"Through a combination of tight, well-structured plots and fully realized characters, Chesser has emerged as one of the top indie writers in the business." Joe McKinney - Two time Bram Stoker award winner and author of the Dead World Series. Warpath, Book 7 in the bestselling Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse series begins the day after Mortal, Book 6, ends. In the crucible that is the zombie apocalypse, Cade Grayson, father, husband, and former Delta Force operator has forged new friendships and tempered old ones. In those same metaphorical flames, he has seen blood spilled, loved ones perish, and dealt his own brand of justice. Now, three weeks after a world-wide viral outbreak has left the United States in ruins and transformed most of her population into walking corpses hungering for the flesh of the living, he finds himself at an Army Forward Operating Base on the outskirts of Grand Junction, Colorado. With only a set of GPS coordinates to go by, Cade must deliver his small family and a trio of young people from the distant outpost, across hundreds of miles of Utah's sun-baked high desert, to the promise of safety the random-looking string of numbers represent. Meanwhile, eagerly awaiting their arrival at the Eden compound, Duncan Winters goes about the grim task of burying the recently fallen. With each shovelful of dirt he deposits on the bodies of kin and friends, his insatiable desire to strike back at the people responsible tugs him ever closer to the edge of insanity. With the dead hunting and moving in herds of ever-increasing size, will Cade and his group survive the running of the gauntlet? Will Duncan see the light and accept that he truly needs Cade's special set of skills in order to find and bring those responsible for the recent murders and abductions to justice? Or will he give in to burning desires, shirk the old adage that revenge is a dish best served cold, and go it alone, charging blindly headlong down the Warpath to certain disaster? Come along and find out who has what it takes to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. "Unlike other authors, even some of the big names, Chesser understands female characters as well as male ... Believe me when I say his writing is top-notch." Terra King, horror and paranormal eBook reviewer. Examiner.com, Las Vegas.

SOMETHINGS NEVER END, THE BAD GUYS AND THE APOCALYPSE

A great book in a great series and still going strong. With one threat possibly done for, there is still another threat out there. This one is getting smarter as days go by and Shawn Chesser has made us more invested in Cade, his family, Duncan, Daymon and everyone else they hold dear. What more can be said except on to "Ghosts" Book #8.

Moving; tense

I think the righting is great and I learn a lot of new vocabulary, the only thing I would like to have experienced differently is the bad people in all 7 books should be punished on a scale according to their crimes and believe many exscaped their punishment too easily. (This is Marc Passmore not Rosann). Thank you for the hour’s of enjoyment. I wish I could write like you for I truly believe if my education was as strong as my stories and ideas my books could be on paper not just wasted inside my noggin.

Good series! Got me hooked on Kindle unlimited, now I pay.

I have enjoyed this evolving story of Cades struggle between his duty to his country, and the love of his family. Most people this would be a "no brainer", and they would move on, but not so with Cade.

Sometimes I find it difficult to review a book in a series without spoiling the ones that came before it. But I am going to give it my best shot this time because if you have NOT read the previous books in this series, “Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse”, starting with “ Trudge”, you should. Stop what you’re doing here and just start with book one. Otherwise you are missing out on some great adventures some truly memorable characters. Hopefully you have read the previous books and are ready for this one, seventh in the series.
Only eighteen days in from the outbreak of the Omega virus that caused the dead to walk again, Cade, his family, and some familiar tagalongs once again find themselves at an impromptu military base. Feeling anxious behind razor wire again, the group heads out to link up with old friends and try to find a secure place to call home, if only for a while. Cade is a civilian now and has to rely on himself and his family group for survival against the dead, instead of battle-hardened soldiers. This makes for those exciting, heart-stopping moments which this author has now become known for throughout this series. Yet another fast-paced, adrenaline-soaked ride through your worst nightmares. Add a dash of levity here and there, a much needed chuckle after a spine tingling moment and you have a very real bunch of characters that you just wish you could crack a beer with. As with all the previous books, this one creates a ‘movie in your head’ that does not disappoint, except to wish it would not end! Stay Frosty, friends and watch your six, the zombies seem a tiny bit smarter this time…..

A great story that ties up allot of the previous book story lines

The main character Cade is this super Delta fighter who takes it to the monsters and bad guys alike. He's an honorable warrior but also quite human in faults. The supporting characters are more human like normal people who are willing to do the hard thing and fight for survival, not give up. The bad guys are really good at being bad and you won't be disappointed as they too have a tale as the story unfolds. If you haven't read any of the books yet, I highly recommend starting at the first. You won't be disappointed. Lots of military like things which I don't know much about but seem to make sense. Happy reading!

This is the latest release from Shawn Chesser, Warpath, and WOW, what a book. Now, while this is a zombie book, they kind of take a background seat as to my mind this is a tale of revenge, pure and simple. It starts off right after the end of Mortal and then takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions as we get to see how people react to the loss of family and loved one's, and the consequences of taking the life of a living person for the first time, even if they are trying to kill you.

This is the strongest book in the series so far and I'm really looking forward to seeing what direction the next one will take us, so until then “stay frosty”.

Another thrill ride

I couldn't be happier with this installment of the#STZA series. The drawback, well it would have to be the wait for the next book. you can't help but fall in love with the characters. They evolve with the story seamlessly. At this point we've lost some good ones along the way, but gained new and up and coming friends as well. Shawn draws you in and puts you right there in the melee. Kudos to all who have enjoyed the series so far. if this is the first review you've read I sure hope you check the series from the beginning.

What a shame

I truly loved to read all the previous books but the end of this book was horrible. Not the story mind you, that was and is great. But,someone royally screwed up the editing on this installment which ruined the book for me. I'm mad that I played for this installment and will be even more upset if th we next two I already played for are messed up as well. There was whole chunks of the story gone, just cutout and replaced with double pages. Shame on you for asking anyone to pay for something that you don't care about enough to make sure it was done correctly. Give us outer money back!!!!

Just rewards.

Shawn did his Thing with this series. Warpath doesn't disappoint. Everyone gets a chance to "get some" here. I hated finishing Warpath, but it ended very well and let us know that the real threat...the Z's, will be coming back front and center.
I've rapped with Shawn on FB many times. he's as cool and personable as they come. he's never blew off a inbox message either. Ok, I'm done tooting his horn. all that to say, check him and this series out. "stay frosty"

Shawn is such a great writer. He definitely knows how to keep a reader on the edge of their seat. And when justice is served to the bad guys, I just melt. I'm not evil. I just believe in people receiving what they deserve. And if they are evil, well...:) Shawn created a great character when he created Cade. I just have to follow my hero to the end. So I am off to the next book just like everyone else who reads this series.

Loved this one as all before it, can't wait for next one

great ending, too bad Logan and Gus and Jordan died but I guess some characters have to be sacrificed. Can't wait for next book and I'm so glad Shawn IS continuing with the story, it doesn't feel finished yet!

I had a little bit of a hard time getting into this one compared to all the other books in the series. Don't know why, I really liked it, maybe I need to take a break from Zombies for a while, NOT !!! I did read another book before I read this one. I can't wait to see what happens next , looking forward to the next book....

Zombie Literature

As zombie literary series go, I like this series. Cade Grayson and his crew continue to level the playing field during the zombie apocalypse ... I thought book 7 was excellent and moved faster than a few of the others. Keep them coming Shawn Chesser, on to book 8!

The next in his series "Surviving The Zombie Apocalypse" is awesome. The characters sing out for justice and in Chesser style of good over evil it delivers. Onto the next book.....Ghosts
