I've been apprehensive to write this review because I disliked this book SO much. I hated the change in point of views and how the story revolved around just one event: The Hunt. There was nothing going on parallel to that and if something started to go on, it was all speculation and it died down fast. Also, because of how much I was"enjoying" this book I skimmed and skipped over A LOT just to make it go by faster. The only thing that mattered to me after the different point of views started, was finding out who Mary Anne picked and boy was that disappointing and anticlimactic.

Mary Anne was very annoying this time around, but don't take my word for it because it could just be me projecting. Sure, she's the one that made the plan and made a few things possible, but I just couldn't stand her. Her love of triangle was grating on my nerves.

Gage...I hate this kid and have hated him since he popped up in Book #1. He's impulsive and simply does what he wants, when he wants it and nobody tells him no. So because I hated Gage and Mary Anne so much (this isn't a spoiler, just my opinion) I think they deserve each other. There! I said it.

Hunter deserves better, but he isn't a saint either. His chapters and Michelle's chapters were the only ones I enjoyed reading. They were the most action packed and actually moved the story along without all the whining and what-ifs.

The conclusion to this book (even though I was skimming every other chapter) was predictable to me. I think Mary Anne chose right because....URGH! I can't even justify that without giving away a major spoiler.

I received Dawn in return for an honest review. Mary Anne and Gage are free at last but at the cost of having to out the Dire’s to the society. While they are on the outside Hunter and his pack are locked in the Pterons jail until the King decides what to do with them. Gage’s transformation isn’t complete so he needs to get Hunter as well as the rest of the pack out and with the help of one of Mary Anne’s human friends they might just do that. Mary Anne knows that the King’s wife might just be the key to saving the Dire’s so she trackers her down and sets a meeting up. However Gage is requested at the meeting and Allie brings with her Levi her husband as well as the King of the Society.
Levi agrees to set the Dire’s free but in return Mary Anne and Gage have to bring in Hunter’s brother because unlike Hunter he’s not a good guy. Knowing if they want to save Gage they need to being in Hunters brother they set out to find him. However they aren’t the only ones who will be hunting him down the young female Pteron guard who’s watching the female dire has plans to catch him as well to prove her worth. Will they be able to find Hunter’s brother before Gage runs out of time? What secret’s will they uncover along the way?
I love Gage and Mary Anne they are one of my favorite Alyssa Rose Ivy paranormal couples. Deep down I knew they are meant to be together even though I knew it would hurt Hunter and as much as I wanted to dislike him he’s really not a bad guy. I like Mary Anne while she may be a human in the supernatural world she in love with one of the Dire’s whom she’s been crushing on long before anything ever happened between them. Now that the man she loves turn’s furry she’s still staying by his side risking her life to save him.
Dawn is the third and final installment in the Dire Wolves Chronicles. The Dire Chronicles is a spin-off of Crescent Chronicles so we are given a chance to see some of my favorite character as they all are connected in one way or another. I really enjoyed that the characters while different series are intertwine together forming new friendships and alliances. I’m captivated by the concept for the Dire’s after all shifters are one of my favorites to read and they are werewolves but kicked it up a notch. I always get a little nervous when a love triangle happens because they typically don’t end well but this one does. Everything works out for the best and I see some potential love in Hunter’s future with a winged girl. I’m conflicted on how I feel about the end because I hate letting go of characters that I’ve grown attached to. The only plus side is that based on the past I know they will pop up in future stories that will come out. I love the authors writing style it’s fast paced well written and I always have a hard time putting them down. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review, I was in no way compensated for this review.

Alyssa Rose Ivy draws a conclusion to the Dire Wolves Chronicles with Dawn, and I must say it was quite a read! I fell so in love with this series, guess because I tend to have a love for werewolves a lot lately! And Dires are basically the ultimate werewolf!

Things are pretty intense in this one. Hunter and his fellow pack members have been captured by the Pterons and are being held prisoners. I couldn’t help but feel some dislike this time for some of my once favorite characters! It was so weird, to see them as a sort of enemy for the time. They were holding the Dires captive based on old wars and grudges from their “fathers” basically. Talk about no forward thinking at all. I expected better from Levi. But it’s also possible, with all the reading in between and no clear cut idea of what this “war” was like, that each of them were entitled to their dislike of one another.

In the meantime, Mary Anne and Gage have recruited Mary Anne’s best friend, Genevieve to help them in their attempt to rescue Hunter and the others. Though this task is going to require far more help than Genevieve can provide. And this is where Allie and Levi walk in (again, since we’ve basically seen Levi already).

It was great fun seeing these characters mix together. When the series first started out, I thought this was going to be one that stands on its own, and while it still does that in a way, I like seeing it be connected to the Crescent Chronicles. Although, where it stands chronologically with all the other spin off series is still something I am unsure of. But that’s such a minor thing, it’s hardly worth noting, as our focus remains on Mary Anne and Gage.

Though I still always had a soft spot for Hunter. Not that I was on his “team” to say, because really? Falling in love with a girl you dreamt about and not knowing anything about her? That’s just weird. And a little creepy. Though, I never was really sold on Gage. Don’t get me wrong, he and Mary Anne have total chemistry, I guess I just didn’t like how he seemed to have snapped and realized he loved Mary Anne like she did him after all these years. I guess I would’ve like a more gradual falling in love process than what we got in this series, but again, that mostly just comes from my personal preferences in regards to romance in books!

It’s also in Dawn that we finally meet the elusive and evil twin brother of Hunter. Fielding was definitely an evil villain of sorts, but I felt like his page time was just so short. We had knowledge of the idea of him for the past two books, but when finally meeting the big bad, I felt like the conflict with him was resolved rather quickly.

I do truly enjoy the characters in these series! It seems that everyone worth noting is rather entertaining! I enjoyed Genevieve and her spunk! Then there was Michelle—who might have popped up in a previous series, but I can’t really remember, she might not have had a large role in that installment—but she was a delight! She was a very determined character working to prove herself and naturally, there might have been a spark or two between her and Hunter. It seems every character in these series will meet their true love and while it sounds kind of sappy, the reader in me is all sorts of happy about that!

The Dire Wolves Chronicles definitely wraps things up in this trilogy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one or two of these characters make another appearance in a new series! There was a shocking reveal in the midst of the climax at the end that left me wondering what a particular someone might think of said event. And there’s still definite potential to see more of the other members of Hunter’s wolf pack! So hopefully one or two or more of these characters will pester Alyssa to write their story!

Basically, Dawn was a pretty amazing read that draws a satisfying conclusion but will still leave you hungry for more from these amazing characters.

Actual Rating: 4.5 Stars!!

I’m afraid of how you make me feel. Of how out of control we get when we’re together, but that has nothing to do with you being a Dire. That crazy feeling was there before you changed.”

There are no words to describe how excited I was to pick up this book. Ever since I finished Dusk, I have been waiting in anticipation to get my hands on Dawn. And let me tell you, Dawn was worth the wait!

Dawn picks up right where Dusk left off. Mary Anne and Gage are on the run. However, they can’t just run off and start a new life. No, they have to somehow find a way to break Hunter out of prison so that he can finish changing Gage. Fresh out of options, they have no choice, but to reach out to Mary Anne’s friend Genevieve. Along with her and Denny’s help, they will try to make the impossible happen…..Hunter is determined to end the hunt, no matter what the cost. He doesn’t know who to trust, but in the end, the answer will come from a very unlikely source….

Dawn was such an exciting read. It was fast paced and told from multiple points of view. Normally, I only like to read two points of view. More than two can get tricky and as a reader, I start to get overwhelmed. However, in this case, the multiple points of view really worked well and added so much to the story.

Writing a spoiler free review for a book you really enjoyed is so hard!!! I just want to gush in excitement! But, I’m not going to spoil this for you. Nope. But, I will tell you this: I loved Dawn. I loved everything about this book. It had mystery and suspense, angst and romance, betrayal and help from unexpected places. The main characters; I felt so connected to Mary Anne and Gage. The two of them together are a force to be reckoned with and they love they share is so strong, so real.

I enjoyed getting lost in the world that Alyssa Rose Ivy has created. Every time that I think I couldn’t possibly love a character or paranormal creature more, she has to go and prove me wrong. She gives me characters that are easy to relate to, to connect with and then interweaves their stories together, so that I never really have to say goodbye to my favorite characters.

Dawn was the perfect ending to the Dire Wolves series. I devoured this book in one sitting. I literally finished it in about 3 hours! It was that good! I could not put it down. I was captivated and intrigued from start to finish. Even though Mary Anne and Gage’s story is over, I am hopeful that this won’t be the last that we see of them. Alyssa Rose Ivy has really opened my eyes to the paranormal scene and I can not wait to see what journey she will take me on next!

Dawn (The Dire Wolves Chronicles #3) by Alyssa Rose Ivy Alpha of the Dire Wolves, Hunter, is imprisoned by the Pterons while on his quest to stop the hunt. Gage and Mary Anne attempt to break Hunter out.

Dawn is an action pact story that was full of exciting twists.

Alyssa Rose Ivy does a fantastic job with her character development.  Mary Anne and
Gage grow tremendously throughout this story.  Newly turned Dire Wolf, Gage is dealing with his two sides; while Mary Anne goes from being meek to bold.  The two also have wonderful chemistry.

I enjoyed Hunter and Michelle’s interaction.  I found it amusing that they both initially attempting to use the other and came to an understanding.  They are smart individuals whose conversations I enjoyed.  I would love to see a story with these two down the line.

I also enjoy Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Crescent and Allure Chronicles.  It is interesting viewing the Pterons from the Dire Wolves’ viewpoint.

I love the world that Alyssa Rose Ivy created.  She does a great job describing the setting. The plot was interesting and full of struggles and mystery.  There were multiple exciting turns of events.  I like how the story concluded.

I've been sitting on this review for a while. It's a hard one to write, especially since I really loved the first two books in this series. Unfortunately, Dawn did not give me the same sense of suspense and excitement that I had in the earlier books.

Gage and Mary Ann are on the run, trying to find a way to stop the hunt of the dire wolves. Hunter and a few of his pack are imprisoned by the king and the true villain(s) in this world are revealed.

But the scenes between Gage and Mary Ann felt flat to me, and I found myself skimming. The tension between Mary Ann and Hunter was also non-existent.

The conclusion happens so fast that it seemed to be over before it even started and while Mary Ann's choice was a no-brainer, I wanted to read more about Hunter, but I guess that will be for a new series.

So overall, this series ends with a whimper instead of a bang, and that is unfortunate, especially because it had a great start.

I don't even know where to start...
This series was just plain trash. Marry Anne constantly got on my nerve and Gage...Ughh. The first book was intriguing and dragged me in. So I gave the second one a try. What a waste of time. I couldn't read the the last one and I just needed to know the ending so I looked. Lord help me!!! The only saving grace to the series is Hunter. I usually stay away form love triangles since it's never written well. Boy was I disappointed by this book.
The first book starts with the Marry Anne in love with Gage, a boy form her hometown that she goes to college with. The relationship was rushed and unbelievable. Like no back story of how she developed a crush or if they spent time together. Nothing. It just brought up too many unanswered questions. Then she meets Hunter, a wolf. He is a gentleman and upstanding guy. I wish I can keep going but then I'd be spoiling it. All I can say is that it sure aint worth reading.

A satisfying read.

Seriously. I'm going to need more Hunter, I'm just saying. I really enjoyed this series. Mary Anne's evolution as a character was done really well book to book and the love story is amazing. I also love the little glimpses of Levi adjusting to his role as king.

It all seemed anticlimactic. That was all that had to be done to end the hunt? I was expecting something more I guess. I am happy with who Mary Anne chose. Hoping we still see some of these characters in Ms. Ivy's other books.

At last, we've arrived at the final story in the Dire Wolf Chronicles with Mary Anne and Gage's arrival in Sunwalk, Florida. Mary Anne's friend Genevieve is somewhat of a hacker and may be able to hack into the Society's database and find out where Hunter and the others are being held. Mary Anne leads the charge to free Hunter so he can complete Gage's transformation. Not surprisingly, after Genevieve gets over the initial shock of the story that Mary Anne and Gage spin, she's on board for the adventure.

Denny meets up with the trio back in New Orleans only to tell them Genevieve's services are not needed as the Society doesn't use technology, thus there isn't anything to hack into. Mary Anne comes up with a plan to talk to the Queen of the Society whom she briefly met during Gage's trial, and asks for her help. The king and queen meet with Mary Anne, Gage, Genevieve and Denny and cut a deal--Fielding for Hunter and the pack. Now tasked with finding Fielding, the group head back to Chattanooga to get information from the sabers, Isaac and Jocelyn on Fielding's whereabouts. Back to Boston it is (this road trip seems to never end).

A Pteron guard, Michelle, helps Hunter escape from lockup to find Fielding to bolster her career. There are subtle hints that Michelle is more than just a guard as if there is some significance to the fact but it is never explained or revealed. Anyway, Hunter accepts the help and makes his way to Boston where he finds that Gage and Mary Anne have mated and that one of the members of his pack has betrayed him while working with Fielding to destroy him. Talk about a bad day! Hunter and Fielding finally face off and only one survives the altercation.

The showdown with Fielding is anticlimactic and many questions still remain after the showdown. Gage doesn't need Hunter's second bite after all since he mated with Mary Anne which made him stronger. Hunter finally accepts Mary Anne is not his and there is no mention of what happens with Marni and Chet who were waiting to mate after Hunter mated (no one can mate before the alpha--strange). The king offers Hunter a job working with Michelle and Mary Anne and Gage are free to live happily ever after.

This series is unusual from typical wolf shifter stories although that is not a bad thing, nor the reason I didn't much care for the series. The story is written in a mix of first and third person and there are many editing issues as well as many unresolved issues that were introduced into the plot. Not a series I would fully recommend, but if you must, proceed with caution.

On my Were Scale of Hotness, 2.5 stars.

So trilogy has ended altho has left a couple of lines for other characters to have their own stories (and may well have i need to check!!!)

I feel a little like it was wrapped up quickly. I hope there's something more about Hunter and Michelle? The king and queen - esp with her pregnancy? Maybe Denny and Genevieve? I'd like to know more about the Pterons....and also how Mary Ann and Gage got home and explained it all and how they managed as a couple with him being a wolf?

Also felt like Chets double crossing wasn't really explored and his punishment....

I realise it probably needed to be wrapped up as a trilogy and it did the job as that! It explained how the crash happened and who was behind it, and about the Hunt, and the king and Hunter coming to an agreement.

I remember in the first book feeling disgust for the Dires at the way they treated Mary Ann and Gage. I felt worried for them as I genuinely had no idea how this was going to turn out!
With Mary Ann and Gages relationship...i was mixed. I wasn't sure if at first it was just sex. Maybe then it was mostly because of the situation they'd been pushed closer together and this feeling had been manifested as love? Also mayve guilt on Mary Ann's part? Yes they had sexual chemistry but I think it might be as they're so young perhaps...? But with Gage mating with her...thats a forever deal.....again - is like to see what may happen!!

This was a good trilogy! Gives you a range of emotions to run through, the story is interesting and I honestly read it pretty quick! I didn't skim read which is always a bonus! And it held my attention! A good set to pick up!!

Man was I sad to see these Chronicles end with Dawn, the very last book in the epic Dire Wolves Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. Before starting this book, I suggest that you at least start with Dire, the first book in this series. Otherwise, you are going to be a bit clueless to the back story in this book. Rose Ivy’s paranormal series do tend to cross over a lot so if you really want to start at the very beginning of all her paranormal series, I suggest you start with Crescent Chronicles or the Afterglow Trilogy.

As always, Rose Ivy delivers another great story revolving around Hunter, Gage, and Maryanne. With some swift plot twists, surprises, and a whole lot of forever kind of love, Rose Ivy entertains us while submerging us in her wonderful world of shifters and all things paranormal. I have loved watching Gage and Maryanne on their journey to freedom. Their love has grown so much since book one. From young infatuation to lust and finally to a forever kind of love that has enabled both Gage and Maryanne to grow and develop into some of my most favorite couples that Rose Ivy has written to date.

Hunter has always been a bit of question mark to me. Do I love him, do I hate him? Is he crazy obsessed or is that compelling need he has to claim Maryanne as his own a bit hot in a crazy weird way? I think I can finally say without a doubt I’m a Hunter fan. I loved the chemistry that he and Michelle, the winged bodyguard gone rogue, have. I am so excited to see yet another connection from one of Rose Ivy’s paranormal series to another. I hope that we see a lot more of Hunter and Michelle in the very near future.

As always Rose Ivy delivers you a great read that sucks you directly into the world she’s created making you fall hard for her characters along the way. There has never been a single book that Rose Ivy has written that I haven’t been entertained by, loved reading, and kept me page turning. She has an outstanding talent that is well worth your time reading and appreciating. If you are looking for a great paranormal series with fun, witty characters, interesting story lines that will keep you hooked, then look no further than this author.

Dawn b Alyssa Rose Ivy

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
#TeamGage or #TeamHunter I swear through this series I kept flip flopping back and forth. The two men fighting over Mary Anne was just soooo angsty!!! To say I am sad to see the end of this series is a total understatement. Am I happy with how it all played out? YES ! Did I love the ending and who is with who? YES! Did I wish there was MAYBE another couple of chapters? YES!! I do think the ending was a little bit rushed and would have loved another chapter or two or maybe even an epilogue to see more from Hunter’s new reality.
Ok so this book is about Gage and Mary Anne looking to save Hunter, Chet and Marni from the Society Jail. The pack members are being held by King Levi. I loved the introduction of Michelle and her backstory was like a light bulb going off in my head!!! When we get to know her past I said “AHHHH OMG YES!!!” when it clicked with me who she was. Hunter is biding his time until he can escape to save his future Mate Mary Anne. Mary Anne and Gage are on the run looking for how to save Hunter with Denny’s help.
Along the way they meet up with Mary Anne’s former roomie who offers her help with getting the pack out. We find out there has been a lot of backstabbing and allies being made behind Hunters back all to try and bring our Alpha down. Allie and Levi are there along with Hailey to bring the original Society characters into play. I am sooo loving this series and all the spin offs. If you love paranormal then you need to read all of Alyssa’s books!

I should just say: Alyssa. Dire. Hunter. Gage. Sleeping bag. ;) And it should be enough for a perfect, 5 star review :D

But seriously. The book is an amazing finale of the trilogy. She perfectly tied all loose ends and left us with enough hope for another book ;)

The story picks up where it left: Gage and Mary Anne are running away from New Orleans. I think during this journey you can see the most how both of them have grew. They both started being the adults they were not feeling at the beginning. They know what responsibility is. What surviving is. How danger, love, friendship, jealousy tastes. How it feels. Even though both of them could have run away and by laying low stay off the radar. But as they both changed, they were not able to leave Hunter and the rest of the pack in the hands of Pterons.

Hunter...hmmm... I wasn't a big fan of him. But in here? I started to like him. I could understand his obsession with Mary Anne, as he wanted to stop the hunt, but he was also a creeper because of that. In this part he is more...approachable and also seems like he has more feelings (except being obsessed). We can see that he cares about his pack and he will do everything to save them. He will even agree to get help from a Pteron.

In here we also meet Hunters evil twin. And let me tell you that: I hated him from the beginning. I could not believe that a person, a family, a bother, A TWIN BROTHER can do something despicable.

The whole book is packed with action and emotions!

Amazing! Simply amazing!

5 stars! <3

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Dawn is the third book in The Dire Wolves Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I was so sad to see this trilogy come to an end. I grew very attached to these wolves. I'm hoping for another spin off, because I think some of the characters have more story in them. We're given the perspectives of Mary Anne, Hunter, Gage, and someone new, Michelle. I don't remember her from any of the other books that take place within this world, but I liked her a lot. She was sassy, spunky, and smart. Gage is coming into his own now, and I think he's beginning to embrace his wolfy side. Hunter is still Hunter, serious and broody (I'm still Team Hunter by the way), but I think I saw a lighter side to him a few times within Dawn, and it made me like him more. I enjoyed this story. If you a fan of this author like you should be, this trilogy is a must read.

The ARC of Dawn by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Dawn brings the conclusion to The Dire Wolves Chronicles. It is here that we learn the fate of Gage and Mary Anne. There are also new characters, as well as the return of some ancillary characters from previous books.

While I am glad to finally learn the outcomes for Gage, Mary Anne, and Hunter, I am left with several questions regarding the outcomes for some of the other characters. I am hoping that future chronicles will include some of the answers to those questions.

I am thoroughly pleased with the storytelling by Ivy. She has a truly magical touch in the creation of paranormal creatures who exist in a ‘normal’ world. Her well written books draw you into the story and make you forget for a while that her characters are fictional.

I recommend the entire Dire Wolves trilogy, including Dawn (despite the questions invoked). I rate this book 4 stars. I rate the trilogy 4 1/2 stars.

Finally the conclusion we've been waiting for, and it was a long damn wait let me tell you, I've been dying to know who Mary Anne picks, obviously if you've read my past reviews of this series you'd know I'm team Hunter all the way that sexy broody guy. A little surprise was waiting for us in this book, I loved that damn surprise probably my favorite scene in the whole book, well expected for the scenes with Hunter I loved those too. As you noticed unlike my other reviews this one has no quotes and that's not because I didn't find scenes memorable, or enjoyable it's because the quotes I would have liked to use would spoil the surprises and who she chooses. For the ending all I can say is that I'm hoping there will be a novella coming out about a few characters.

I really enjoyed this book. Not only because Levi and Allie where in it but also because Gage and Mary Ann finally mated without Hunter approval. I'm happy Michelle made Hunter finally realize that Mary Ann was not his and he was not in love with her. Im glad that he let Gage and Mary Ann finally leave to go home to their parents after they finally got the hunt to be over. I was really surprised that Gage was the one that killed Hunter's brother. I wish there was more to the ending thought. Maybe about how Gage and Mary Ann parent reacted when they came home and them visiting Hunter and his pack sometime in the future.

Ok I enjoyed the series until I reached the 3rd book. It was very obvious that Mary Anne was going to end up with Gage but I hate it when the third person in the triangle has a new love interest at the end of the book. Can't someone just be broken hearted!!?? Also, I thought Levi was a dick. If it was that easy to end the hunt why didn't he just do it. Who was Michelle's ex??? What about the queen being pregnant??? I thought these would play some significance in the story but apparently not.

The end just really fell flat and was extremely rushed. Everything for the most part did get wrapped up though.

This actually gets a 4 for the whole series

Finally. I truly enjoyed this triology. Creepyness and all. As I suspected some characters got redemption in this last installation. Gage and MaryAnne did stay true to character throughout the plot which shows Ms Rose Ivy's sincere care for her characters. Something many, many authors should take note of. This is not a complex, angsty type of story. It's an adventure with no need to dwelve deeper. But still. It was a really good read, every book was. And I will continue to read this author's books. Both her paranormal and contemporary. She is really good in writing beleivable and likable couples. I'm so grateful for that.

I really don't know where to start. I didn't like the first book at all... The whole kidnapping thing was to much but I decided I needed to give it a try since I absolutely love the pteron world Alyssa created. I'm glad I did. The second and third book where better. However I can't give 5 stars to these series. I didn't fell in love like the other pteron series. I also think that this book needed an epilogue. I feel something is missing... Loved to see Allie, Hayley and Levi again. I absolutely loved that finally Michelle is having a POV. I think the girl deserves a break :)
Overall, not bad but I don't think I would reread it...

great book !!! great series !! really enjoyed this series, and its was a good, ending to a series with a few turns I wasn't expecting. Really loved how it tied into other series that she has written, ( love when an author does that.... just sayin') . I will also look forward to more that I believe will be ties-ins to her other books. Alyssa writes smoothly, and the story flows while I'm sorry to see it end, as I said earlier, I believe that she will tie other stories into future books. Enjoy reading !!!!

well that went well. Gage is no longer a rat bastard. Apparently he's the only one that gets laid in this book although true to romance fashion there are a lot of other people who are thinking about it and want to get laid with a lot of other people in the book and we want them to get laid too- true romance is more about the build up and the longing than it is about the porn
And Hunter... dang! we need another book. If this is just a trilogy, I'm going to have to stab myself with a knitting needle.
