Danielle Linden and Rhode Delaur are as opposite and normal as two people can be. One is a Midwestern college-bound high school student who loves her sister and worries about the future, the other is a Californian foster kid who just can't wait to get out in the world with her boyfriend. Their lives are normal, calm, and not too far out of the ordinary... until things start happening. Things that defy logic and the rules of the world they both thought they lived in. Things that make connections between two girls halfway across the country.

Mirrored by Lynn Titus is the story of two special girls with intertwined futures. Rhode is a foster kid and a rebel. Danielle is an honor student applying for college scholarships.
Rhode is almost a victim of a school shooting, which brings out some fierce instincts in her. Danielle reads about the shooting, finding that weird things are starting to happen to her too.
I won’t give away the shebang at the end, but believe me that there is one! Mirrored may be ‘short’ for a novel, but it’s filled with all kinds of breathless moments and several out-of-nowhere what?! moments. Abe, Tristan, Millie, and Danielle’s parents all get pulled into this internal struggle in the lives of these two girls, who don’t know each other from Eve.
Yes, this is the author’s first novel, and no it’s not perfect. Actually, it’s awesomely put together, so no worries for all you grammar freaks. Yes, the writing could be tightened a little, but I don’t feel like it detracted from the story and its ability to grip me.
I’m anxiously awaiting the sequel, if that’s any recommendation :)

I won a copy of Mirrored through a Goodreads giveaway. I was under no obligation to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

Danielle Linden is a college-bound high school student who has a loving family and just wants to make everyone proud, while and Rhode Delaur is a young woman in foster care with an uncertain future. When events beyond both of their control starkly changes the course of their lives, will Danielle and Rhode have very different futures than they realized?

The biggest problem that I had with Mirrored was that it lacked focus. With too many ideas that were just bouncing around, the novel suffered an identity crisis. I wish that the author just went for it, by pumping up the science fiction elements and leaving realism totally behind. The dual perspective format does not help, as the two timelines do not come together quickly enough. With a lack of character development, both Rhode and Danielle do not leap off of the pages. The premise was promising, but the novel just never came together for me.

ok , I won this as a first reads giveaway. I love - love - love the feel of the paper and the cover. It is just a nice feeling book. The story amazes me , if I hadn't received a lovely little hand written note from the author telling me how important writing was to her I don't know that I would have guessed how young she is. Way To Go !

with that said - I did feel some frustration in the beginning of the book with how short some of the sentences were - just seemed almost choppy - versus concise.

The story itself more than made up for any silly frustrations like that, this truly is a GOOD READ.

Look forward to hearing more from Lynn Titus.
