Whew. Forbidden Vengeance is a ruthless, high-stakes, steamy ride through betrayal, power plays, and forbidden passion—and I ate it up like Sunday dinner.
Mario DeLuca isn’t your typical mafia hero. He’s been pushed out by his family, carrying enough emotional damage to make a therapist cry, and he’s back in New York with vengeance on the menu. Elena Santiago? She’s his brother’s best friend’s girl… kind of. Oh, and she’s pregnant with the enemy’s child. Messy? Absolutely. Deliciously so.
But don’t get it twisted—Elena is no delicate damsel. She’s playing every side like a chess grandmaster in six-inch heels. Ambitious, clever, and morally murky in a way that makes you question your own sense of loyalty. She’s betraying her bestie Bella, sleeping with Anthony Calabrese (technically not cheating, but still eyebrow-raising), and aligning with Mario to burn it all down. And somehow, I couldn’t look away.
The sex scenes? Raw. Unfiltered. The kind that’ll make you sweat and clutch your Kindle. The chemistry between Mario and Elena is fire and fury—it's less about sweet nothings and more about “if I don’t have you right now, the world might combust.” If you like your intimacy primal and emotionally loaded, this is for you.
What I Loved: - Elena’s boss moves and ruthless intelligence. She's not just a pawn; she is the game. - Mario’s broken, brooding antihero energy. He’s loyal to a fault, even when he’s doing all the wrong things for all the right reasons. - Found family vs. blood loyalty. This book dives deep into what truly makes someone “family”—and the cost of choosing love over legacy. - The improved writing. It’s tighter, more layered, and absolutely binge-worthy.
What Gave Me Pause: - The betrayal of Bella really stung. I know this is mafia romance, but the “sisters before misters” code took a direct hit. - Elena using sex to get intel from another man (even though it’s strategic) might be a hard no for some readers. Not quite cheating, but it skirts the line in a way that could be triggering. - A lot is happening plot-wise, and while I was invested, a few key questions were still left hanging. And that “DeLuca bride” line in the blurb? MIA in the book itself. A little misleading.
If betrayal, power, and passionate chaos are your brand of catnip, Forbidden Vengeance delivers. It’s mafia romance at its twistiest, with characters you’ll root for even when you shouldn’t. Mario and Elena are the kind of disaster duo that sets the page on fire and makes you question your morals—and I loved every minute of it.
🔥 Spice Level: 4/5 – feral, desperate, "don't read this in public" energy 💣 Drama Level: Mafia-grade explosions 👑 Trope Bingo: Enemies to lovers, forbidden love, antihero x morally gray queen, found family vs. bloodline
Highly recommend, but with a content warning for betrayal, morally gray decisions, and some questionable bedroom strategies. Still, this one owns its chaos—and I was here for all of it.

At its heart, this book is about found family vs blood. But it’s covered in betrayal, espionage, and a woman whose web of plans would make spiders weep. This woman is Elena, who is not only playing both sides, but every side until she decides where her (admittedly compromised) loyalties lie. It’s easy to admire Elena as a strong and intelligent person. It’s less easy to admire her personally, when she’s betraying her best friend and sleeping with an enemy strictly for intel. Those are hard to get past and I had trouble accepting both. It’s easier to understand why she’s pretending to be the enemy’s mistress, however distasteful. It’s a practical way to get intel, but it bothered me because it’s difficult to read a romance where either the hero or heroine is sleeping with someone else. It’s not cheating, exactly, but it could be triggering at worst and ugly at best. I also had difficulty with Elena betraying Bella. They are supposed to be closer than family. This bothered me more than the Anthony thing because it is more wounding and faithless. It’s supposed to be sisters before misters, and Elena is stomping all over that. And that’s just the setup for the story. Mario, the hero/antihero is best described as complicated. And he’s wounded enough to be catnip to many readers. He’s the very embodiment of someone deciding what family is and the choices made for and about love. The sex scenes are visceral. Feral. Carnal. And so hot that they shouldn’t be read in public. Bravo for the electricity between Mario and Elena. If betrayal of friends or the H/h having sexytime with someone who is not the h/H is triggering to you, you won’t enjoy the book. But if you can get past that, it’s definitely worth reading this tangle of loyalties, love, and choices, if only to see women being absolute bosses.

Book 2 in the series is everything Book 1 wasn’t. It’s the love story of Elena and Mario who we met in Book 1. Mario is Matteo’s half brother and Elena is Bella’s best friend. They are not supposed to want each other because Mario is Matteo’s arch enemy. But the heart wants what the heart wants!
In this book the violence is popping and understandable because Mario is an outsider looking for revenge. The sex is spicy between Mario and Elena, as well as the love and affection.
The story: Elena is the overlooked party planner who listens carefully at all the mafia family parties, holding onto secrets and gathering information. Mario is the half brother who was pitted again Matteo by their father. His main reason for living is revenge against Matteo because of the way his father treated him. Turning him into a soulless fighting machine.
After he abducted Bianca, Matteo’s daughter when she was 12, Mario has been a fugitive. He’s been living with the Irish mob in Boston acting as their enforcer. He hooks up with Elena to gather secrets to take down his brother’s organization. But they fall in love while she’s carrying another mob boss’ baby.
That’s when the story gets even more interesting. I loved everything about this book…the character interactions, the way the violence is woven into the story and why, the strategies and get backs, and the love that both brothers have for their partners. That love of family that finally helps them reconcile and fight together.
Again the women are a leading force as the families square off against each other! This would have been a 5 ⭐️ read if they’d just told the family secret. I think I know what it is but I would like to hear it! For that reason I’m rating this 4.5⭐️. Onto book 3 in the series!
Three stars because if I have to hear the name “Giuseppe” one more time, I’m going to lose it. Seriously, if I pulled one hair out of my scalp for each time “ Giuseppe” was said, I’d be baldheaded and I have really thick hair lol. I digress. I wasn’t a fan of Elena when she was introduced in the first book, something about her rubbed me the wrong way and well this book pretty much summed up why. She’s literally the reason why she was always in danger by playing this “game” from the beginning she didn’t listen and even later on she continued not to listen and got herself in a very sticky predicament, she still had the audacity to try and gaslight Mario like girl bffr she needed to be pistol-whooped a few times, all of a sudden she turned so tough. I don’t know why but she never sat well with me and let’s not forget how she betrayed her best friend. Once again everything was avoidable if she just listened but I know that goes against her personality lol.
Also, I know I can’t be the only one who felt bad for Anthony like he was good to Elena and I felt like he genuinely had an interest in her. Elena was the one who personally to me instigated his fall and I really didn’t see the reason for it, maybe it went over my head. You lied to him, decided to keep his baby, and then drive that man to his demise—like you guys literally are no better than him. Elena and Mario literally got away with a lot of things given the severity of what they did. Maybe I’m a hater idk but I definitely preferred the first book over this one!
I really did enjoy Marco—maybe a potential book in the future!

This is a beautiful romance in the Bonds of Betrayal Series where Mario finds himself in a struggle between blood and family with the challenge of finding love. Mario was exiled ending up in Boston working with the Irish. Years later Mario decides to recruit Elena the perfect party planner to all the mafia families to his dark side putting her in an impossible situation but giving her a chance to become a queen. Elena’s ambition and strategic mind will allow her to become a force to be reckoned with and in doing so she betrays her best friend, Bella. Elena spies on a man she’s in a relationship with ending up pregnant. Mario snaps and makes a move to be more with Elena and he finally understands the decisions his brother made years ago with family over blood. What an amazing relationship Mario and Elena create for themselves and they learn to survive with a constant struggle to remain alive and end those responsible. Their situation becomes unbearable after the truth comes out, friendships ending, destruction, danger, death and when push comes to shove Elena ends up doing what is necessary to protect those they love and take down the empires of men living in the past who have lost control. Elena becomes a master mind behind those who thought she was just a pawn. Watching the loyalty of family heal old wounds leads to a future full of hope and love. Lots of action, thrills and a extremely good story!Elena is a event planner on the front and spy as second nature. Not even her best friend Bella nows, but Bella is married to Matteo who is Mario 's brother who is in exile in Boston by his brother.Mario wants to take his brother down and he is using Elena to go it at the same time she is at the events. At one these events she meet Anthony C.a crime boss who is dirty and slimy,Elena is still trying handle Mario 's plans and at the same time find out more on Anthony and at the same time Mario is getting antsy when Anthony is too closed to Elena,so he makes hidden trips to new York to check on Elena and one time to many Mario 's man who gave him money and support calls in his marker the one that has been fully paid back,he says it him not Elena ,Mario decides it her,so now besides his brother,Anthony he has to watch his back from Seamus O Connor.Their is a hidden war going to take place and El is right in the middle of it and now she has a secret to hide but she hasn't hidden it from Mario, he has his ways and he knows her tells,so he knows her secret before she confess it.There is so much action in this story, where best friends aren't friends now, enemies become hidden allies and even family who turn their backs once open up to each other. Please read this story, you won't be disappointed!
Even though we knew these characters, you almost are rooting for these two like I never did throughout most of the book for Matteo and Bella. There is more to Mario, the exiled brother, than meets the eye. Yes, he kidnapped his niece, held her at gunpoint and lost his brother while making him choose blood from love. And there is definitely more to Elaina than meets the eye; not just some party planning extraordinaire who can handle these mafia families. But when these two team up while she’s using Anthony Calabrese to get information; the world is not ready for what these two can do!!! While the writing has gotten exponentially better for this book, I’m still left angry because some questions still technically have not been answered. And I know you have to make the readers fiend for it and all but this is a bit beyond ridiculous. Also, the second sentence in the book talks about becoming a DeLuca bride…huh?! That’s no where in this book. I was waiting around every turn for some sort of a ‘you can’t have her because we are already married’ kind of thing that never happened. All in all, this is was a much more enjoyable read.
Forbidden Vengeance by Ajme Williams absolutely devoured me—in the best, most obsessive, up-all-night kind of way. You know when you read that one line in the blurb—“She’s carrying a Calabrese heir. Too bad I’m going to make her a DeLuca bride”—and your jaw drops because you already know you’re in for a morally gray rollercoaster of betrayal, passion, and war? Yeah. That was me. Fully hooked. Fully feral.
From the second Elena Santiago stepped on the page, I knew she wasn’t some helpless pawn. No, she’s a queen playing her own dangerous game. She’s sharp, cunning, and absolutely magnetic. And the tension between her and our antihero? Unreal. This man is pure vengeance wrapped in silk and shadows, and watching him unravel because of her? Whew. I was sweating.
This isn’t a sweet love story. It’s savage, forbidden, and deliciously twisted. It’s two powerhouses circling each other in a world full of secrets, bloodlines, and deadly promises—and somehow finding something tender in the middle of all that fire.
I lived for the high stakes, the forbidden pull, and the unapologetic heat. And that final line? “Maybe I want to burn”? I felt that in my bones.
If you’re like me and crave your romance with revenge plots, mafia drama, forbidden love, and a heroine who can go toe-to-toe with her enemies (and lovers), Forbidden Vengeance will scratch every single itch. Elena and her DeLuca devil made me believe that sometimes love isn't about softness—sometimes, it’s about setting the world on fire together. 🔥💀💍
10/10 would trade sleep, morals, and maybe my last name for this couple.
First of all, WOW! This book had me on my toes the entire time I read it. It really spoke to me on a personal level - their story, their characters, their choices, the love they have for each other. I love how Mario always chose her and never judged her for anything. He's the standard! I love how he always treated Elena with respect and never underestimated her and always saw her potential. I love that he always chose Elena, no matter the consequences. And most of all, I love his character development. And Elena, WOWW! I literally almost have no words for her. Her character is so well-written I got lost in her world. She's persevere, kind, strong and she always proves herself when others underestimate her. I love that she chose love over everything, which turns out to be her best choice. I love the book so much I would gladly read it over and over again! I hope to read more of the author's books in the future:).

This is the second book in the Bonds of Betrayal series. This one follows Mario DeLuca and Elena Santiago. Mario has been exiled from his family and is out for vengeance. He teams up with his brothers enemies and even his wife's closest friend to take him down. Elena is tired of being overlooked and underestimated so she does the unthinkable she betrays the people closest to her. She's cunning, smart, strategic as she plays a complex and dangerous game of not just playing both sides but multiple sides. Buckle up their story is a real page-turner that is labyrinthine of betrayal, vengeance, deception, revenge, danger, espionage, family drama, loyalities and romance. The secondary characters enriched the storyline especially the strong, fierce and bada** women.
I'm looking forward to the next book featuring Sofia and Dante. I'm also hoping there will be one with Siobhan.

Forbidden Vengeance is absolutely suspenseful and a page turning mafia romance. While reading this book, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this fantastic mafia romance. I thought the story to be captivating from start to finish, entertaining and an absolute pleasure to read. Forbidden Vengeance is fabulously written, amazingly balanced with action/romance and beautifully executed by Ajme Williams. She continues to showcase what a brilliant author she is with each book I’ve read by her so far. In my opinion, she pours her all into the stories she creates and writes for her audience’s enjoyment. Forbidden Vengeance follows the story of Elena and Mario. I absolutely adored getting to know both of these characters as well as witnessing the feelings between Elena and Mario grow stronger as the story progressed. The chemistry between Elena and Mario is off the charts, smoking hot and undeniably irresistible. I would certainly give Forbidden Vengeance as a recommendation for anyone who loves reading mafia romances. I’m looking forward to reading more fantastic romances from Ajme Williams in the future.

Choosing Love Over Everything - This is beautifully written romance story about love, loyalty, family drama and betrayal, with enough panty melting steaminess to keep you entertained. I was so engrossed in the story, that I couldn’t take a break until I finished reading it. However, the most important lesson I took from the story was to never underestimate women or mothers, as they are able to strategise on the go and make long-term plan, that most people would never think about or consider. Grab a copy of this book, carve out a few uninterrupted hours, switch off your phone and get yourself a drink of your choice, then find a place to relax and embark on one heck of a mind blowing reading experience.

This is Elena and Mario's book. Elena is an event planner playing all sides and is a well thought out character whose complexity and strength never wavers. Mario is a complex character who at first the reader has difficulty liking and he grows in multi dimensions and becomes the hero. The complexity of the story line is one of the few I've read. It keeps you guessing what will happen next. It's fast paced in the action and once Mario gets pushed too far, in the romance. Mario and Elena explode but you can tell it's been simmering slowly for quite a while. This is a must read - I rarely give out fives, but the complexity of the story called for it. I really enjoyed Mario and Elena’s story! It was filled with intrigue, passion and danger. Mario may be the exiled Deluca but for the right women this man is ready to do anything and everything for them and their future. I really enjoyed Elena’s character, she a spitfire!! Her guilt over betraying her best friend for love eats at her until she realizes that Bella would do anything for her family too. The chemistry between Mario and Elena is SIZZLING hot!! I enjoyed family drama and friendships in this story too. This was definitely a remarkably interesting, tantalizing and entertaining story!!
An intense action packed story. One of my friends suggested me Ajme Williams and my first read of her’s was Silent Vows which was a decent Mafia Read. But I was intrigued by Mario in that book. And Forbidden Vengeance was every bit my favourite Mafia Read. It had plot, suspense, drama, action and romance. Next one is sofiya and Dante but I’m more interested in Shibona. A must mafia series for mafia lovers.

this was actually so good🤭 i was a bit hesitant at first cause towards the end of the first book we meet the mmc of this book for the first time and tbh he doesn't really seem redeemable😭 is he redeemable now after i finished his book? i can't really tell cause some stuff he did was badddd but i still loved him & the fmc together🫣 they just fit so perfectly and are def not your typical main characters like we see in other mafia books- maybe that was one of the reasons why i loved it sm🤷🏼♀️ as for the fmc- she too did some questionable stuff but i still liked her somehow...
Mario is out for vengeance after being exiled from his family. He partners with his brothers enemies to take them down. Elena is not the sweetheart everyone thinks she is, tired of being underestimated she betrays those close to her. She teams up with Mario, using Anthony Calabrese to get intel.
The pair have such chemistry, she is not the pawn everyone thinks she is, she is meant to be Mario's queen. Both characters are morally grey. It is best to read Silent Vows for this one.

This is a story of revenge, danger, betrayal and romance. The main male character is the morally gray villain, and this is his love story. Mario has been disowned by his family and cast out. Elena has been secretly working for Mario all the while knowing she is betraying her best friend. Can these two find love and find their happy ending before it all falls apart?.

Wow! If you enjoy sexy mafia characters then this is your story. I enjoyed how the author wrote each chapter in the point of view of Elena and Mario. It was a mixer of hot and sweet scenes. Both characters are tough and focused. It was beautiful how they both discovered their feelings for each other and how their loyalty runs to each other /family. I recommend this book to everyone who loves hot and sweet Mafia stories.

Forbidden Vengeance is an amazing dark mafia romance book that I absolutely loved reading by AJME. I was hooked right from the start up to the very end just because of the steam and the chemistry Mario and Elena have together. AJME is going to have that pretty orange banner across the title of this book very soon saying BEST SELLER you just watch.
She is ambitious and when she connects with Mario the pair is unstoppable. Mario is out for revenge will he achieve his goals with Elena and get the happiness they deserve. Mario and Elena's story is a great one filled with many faucets that kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

Games can be played, lives can be lost, & children can be born. Elena was just an exclusive event planner who decided to play games with 3 different mafias. Can the Italian & Irish finally make peace with modernized methods? You will need to read to find out. It's a great book with action, sex & women in power around every page.
Elena isn’t the good girl she appears to be. He intends to make her his even if it starts a war. She is using her job as an event planner as a cover for her getting information of other mafia families. What will happen when they combine their resources?.
