Bad Boy: Naughty at Night

Rate this book
Kindergarten teacher by day, sensual masseuse by night, Peter Davidson never thought things would get so tough that he’d need to give out sensual massages in secret in order to make ends meet. But when the school slashes his hours in half and with no other jobs available in town, he stumbles across the opportunity when fiddling around on an online dating site and a rather handsome older gentleman offers him money.

What he thinks will be a onetime thing turns into a booming business at night, and Peter promises himself he’ll only do it long enough just until he gets caught up. He has nothing else going on in his life, after all.

Handsome, classy and educated as he is, Peter still hasn’t met The One. Until, that is, he meets Chip - the parent of a new student, who turns out to be more man than he’s ever dreamed of.

What will Chip say if he finds out what Peter is doing on the side? And, what’s worse, what will the school say when they find out this teacher has been a very bad boy?

This short story had some major potential.

It's about a sexy, self-sacrificing kindergarten teacher who, in the face of mounting bills and pending eviction, decides to moonlight as a masseur who believes that all fairy tales massages should have happy endings. Cue unfortunate timing worthy of a Rom Com when Peter meets the smokin' hot father of one of his students just as he takes on his first few clients. Chip (awful, awful name for a character) is single, charming, a devoted father, and a detective (and boy, can this man wear the hell outta a pair of navy polyester pants!).

Sounds good, right?

Well, if the story had stuck to just these elements, I bet it would have been pretty good. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

I should be clear that the book isn't poorly written, per se, it's just not to my personal tastes. I was looking for an arc with a clear beginning and middle and a satisfying ending, more interaction and affection between the main characters, something (a love scene, an argument, anything!) that evoked an emotional reaction from me, and some freakin' ROMANCE in my M/M romance novel, and I don't feel that this book delivered those things. Because of these reasons (and more), I likely won't read the rest of the series.

That said, I'm sure that this book will still find an audience. The author's writing style, the story's structure, and the unfinished feeling of Bad Boy all reminded me a LOT of J.J. Scott's Being Chase - which I gave 2.5 stars (mostly because the kitchen sex was smokin' hot). However, Scott's book has an overall rating of 3.5 stars, so clearly LOTS of people enjoyed that one more than I did. I have a feeling the same might be true of this one, too.

We get to meet Peter, a kindergarten teacher who lives in constant fear that his department (art) will be shut down. As is so common in education, the sports department gets new funding while the rest gets slashed. Peter is already making next to nothing but takes a cut in pay to help his students out. Something has to be done, and falling into a job as a “masseuse” seems to be the ticket.

I’m not quite sure how we are supposed to look at Peter. He is a giving, caring teacher who is basically working as a hooker on the side? His “massages” end with sex and he is paid for it, so… He has Tony first and there could be some major drama there. Chip, on the other hand, seems like a good, decent soul. Hopefully Peter is able to make a good choice.

This story lost a little for me due to the fact that it ends in the middle, mid scene actually. I assume it is going to be continued in the next book.

Kindergarten teacher in a deprived area by day and sensual and sexy masseuse for men at night, Peter combines the pleasure needed to make ends when the headmaster of his school tells him that he must make cuts in its dark part, having agreed to receive only half of his salary.

He spends a small ad on a gay personals site without much hope and is surprised when he received favorable responses.

I really love these changes in Peter's personalities : attentive and patient teacher at day, shy man and a little apprehensive with Chip, and finally, very sensual, a bit player who has trouble resisting the bodies of men he mass that night. It is hot and makes you want to be between his hands - and his body - expert.

But really, Jaimie, this end? You can not leave us like that! I bite my nails pending further forward.

Not for me - there's no reality in the characters or story - could have been a good with more work but this felt like something that was written in an hour with no look back. In addition, it ends with a cliffhanger.

Peter Davidson is a low paid kindergarten Art teacher that needs to find a way to make ends meet. His department at school keeps getting passed over for funds, so Peter takes a pay cut to ensure the Art program continues to grow. The problem is his grumpy roommate is looking for the rent, and Peter doesn't have it. On a whim, he sets up an online ad to give massages, not quite expecting the response he receives.

Tony is a thug, a big sexy man, used to getting what he wants. Right now that is Peter. And while Peter enjoyed his brief time with Tony, he actually has his sights set on Chip. The cop and father of one of his students. Thinking that his encounter with Tony was a one time thing, Peter doesn't expect the man to just show up on his doorstep, laying down the law and basically laying claim to Peter. What will his cop do if he finds out about Tony, about what it is that Peter does to supplement his income?

There was something about this story that kept me engrossed, I think perhaps it was the danger of Peter being found out at any moment. I really enjoyed the story itself about a man who will do just about anything to guarantee his students have an Art program, but makes some very bad decisions along the way. There are consequences for anyone's actions, and it looks like Peter will find that out the hard way.

Sadly, this story was riddled with mistakes. Typo's galore, missplaced words, run on sentences, and even a name swap along the way. There was nothing wrong with the story or characters themselves, just the formatting and spelling. I'm rounding my rating up from 2.5 to 3 stars because the author did enough to draw me into this world and leave me hanging, wanting to read the next installment to see who will get the guy. The good looking cop? Or the sexy, dangers thug? OR, will both men walk away from Peter. On to the next book to see!

This was a fast read for me, one that I enjoyed thoroughly. Peter is a man that manages to stay true to his convictions, regardless of what faith throws at him. he’d rather give sensual massages to strangers than stop teaching at his school and bringing a bit of light in the lives of children with not many reasons to smile. Yet as he embarks on this adventure, the temptations and the risks are high. Interesting men appear in his life, he finally has some money to avoid being kicked out and enough to buy treats for his students, but what if his school find out? If that wasn’t enough, he meets Chip, a parent of one of his students and what seems to be his perfect match. Then again, Chip thinks he is nothing more than a teacher.

As Peter struggles to deal with the hardship of his life, trying to find hail Mary fixes for what seems like unbeatable odds in favor of his failure, he acts a bit like a child discovering a new world. He is easily mesmerized and caught between different paths to follow, having to decided between someone who demands a lot without giving as much, and Chip, who doesn’t really know everything that Peter is or does.

I should say, this Bad Boy comes with a wicked cliff hanger, but if you’re like me, you’ll just smile, shake your head, and proceed to wait patiently for the next book.

I really did enjoy this book! Peter is a Kindergarden Teacher who doesn't even earn enough to pay his rent let alone his bills and it seems things can only get worse with the cuts that are happening at the school.

Peter is a loveable character that grew on me very quickly. When he is torn about earning extra money giving exotic massages I could totally sympathise with him as there is so much more to this man than meets the eye. He hasn't had a relationship in a long time so when Chip a detective in the police force asks him out on a date he is even more confused and unsure especially as Chip is the father of one of his students.

Jamie Lake had me gripped throughout this book, the storyline believable, the character development Perfect certainly a book you will read in one sitting.

I'm not sure what to say about the ending, I was gutted. I absolutely hate cliff hangers and this was a killer! I now know the next book in this series is available so i would advise you download both books!

Highly recommended!

Jamie Lake does it again with his newest book in the series Naughty at Night.
Peter, a young Kindergarten teacher, will do anything to keep his class in the school system. But with budget cuts and the class not being required by the system how will he do it? He can barely make ends meet on his salary yet offers to take a pay cut to keep the kids in school.
A chance meeting from an online hookup site gives him the answer. Erotic massage....it helps pay the bills and keep a roof over his head. Meanwhile he meets one of his students Dad, the hot police officer Chip, who is defiantly interested in getting to know Peter better. Bit when Peter receives an offer from Casino Boss Tony what will he decide?
This is a very sexy, erotic hot read and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

I loved the first installment of this book series. It was a quick read that flowed nicely. I loved the banter between Peter and Chip and hope their relationship develops into more as the series continue. Tony is what they call 'to good to be true' in my opinion and any possible relationship with that many strings is questionable. I can see there is going to be a problem between Chip and Tony over Peter and can't wait to see how the two knew each other previously. I read M/M sporatically because I have found most I have tried have absolutely no story behind the HOT sex scenes, this book however has HOT sex and a seemingly interesting story line developing.Thereis a cliffhanger with a book two and not a stand alone.4.25 stars from me

It is a really fun novel. Jamie Lake creates vivid, memorable main characters in Peter and Chip. The supporting characters are also fun and interesting. of course, Peter and Chip barely start becoming interested in one another when wealthy, generous Tony steps in and wants to turn a one-nighter into something much more intense and exclusive. Jamie leaves you wanting, of course to buy and read the next installment of Peter's difficult but highly erotic life.

This is a really quick and enjoyable m/m read.

Peters on his own. His family have abandoned him after finding out he's gay. He's passionate about his job as a teacher. However he's struggling to make ends meet. When an opportunity falls on his lap to make a few extra few pound he jumps at it.

Although I thought he jumped into it too quickly I really enjoyed this story. Hope I don't have to wait too long for more of Peters story.

I really liked this short story which is the first in a series. As a teacher, I found the MC very likable and the circumstances he found himself in very believable. I have read several books by this author and continue to like his writing style. The ending definitely leaves you wanting more! It just got really good when it ended!

This short story was very hard to follow. It starts with a flashback from which you never return. It has a very good premise and really hot character ideas but it just did not come together in a way that makes sense at the end.

Unfortunately this one feel a bit flat for me.

I didn't care for the flash backs and where in the world is Chip and Peter's relationship??
Why is half the book over and I'm still waiting.

Storyline as rich as M/M porn Script and dramatic as Mexican soap opera. Teacher with the mentality of a stupid rent boy (I don't call rent boys stupid, but this one is) , not much of self respect and not strong enough to stand up for himself and say no. You know those girls or "boys" that are only good for being pretty , submissive and cared by their sugar daddy? Well that's Peter, the main character in this Book. Shrink could earn pretty penny analizing real life Peters issues. Teachers should be atleast smart enough to use effing condoms. Or lube? lube could be good. Again , it's like the Autor just described porn scenes from the perspective of a viewer - guy nr 1 has giant dick, guy Nr 2 wants that dick so bad he forgets the condom, lube or prep. There is no pain even if the guy haven't had sex in a while according to him . I mean if the Autor never had anal sex , she could have atleast done some research (And I assume it's a she because no Gay or straight guy would write that, plus the picture is fake/ of someone else and I think its just Pen Name to make more sales.). Unless Peter is size queen and has dildo the size of a fist and uses it several times a week this scene should have ended differently . Hint - guys asses do not lubricate themselves, precum is not enough for that. Then the "customer" taking BIG plug up his ass only with saliva as lube and no prep . I am not sure If I should lough or cry from the incredulity of all of that. Then there is the issue of price- 200$ for erotic massage? Tricks on a street wouldnt suck wienies for 20 bucks if all they needed to do is post an Ad on gay dating site and have 40 customers in under few hours for massage with happy ending only. And Rich guy , millionare in fact , hanging around gay hookup sites? In what world is this all plausible?
I Usually write reviews if the book is extremely good or extremely bad and in this case it's bad. I have sort of ocd- I have to finish the book I started reading, so I usually read description and comments/reviews first to not start reading bad book, but I bought these series without doing that first and now I am regretting it. I don't think I can finish those books even if my ocd needs it. I wouldn't have read it even if these books were for free on Internet. It's beyond my understanding how books like that get published AND narrated to audio version as well.
Sorry for my spelling and or grammar mistakes- English is my third language and I'm still learning it.

Bad Bay: Naughty at Night by Jamie Lake has a great premise. The audiobook narration by James Talbot is excellent - as his work always is.

My low rating reflects my personal dislike of any book that ends not only with a cliff hanger, but with absolutely not resolution at all.

On top of that, the book ends with something akin to 'if you want to know what happens next, read (meaning buy) Bad Boy: Naughty at Night # 2.

Nice Summer Read

First, this is only a portion of the full book, meant to be a book to buy it. It was enjoyable, light, easy reading. Perfect for the beach or the coffee shop.

There's not too much to say. Peter is a really good guy who has made some mistakes that could potentially come back to haunt him, especially after meeting Chip. I'd like to see more of this.

Great beginning

Peter is a teacher who needs to make some extra money. Between starting his online massage therapist job, meeting hookups online, and wanting to date a parent of one of his students, things are starting to catch up with him.

(Based On Short&Light Read)OMG!

erm.... can I say - Jamie Lake I really Hate You!!!???? bwahahhaaaaa

So here we have, Peter Davidson, kindergarten teacher by day and erotic masseuse by night. Being a kindergarten teacher was his lifelong dream, being an masseuse who brings happy endings to his male clientele, now that was a choice he had no chance to say 'No" to, not when financial demands were knocking on the door.

Peter is a great guy but his life is really not that fulfilling, financially that is. His work was fine, it was his salary from the budget cuts that were putting him to pasture. He needed a side-line job and having talented hands was a gift. He first gives it a try, and it worked. He placed a price tag, closed his eyes and crossed his fingers: whoa! it worked too. Now, he had something that could keep him afloat.

Then his life gives him a gift, in the form of Chip, a cop and single father to one of his kindergartners. This guy, well, he is a dream boat and Peter finally has a chance to have a great relationship. But his sideline work is intruding, especially when Tony is saying: you are mine. The twist! The erotica! The intrigue!

The end...................

Jamie Lake!!!!! That was simply mean! but now, yeah, definitely catching up with this series. I cannot let this go the way I got left out!

When the World Falls Apart Will They Stick By Your Side?

:a Guest Post by Jamie Lake

There have been times in my life when I've been through many challenges, when I thought the world was falling apart and no one was there for me. I wondered aloud if the chips really did fall and I lost everything, would the people I love, really stick by my side. Knock on wood, I never have to experience that but being the evil author that I am, I decide to put my protagonist Peter, from my book series Bad Boy, through hell and back to find out.

It's bad enough that Peter is hiding the fact that he's a nude massage therapist for men at night and a kindergarten teacher by day but when his school finds out, when his roommate and the world finds out, who will stick by him? He certainly hopes Chip, a cop, who he's dating will but how much can one man take when not only his career but the life of his son is being put to the test? Peter hopes that Chip is the type of guy who'll never leave him but the more that he goes through, the more he starts to question how long their love will last.

I certainly hope that you don't go through anything that Peter goes through but trials and tribulations, no matter how horrible they are, are the best way to tell who really loves you and who'll never leave your side.

I’ll be real honest with you… I was on the fence about this book the whole time I was reading it. There were things I liked about it & things I didn't like. I say the very last part in this book did it for me and sucked me in!
Peter is a young kindergarten teacher. He loves what he does…
But… Loving something so much can only get you so far.
He’s seriously in need of money. The job he loves so much… Doesn’t pay him enough…
His living arrangements are less than desirable. His roommate is kind of mean.
His family could care less about him.
Peter is just having a rough time right now.
Peter has been taking to an older man on Craigslist for some time now. Feeling bad about himself and the situation he is in with money. He decides to throw caution to the wind & finally meet up with this older gentleman.
Right away Peter was feeling Tony. The sex scene between them was really hot! I liked it a lot… Except for one thing which I will get to later!
At the end of the hot sex… Tony hands Peter money.
It was much need money Peter needed… But he felt funny taking it. He didn’t want to take it. He went into this thinking it was only sex..just to relieve some stress that he was having.
Thinking this was a one time thing
Peter let it go. He was able to buy the kids in his class much-needed snacks & art supplies.
He meets on of his students parent. Chip. A police detective. He confident and cocky. And he knows he want Peter!
He makes Peter nervous. In a good way. It’s been far to long since Peter had a relationship.
Feeling somewhat better but not by much… The school’s principal comes in and drops a big bomb on him!
Peter opens his mouth and really puts his foot in it.
Now he really need to come up with money or else he will be homeless!
He thinks about what he can do…& comes up with the nude erotic massage… Thanks to Tony the money he gave him. It gave Peter the little bit of confidence he needed to do it.
The story picks up from there. One more very hot massage (Brad)!!
The ending was rather fast… Leaves off in a mini cliffhanger… But nothing to bad.
There were a couple of things that bother me about this short story.
The first thing that bothered me was when Peter & Tony hooked up… There was absolutely no protection used!!!
That right there is just crazy!!! He thought about it… but just didn’t care!
I mean.. This is the first time they ever meet!!
Nope… Didn’t like that!
And…
I didn’t like how there were kids in this book.
I mean…I know he’s a kindergarten teacher and all…
But… I could have done without the kids… It just didn’t seem right with the whole erotic thing going on in this book.
I’m not really a fan of the whole mini series thing. Especially if you have to buy each short story at 2.99! I can’t do it… That’s just to much money for only 100 or less pages.
This book was ok… I would read the other book in this series… Only if it was in a box set & priced appropriately.

So, thus far I have read the first two books of this series. I liked this one more than the next book. In this story we have Peter, who is living on his own and trying to make ends meet. Though, his absolutely loves his daytime job, it doesn't pay much and isn't very stable. There is always worry they might completely shut down his department. He teaches/takes care of kids. He uses his own money to buy them treats and such. Most of them, this is their highlight of the day. They love Peter and Peter loves them. But as an adult, he has bills and rent to pay, and such. Though, he is from a wealthy family, he had left them behind to pursue his own dreams and live his life how he wants too. So, he sucks it up and does what he has to make ends meet.

So, he stumbles upon a nighttime job. He meets men on an online site and give them a massage, an erotic, massage. Well, his second customer he gets carried away and has sex with him. Which really is bad. Not naughty bad, just bad. Then it gets better? He meets a wonderful man. A detective. He is a father of one of his students. But he works at taking out prostitution rings. So, Peter fears telling Chip, that is new Beau's name, about his nighttime job. So, he doesn't. Plus, if he doesn't sleep with his customers, it is not exactly illegal... and he does make a lot of cash this way...

At the end of this book, Chip comes over for their date and finds a (mobster?) guy there, the customer whom Peter had slept with. He is an aggressive man, who wants Peter to 'work' for him. Be more like a paid convenient fuck boy. What will happen....

This was a short quick read that was ok. Peter is a kindergarten teacher who loves his job he also a masseuse by night, it's not his dream job but with budget cuts he is giving men sensual massages to men under a secret name on a website that he sat up. He meets Tony who appears to be a very sexy, attractive, well endowed man who helps manage a casino in Vegas. Peter is very attracted to him and definitely gave him everything the man wanted. After their sexual encounter Peter wars with himself about going beyond a massage and receiving money for it. Peter becomes uncomfortable with the man because Tony's demeanor seems to change as he leaves and questions what this man really was wanting from him. After his encounter with Tony he meets the father of one of his students Detective Chip Johnson, who is a very handsome, sexy, sweet man who Peter immediately becomes attracted to, but despite Chip's advances to get together Peter is hesitant because of his side job. He didn't know what Chip would do or think of him if he knew what he did on the side. They eventually agreed to meet at Chip's house for the evening. Tony arrives a short while before Chip does to give Peter a proposition at the casino along with a lot of other benefits. Peter not really sure if that was what he wants to do because of the possibility with something starting with Chip. As Tony was about to leave, Chip arrives. Chip and Tony know each and Tony was cool and calm, but made Peter very nervous. The book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I just wanted more of it.

I refuse to rate it. It does not feel like a whole book, so...
I am quite angry about this book. It was more or less ok, though Peter Davidson, kindergarten teacher during the day and erotic masseuse at nights, strikes me as being a bit scatty, too naïve for his own good and quite flighty: He keeps falling for all the men he is “servicing”. That does not sound very professional, does it? Anyway, it was an easy read when it suddenly ended in the middle of the action. In media res, as the scholars would say.
I am not a huge fan of cliff-hangers, but I can tolerate them if there is some kind of previous conclusion. There is a story told and some intrigue about what it is going to happen next. What I do not like is being interrupted in the middle of the story, knowing that if I want to find out where it was all going I have to buy the next book. I feel cheated. I know that next book will do the same, so I’ll have to continue buying books for as long as the writer feels like, and sorry, I won’t. Serials are ok if you know what you are getting into. But I would like to be notified on advance that the “book” is just the introduction to a non-concluded story. Because that is how it felt like. A long first chapter for whatever it is going to happen next. Not my thing, sorry!

I loved the personal struggle that Peter experienced throughout this first episode. He's passionate about his job, more importantly his students, and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his art program running. He is also very attracted to the sexy men who are seeking out his massage services and has a hard time deciding how he feels about his reaction to them.

At the same time, he's getting tired of empty relationships. When an opportunity opens up for him to get to know the attractive and charming parent of one of his students, it makes the decision to start an erotic massage business even more complicated.

Sexy, sensual and vividly erotic, with complex and engaging characters, and a thrilling story line. This is the first installment in a series and not a complete story, but the exciting ending will leave readers looking for more!

This was a very fast, easy read, that definitely left me wanting more.
Peter is a all around good guy that wants to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged kids he teaches. Due to budget cuts, he's forced to take a second job. But it's no ordinary one. He becomes an erotic masseuse, praying that the principal and no parents find out.
Detective Chip is a parent of one of Peters students, and he's made it crystal clear that he's interested in Peter. He's hot, confident and very easy going.
Peter kind of seems like a lost little boy at times. He's got a job he loves, but makes next to nothing at, a roommate he hates, and no family support. Plus not only does he have 1 guy interested in him, he has 2.
Book 1 leaves off with what I'm sure is the beginning of a love triangle, but I can only guess since I haven't read it yet. There are a couple of very steamy scenes in this story, and I imagine there will be more.
Looking very forward to seeing where Jamie takes these guys in this series!
