Sophie Waters’ life was turned upside down when her mother passed away from cancer but the news her father and aunt delivered to her after the passing was far more devastating and unbelievable. ‘You’re a witch doctor, a healer, and you’re needed here to help protect the supernatural inhabitants of Mystery Springs.’
‘Like hell,’ was her response but the moment the witches unlocked her powers there was no way she could deny the truth. And the moment she met her vampire prince there was no way she could leave Mystery Springs even if she wanted to.
From the moment the powerful and terrifying Giovanni Mancuso spotted the spunky girl in ripped jeans, green cotton hoodie with her jet black hair in a ponytail and her green eyes covered by black cat glasses he was lost. She was not like the other girls that frequented his nightclub. She was different on so many levels. The moment his eyes connected with hers his soul knew she was important.
She was his soul mate, his first love, a love lost centuries ago. Only she was different; stronger, powerful. Sophie and Giovanni explore their feelings while they attempt to uncover the secret behind acts of war on the supernatural people of Mystery Springs. Together they will face off against dream assassins, death, ghosts, gods, and their own families to save the small Colorado town and find a path back into the safety of each other’s arms.
Past lives collide in this paranormal romance with mythological consequences.
**Please note this is a new adult paranormal novel and contains adult subject matter of sexual nature and profanity.
Jami M Brumfield has a passion for the paranormal, supernatural, and mythological worlds for most of her life. She believes there is a kernel of truth in every story and loves playing detective to discover what that hidden truth is. She has written most of her life. She started with poems and short stories, then graduated to journalism working for online websites like examiner.com. It was only a natural progression that her love of writing and her passion for the unknown would combine. Lone Wolf Rising the first book of the Winters series is the product of that union.
Jami Brumfield is one of my favorite authors. I read her previous books and I fell in love with them. “Lone Wolf Rising” and “Vampire Princess Rising”. The books are paranormal romance my favorite genre and absolutely amazing. “THE WITCH’S VAMPIRE” is her new release. I bought the book and started to read it the night before last night and I had to finish it.
The witch’s vampire exceeded my expectations. The plot is way more complicated, the characters are amazing and very likable, the roller coaster of the ups and downs breathtaking. I just can’t imagine now any books by Jami Brumfield without a hot!!! Hot!!! Hot!!! Vampire, that will take any woman’s breathe away, and make her fall completely and utterly in love with him.
I am absolutely stunned with this author’s level of imagination. Sophie Waters is the lead female character. She is witty, smart, unafraid and unselfish. She cares about others and their wellbeing before she worries about herself. A completely unselfish woman ur…witch. I love the stand she takes toward her sister Chelsea and her father Rafe Waters. But most of all I love her relationship, and the hot romance between Sophie and Gio. I am really hooked with Brumfield’s style of writing and I know that I will be reading every book of this author.
This is a book of romance, intensity, suspense, a touch of mythology and sizzling passion!!! between Sophie and Giovanni Mancuso. I would recommend this book to every person that loves Paranormal / Romance, suspense, thrill and ready to meet some very interesting unforgettable characters. Jami Brumfield this book is great!!! Can’t wait for your next release.
This is the third book I have read by Jami Brumfield and I am not disappointed in the first book of the Mystery Springs Series. The characters are great and there is a lot of paranormal mystery going on. By the end you have connected, have answers but still want to know what is going to happen in the lives of these characters. Can't wait for more....
Sophie finds out she is a witch doctor. Trying to drown her sorrows she sets foot in a bar owned by a vampire Prince, Gio. The town is full of supernatural who are descended from the Gods. The Gods wage war on the town in order to get back to their planet. Sophie seems to be standing in their way with Gio at her side. It was an interesting book.
I received this book from the author in return for an honest review. I am a part of the Review Team @ The Paranormal Bookshelf.

This book really surprised me when I picked it up. The first few pages I was confused but after a got through them, the book seemed to just open up and intrigue me more and more. I think a lot of that had to do with the main male leading character Gio. He is definately one of those characters I can see people falling for especially with his old school charm. The leading lady however led me to mixed emotions. One minute I loved her spunky nature and the next I was wondering why she was so _________(can't find the word without spoiler) in love. I did enjoy the other members of the plot and thought the author did a good job creating this little town.
The ideas the author have make me want to come back to read the next book in the series. I also have to comment on the ending. Now I like cliffhangers and fully ended books, but this one felt very rushed which was another drawback for me. Besides that it was a wonderful read. I give the book 4 out of 5 stars based on all of this.
This was my first journey into the mind of Ms. Brumfield, and what a journey it was! We had witches, vamps, Greek Gods and just about every type of paranormal creature you could want. I really connected with witch Sophie and her hunk of vampire hotness Gio and found myself rooting for the two of them. I loved the plot twist on the origins of the Gods and the supernatural creatures them selves. I look forward to reading the next one in this hot new series and would recommend it to my friends.
This book opens with the cruelest moment. Sophie has returned for the death of her mother. She plans to return to med school until she finds out she is a witch doctor and has to take her mother's place. Everyone is so adamant that she remains and then they treat her awfully. This is a huge hurdle for the reader to get over. The romance is intriguing but the tension is so farfetched. The gods trying to get home attacking the town. The factions in the town are so hateful to each other. The saving grace is Giovanni and Sophie rising above it all.
Gio and Sophie met at his night club the day she found out she was a witch. Gio was instantly b attracted to Sophie and she feels drawn to him as well. Only too save the town from some crazy God's wanting to get back home. And to finally realize, they are true mates. Which is a rare occasion. To mix a witch and a vampire has never happened before. But I think they will change it all
This was really good, up until the last couple of chapters, them it felt rushed. There are a lot of unanswered questions, and no sign of the second book! So my question now is...what the heck happens next???
Not sure what's up with the cover art. The cover I read looked totally different. Anyway I would have rated it higher but there was quite a few typos in addition to an over abundance of lore and mythology. These things took away from the over all plot of the story.
