Never mistake for a path that which is a river. Joseph Mason is a mediocre private eye who has just taken a new case. Charged with observing a man suffering from black-outs, it's up to Joseph to find out what is happening during these lapses of memory. To both his detriment and benefit, the wayward detective disconnects from the real world at times, finding himself in a netherworld that exists in between minds. There he is able to see the things his charge is doing. Things he has missed with his real eyes. Horrific things. He's not alone in those spaces between minds, and while there are some that will help him, there is one that will stop at nothing to push a dangerous man's psychosis to its full potential. As his charge becomes more menacing and unstable, Joseph's once-calm life drifts apart. His ambitious wife is reaching for a future he's not worthy of, his ex-girlfriend is back in town and sharing far too much in common with him, and the mother he has neglected has become suddenly ill. Above all, he must deal with the threat of a bloodthirsty and driven foe who sees him as the next target in a life-long crusade for vengeance. CROSSFADE is part detective thriller, part science fiction, and all parts the journey of a lost soul who has to fight to reconnect with the world and those he loves.
