I will say you might enjoy this book more if you have read the other books. I have loved this series so far so it will be no hardship for you to read the other books...you will love them too I think.
This book shows us how Alexandr and Jessica meet and some of the earlier things that happened. This also lets us into some of the previous leading men's life. This is a hot, emotional and round great roller coaster ride type of book I love.

NOT SAFE!!!
Ugh!!! Another blind read that I regret! This was so not my thing. At. All.
The H is a huge effin man whore. The h is easily malleable and falls seamlessly into the BDSM lifestyle without any reservations when it comes to sharing.
Just an FYI, for me, there is nothing romantic about claiming to love some one and being A-Okay to kiss, touch and have sex with others. Again this is my reading preference, and I wish the blurb would have warned of the sharing and orgies/multi-partner scenes.
Then there is the cliff hanger ending. The h has gone into hiding because her unborn child and the H are targeted for murder, the H thinks she died and they haven't seen each other for five years. Five years in which the h has been celibate while the man whore H has numerous ONS and mistresses. I get that this sharing fetish was mutual when they were together but the h only shared him with women she trusted weren't emotional competition (as nuts as that may sound it made sense...kind of) so I hated knowing that the H claims to love his h even in death but still fucks around??? He talks about just wanting to reunite with his h in death and how he always felt her watching over him, so how could he think screwing anything that walked was honoring the love of his life???? It just made no sense to me.
I need a devoted and faithful H and Alex was not it. I have no interest in reading the second part to this mess. I can guess that the h is going to forgive him for screwing around and I'll end up hating her for her spinelessness so I'm gonna cut my losses here.
It'll be a while before I try anything like this -so far outside my comfort zone- for now, I'll stick to my fluff romance and safe (no cheating) erotica.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Ann Mayburn is an evil genius. She is able to weave a story that gets inside you head and your heart, and it will hold you hostage until you reach the end. This book is no different. I literally read it in just under 7 hours straight through. Just a small lunch break was taken. I really couldn’t put my Alex down; even knowing I would be sad in the end. If you have read the first two books in this series, you know why that is. If you haven’t read the first two, go back and do it. You will thank me for introducing you to those hot Russian men. Alex is my absolute favorite of them though. There has been something about him that has called to a deep part of me since he walked on to the pages of Ivan’s book. After reading this book, I love him even more. It really is like Ann took my Dom wish list I write to Santa every year, and brought him to life.
Jessica has always been this tragic figure. We didn’t know much about her, but LAWD is she perfect. She is just the right amount of spunky that keeps Alex on his Dom-ly toes. She has an Irish temper that she doesn’t always keep hold of, She is kinky as all hell, but she looks like as innocent as a school girl. I love her interactions with not only Alex, but also the people in his world.
Getting this look at Alex from before just really steals your heart. He is so cold and sadistic in the first two books, but in this one his is warm and nurturing. I loved seeing this Alex. He is an amazing character. That will wrap you around his little finger too. We get to see all of our sexy Russians, we know and love, years before they got their HEAs, and get to see an even darker side to the Russian Bratva (Russian Mafia). Also this book makes you hate Alex & Dimitri’s father even more than we did before. Honestly, I’d love nothing better than to shank that bastard.
I can’t recommend this book or series more if I tried. It is one of my go to recommendations to people. You can never go wrong with an Ann Mayburn book. They are huge bits of greatness!!! You will not want to miss out on this book!! Even though I was expecting to go through a whole box of Kleenex, I devoured it like my favorite candy. (I didn’t cry as much as I thought I would, or want to hunt Ann down. I did need a big hug though.) Hope y’all enjoy it as much as I have!!!

Ann Mayburn you knocked my socks off with this one love! I cannot even express with words how much I absolutely love Alexandr and Jessica's story and its not even over!
Let me start by saying this story is incredibly intense, very hardcore Russian Bratva (aka Mafia) with ties to other major criminal organizations. The story line for this book was stunning the intricate details that were woven in from the language spoken to the small intimate touches and looks that are shared between Alexandr and Jessica there really are no words to express how impressive the story line was.
Jessica has suffered some major losses in her life her birth mother died when she was small her birth father had already left and then he passed away. Not long after her birth mothers passing she was adopted by an adoring couple that loved her and raised her but when they died she was lost and unsure of what to do. Jessica was contacted by her Uncle Peter her birth mothers brother and brought to Ireland to stay and get to know her family it is here she is placed under the protection of Alexandr Novikov to ensure her safety. Jessica strikes up a friendship with Alexandr and his bodyguards but when she tries to take it further she is repeatedly shut down even though she is quite aware of Alexandr being a womanizer. Alexandr tries to fight his attraction to Jessica but soon realizes he is unable to stay away from her the only problem he is the son of a major crime lord the lead of the Russian Mafia well one section of it anyway.
Jessica and Alexandr have a relationship that is so full of action, suspense, drama and some majorly explosive chemistry that this book is virtually impossible to put down. I mean it was incredibly kinky, sexy, steamy, and I'm positive i was blushing a few times! This book takes you on some major emotional highs and lows and it leaves you hanging at the end and I am on pins and needles because I really cannot wait to know what happens next in the conclusion of Jessica and Alexandr's story! If you haven't added it to your TBR list go for it you won't want to miss this story!

Loved it!
I loved this book. It was a perfect blend of romance, love and kink..
Alexandr and Jessica had a love that was unbreakable. He was so sweet to her . I couldn't stop reading.
They were perfectly matched in all aspects from the beginning to the end of the book. She let go of her inhibitions and let him take over.
I didn't want this book to end. I can't wait to read the rest of their love story.

I really like this at first, but now it is leading down a path that I am not going to tolerate. Yes lots of kink is in the future but there is going to be I love you but hey lets screw other people...again not my thing. I like a dominant guy, but Alex is going to get out of hand and it turns into the women are here for my use and have no other value.

This series has literally blown me away! Why haven't I found Ann Mayburn's books before now?!
If you're like me and you love your mafia books with a side of kink, then this series is definitely one to read and cherish. I have loved each and every character but it was the sadness behind Alex's story that called to me. We know he'd loved and lost, in the cruellest sense, but it's not until you read part 1 of his story in Alexandr's Cherished Submission that you fully appreciate the bond that he had with Jessica. I revelled in their story, especially the way Alex brought out Jessica's sexuality. Talk about unlocking the padlock, once he gave her a little of what she wanted she was all in, so to speak!
The writing, and especially the sex scenes, were extremely well written and despite being over the top, they weren't over the top! I didn't find myself skipping a since sex scene, which is unusual for me, especially when an author makes the story all about sex.
The background to this series is what particularly pulled me in. With a health dose of the Russian Mafia, I was always going to be done for and add the BDSM kink onto such a compelling storyline and this book became an instant success.
Thankfully, for me, part 2 of Alex and Jessica's story is ready to feast on and I'm not going to stop until I've finished it.

HOLY CRAP! I don’t even know if I can put into words how much I loved this book. I have read all the other books in the series and they are just as amazing. First off this is the first part of a two part story. Yeah it ends in a cliff hanger but it isn’t a horrible one where you are just so ticked off because you are left hanging. Jessica and Alexandr’s story is filled with so much emotion and such a great story that you can’t help but not put it down. I tried to turn my kindle off so I could get some sleep and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it so I had to keep reading. I laughed, I cried, I screamed and I got seriously turned on a time or two. Jessica is a fiery gal who looks so sweet and innocent but she is freaky and I loved her. Alexandr is of course the perfect alpha male and with one look or one word you are just melting. Their journey is one I enjoyed reading even when my heart was ripped out and I was left feeling destroyed. I can’t wait to find out how it all turns out. This is an amazing series, one I will be sure to read again and again.

He doesn't ever lose focus but something about her is drawing him to her. She knows he's a player and is afraid of losing her heart. When she finally lets her heart lead her he becomes a different man.
I am so excited for the next part of this story. Alexandr's Cherished Submissive was sexy intense read. The steaminess kept me turning pages and the story line held me there. Great combination.

Let me just tell you, if you ar elooking for dominant Russian mafia men who will turn you on with their alpha male-ness, this series is what you are looking for. Alexandr's book is the third book but this can be read as a standalone from the previous two. However, this third book has a cliffhanger and continues through the fourth book. That means Alexandr actually gets two books.
I really liked listening to the audio book. The narrators did a wonderful job. They really captured the steam and dynamics of the book. I wanted to rate this higher, except that there were somethings I was looking for in the story that didn't quite get there. Maybe it's the fact that the story isn't finished yet and this felt like a prelude to the realy story. However, for a prelude, it was pretty much a long one.
I am excited for the continuation because I am sure that that is where things will be explosive. The previous books in this series were really hot and exciting, so with this third book seeming to be withholding excitement, I feel that the payoff will be in the sequel, and I can't wait for it.

I picked this up because the few books I've read from Ann Mayburn have achieved the elusive "sweet spot" where there is just the right amount of well developed story and smokin' hot sex. A lot of author's try to find this and very few succeed. I'm happy to say that ALEXANDR'S CHERISHED SUBMISSIVE is another example at this author's ability to do just that.
I won't go into the summary because the blurb given on the book page does it much more justice than I could. This is the third book in the Submissive's wish series, and the author advises that you read books one and two before reading this one. I didn't, and I felt that this worked as a standalone fine. I do want to go back and read books one and two though.

I won't go into the summary because the blurb given on the book page does it much more justice than I could. This is the third book in the Submissive's wish series, and the author advises that you read books one and two before reading this one. I didn't, and I felt that this worked as a standalone fine. I do want to go back and read books one and two though.

I thoroughly enjoyed the previous two books in the series - who can fail to be captivated by the strength and depth of feelings that these tough, rough Alpha males exude? Alex is definitely no exception - and Jessica is his perfect foil.
This is a long, detailed and intense read, which takes its time to get to the heat, but then sears the pages with the dynamics of an amazing relationship. The lovely detail about the chess board, the way that Jess's innocence is protected yet explored. I really can recommend this as an excellent read ... the only downside is waiting for the second installment - which is promised for this autumn .... I hope you are busy writing Ms Mayburn!

This book moved way too slow for me and spent too much time on the whole Russian Mafia thing than on developing the relationship between Alex and Jessica. While I typically enjoy reading about kink, I had trouble with the idea that he loved her so much that he wanted her to sleep with other people. This book was a huge disappointment to me; I haven't decided if I want to read the next book in this series.

Once again Ann Mayburn has lit the fires of love, lust and submission with lots of pitfalls along the way. Having read the other Submissive's Wish books, I've seen the unhappy Alex and have wanted him to find some happiness.
This book takes us to the past and tells us the story behind the Alex we have seen.Alexandr meets Jessica while she is working at her Uncle Peter's Pub in Ireland. She has heard of his reputation with the ladies and has no desire to become a notch in his bedpost.
Alex never expected to be so attracted to someone and when Peter hires him and his crew to keep her safe, he is determined to keep his distance so he wouldn't break her heart.
Jessica, inspite of her protests, is attracted to Alex. She becomes friends with her bodyguards, teaching them English and telling them about her life before her parents died and she came to Ireland. Alex's repeated rebuffs get to her and she resigns herself to the fact that they would only be friends.
On the anniversary of the death of Alex's stepmother and step-sister. Dimitri is with him and meets Jessica for the first time when she brings over biscuits and gravy for dinner. They settled in to drink and exchange stories of sexual escapades which leads to a very interesting evening.
From this point you need to have a fan and plenty of fluids to keep you hydrated. I laughed and cried, my heart ached and my pulse raced, I even panted a bit, OK a lot!
The gradual build of the relationship and Alex introducing Jessica to BDSM was so damn erotic and sexy. We even get to see the other Russian Doms in this series as younger men, which was a bit weird having read the other books. It all comes together nicely though.
I was expecting this cliffhanger and trust me it doesn't hurt this series is complete.

After having read Ivan's Captive Submissive, I was very interested in the Submissive's Wish series. To give you a better understanding of this series, let me explain a few things. The series starts off with a contingent of Russian Masters and submissives are touring the United States learning about US BDSM while also enjoying a vacation like atmosphere. Ivan starts the series out by winning his lovely bride Gia at an auction. The second book is about Dimitri finding his lovely wife Rya, also through the auction, but we also come to know the darker side of Russian Mafia through Dimitri and his brother Alexandr.
Alexander's story starts off seven years in the past from these two stories. In reality you don't need to read these stories in order to understand Alex's love, but it does explain the way Alex acts in Dimitri's story.
In Alexandr's Cherished Submissive we meet Jessica Venture, a sweet American who has been found by her birth family in Ireland. Young at twenty, don't mistake Jessica for being innocent, this girl has some kinky fantasies along with the kink she has already experienced in her short life. But she is also really naive and innocent about the way of the world outside of the farm she grew up in with her adoptive family. Her uncle Peter has found her and brought her back to Dublin to learn about her heritage and work in his bar. Unbeknownst to her, Peter is the head of his own Irish mafia while also being a politician.
Alexandr Novikov is a hard man at a young age, but well older than Jessica. Man whore galore, he makes no promises, but leaves a trail of women he has bedded behind him. When Peter strikes up a deal with Alex's father, they can't refuse to offer protection the young Jessica. Luka, Mak, Oleg and more along with Alex shadow her every move and the hardened killers fall under the her spell as she offers friendship and laughter back into their lives.
Alex has been warned off bedding Jessica by Peter, but that doesn't stop him from falling hard, giving her looks and driving her libido crazy. In his mind she is his. She will eventually marry him. But he forgets to tell her that, leading her to believe they are just friends even if they both dream of each other each night.
The story moves forth as they fall in love, and learn more about each other. The kink is off the hook and beyond what I was expecting. There is F/F, M/F and while others may be involved, it never turns into a M/F/M situation. Mostly Alex is free with his love of watching his woman find pleasure and explore her boundaries.
All through this story though, Alex keeps secrets and goes on missions for his father. A father who is a monster and would even torture his own sons to get what he wants. Jessica knows there is much more to Alex that he will tell her, but she trusts him completely.
Now while the heat was extremely there, I got tired of one sex scene after another. I was kind of numb to it at times and wanted to see more of their life together outside of the bedroom. They fell into love extremely fast and nothing could seem to upset it except for the secrets Alexandr holds.
Oh and let me state this very clearly, I am not a female that likes when a man feels their women don't really have a thought in their heads and just wants them to fuck them, decorate their homes and raise their children. Don't get me wrong, if you want that type of life, then I don't judge. I just want these men to recognize their women aren't just play toys all the time. Life is harsh in Russia, I get that, but I just wanted to see them think about how they took over their women's lives so completely that I felt they lost the zest that made me like them in the first place.
The narrators of the story were awesome. Stephanie Wyles's voice sounded familiar, but I could find another book of hers that I had listened too. It's a sweetly feminine voice that was easy to understand. Edo De Angelis was rich and definitely alpha. He does wonderful accents and kept me entranced to listen more when I really had to put the audio book down. Together this team put together a wonderful story that at times must have been tough to voice.

The first half deals with them falling in love and starting their life. The second picks up after the seven years and some hard times that are briefly covered in the this book. It's hard not to give spoilers, but you have read Dimitri's Forbidden Submissive, you will understand why this was broken up into two books and where this one ends.
Deeply erotic, sometime really sad, this book covers so many emotions from love to hate. It's a tough read because you know what is coming and how Alex feels. All the characters from past books (Mak, Ivan, Dimitri, Nico, Catrin, Rya, Gia, etc.) all make appearances and you fall in love with them all again. A great addition to the series, but I am trying to figure out how this one pertains the the Submissive Wish Auction. But who cares, it's a great book!

Long drawn out story that was getting on my nerve towards the end.
The final few chapters felt abrupt, would help if there is some built-up of tension in the few chapters prior. The final chapters felt and red like a after thought, or a new addition, it didn't flow like the rest of the story.

This book takes us back to show how Alexandr & Jessica meet. It is important to read this series in order to understand the full story. Alexandr meets Jessica, who is tending bar in her uncle's pub in Ireland. Alexandr agrees to provide protection for Jessica. This story show how they meet, fall in love and what ultimately happens as described a bit in the 2nd book. I couldn't put this book down and, of course, had to immediately go into the next book to find out what happens. This story drew me in from the beginning as we are introduced to Alexandr in Dimitri's book. Loved it.

I loved how the characters were built up so well. It was a very novel story to me as I did not read the previous books in the series. That being said, I hated the audiobook because the accents sounded contrived and made thelistening process painful for me
