The 2nd book to “The Ride” in The Hell’s Disciples MC Series

It's a constant battle between us now. I give, and he just takes, and we can't go on like this.

Saying that we've been through a lot is an understatement of a lifetime. After everything that we had overcome, we were here, together and alive.

In the aftermath of all the devastation we had endured, I find myself fighting a new, yet different battle with the one person who came to save me because he loved me that much. This is the man that now fights me.

He's not the same man since my attack and I don't think that man will ever come back to me. He is becoming my worst nightmare, but I will not give up on us, no matter what he tries to do...

I want to hate her as much as I love her, and I'm willing to take from her 'till she has nothing left to give, 'till it ends up killing us both.

I push her away, but I keep pulling her back 'cause I don't know how to fucking let her go. I love her so much, it physically hurts. I can't look at her, I can't touch her and I can't even stand to fuck her. I can't give her anything anymore, and I hate myself for it.

I keep her here, knowing I don't deserve her, but I'm gonna keep hurting her. I know I'm gonna lose her and she's gonna hate me, but I'll be damned if I can let her be without me, no matter how bad this shit will get...
What do you do when you just can't find your way back from so much pain? You share it, and you will make it hurt.

18+ Due to dirty fucking language, hot sex, and a little bit of drugs and alcohol!

I think I loved this book more the second time around than the first. Again the author pulled those emotions from deep inside me as I struggled to understand Tank's obsession with losing Lilly. I love it when an author makes me really feel and this book does that in spades.

First Read July 2014
To prepare for book 2, I went back and read book 1 and rediscovered that I really liked the story of Tank and Lilly. This book picks up where book 1 left off. We see Tank suffering from something like PTSD. He's reliving the scene where Lilly is shot, dies and is brought back to life. He's suffering excruciating guilt, OTT jealously and possessiveness and handling those issues with liquor and drugs. It was a heart wrenching story of Tank's deep love and his inability to cope with the possibility of losing Lilly again. We see them struggle from the dark side back to a sound, solid love. But the journey was hard and I was emotionally drained walking that journey with them. Lilly is a strong woman who loves her man but realizes when she's got to get tough to get them through. Some readers will say she should have walked out, however I was cheering her on because it was clear how much she loved Tank and also how much he loved her. I think the author's writing style matured with this second book and although there were a few noted editing errors, it was not overwhelming. I recommend this book to other biker/MC romance lovers. But be aware the book is more about Tank and Lilly's relationship than the workings of the MC.

I loved her first book. I even wrote a review talking about how much I loved the fact that Tank didn't cheat on his girl. She killed me in this book. It totally broke my heart. It was a great read again, but just by reading the book blog, I knew it was gonna be bad. I tried to prepare myself. I didn't even want to read it because I loved how the first one ended, it did end abruptly, but at least it ended in a good place. I knew this one was going to crush my good feelings I had about Tank. I could not stand him. He was a self centered ahole! He did redeem himself in the very end, but I really could have done without that one moment in the book that changed everything for my feelings for him. If you read the first one, you have got to read this one. I hope we see more of the other club members. Even though this was one of those love/hate reads, it was never the less a great read.

This review contains spoilers. Please only read if you have read this book already or are just nosey like me and look for spoilers ;)

Okay, I am calming down to write this so be patient please. The H is an asshole and treats her like absolute shut for over half the book. What she walks in on in HER office is unforgivable. I don't care if he has PTSD or just an attitude problem, there is no excuse for his behavior AT ALL! I loved when she left him and I don't think he deserved to get her back. How could she still want him after everything? I mean come on! I just hate the way she forgave him like she could get past the fucking ( if it happened, but something obviously did just from the situation) as long as he didn't kiss the club whore?!?! Seriously?? Just no.

** Review of book one and two **

Lilly Cruz grew up in the MC life. She left after she felt betrayed by the boy she loved. She didn’t blame her father Low for having him put in the ground. He betrayed her family, he betrayed her and that gets you a bullet to the head. Her father has never blamed her for leaving and he has never asked her to come back until now. After the loss of her mother, her Dad needs her home. Packing up Lil finds herself back at the clubhouse among the men she loves the most. Walking into church she beams at the familiar faces, the men who helped raise her, the men who loved her and worshiped her mother Lucy. As she scans the room, blue eyes catch her line of sight. Needing to stand tall, she acts like the new addition doesn’t affect her but she has never laid eyes on anyone like him. Tank is his name ….

Tank has heard of her but sitting in church he never thought she would come strolling in and mold herself into his club president. Before this moment he has never needed anything but the club that he is VP of, his bike, and the occasional warm body in his bed for the time it takes to satisfy his needs …. The woman who just walked through those doors just changed his life.

These two books are one heck of a story. The Ride did carry on a little long for me which is why I gave it a 4 star rating. I did feel as if there should have been more detail to the chaos that was being built up throughout the pages concerning Draco and his crew. Unless I missed something I was interested in more detail of Lucy’s murder. What I really did love was that Jaci took the time to give great description of the characters we will continue to find running on the pages and further releases. I was able to make a list of who was who for easy reference if needed as the series continues. When you read as many books as Tracy and I do it’s a must!

I am very interested in a few family members stories including Gin and Stitch. I loved Lilly’s best friends, California (love the name) and Peaches. There is an amazing friendship there and another love story woven into the read between Peaches and Gin.

The “hard” MC story is rated PG. If you love MC but do NOT like the gruesome detail that some depict this series is a keeper for you. I would say there are no triggers in these reads either making this a perfect click.

Crash and Burn moves onto Lil and Tank’s hardships after the “incident.” This is a shorter read but necessary as it moves through AFTER …… (no spoilers). Frustrating as it was to read it was a brilliant move on Jaci’s part. Everything is not hunky-dory. That’s all Im saying … however by the end of book two your heart will be in one piece and you will leave with a smile.

Click these two books up and immerse yourself into the family. You wont regret it. Thank you Jaci for the chance to read and review. Im moving on to the next two. I was thrilled to see all of the current releases and new one to come appear on my Kindle! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Okay so I just finished the second book to the Hell’s Disciples MC series.

So the second picked right up where the first left off. You have Lilly and Tank which are together however he can’t seem to move on from the night Lilly was shot. He has something like PTSD. Lilly seems to moving on from it and moving on with her life the best she can. But Tank just pressed her to far away and broke her to the point that she can’t take it anymore. So Lilly takes off ends things. During their time apart Tank is trying to put his life back together which is really hard work and he wants to win Lilly back. Lilly however finds out she’s pregnant and trying to make sense of everything and figure out what to do about everything. Tank finally wins Lilly back and they end up having a baby boy together.

I gave this a 3 star because I did love the story line and I was hooked on knowing what’s going to happen. But I wasn't happy with the ending it just was to rushed.

I’m pretty sure this is the last book for the series because of how much info was put into the epilogue. However I would have loved if the author would have created a third book and use the materials from her epilogue with more details. Because I’m left with a lot of unanswered questions. But you did get to see Lilly and Hank finally getting their happily ever after.

The epilogue to me was really rushed. There was so much that happen and I didn't get details how everything came about. Like Lilly’s dad he is out of jail now when did that happen? There was no mention of Lilly and Tank getting married so did they or didn't they? Because Tank had said that they were going to fix her last name to match his. Never did really find out what really happen between Tank and what’s her name Twix. And what happen to her after that day.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants, cussing (sometimes I cannot help myself) and a possible full on recap. I in no way want to ruin anyone’s book reading experience so please read my words with caution.

It has been six months since Roman "Tank" witnessed his woman take three shots in the back by her not dead (but now dead) boyfriend. Each night he relives the event in a nightmare. Tank is acting President of the Hells Disciples since Low turned himself into the law. He drowns his guilt with booze. He's desperate to love her, hate her, keep her and push her away.

"How do you love someone so fucking much, and want to hurt them all the time?"

Lilly "Lil" Cruz survived being shot multiple times. The little badass survived and is taking her second chance at life. She started teaching an online college course and is tutoring. It is not the in the classroom professor job in Seattle she wants, but for now it will do. Gin finally asked Peaches to be his Old Lady and wife so she's helping plan a big biker wedding. Her father Low turned himself in for killing Josh and signed over all club assets to protect Lil. Lil struggles daily with Tank. She knows he hates himself, but is smart enough to know he's the only one who can save himself at this point.

"He's not the same man I met all those months ago. There's something missing in him now, and all I want is for him to come back to me. I need him to move on with me."

Not going to lie.. Book was fucking painful until about 80%.. Epilogue this time!

Cliffhanger – no (book 2 series)

When I think I've read everything that can be ridiculous I am still surprised ...
Okay, this is an MC book, but even in MC books you expect worthwhile characters. That said, this book is rubbish. The story is ridiculous, the writing is horrible, the development is poor, the mistakes are absurd. I do not understand how someone who claims to be a writer would have the courage to shit such a crap .. So the characters ?! We have a big weak, selfish, abusive, loser, pig. So the supposed love of his life is kidnapped, beaten, tortured and what does he do ??? HE GETS SO DESPERATE THAT HE WILL FUCK A WHORE IN THE h's OFFICE???? AND PATHETIC HEROIN?! Is it alright SINCE YOU DON'T KISS THE WHORE BECAUSE IT'S VERY PERSONAL ????WTF!! I hope the heroine prays every night so that nothing more bad happens in their relationship because we already know how he will respond to that isn't it ?! Surely this goes to the list of the most absurd things I've ever read! Please have mercy, if you don't know how to do a good work then DON'T do it and spare such shit!

Tank has become acting president. He's having serious PTSD after Lil's kidnapping - making them both miserable. He's full of anger, fear, and starts resenting Lil. I'm surprised Lil stayed with him as long as she did. Lil is a strong, independent woman and doesn't take crap from anyone. Tank became pretty controlling, possessive, and just crazy. He's drinking and drugging, slipping from his Prez duties, neglecting the club. Lil has her BFF Peaches who is getting married to Gin, but she makes a tough decision. Tank has to get himself together, reclaim the woman he loves, and put the club back together. I loved the epilogue with Tank and Lilly.

The plot for this book was so much more interesting than the first book. Which makes me glad I read it!

Tank became such an entertaining mess and I thought Lil handled it exactly as she should (and in a believable way). So, good for her.

My only problem was that I wanted him to suffer more for all the suffering he put her through. The book could've used some more dramatic scenes during them finding their way back to each other.

In the end, I got what I wanted as a reader because they have a HEA and Tank is back to his awesome self.

🗑 Got to chapter 13 and gave up. I read reviews of a strong h … ummm where… she’s a doormat from the start to end. It’s a painful / cringey, sad read of a h who holds on to the H and puts up with his shit bc she loves him. She leaves him but spends all her time thinking of him and goes back to him anyway for the baby 🙄after all the shit he did to her including getting caught with a naked woman and getting a bj but he can’t get it up. Probably a preference thing - Not looking to read a book about a fictional heroine who uses a baby as an excuse and doesn’t respect herself 🤮

I could not put this down read it so quickly.

The continuation of Tank and Lil's story was utter genius and I was so glad I continued on with the series.

I really enjoyed the extreme emotional capabilities of the characters. Wow just Wow.

The story as a whole was written so beautifully I just cannot comprehend the emotional turmoil of the characters and the intelligence it took to write it so brilliantly, so triple gold stars to the author Jaci J this is a winner.

All up I thoroughly enjoyed this story it was a huge difference from the first in the series I just felt that the author had grown, had evolved, and given us a different side to the romance genre a different side to the emotional involvement of all the bad stuff of relationships and how they affect the characters and set them out to grow that much more.

This continues Tank and Lil's story. Tank is having a hard time adjusting to Lil's attack. He's in his own world of fear & hatred and it is crippling him. At times, I wanted to wring his neck (yes, I know it's a fictional character) to smarten him up. This is the bulk of the story until he finally comes around and realizes (with a little help from the club) that he will lose her if he doesn't wise up.

From ass to hero

Tank can't get over what happened to Lil. His nightmares are a constant and the only way past them is booze and coke. Lil is struggling to help and reassure Tank he wasn't to blame for what happened. He pushes and pushes her away finally cheating and breaking her heart. Her friend gives him a wake-up call and the fight is on to get her back. Lil is struggling and has a surprise in store.

Family changes us.

Wow, the mental turmoils described to us were summed up as a form of PTSD which makes a lot of sense. Tank is such an unlikable character for a good portion of this book but, like the first book, the end chapters redeem him. I had a few laughs at the author’s descriptions, in Tank’s own words, of pregnancy, visiting the Doctor’s waiting room and his daughter’s antics! Very funny!

Really enjoyed it.

Tank and Lil book 2

I didn't like this one as much as the first. I think that it could have just as easily been one book. Now with that said I thought the author did a great job at painting a vivid picture of the aftermath and the crap they went through to reach the other side.

Grammatically better than book 1, but still too many. That is still distracting. Story line is good. More precise, in depth discussion of the club may make it more enjoyable.

Hell's Disciples MC (2)

This book is a follow up/continuation of book 1. You really do need to read book1 first. I wasn't expecting this. It is very violent, and basically not nice. Tank isn't coping with all that happened, he takes it out on everyone, including Lil. Nobody names of but he has PTSD. He is barely functioning, drinking all the time, barely sleeping, nightmares, and flying into a rage all the time. He is the Disciples President and things are going bad fast. Something has to happen, and it does. Series just gets better
