Just One Night #6

Just One Night, Part 6

Rate this book
NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR, ELLE CASEY, brings readers the conclusion to the 6-part contemporary romance serial novel, JUST ONE NIGHT.

[This book is PART 6. Readers should begin by reading PARTS 1-5 first. Part 6 is the last part of this serial novel.]

Jennifer gets the shock of a lifetime when an accident sends her to the hospital and she receives news she never expected to get. Her entire life is turned upside down, and she finds herself having to make some very hard and terrifying decisions. Life is spinning out of control, and the only time she feels like she can manage the insanity is when she's naked with William. That's not necessarily a bad thing as far as she's concerned, but it doesn't exactly solve her problems...

William is reminded that it's the best laid schemes that go awry when the news that his life has changed forever makes him reconsider everything he ever imagined for himself. Ingrid is digging her talons deeper and deeper into their lives, and Edward's as off the rails as ever. The problems in Scotland continue to plague the family business, and try as he might, William cannot remain separated from the drama for long.

This ebook is Part 6 of the serial romance novel, JUST ONE NIGHT, approximately 25,000 words or 125 paper pages long. The story concludes with this part.

Content warning: Due to sexy situations and content, this book is definitely not appropriate for younger readers.

A note from Elle about this series: Hello readers! I had such a great time writing this serial. Like you, I had no idea what was going to happen from one part to the next. I didn't even know how many parts there would be. It was great having all the feedback from my readers as each part was released; it definitely influenced the end result. Edward's story, JUST ONE WEEK, is coming soon in 2016. Add it to your Goodreads shelf today!

Just One Night, Part 6 by Elle Casey is the sixth and final book in the serial novella series, Just One Night. 5 Stars just doesn’t seem enough for this book or this series. There needs to be a rating for infinite stars. Yep, that’s what it deserves, an infinite star rating!!!

So much has happened, all leading William and Jennifer to this point. Jennifer wakes up and finds herself in the hospital. But when the doctor comes in to talk to her, it is not for the purpose they are expecting. The doctor’s conversation takes a whole different direction, which in turn, changes everything.

It's Tea Time!:

William and Jennifer love each other, although neither has openly admitted this fact yet. Their business is taking off and their personal relationship is blossoming. Now, though, they have some very important decisions that need to be made.

woman on man's lap:

The evil Ingrid has decided on a new tactic to cement herself into this family. And where Ingrid goes, nothing good ever follows. But do not fret, Ingrid’s evilness comes back on her in this installment.

Edward is forced to work at the family firm. They still have the ever present problem in Scotland. Try as he might, he can’t figure out what is wrong there so Edward is forced to go to Scotland and try to figure out what is going on. This trip, though, turns out to be very surprising indeed.

Rachel Meechum is her usual wonderful, crazy self. Gosh I love that woman. There is a simply perfect epilogue that wraps everything up with a giant bow. And also, a little bonus chapter which gives a little more explanation as to what happened in Scotland.

diamond ring in blue box:

I simply can’t say enough how much I have loved and enjoyed this series. William’s voice will forever be in my head. Because of this series I have developed a very unhealthy obsession with Hugh Grant. I see several of his movies in my near future. I have read that Ms. Casey is planning on a new serial novella series called Just One Week, due out next November. It will feature William’s brother, Edward and Jennifer’s best friend, Mia. I can’t wait. There is so much more to Edward than meets the eye and I am so excited to get his story. Thank you so much, Elle Casey, for entertaining me thoroughly with this series. I loved every single page of it.

4 That was sweet stars! :)

 photo justonenight6_zpsee1f16a9.jpg

Well that was sweet. It was a little bit predictable but it was sweet nonetheless. This last installment to the Just One Night series really had these two come full circle.

Jennifer and William really had no intention of going past just one night but fate (or maybe William’s mum) had different plans for them.

Starting part 6 we find William and Jennifer in the hospital after that nasty fight between Jennifer and Hank’s skank of a girlfriend. If that wasn’t enough for them to deal with they get yet another little surprise. :)

What follows is hodgepodge of things. There was a lot of sweetness coming from William and I loved it. He turned on his sexiness too (I was still hoping for a little more though)! A little light went off in Jennifer’s head, as she realized what she really wants with William. I found the two of them back to the way they were in book 2 & 3….sweet, funny and sexy.

We get a little of Ms. Meechum but not in her quirky usual way which kind of bummed me out. Mia wasn’t present all that much either. Edward though, we get more of him and I have to say he really shined for me in this one. And let’s not forget the bitch Ingrid. She finally gets what coming to her which was wonderful!!

I loved the epilogue too. I am such a sucker for epilogues and this one really suited William and Jennifer. We get more sweetness from both of them and I loved the last line…”Shut up and Kiss me, William”. “I hear and obey,” he says, lowering his lips to mine. ❤

To sum it up, I did enjoy this serial. But to be honest it did lose a little of its spark as we got to books 5 & 6. I enjoyed them but at the end I found myself wanting just a little bit more. I will miss Jennifer and William but I hope we get to see them in Mia and Edward’s story.

4--Just One Night--Stars!!!

"I’m ever so grateful that just one night was not enough for either of us.”

What a sweet conclusion to William and Jennifer's story!

Part 6 picks up where Part 5 left off. Jennifer is in the hospital afer the chick fight.

I can't say I love the direction the story went at this point.

Ingrid....

Still! You got what you deserved. Period.

Depsite the predictable path to the HEA, there was plenty of drama surrounding everyone....William, Jennifer, Edward, Rachel (aka Ms. Meechum), Frank, Ingrid.

Despite that, I enjoyed William and Jennifer's journey. From their just one night to their HEA.

“I am yin and you are yang,” I say. “Together we are in perfect harmony.”

I suspect we'll see more of Jennifer and William in Edward's story. I always liked Edward's story and would be happy if he ended up with Mia or Rachel. I just hope his story isn't told in the form of a serial!

It was never just one night!
The last installment to this serial did not disappoint! It really wrapped up everything beautifully and I loved how William and Jennifer finally got their much anticipated HEA. For such a short novella, this really packed a wallop. It starts where part 5 left off, with Jennifer in the hospital after that surprising cat fight with her ex's girlfriend. Soon her and William get yet another shock, which was a little predictable, but take it all in stride.

Ingrid, the bitch of the century, sure gets what was coming to her! And it was nice seeing Edward come through for the family and the company. But really, the sweetness comes from William and Jennifer. They were so cute, so genuine. Had they not gotten that shock, it wouldn't have made a difference how their story would have turned out. I think these two saw things in each other they only fantasized about--Jennifer--or never knew they needed--William.
We got a little of Ms. Meechum but not excessively so, though I'm sure she'll figure in Edward's story more. The epilogue was beautiful and finished this serial off wonderfully. Now it's Mia's and Edward's turn, but I hope it's not a serial, or if it is, then a predetermined number of installments would be great.

I'm going to miss William and Jennifer, but I have a feeling we haven't seen the end of those two. I'm also glad this series didn't get drawn out and ringed out, milking every and any storyline whether good or bad. It progressed realistically and genuinely, gave us a naughty British hottie, some hilarious moments and minor drama, what's not to love? Bye William! Muah!

In the conclusion to the series, we open with Jennifer waking in a hospital room after an altercation with the crazy current girlfriend of her ex.

Jennifer and William get some pretty interesting news.
Didn't really see that coming.

 photo c9c237dc8513d3c62ec047d0ee6e8712_zps3fc182d0.jpg

Ingrid is engaged to William and Edward's father and the two brothers are not on board with this new relationship.

William and Jennifer are building their new business together and also moving into their new home as well.

Again this one lacked the steam that I loved from the first few books.
I loved some of the banter between William and the others but overall, this one was an "OK" read for me.
It started off wonderful and then just fizzled out in the last two installments.

I loved the ending but just felt that this one was missing something.

Title: Just One Night, part 6
Series: Yes
Author: Elle Casey
Release Date: 27th June, 2014
Rating: 4 "Is this a British thing?" Stars
Cliffhanger: No
HEA:

Boy, O Boy! We got there in the end! This part of William and Jennifer's journey was filled with some surprises and some not-so surprises!

Quite a few significant and dramatic events happen in this part and for a second I didn't know which way it was going to go but add in the humour and espionage and "...all will be right in the world."

I laughed a lot, swooned some and gloated happily when Ingrid finally got hers!

William and Jennifer are incredibly sweet together and I love how quirky and almost cheesy they are. They compliment each other nicely and are partners in every sense of the word.

They may have failed in their "Just one Night" proposal but they definitely sealed the deal as one of my favourite couples.

Such a great ending to this little series. After everything that William and Jennifer have been through, and they went through a lot in this book, I was very pleased that they finally got their happy ending.

Ingrid is still a gold digging skank and I'm so happy she got what she deserved. Edward stood up and took a bullet for the family (yuck), but I think he saved them all. I can't wait for Edward's story to come out. I'm sure Mia is going to give him a run for his money.

It's the end but not really. Now we're all set up to want to know more about William's brother - Edward's story.

This books starts off with a WTF? then it was sweet and then it was WTF? again and then it was the wrap up. I love the way Elle Casey wrote William's character and all his nuances. Some of his inner thoughts were sweet and some were funny and I love that Elle Casey let us in on those.

I did think the wrap up would be...I don't know...more - I guess. I mean everything was there but it just fell a little flat in some places but I'm not too disappointed though. I guess it was more predictably sweet than the over the top ending I was hoping for but sweet nonetheless.

I will definitely be reading Edward's story when it comes out.

The one good thing I did do for myself was stop after Part 3 and wait for the series to end so I can do one continuous read. It went fast from there and I like reading that way better than a start then stop over and over.

Overall the series was enjoyable for me and I continue to admire Elle Casey and I'm left loving William and his sexy/goofy self and hope to hear more about them in Edward's story.

I really enjoyed these characters, as much as I enjoy them...the serial novella, yeah not so much. I think a lot of the story gets lost in these small installments, the depth of the characters as well as the story, can never reach their full potential. I'm intrigued by Edward and Mia, but I'm not certain if I'm up for another round.

I hate to give the last part of this story such a low rating, but actually I was expecting it.

It took me about half an hour to read it, after the first chapter I knew I didn't want to keep reading it so I went fast and sometimes I even skipped parts, something I rarely do and I really hate.

It got so boring that I wasn't sure that I could finish. The author filled the story with uninteresing parts, most of the things didn't make sense, and I was so eager to end with this agony that I didn't even pay attention to the sex.

It was THAT terrrible to me. I was hoping that we could get a decent ending, but most of the time it looked like we were in a soap opera. In a bad attemp to add drama to the story, the author got things far away from the main characters, who by the way, they were nothing like the ones we met at the start of this series, and not in a good way. It lacked of development.

The thing that annoyed me the most, is that huge cliché that I was afraid it was bound to happen .

I'm sorry but I'm so dissapointed with this ending and the story in general. Total waste of time except for those two parts where I thought we were getting somewhere.

*This 'tis be a review for the completed serial. I'm too lazy to review them all separately. 3.5 stars for it as a whole.

I don't know why, but I have been on a huge serial kick lately. Even though I hate them, as a general rule. They make me feel like I'm being productive in my whole reading obsession, I guess. I still kind of wish they would disappear though.

So. Just One Night Parts 1-6. Hilarious. Seriously, I was dying laughing. That could also be from the fact that I was delirious with exhaustion, but can't sleep though. I'm going with the being funny as hell though. It was chock full of quirky ridiculousness, which is my cup of tea.

On the downside of that, beyond said quirky ridiculousness, there wasn't much else. I skimmed over bits of pieces of it because outside of the humor, I wasn't impressed with chunks of the storyline. Which, again, seems to be my biggest issue with serials. They just never seem to be enough to fully connect me with the characters.

But for a serial, Just One Night is one of the better ones that I have read which really is a glowing compliment from me.

In the final installment of the Just One Night Serial Series, William and Jennifer's story continues. After the run in with the crazy skank, Jennifer wakes up in the hospital with William by her side and the shock of her life. These two started with an agreement for one night, but life seems to have other ideas.

So I feel like this series fell off a bit for me around the fourth installment. I am not sure what it was exactly about it that shifted. At first William's brand of humor was adored, Jennifer was annoyingly wavering and then suddenly once she grew balls, William just stopped doing it for me. I think I was leaning towards expecting things between these two to become more serious rather than silly. I still enjoyed this series, but missed the bang it started off with.

Shaking my head

So, I knew well going into this that it was a "series," or lack thereof. I say that because it could've easily been two books and call it a day. Yet, partially my fault because I still read them all, although the author KNEW full well what she was doing. She made these books so you'd have to PAY, because apparently that means more than LOYAL readers. I will NEVER READ anything else from her again. This last book left a lot to be desired and I'm putting that very mildly. Including the ridiculous lack of a storyline exactly except some stalkers. NO EPILOGUE!!!!! Very SAD that the author has to reduce to such levels for MONEY, truly pathetic! I enjoy reading it brings me joy, and I cannot see how she sleeps at night knowing full well what she's doing.
