The writing was excellent. It read like a polished novel. Also, Harry and Snape were very in character. At the moment, I have so many good thoughts flying through my head in regards to this story that I can't think of how to say anything much at all. It made me frustrated, sad, happy, teary, amused, horrified, embarrassed...ran the gamut really.

I believe this is a character study of Harry and Severus, while they navigate difficult circumstances. Having to bond without even liking each other, it was a true enemies to lovers story, only they don’t seem to be lovers yet.
By invoking the Podentes ritual, Harry became Severus’ slave. This part of the fic deals with the build up to the ritual, it was long but excellent, it reads like a full published novel.
I’m scared to read the second part because I know there will be struggle.

This was really good in many ways. A bit long winded and a bit too much filler at times but a great character-driven story. I could not to what Harry does in this. Nope. Could not even attempt this prophecy. I fully get why he is so frustrated through the whole thing. On the other hand Severus' character amazed me. He starts off all nasty toward Harry but as things progress, he changes. And the things he does...things Harry never even realizes.. are just so sweet. And yet he is only human and also does some stupid things too. Lots of angst, hurt and misunderstanding. THis was a long fic but I just could not put my phone down from reading this.

Characters are very much like the book ones, though we do see the change as time passes as they get to know each other in a different aspect and not only as a student and a teacher. A bit darker topic and a bit more explicit read, but all in all, recommended to all Harry/Severus fans.

This is the first HP fanfic I've ever read and I read it after marathoning the HP books so at first the difference in language and style was a bit jarring but there were many times where I thought "Yes, that's exactly something that character would do!". I went into this with very little expectations and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it!
