This is not my typical reading choice, but I thought I would give it a try. What's the worst that could happen? I lose $0.99 and a little bit of my time?

Here's what I didn't like:
-the story needs a small amount of editing. I have seen far worse in popular books (can we say Twilight or Pure Murder, anyone?), but I did find a few, small errors that were a speed bump for me: a confusing phrase/sentence; "passed" instead of "past"; and a few other very minor ones, but those things do affect the reading experience for me.
-some names are unusual, and that makes trying to pronounce them in my head (and keeping the characters straight throughout the story) a bit of a struggle. This is certainly par for the genre, so my own inexperience with it should be taken into consideration.
-the story jumped around a bit abruptly in a couple of spot, leaving me wondering about what was going on. But, to be fair, the story covers a lot of ground in a short space, so it's to be expected. The author could add a lot more meat, with very little more plot, and have an excellent story!
-there are a lot of people to meet in a short time, and they aren't developed enough. See above note.
-the ending left you hanging BIG TIME! If this was from an established author and this was a teaser to a soon-to-be-released novel I would be excited! Since this is not the case, I am left with a bit of resentment. I feel like someone has just told me about a wonderful cake they made, but didn't bring any to share! I need to know what is happening in this story before I go crazy!

Here's what I did like:
-the story is clearly incredibly compelling. I was hooked very, very early.
-the imagery was better than I expected. If the author could do as much as he did this quickly, I would love to see what could be done with a full-sized novel!
-the story is very inventive and original. it's not like anything else I have read, and I think I may have found a new genre I will enjoy.

Mr. Finlay, we need more of this story as soon as possible. As in: TOMORROW.!

Buy this and read it. It's worth the time and money for sure.

The Phusen Noix is a gripping introduction to Nalabec. A place where girls give their intended the key to their heart and a riddle to finding the chest where it is hidden, and darkness is taking hold in their world. Gerard The Mark of Monoah, is the wearer of a pendant with a shard from a Phusen Noix egg. This shard allows him to see the light and communicate with the Master of the Light Arthsola. With the announcement that a young man has taken on a quest to find the heart of his love Gerard begins preparations along with the families for the wedding and naming that will take place upon the young mans return. When jealousy from the past set upon Gerald and his wife darkness will enter their world and take hold. Though a little slow in some spots a fascinating start to a new world that will leaving you anxious for the next installment. N.A. Finlay is a author to watch.

I thought this was very good. Normally, I am not into this genre, but it was well written. My only pet peeve are a few gramatical errors, but those can be fixed easily

This story was strangely interesting. It was innovative and different, and VERY original, which is something I miss in the works of many bestselling writers.

Amazing!

I loved it! It was such a quick read that I was sad when it was over. I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the story and find out what happens.

That's all I wanted to know when I was done reading this book; "Wait! What happens next?!" You should read Phusen Noix. The story keeps you wanting to figure out more, and thus keeps you reading. I had a hard time putting it away and finished the whole thing in 2-3 days. Without telling you too much, there's a concept in there that involves women and keys and hearts that is very well thought through and makes one ponder on love and romance. This concept is probably my favorite part and makes the book stand out from others. You should read it and see what you think.
