"Quicksilver" is the story of Damiene and Piers.

Oh man! I need to thrift/find more Ms Mittermeyer books! SO GOOD.

Our H is a bored billionaire/ gambler/ mercenary, affectionately known as Quicksilver. Recently, he has been bored with his life, that is until he rescues a blonde angel from a car trying to run her down. He tracks her down to a casino, and soon introduces himself to her. She is wary, he is persistent. As she sees the men chasing her in her motel, the H propositions she stay with him for a while, and she agrees. They start falling in love immediately- have crackling chemistry- and are obsessed with each other.
The H does not let the h go anywhere LOL. In the parties, he tails her, getting jealous of all his friends when she looks at them; at the casino, he chases her to the bathroom LMAO. It was sweet, and kinda crazy at the same time...I LIKED IT.
The h hides her secret for a long time, but after they confess their feelings for each other, she opens up. Bad guy is out to get them, and they race against time to expose the culprit, thwarting attempts on their life. But the enemy is a friend in disguise, and their blind trust could cost one of them their life..

Very enjoyable and thrilling read.

I have owned these books for many years and love to pull them out for a reread every now and then. I find the lack of over explicit sex scenes refreshing.
Well written and plays out superbly with very entertaining and likeable main and secondary characters.
Love Piers and Damiene as a couple and the whole story with them both looking for the same killer is intriguing.
Piers is rich, handsome, clever and very bored with his life, until he rescues a very intriguing damsel in distress, who then ghosts him.
Damiene is on the hunt for her brothers killer, dallying in casinos listening and hoping for information on her one clue.
Intrigue and close betrayal, whilst falling in love, make this an entertaining read.
Piers two friends, Dolph (Frozen Idol) and Bear (Black Frost) feature in their own books which I also own.
A pity these were never put into ebook format.
