How could anyone be miserable in paradise? Carrie Samuels could write a book about it. Far away from her family and friends, she’s fled to Isla Mujéres hoping to escape a relentless stalker who knew how to torment and leave no calling card. What started out as a short-term solution has turned into a long-term jail sentence on a tropical island. Painfully handsome, with a killer smile and well-hewn body, Dillon McMahon left his past behind and plans to spend the rest of his life off the grid on Isla Mujéres, the perfect place to dig in. Living next door to a sexy, quirky, and mysterious woman makes it all the sweeter. When Carrie and Dillon’s pasts collide with the present, it threatens their budding relationship and sends them into a maelstrom of danger, abduction, and attempted murder. Sometimes, no matter how far you run, you just can’t hide.
This is my first time in reading this author and it is the storyline about what the book might contain that drew my attention. Being a long and I do mean long time reader it is harder and harder to find good suspense thrillers that hold my attention. The reason for that is I usually figure it out too fast or it just is not suspense filled enough for me. The characters might still hold my attention after that but only if they were interesting. In this one though the suspense attracted me right away with me the reader wanting to jump in there and help her myself after the last incident that was so creepy. This is also the first time I seen a character have to go to such extreme measures to hide that were so successful as long as they were. To get lost and invisible in paradise can be easy to do but becomes hard over time because it could become a prison. Carrie though finds that her neighbor Dillon who is new to the island might not be such a bad neighbor after all especially after to gets to know him and why he is there.Quite a few humorous incidents to occur before that too, before she trusts him that is. He also kinda sooner rather than later suspects something has in the past spooked her also. Then the unthinkable happens the one that she is hiding from finds her. She lets Dillon know that what happened but then it might be too late or is it? The author will take you on one thrilling ride with the race against time searching, thank goodness for his background and experience too. Grit your teeth and buckle in because it will be one spine tingling cutting edge caliber of a ride. When you have grown to love the one you are searching for that alone too can be one explosive fuel to spur you on. I hoped for a good one and got one better than that and with the kind of conclusion that plastered a smile on my face leaving a lasting goofy smile. Received a arc for a honest review.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Finding Lost by Deena Remiel is the second book in the On the Run series, but the first book I have read by this author. I am so glad that I discovered Ms. Remiel because I found a lot of things that I really enjoyed about this book including the characters and the suspenseful story. While not perfect, the story kept me riveted.
Carrie is hiding from a stalker so her island paradise is really more of a jail cell. She’s afraid to trust anyone but she’s tired of feeling alone and isolated. When fate keeps throwing Dillon in her path, she decides to take a risk. Just when Carrie starts to believe that she can be happy, trouble finds her.
My attention was grabbed from the very first page. The intrigue of the stalker provided drama and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. The action was fast paced and provided many exciting moments. But there were a lot of those moments. While those scenes were intense, I’m not sure it was necessary to have so many of them. It stretched the believability of the story a bit to believe that one person could have so many life altering moments.
I really connected with both Carrie and Dillon, though there were times I was frustrated with their actions. Carrie’s fears and frustration over her situation earned my sympathy but her initial decision to be a recluse angered me because then her stalker was winning. I admired her strength and determination to fight when her life was threatened.
I appreciated Dillon’s efforts to reach out to Carrie and I was pleased to see him succeed. As a couple, the two made sense and I believed in their connection. However, when both made the decision to walk away in order to protect the other, it became a bit too melodramatic for me.
One area that I felt could use some work though was the dialogue, both internal and between characters. It didn’t always flow naturally and sometimes affected the believability. This and the over the top drama of both character’s pasts and the kidnapping and attempted murders brought my rating down despite all of the other positive qualities.
Don’t get me wrong though, overall I did enjoy Finding Lost and I’m glad that I have been introduced to the writing of Ms. Remiel. Her ability to write compelling suspense and charming characters has captured my interest to see what she writes next.
Everything about this book screams 5 stars! Carrie Samuels has a good life, until a deranged stalker shows up. Making it his personal mission to torment her. Carrie realizes she has no choice but to flee. Her new home starts to feel like a prison until Dillon McMahon moves next door. Dillon is ready to leave his former life behind but is it really possible to outrun your past. Dillon and Carrie try to build a relationship while danger lurks around them. Will their new found relationship be able to survive what's coming for them?
My favorite part of Finding Lost is the stalker. I know that sounds horrible but Deena Remiel does such an amazing job at making the stalker down right disturbing. The stalker isn't just a plot point to get Carrie to Isla Mujéres. Ms. Remiel develops him to his full potential giving the reader the chance to experience Carrie's fear.
I also loved Carrie and Dillon's romance. Carrie knows she needs to be weary of the stranger next door but finds herself drawn to him. Dillon is more than happy to find out his neighbor is sexy mysterious woman. They have moments that are funny, endearing and hot! I found myself rooting for their happy ending.
I received this book from the publish for an honest review.
Fated Desires On the Run line now brings us an exciting story of two people trying to escape their past. A very good, enjoyable and exciting story. I definitely need to look into more Deena Remiel books.
Carrie Samuels is trying to escape a stalker the police can not find. She did the only thing she could do until the stalker played his hand and exposes himself, she changes her name her appearance and moves away distancing herself away from family and friends. Three years of living on the caribbean paradise island and she feels like she's in a self imposed prison. Dillon McMahon is burned out, after being a detective and a private eye in his own private firm he has his fair share of enemies and moving to a small island is his early retirement. The instant attraction between Carrie and Dillon scares Carrie on edge afraid because her stalker and Dillon knows something is wrong. When their pasts collide it is an exciting and page-turning adventure.
Finding Lost was a fantastic trip, so action packed and kept me on the edge the whole way through it. Carrie Samuels has had to move her whole life around all because of a stalker. She leaves behind everything, her family, friends, and a thriving book store to hide from the stalker, never thinking that 3 years later she would still be hiding. She has her life the way she likes it, very few people that she trusts, and keeping a low profile. Dillon McMahon has come to the island to escape his past as well, the former policeman and private investigator has had enough of bad people. When they run into each other more than once in a day, Carrie starts to soften towards him. But will both of their pasts return to haunt them? You have to read to find that out!
Finding Lost will take you on a rollercoaster ride from the very first pages. Fast paced and filled to the brim with excitement, drama, a little romance, with an added twist that will have you gasping = and on the edge of your seat .
This suspenseful romance has a eye catching cover which depicts its contents , wonderfully crafted characters and a storyline that maybe short but certainly filled to the brim with goodies.
An enjoyable read that will have you gripping your reader and wandering what the heck is going to happen next !
I seriously love Deena's work. This is a quick read full of intense scary moments, heart pounding romance, an emotional roller coaster. You'll find yourself glued to those pages.
Deena Remiel has written a real page turner that grabs you right from the start. This book is easily read in one sitting. Good story, good characters, and of course a happy ending.
Thrilling Novella about mystery, abduction, danger and even romance. Two people from New York come to this island paradise to become lost to the world, invisible. One fleeing from an insane stalker and one from mob criminals released from prison seeking revenge. Carrie and Dillon meet for the first time on the island, fall in love and together fight the demons that show up on their doorstep. The pace was fast, the drama was intense and dangerous. Interesting story with likable leading characters. However, more development of the relationship would have added to the plot. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Four Stars.

Laura aka Carrie is running from a stalker who has been tormenting her for years. When she comes home to find out the stalker has crossed a new dangerous line she knew things had to change. Dillion is a retired cop/ detective needing peace. This book is a quick read. Full of action, mystery, twists and love. When both Carrie and Dillion's lives collide. Never did they expect the chaos of their pasts to catch up to them. Causing the whirlwind effect on the island as it did. I'm glad this book has a happy ending. I give this book a 5 star rating.

Finding Lost is the story of Laura/Carrie and Dillon. Laura/Carrie is running from a stalker and Dillon has retired from police/investigative work. Both have found refuge on a tropical island paradise and quickly strike up a relationship. This story moves quickly - 7 months from beginning to end - and has a lot packed into those 7 months. With the exception of not being able to pronounce the island name, I found this story to be an easy read. The characters are likable and developed enough. You do learn quite a bit about them even though this is a novella length book. There was not a lot of scenery description. There was some but not enough for me to "see" it in my mind or feel like I was there with them. There is a LITTLE bit of angst, a LOT of danger, some surprises, and some sex scenes but nothing hot or erotic. This is a stand alone story and does have an HEA.

You can run and hide, but that doesn't mean you won't be found! Laura is being stalked, and not by just any stalker. This stalker wants to own her and hurt her. She has to run, to escape. She changes her face with implants and changes her face. She escapes to Island Mujeres. It has been three years! Who knew going in witness protection would be a life sentence? She live looking behind her shoulder and ev en fears getting packages. This is not a good for at to live. She has left everything behind, friends, family, everything shes known. Then one night she meets a handsome stranger. Though she is leery at first, he is charming and is great at making her feel secure and calm. Will this relationship work? Or perhaps he has secrets of his own. Could be these secrets throw her back to where she started! Frightened and in danger? A great thriller. Highly entertaining! I received this book in exchange of an him st review. I give this book 5 STARS!!! Spectacular, well written!!

Well this story starts out as two people trying to run from their pasts. Carrie aka Laura is running from a psycho stalker and Dillon retired Detective is trying to escape all the bad things and just live a quite life. Carrie literally falls.into Dillion' s arms and then they start running again into one another. Does their past catch up with them and put them in harms way? Will they live a Happily ever after?
Ms. Remiel is quite the accomplish writer. I was scared, mad and I want to get in the book and help. Talk about a #Thriller yep this story had me on my toes. Laura Singleton was being stalked, sent presents, leaving notes ,dead animals dressed up. Her stalker was so clever the police can't find him, no finger prints, not one piece of evidence to find out who this man was. Messages on her bathroom mirror was the last drawn. Laura Singleton died that evening and Carrie Samuels was born and now Carrie was going off grid. Change of hair color and appearance no could recognize her. Dillon McMahon is a detective who worked undercover but he was burnt out added to that Dillon had secrets. So he went off the grid too and moved in next to Carrie. Worried he could be the Stalker she kept her distance but one day everything changed and Carrie and Dillon were inseparable. Neither Carrie or Dillon realized you can't run away from your problems, they always catch up to you and they did catch up to both of them. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

40% in and I had to stop as it was not only so bloody awful, it was asinine on so many levels! The writing, the characters, the story - part of me wanted to scream, the other part wanted to poke my eyes out. What a piece of crap.
