whole lot of drama between these two because the potential was there for it to happen. They fall immediately into a sexual relationship which given their history wasn’t unusual or the fact that they both still had feelings for one another. (Just FYI, Abby isn’t cheating on Slater they really are just very close platonic friends.) Liam knows that Abby is skittish, he knows he screwed up by leaving her so he aims to make her understand that he’s back and he wants her with everything that he has. There’s no doubt they both have some scars, Abby from their failed relationship and the aftermath of it and Liam from his battle wounds and because he knows he not only left Abby behind but his brother and sister as well. While there were a few moments of sadness; overall this book had a feeling of joy and the power of forgiveness. Takedown is another heartwarming yet sexy as hell story from author Cari Quinn.
Bound Memories by Sidney Bristol 4.5 stars
Holy hell can Sidney Bristol write a hot, wicked, kinky love story and that’s exactly what this is a love story between two people who never quite got over one another. Kit Carson might be the reigning champion of the reality show Tattoo King but he’s back in Baton Rouge to see his dying uncle and the woman he should have never left behind. Renee LeBlanc doesn’t know what to say when Kit tracks her down but she knows they need to spend some time with each other even if it’s just for the closure she never got when he left before. I loved that this couple had so much history and that they knew each other so well yet they appreciated the way they had both changed in the time they were apart. They had an intense connection and dabbled in BDSM back when they were younger but the years apart they both learned some new tricks and they quickly fall back into playing together and more. Their chemistry is off the charts and their play and their sexual encounters were rough, intense, and extremely controlled yet out of control. They both have doubts which leads to neither one wanting to own up or admit their feelings and on top of that they are dealing with Kit’s uncle who is in hospice care and who with Renee’s help has been trying to solve a cold case; one he always thought there was more to adding a little bit of mystery and a whole lot on intrigue to an already very good story. P.S.–I want to give a special nod to Sidney Bristol for writing a hero whose looks are kind of normal. I like that she implied he was not completely ripped, that he was a little hefty, and fairly average looking; it was quite refreshing!

This anthology contains three very different stories but all feature tattooed lovers who enjoy "playing" in the bedroom. Expect lots of seriously hot and adventurous loving !
The first story is set in Ms Ryan's Montgomery Ink world and features the ever exuberant Callie . A very talented newcomer to the world of tattoo artists she is assigned the task of giving Morgan his first tattoo and right from the start Callie is keen to get her hands and gun on the intruiging man in her chair! Unfortunately Morgan at forty years old feels he is too old for the tempting Callie but there is just something about her that makes him want to take things further but not everyone is overjoyed at the idea! Step forward prejudice and a society that should really mind it's own buisiness ! Morgan is a guy who knows what he wants and goes for it, a true dominant but Callie surprised me as I never pictured her as submissive but they each bring something to the relationship that the other needs!
The second story is the shortest in the book and features Liam trying to reconnect with his family after a medical discharge from the Navy. He gets one hell of a surprise when he looks up his little brother as his ex girlfriend Abby is living with him and that raises Liam's jealousy . He wants so much to get Abby back in his life but convincing her of it is a whole new ball game. I had sympathy for Liam but he had behaved like an ass in the past but watching him try to make amends meant he had to open up and not just in the bedroom!
Third but by no means least is a story that's almost romantic suspense . Kit left town for better things more than ten years ago but he's back to visit his sick uncle Mick and more importantly contact Renee. Renee is the woman who taught him the delights of a kinky lifestyle but he's not that twenty year old boy anymore , no he has come back a man and has every intention of getting the woman he loves back in his life. Renee is deeply reluctant to trust that Kit is back for good but happy to have him ( even temporarily) back in her life and bed. Whilst trying to help Uncle Mick with an un solved murder case someone takes an unhealthy interest in Renee and danger comes crashing through her door!
So these stories are certainly entertaining and may even give a few new ideas to readers who wish to spice up their own love lives. If honest I connected a little less with Takedown but that's probably due to the short length . So two stories feature old lovers recnecting whilst the first is billed as a May to December romance but at forty years old I really don't agree! December? Think I'd consider that late summer personally but I did enjoy watching Morgan stand firm and show his inner alpha.
These are well written and very spicy so be prepared to need a cold shower !

Last month I reviewed Delicate Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan. I enjoyed reading the first book in her Montgomery Ink series though I wished I had read the first novella for the series. So when I had the chance to request the ARC for the next novella, I grabbed it. All three of these novellas are from current series.

Forever Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan is book #1.5 in the Montgomery Ink series and tells the story of Callie. We met Callie in book one as the apprentice to Austin Montgomery. At the beginning of this story she has just been promoted to her own station and can now do tattoos on her own. Morgan comes in to finally get a back piece done that he has been thinking on for years. He is 40, Callie is 25, and the 15 year age difference is definitely an obstacle. My biggest problem though was that I couldn't understand how a man who was supposed to be all Dom let his mother walk all over him. It just didn't jell for me.

Takedown by Cari Quinn is book #1.5 in the Tapped Out series. I haven't read anything by this author and didn't even realize it was from a current series. This was the shortest of the stories. I was confused a bit about Abby and Slater's relationship during the story, but I think this was intentional. It helped to add to the drama and uncertainty between Liam and Abby. This story worked well as a stand alone.

Bound Memories by Sidney Bristol is #3 in the Bayou Bound series. This was the strongest story for me. Kit returns home the conquering hero to find out that Renee had given up her dream of being a tattoo artist and now just sketches for herself. The two former lovers combust once in each other's company again. Plus there was a bit of a mystery and suspense as they help his dying uncle solve one last cold case. Even though this story did a bit of referencing back to the Midnight Ink Anthology and the characters in it, when they couple visited the shop, it would still work as a stand alone. It's just now I want to read the first Anthology more than ever.

All three of these stories had elements of some bedroom dominance going on, with Bound Memories being the most explicit and all three featured tattooed couples. Overall this was a nice anthology and has introduced me to some new authors. A solid 3 star read.

Three authors bring readers three captivating romances in one hot and sexy romance collection. Trust has to be earned or in some cases re-earned as these couples try to capture their happily ever afters and if a little Hot Ink is involved…all the better.

A steady to fast pace and smooth flowing plot captivates readers in three sexy stories of romance. The authors bring their stories to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination and well orchestrated suspense draws the reader deeper into the story while strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention and ensure the reader can’t put the stories down.

Romance and passion abound in frequent red hot sex scenes featuring some bdsm and anal sex scenes. The attraction and desire are hot and steamy and the relationships are emotionally gripping whether the characters are class consciously troubled, haunted by miscommunication issues from the past or trying to reclaim the one they left behind. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the stories as each couple works to achieve their happily ever afters.

Spine tingling anticipation builds in each story ensuring that the reader wants to know each and every outcome of these captivating characters. The authors ensure that the readers become emotionally caught up in their vibrant characters whose passions explode off the pages when they meet or reunite with their special someones. And while I wish the stories had been a little longer, they quite enjoyable and entertaining and I was completely caught up in each of the stories and can’t wait to read more.

Anthology with three stories, all with inked heros/heroines.

Forever Ink - Carrie Ann Ryan
Callie finally get her chance at Montgomery Ink, but her first client turns out to be just as judgemental as he´s gorgeous.
Morgan is finally getting the tattoo he wants, but his artist turns out to be just what he wants, and that´s not what he wants. She´s young, lovely, alive and nothing like the harpies his mother tries to set him up with.
But Morgan just can´t get over the age difference.
Until life or destiny gets into play, and who´s he to turn destiny down?
Quick read, smutty fluff and submission in a great combo.
4 Stars

Takedown - Cari Quinn
Abby thought they had it all planned out, when Liam left her two years ago "for her own good".
Now he´s back, but to see his brother. That she´s living with him was an unexpected surprise.
Lots of unresolved issues between them, will they try a second time?
Quick read, a bit too short for me. I´d love if it was more of everything.
3,5 Stars

Bound Memories - Sidney Bristol
Kit and Renee started their careers as tattoo artists together, but their lifes took two different routes. Kit is Tattoo King nowadays, known through TV, and Renee has stopped tattooing all together.
Now Kit is back, wanting to re-connect, but will Renee be willing to risk her heart a second time?
Quick read, smutty fluff and tattoos in a great combo. I´ll definitely go back to her series to read more from them =)

Three smoking HOT stories.

Forever Ink – Morgan is hitting the big 40 and is tired of playing by the rules. He has taken over the family business and done as he should for everyone else. Now he wants to do something for himself. He goes to get a tattoo at Montgomery Ink and is taken with Callie, the young woman who is assigned to do his ink. They have obstacles to overcome like the 15 year age difference, his mother and the fact that they come from two very different worlds. But nothing worth having comes easy. This is a sassy, sexy story that will have you rooting for these two to get together. I loved it.

Takedown –Liam took the easy way out walking away from Abby and his family not realizing how much they needed him. Now he has been medically discharged from the Navy and he needs them and needs to make amends. This second chance romance will leave you breathless. Not only is the sex super-hot the action never slows.

Bound Memories – The hottest and kinkiest of these three stories Bound Memories is also a second chance romance. Kit and Renee were lovers when Kit got an opportunity to leave town and he did. He walked away without saying goodbye and broke both their hearts in doing so. Now he is back and wants to try again. Renee can risk her body but is not so sure about her heart. Break out the fan and the ice water this is habanero hot!

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Forever Ink - Morgan and Callie were completely perfect for one another and I loved all of the different confrontations with his mother. I don't know that I would call 25/40 a May/December romance, but this book great.

Takedown - This one seemed to resolve itself very quickly considering all of the issues that were going on. That was really my only problem. We never really figure out what went on at the house with the mail and the fact that Liam and Abby were so quick to get past their past problems.

Bound Memories - Renee and Kit were great and I loved the fact that she was older than him. I liked the family connection and the hint of intrigue.

Overall, this collection of stories was fabulous and made me want to start hanging out in tattoo parlors.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in-exchange for an honest review.

This isn't bad so much as it's boring. It's you're pretty standard erotic romance color by numbers, which isn't a problem. I just didn't care about any of these characters. They weren't the tropes I like and find interesting. I should know better than to read romance about tattoos. Knowing too much about anythings makes it really hard to read romance about it because I get distracted by the details that do not fit my experiences.

I'm also deeply disappointed that they used a man of color with distinctly Polynesian style ink, but there are only white characters in this book. It's not like there's a lack of stock photos of white men with tattoos, trust me I know. That was more of a marketing issue that has put me off the publisher.

I loved reading Callie and Morgan's story. I got attached to Callie instantly and just could not stop reading until the very last page. It was such an interesting book. The chemistry between Callie and Morgan was so fun to read. They were so good together. The antagonistic outside influences made it very challenging at times not to want to reach in the book and smack them but it made Callie and Morgan's connection that more irresistible. I enjoyed reading this and hope to read more of the Montgomery Ink series. I really enjoyed Carrie Ann Ryan's writing.

This book contains three fast burning, fast paced stories of tattooed individuals that will steam up your evening.

All of the males are your alpha type man who likes to take charge and all of them give our main characters a second chance at romance and two of the stories the main characters were together in the past.

It was good read, but the stories flew past far too quickly for my liking.

The Hot Ink Anthology serves up three steamy, tension-filled novellas that will have you turning the pages in no time. Each novella in Hot Ink brings its own flavor of intensity, from the fiery connections to the deep emotional stakes. The mix of love, lust, and personal growth will appeal to fans of contemporary romance with a dash of drama and heat.

All three stories in this anthology highlight tattooed characters that definitely turn up the heat! The following is a review of each story in the collection.

Forever Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan

This was my first experience reading a story by Carrie Ann Ryan and I quite enjoyed it! Callie and Morgan come from two very different worlds, but they share a sexual attraction that defies their backgrounds and made for some hot scenes together. There is an underlying acknowledgement that things between them run deeper than they seem, no matter how much they would both like to deny it. Secondary characters were important to the story as well, adding definite conflict to their developing relationship that makes their romance all the sweeter when they are willing to put aside others for the sake of each other. I'm looking forward to reading more of the Montgomery Ink stories. 4 entertaining stars!

Takedown by Cari Quinn

I really enjoyed this reunited lovers novella telling of the romance between Liam and Abby. The details of their previous relationship are enough to have the reader dive right into their story and experience the heartache Abby felt when Liam broke up with her feeling that the long distance military relationship wasn't fair to her. But it's obvious from their first meeting again that Liam didn't plan to hurt Abby, and was hoping that letting her go would help her find someone better than him. The sexual attraction between them never stopped despite their separation and the love scenes between them are sizzling. There are some interesting dynamics with Liam and his brother Slater that are well addressed in the story and readers who have read the first book in the Tapped Out series will appreciate visits from old friends. 4.5 stars!

Bound Memories by Sidney Bristol

In this reunited lovers romance, we have the story of Kit and Renee, separated now for several years after Kit left to chase his dream of tattooing in the big leagues and Renee abandoned her dream to carve a new life without him. This is a BDSM themed romance and while the play scenes between them went a bit beyond my comfort zone, I liked the fact that both characters were on the same page and knew what they wanted and expected from each other in that aspect of their relationship. I liked both characters, and it was obvious that Kit was trying to make amends for having left Renee so many years earlier. The story moved at a good pace and had some tender moments mixed in with the sexy ones. As well, there was a suspenseful subplot as an undercurrent to their romance to keep the reader on their toes. 4 stars!

Forever Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan
This was by far my favorite of the three stories in this book. I loved both Callie & Morgan. Loved her being in her early twenties and him at forty. But I think what I loved most of all was that since this was a novella, there wasn’t too much room for excessive drama. These two had a short period of time to get between the sheets, but yet the author was able to make it seems as if they still had to work to get there.

I had not read anything from the three authors in this anthology prior to this and I think that Ms. Ryan is one that I will be seeking out in the future. She was able to accomplish what I feel a novella is expected to do. The story was concluded but it still left you with a desire for more. As a reader, I want characters that I don’t want to let go of just because the words ‘the end’ are typed. Morgan & Callie were these type of characters for me.

Takedown by Cari Quinn
Takedown was one of those stories that left me wanting the full story vs the condense version. Being that I had not read something from this author before and knowing that this was a bonus novella for her series, it makes me want to pick up that series. Liam’s character was likable as was Abby but it was also about the other characters that were briefly part of the story that made you want to know a little more about them. I love a book that gives me a hero with a military back ground and who is a little damaged. Liam was both.

Bound Memories by Sidney Bristol
Unfortunately I DNF’d this particular story in the anthology. About halfway through the story I wasn’t feeling the characters and had a hard time following along. I think I needed to feel that these two had a strong enough past connection that kept them tethered in the present as they reunited. But once they started their time playing a bit with the whole BDSM thing, I just wasn’t feeling that vibe. There was nothing that sort of fit for their behavior when it came to their play. The theme felt forced a bit for these two and I just couldn’t jump right into this dynamic without a backstory. I thought after putting it back down that I’d be able to get into eventually, but still just wasn’t able to.

Forever Ink
By Carrie Ann Ryan
★★★★☆
This is part of the Montgomery Ink series, but reads just as easily as a stand alone.
Callie is 25 and just been given the responsibility of her own work station in the Montgomery tattoo studio. The boss knows she is ready to do the work solo. He tells her that a friend is coming in to get his back inked and Callie is going to do it.
Morgan is 40 and is the owner an C.E.O. of a large company. The wealth has been earned by generations of his family. Morgan has had enough of his mother trying to find him a wife from elite families. He doesn't want the kind of marriage his parents had.
It's lust at first sight for Callie, but Morgan treats her like a bothersome child.

This book is strictly for Adults. Strong language and graphic sex. A good story about standing up for what you want. Don't let the bastards grind you down. L.o.l.

TAKE DOWN
BY CARI QUINN

Part of the MMA series Tap Out.
★★★★☆
Liam is a Seal who has just been medically retired. He has come to New York to try and reconnect with his siblings. They cut him off when he left for his duty. The last person he expects to find in his brother's apartment is his ex girlfriend.
Abby who came to New York to remake her life after a devastating loss. She has an intense reaction to Liam's return.

This is another very emotional story. Of hidden feelings and unspoken words. With some hot sex.
I was crying for about half of this story.

BOUND MEMORIES.
SYDNEY BRISTOL.

★★★★☆
This book is strictly for adults only, due to BDSM.
Kit has returned to his home town after winning a television tattooing contest. The only family he has in town is an uncle he never got on with, who is dying.
Renee is the girl he left behind, they were tattoo apprentices together. She was always a better artist than him, but because of her sex never got a fair deal, so she gave it up.
They restart their BDSM play, but can they make it more. ?

This book was so far outside my comfort zone. The story is very good, and the characters are strong and sexy. Trying to reclaim lost love after so long. With a bit of danger to spice things up even more.

Callie has just about everything she wants. She works at Montgomery Ink and is part of the family. She loves being their little sister and is working to get her own chair at their shop.
What she realizes is that she's missing something and is lonely.
Morgan is forty. He's successful, rich, and can have everything he wants. Now he wants to get the tattoo he always wants and when he walks into the shop the last thing he thought he would experience is seeing his tattoo artist and falling for her.
She may be young but he's everything he needs and wants. Can they overcome not only their age difference but their background differences when issues arise? It was hot sex, chemistry, and fun to read.

Takedown by Cari Quinn

When you realize you have made mistakes in your life and that in order to be happy in life you must face those mistakes and make life better. For Liam he was the perfect SEAL and lived life the way he wanted to. However now he realizes he left behind his family and the love of his life.
Abby was devastated when Liam left her. Now years later she is faced again with the man she never really fell out of love with. Will he convince her things have changed and he deserves another chance? Its a quick read and I really enjoyed it.

Bound Memories by Sidney Bristol

Bound Memories had it's up and downs. Kit has come home to set roots and get back the girl he loved long ago and hopefully set things right. I was okay with that. THen you get to Renee and she has given up on tattooing because of how the "guys" treated her. She's drawing in her spare room, and she works at a police station.
Okay okay so it was good but not. I feel like it was almost two stories the second chance romance and the mystery action parts. I love Sidney Bristol and the books I have read. But I'm up in the air about this one. Like I said it was good but I'm not in love with it like the others.

4 out of 5 Licks

Overall I enjoyed this anthology. My favorite of the bunch was Bound Memories. I've really grown to love Sidney's characters and she does a good job sucking me into the story and making me want the characters to have a happy ever after. I liked that Kit wasn't your typical super muscular hero. He doesn't have an 8-pack and he's sporting a beard and I loved him for that. I occasionally read about female characters who aren't perfect but I don't know if I've ever read about the opposite. I also liked that even though Kit was on a successful TV show he wasn't rich even after winning the show. There are so many rich folks stories out there right now that I'm starting to get a bit tired of them. It's nice to be able to have the money for anything but it's more real for me when they have to work a day job to make ends meet-guess it's more like my life. lol

I enjoyed Carrie and Cari's stories as well. Forever Ink is all about the rich older man/younger woman troupe. For an older man I was a little surprised at how much he still bowed down to his mother. He did eventually grow a pair (they were always there just ask Callie she's knows), but it took a while for him to use them. Callie was a lot of fun. She is very much a free spirit who marches to the beat of her own drum. She is a super likable character. Tapped Out was just okay for me. I really didn't connect with Liam or Abby. It all felt a little unnatural and forced to me.

The Hot Ink Anthology is a collection of three short stories all revolving about tattooing and ink. In Forever Ink, tattooist, Callie, meets older man, Morgan, and they start a relationship despite the disapproval of his conservative mother and the daughter-in-law she wants to have. In Takedown, Liam returns home to find his ex-girlfriend has been staying with his little brother and he has to reconcile both with her and with the rest of his family. In Bound Memories, tattooist and reality TV show winner Kit, returns home to find his ex-girlfriend, Renee, has given up tattooing and isn't the same free-spirited girl he left behind.
This was a quite a good collection of short stories, although I think that Takedown probably could have done with a longer format to tell the whole story of Liam and Abby's relationship. It felt like there was a lot of plot skipped out or glossed over there. Forever Ink was a good opening story and I felt the relationship between Callie and Morgan was totally believable, however, I could have done without the cartoon evil-mother/rival in the story as it made the who thing feel a bit more unbelievable and Mills and Boon-y. Overall I enjoyed reading Bound Memories the most which is set in and around New Orleans and involves the two ex-lovers, who have genuine chemistry, deciding whether or not they want to give their relationship another chance after life took them in different directions.
A good collection, but could maybe have been a little longer. 3 stars.

This is a 3 story anthology with three stories that are a treasure trove for those who like to read about hot tatoos and hot scenes Each story was different in some ways, At first glance I assumed this might be another anthology of novice authors with bad editing, under-developed characters and cliff hanger endings. These seem to be all the rage right now. But with authors like Carrie Ann Ryan and Cari Quinn I knew this was gonna be good. I can honestly say that there wasn’t a story in the group that I can say was boring or just written poorly. I was surprised to find myself really impressed with the book overall. I had not read stories from many of these authors, so there were even a few authors which I will put on my “To Read” list. All of the stories were VERY well written and type-o free. I really liked that the stories all have lots of good (steamy) parts without a lot of dragged out background or introductory material. There wasn’t a story that was boring or not well written. You can't go wrong with this book.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!

This review is based only on the story by Carrie Ann Ryan.

The little that we had seen of Callie made me like her. Her personality fit in with the others in the tattoo shop. I was glad when she got her own space, but was a bit surprised by her first client and the grandiose of the job.

Morgan didn't give a great first impression, actually his second wasn't much better. I felt for Callie and having to encounter the pit of vipers when helping out her friend. I was glad that Callie was able to stand up for herself and let Morgan and others know what she thought of them.

Even as I say that I did like the chemistry between Morgan and Callie. When they just let themselves be there were great together, but when Morgan stopped to think about what his family wanted from him things seem to wobble.

I didn't expect Morgan's mother to play the role she did, but was glad when Callie stood up to her and put her in his place. Even better was when Morgan let Callie know what he was going to do about his mother, it was the only move to make for him to be happy with Callie.

Forever Ink
Morgan is hot, sexy and a Dominant. Callie is a tattoo artist from the wrong side of the tracks, but she doesn't take crap from anyone. They have an instant connection and a spark that will burn the pages down. I enjoyed the story, it was steamy and ha an emotional undertone for both of them.

Takedown
This one was my favorite out of the three. Liam has come back to reestablish his relationship with his family and his ex, Abby. He is very sexy and very naughty. I loved the way Abby stood up for herself and asked for what she wanted. This was a very emotional story on all fronts, I love second chance love stories and this one was amazing.

Bound Memories
I really enjoyed this one as well. Kit and Renee are former lovers and once in the same room again the hot chemistry is still there. I love second chance romances especially when there is a little mystery involved.

I enjoyed this anthology and I think the authors did an amazing job with all three stories.

I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Carrie Ann Ryan "Forever Ink" ***
I'd have given this 4 stars if it weren't for the ending that would make a harlequin novel sound Shakespearean. It took the spunk out of the heroine and the alpha out of the hero and was completely trite. Especially for this author.
But the rest of the story was a fun little May/December, 'opposites attract' romance. The mother-in-law is so over the top it's ridiculous, but the MCs are engaging.

Cari Quinn "Take Down" ****
This was fun and a bit different from the usual 'return of the old beau' theme. Abby takes no guff, but of course Liam is irresistible to her. The author does a good job explaining why he did what he did and how he comes to see the wrongness of his past reasoning, when viewed from from the perspective of his siblings and lost love. I felt like by the end (and this is a short read), Liam and Abby have a better relationship than they did before.

I only read forever ink.

This was a good start, but still didn't give me enough. It was crazy fast. Older (40 years old), rich, very dominant man (Morgan) fell ridiculously fast for way younger (15 years), independent, spunky apprentice/new artist (Callie). Everyone in his rich pompous world is afraid of him except his crazy backwards thinking bitch of a mother and an overly enhanced plastic gold digging bimbo. Yet somehow in the first moment in Callie's presence "Big Bad" scary Morgan is an insecure scared little boy. Each time he is in her vicinity he seems even less sure of himself. This book makes you love Callie, but not so much Morgan. I hope we get a much better view of him in the books to come. I really wanted to like him.

Ahh! Love that Montgomery Ink crew sooo much! It was great to peek at the spunky Callie to see what makes her tick. And Morgan---so alpha male. Chemistry and sexy times between these two were off the hook!!! I was so happy to see both of them stand up for themselves and their feelings regardless of the outside world. Be sure to check out the rest of this series if you haven't read this author before. You won't be sorry!

Cari and Sidney are new authors to me. Their stories are equally intriguing. Lots of inked testosterone flowing through this anthology. Loved Slater in Takedown. Would love to see a book about his brother next! Overall 4.5 hearts for the selection.

Hot Ink Anthology is an enjoyable quick read. There are three short novellas that have love on fast forward.

Forever Ink is the tale of older, rich Morgan and cute artsy tattoo artist Callie. There are a lot of dramas with this couple in a very short amount of pages.

In Takedown, Abby and Liam are two lovers who are thrown back together unintentionally. They find that time and distance has not cooled down their love or attraction.

Bound Memories is another reunited lover’s tale. Kit returns to his home town hoping to rekindle his love for Renee. A little bondage, crime solving and tattoos.
