I was lucky enough to help beta read Tug and I can tell you that KJ Bell blew my mind with this book! I was a Brady girl but I have to admit I'm loving me some Tug...Mmmmm Aidan <3
I loved young Tug when I was first introduced to him in Irreparably Broken. He was fun and witty but, he was just a boy. In Irreversible Damage, he became more of a man as I felt his desperation as he tried to hang on to the woman he loved. Well, HOT DAMN KJ Bell...Tug grew into one hell of a man...A HOT MAN!
Still tormented by his past, he finds himself in a situation he didn't think possible... he's falling for a woman he had no intention of falling for but will the ghosts of his past or his man-whoring ways get in the way of his happiness?
Maria's story is one that the reader won't fully comprehend until...BANG... it hits them! She's a brilliant character! But will you love her or hate her ;-)
Tug is definitely a HOT read. For those of you looking for a book with some clenching sexy time...this is the book. What is it about balloon rides...WOWZA!
Now if you are one of those reader that hates a cliffhanger, and for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would hate a cliffhanger, consider yourself warned because the end of Tug will leave you shouting, "What the EFF did I just read!!!!!" IT WAS AWESOME!
Looking for a angsty, HOT read that will suck you in and raise your blood pressure...One that will have you constantly turning the pages because you need to know where this fabulous author has taken the story? You need to one-click Tug and see what all the talk is about!
Tug is amazing and so is his story!! book #2 can't get here fast enough!!! Tug and Maria's relationship is all kinds of fcked up but what an amazing couple they make!! the "cliffhanger" at the end is sooooo not fair!!! i need more TUG!!!
I loved this book. Aidan totally had me from the very start. The boy was damaged big time and those are the ones that end up being the diamonds in the rough. And so when Aidan meets Maria, we see the true spirit of Aidan emerge. Yes he was a douche at times (most men are) but the way he jumped head first into his relationship with Maria and Javiar, just made me swoon.
Now Maria.(dramatic pause) Maria, Maria, Maria!!! She is one of those that you have a love/hate relationship with. Just so you know this book ends in quite the cliffhanger and it may be damaging to your kindle (just in case you like to throw things) or if there are small children around, before you read the last few pages, you may want to escort them to another room - profanity may come spewing out of your mouth. Maria is a mystery to me...and now I have to wait to see if I am right about her until the next book!
This is an angst filled roller coaster that will take you on a tour of emotions. My head and heart could only take so much. In the end, it left me wanting more, which is just what a good book should do.
KJ Bell is an amazingly gifted author. And if you ever meet her, don't be fooled by her sunny, happy disposition... she really loves to send her readers through the ringer. And we LOVE her for it. LOL 4.5 Stars
Wow. 5 stars is not enough to rate this book. My emotions were all over the place! I wanted to slap, kiss, slap again, and hug Tug like crazy. That man, he made me all kinds of emotional.
This was my first read from K.J. Bell and it will not be my last! I was addicted to this book just by the cover! When a cover has you breathing into a brown paper bag you hope it's not just for show. Let me tell you the author did not disappoint!
You will want to 1-Click this Bad Boy quick so he can win over your heart and thoughts like he did mine!
Oh Tug, He's so good and so kind hearted but he can also be so dumb. I could slap him for what he put Maria through, he filled her glass and it finally spilled. I'm so waiting for book 2. I love him but although I want them to be happy, I kinda hope Maria gets him a taste of his own medicine. PS. I didn't read the previous series where Tug and the rest get introduced but I didn't need to, you get explained throughout the book what happened and what comes of it. This is my first read from KJ and I give it 5 stars.
People have to find their way on their own as I did, and as my family allowed me to do. But it hurts so goddamn much.
We all know how unfair life can be what a bitch fate can be. Take Aidan aka Tug. He is struggling to move on from the whole Tori fiasco. You remember Tori, his best friend and also his brother Brady’s fiancé. Yeah, he is dealing or not dealing with that situation the way any other genius would you know good ol’ Jack, Jim and Jose. He is drowning his sorrows away along with his other brain with women whom he can’t remember their names. When his wild ways start to affect his company’s reputation, he does what he knows best.. He fakes it.
The only woman I ever loved is marrying my brother next week. They're having a baby together. A baby I once thought was mine. My heart is irreparably broken, and knowing this chick's name won't fix it.
Enter Maria.. She is beautiful, smart and is struggling to balance being a single mother, finishing up college and taking care of her sick grandfather. She does what she has to do to make ends meet and to make a good life for her and her son. She is also harboring a dangerous past. One she hopes to be able to move on from forever.
A chance meeting at a cigar shop brings these two broken souls together. Let’s just say Tug leaves her a first impression she will never forget. *insertTug’sassholeryhere*
Remember what I said about life or fate? Well fate can have a sick sense of humor but in the end, the path you are put on happens for a reason. Tug and Maria are face to face again, but this time Tug has a plan and that plan involves her and him with no clothes, catching my drift? Well... one wild night with Maria changes everything for the both of them *insertcrazyhotchemistry* Tug wants to show Maria the life she deserves, the love she deserves and Maria never wants to see him again.
This kiss is reassurance, a commitment to try, an emotional kiss with a promise she won't run. Or I'm blinded with desire and it means nothing; either way, there's no going back. As I push inside her, I choose to believe we're two flawed people who found each other at just the right time in our lives.
The thing between Maria and Tug blossoms into so much more than they were expecting. Things are going well for them. They are happier than they have ever been but, go’ol fate loves to challenge people and man does she put on the ultimate challenge for Tug and Maria. Their pasts come back to bite them in the a$$ and their relationship starts to get bumpy. *insertcrazyemotionalrollercoasterridehere*
Just when Tug has found happiness, in the blink of an eye his life is once again turned upside down.
"Wishing you could take it back, and not meaning to do it, are two different things. You meant for it to happened exactly as it did. You just didn't get the results you'd hoped for."
I feel in love with Tug in Irreparably Broken and Irreversible Damage. Although those books were more about Tori and Brady, it is when we met Tug and he had such a profound role in both books. I was so happy to see he finally got his story. His character is fun, sexy, witty, brilliant, cocky with a side of a$$hole. What I love about him the most is how big his heart is and the lengths he will go to for the ones he loves and he is a survivor.
Maria is a great new character. Right now my feelings for her are... hmmm let’s just say, she is a bitch I like to hate. She is street smart, beautiful, loving and kind and she is also a survivor.
Together they make a beautiful couple. Both learning to trust again, to move forward toward the future. Most importantly to learn from the past and let it go. At least that is what they try to do.
K.J Bell has done it again. Her characters are fantastic and hook you in an instant. The emotions you feel while reading the story. WHOLLY HECK! I am serious. I can’t even tell you how many freaking F-bombs I dropped. First your happy, then sad, then pissed, then emotional, then excited, the pissed, then angry, high on love then down right murderous.
I am not going to lie. This ends in a cliffhanger that will literally leave you thinking- WHAT THE FREAK ( F-bomb) You will want to kick some a$$, hunt the author down to demand WHY? Then as it settles and I think about it more, all that comes to mind is What the phuck, phuckity, phucking kind of phuckery just happened?
I highly recommend this read. It is torturous in the most FANTASTIC way. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
A phucking fantastic job done by KJ Bell. I LOVED it!
I won’t lie, when I first finished Tug, my initial response was “I don’t even know if I can review this book.” I even told one of my blog partners I wasn’t sure what I could say and I had no idea what rating to give this book. But, I always sleep on a book before I review. I let it sink in while I think about the ups and the downs. And for the first time, my initial reaction changed.
My knee-jerk rating when I finished the book was somewhere between a 3.5-4. Not because the book wasn’t good because honestly, the book is amazing. But the ending had me reeling. My mind was running through all the different turns the next book could take and I was left with an uncomfortable feeling. But it’s been two days and I can’t stop thinking about the characters. I can’t stop imagining where the author is planning to take us in the next book. And that tells me the author did her job and she did it well.
**From here on out, this review may contain spoilers for the first two books but not for Tug.
I have read Irreparably Broken and Irreversible Damage and I’d fallen in love with Tug from the very beginning. Tug was the sweet younger brother who was head over heels for his older sisters best friend, Tori. I will be honest again and say that from the moment Tori first agreed to date Tug after fighting with Tug’s older brother, Brady, I lost all respect for her. To me, coming between brothers is inexcusable. It was not, however, enough to make me stop reading because I enjoyed the plot and the writing. I continued on to the second book, which included more of Tug and even more of him being strung along by Tori. In this book, Tug was a big part of the reason I continued reading. I worried about him and I wanted to comfort him.
When I heard that KJ was writing Tug’s book, I was ecstatic! This is EXACTLY what I wanted! I wanted inside his head. I wanted to see him finally get his HEA because that’s what this poor guy deserves. He’s had to stand back and watch his brother, of all people, get the girl who owns his heart.
And KJ, girl, you delivered.
“Caring about someone causes trouble.”
Tug is a powerful book about the love and importance of family and the healing that can only come when you finally open yourself up and allow yourself to be vulnerable.
“The heart decides with a perseverance greater than human strength. The only problem with that is both my and Brady’s hearts chose the same girl, and mine is left with a gaping hole.”
We get to watch, in a rotating dual POV, as two very different people on two very different paths in life figure out that our lives lead us to a certain person for a reason. It’s amazing to see how Maria and Tug slowly begin to let each other in and allow themselves to find comfort in the building relationship between them.
Did Tug make mistakes? Absolutely. Did I get angry at him? Without a doubt. But, I understood him.
I won’t blow the ending, I refuse to be that girl, but I was left staring at my iPad before I flipped back and reread the last few pages. I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t.
But you can bet your ass I’ll be waiting for Tug #2!
Loved this book! It was everything I expected and more. I. Love. Tug. Hard. I had waited for TUG’s story for a long time, and when I heard he was getting his own series, I was ecstatic. I fell in love with this beautiful man way back in Irreparably Broken. You do not need to read Irreparably Broken or Irreversible Damage before you read this book. But, if you do, you will get a little more background on Aidan Hunter – aka Tug. And you will see a little clearer why he is the cocky, womanizing, smart ass that he is in this book. He is that character that you just can't help but fall in love with. And why is that? Because of author KJ Bell, of course! She has the talent of creating strong characters that you get easily attached to and care about. I finished a while ago and I am STILL thinking about that man.
And how about the heroine of the book – Maria Santiago – what a perfect match for Tug. She’s beautiful & smart, and has just the right amount of feistiness to go head-to-head with Tug. Although there were moments where you would like to wring her neck, you can’t help but love this character, especially when we see the love she has for her son, Javier, and her ailing grandfather.
I told Ms. Bell before I started reading Tug that I had a good feeling she was going to knock it out of the park with this one. I don’t mean to brag, but I was right. Tug deservingly got his own series, and all of us Tug-Lovers are forever grateful.
So many things I loved about this book: the writing, the characters, the humor, the lust, the angst, the love. This book will have you feeling every emotion possible; I laughed, I cried, I had to stop and count to ten multiple times because I was so angry. With the superb writing and the amazing characters, you will be sucked in from the beginning and won't want to stop until you're finished. And then you're going to be begging Ms. Bell for book 2 - trust me. Warning: the ending will have you cussing like a sailor, possibly throwing your e-reader, and/or stabbing pins into your KJ Bell voodoo doll.
I highly recommend this to readers who love a well-written, angst-filled story with amazing characters and steamy love scenes! I am impatiently waiting for book 2!
First let me tell you if you have not read Irreparably Broken and Irreversible Damage (also by K.J. Bell), read them first. I started Tug before knowing it was a “spin off” book of the other two and I WAS LOST! After correcting my mistake, the back story was clear and I understood the character of Tug much better.
Tug has lost the only woman he has ever loved to his older brother and has a VERY hard time dealing with that fact. That, and other events in the past books, have compounded into some major problems for all the characters. They all seem to have a rubber band effect on each other; pulling away and being snapped back, to help each other heal, and process the lies they have been fed their entire lives.
Through this book, you see Tug go from a self-centered, self-destructive, conceited, jack a*s, to a man conflicted with what and who he truly wants in his life. You feel his struggles, want to love him, want to strangle him, and want watch him grow as a person. Once he knows what he wants he grabs onto it, and does not let go easily.
He meets Maria early in the book, and she is NOT what I expected at all! She is a spitfire who takes sh*t from no one while at the same time throws everything she has at those she loves. I fell in love with her personality right from the start. Her character also does a lot of growing and she end up a much more confident person in the relationship, until Tugs loyalty to her is shown to be undecided.
The end of this book ends in a cliffhanger. I just pray my fingers are strong enough to help me hold on until the next book. I will be impatiently waiting!! ~ Devlynn, 5 stars
When I started reading, I kept feeling like I was missing something. It seemed like there was a story that the author thought I already knew. The description didn't hint that Tug was a character from another book, but after reading the book descriptions from K.J. Bell's Irreparable series (books I haven't read), I realized that he played a fairly major role there. Knowing that he was the one to get slighted in a love triangle made Tug infinitely more interesting to me and reading Tug's story made me glad that Tori didn't pick him (I came to dislike her in this book).
Naturally, Tug was a bit rough around the edges at the beginning of this book. He had just lost the woman he loved to his brother and had to be the best man at their wedding. I'd be a jerk too. But he grew up a lot over the course of this story. I loved watching him with Maria and her son, Javier!
Maria was a bit of a spitfire. She was strong, considering her less than ideal situation of solely caring for her young son and her grandfather who was suffering from dementia. I thought that Maria and Tug were great together and you could see (since the book was told from dual points-of-view) that their feelings were genuine.
I will say, however, that I don't accept the ending as being what it presented itself as. I think there's more to the story, especially since there are plans for a sequel. I will definitely be adding that to my TBR list!
Do spiders have eight legs? Does water turn to ice in the freezer? Have I ever been lost? I'm still lost.
I love you KJ Bell. Truly. I love you for giving me "Tug." I love you for understanding that he needed his story told and it needed to be his.
Everything written by KJ makes me giddy. There is just enough angst to give me the drama I crave, balanced out with the perfect amount of romance and tenderness that I need. Each character within the story has their own obstacle to overcome and a large amount of growing as a person needed. Her characters are younger but with the experiences they have had, they have had to grow up quicker than necessary.
What more can I say, I frickin' love this book!!! Oh how this book pulled at my heart. Definitely recommending to all my friends! OMG and the ending.... I want book 2 now!! lol (hope we don't have to wait very long). Thank you Ms Bell for an awesome read!! Also, let me mention as I read I felt part of the story was missing. So after I finished reading I looked up descriptions of other books she written and found the Irreparable series (Tug is part of that story) will answer a lot of the questions I was asking myself. I'm going to start that series now and would suggest reading them first. It'll cause less confusion while reading Tug. Happy Reading!!!
I will say this….I thought this book was pretty predictable. and then i was ever soooo wrong.this book had me so shaking my head and it all comes together. and i was not happy about some of these action of theses people. sorry Tori loved you in the others but not digging you here. but im sure I will change my mind in the next book....BUT the ending F-me up !!!!! Then the story all came together for me and i was floored. I love me some TUG. It was a great book and i can not wait for the next
Holy Tugboat! What an ending! I feel like I just got "hustled"! I read the last few pages several times to come myself down and cannot wait for Tug #2.
Tug will make you want to hump his leg, strip him down, beat his face in, swoon in an air balloon, then start all over again. Be prepared for more family drama with lots of relationship issues within all the couples and lots of unexpected twists that will pull at your heart strings. Addicted to this series and need more!
I so did not expect a cliff hangar, darn! Good read, kinda sick of Tori not being able to decide who she wants to be with, not sure if it's necessary for the story line, except playing Tug's heart all the time, he finally got his sh*t together and then she plays with him, need the next book, need to know what happens with Maria!!! Just finished this for the 2nd time and I still agree that I don't like Tori that much!
Ok... Review time. I loved this book. You see Tug grow so much from the beginning to the end. He learns a lot about himself, love and what caring about someone truly means. Maria has faced so much in her life. It is so nice to see her supported and protected by a good man. The ending is what has me in shock. That is all I will say about it. Expletives were texted to my best book buddy because I was not expecting the book to end the way it did. Worth the read.
When I started reading this book I wasn't sure what to expect but this book was different in a very good way... I love Tug he did some stupid things and the cliffhanger at the end I am anxious for Tug # 2 to come I really want to see what happens with Tug and Maria... I also want to know what is going to happen with Liv because I want to see if she leaves Harrison and goes with Gabe I think they are better for each other... does anyone know when Tug # 2 is coming out?
Loved this book! After the last one I wasn't sure how I felt about Tug. He's had a tough time and things just don't seem to want to work out for him. In this book he is really trying to be a better man and made me fall in love with him all over again. Will this guy ever catch a break? This story takes you on a roller coaster ride and you won't believe where you end up! Can't wait for Tug 2.
Holy cliffhanger!!!! I can't wait to read what happens next. I have to say I love Tug! I really liked Maria and her attitude. I loved Tori in book 1 & 2 but I was kinda hatin on her in this one! Please hurry with the next book!
DAMN IT!!!I want more. This book was awesome & Im going to be climbing the walls until the next book comes out.k.j bell u need to hurry!! the waiting is killing me.
