❝People die, but words live on forever.❞ →When Winnie Indigo discovers that Brody Casen, has dropped a black book she picks it up and when she realizes that it is Brody’s diary, she can’t help but feel powerful. She can single handed take down, one of Westview high’s most popular boys, but with her first attempt at blackmail Winnie already finds her abilities faltering, because the more she stays with Brody the more she realizes that the only thing that matters more than this book is their love.
This story was so cute and funny! It was addicting as well and when I first started reading this I ended up staying up until 5am. I just had to know what happens next all the time and I got so sad when I found out that I finished it. :(
The story is a typical badboy falling for the goodgirl story. It's about a girl named Winnie who finds Brody's (the badboy) diary/journal and then she gets to know all his secrets. Due to the book, Winnie feels more powerful around the badboy and starts blackmail him. But the blackmailing doesn't happen during the whole book, it's a lot of other events that aren't even related to Brody's diary/journal that takes place in the book. I admit I even forgot about the diary/journal after a while.
Troublemaker was totally worth reading and definitely a must read to people who likes cliché/badboy falling for the goodgirl - stories.
Fell in love with the original version, though the writing was a bit crappy. The re-written one was written (gramatically) better, but lacked climax unlike the original one which had a lot of twists. I wish the author should've just fixed the original one and didn't change the plot. Or maybe just mixed it, so the readers can indulge in reading it longer. It's disappointing though that the author won't be writing any sequel to the team Brinnie. I got bored upon reading the first chapter of book 2 (which was now about Isaac and Tori's lovestory) and found myself skipping to the parts where team Brinnie would be mentioned, so I just quitted reading it.
I thought that although this was a cliché, it was really good. I loved Winnie and Brody's relationship. Though, I still feel bad for Tyler because he was left alone. Very interesting journey for these two
It's really hard for me to give this a 3. Faye Aden's story is really good but the grammar is horrendous. The first version I can let slide because she was a teenager. However, the rewrite was written by an adult Faye who seems to be still missing a lot of the grammatical basics. There's also the issue of using words that don't exist the in the English language and of course spelling things incorrectly. I took issue with this because Faye stated she edited the second version. There are errors on every page, so it doesn't sit well with me that this has been edited. I know she would like it to be published but were that a possibility it would need a lot of work. Emphasis on A LOT.
Going back to the story itself... I clearly enjoyed it enough to read both versions. I definitely preferred some of the first version over the second. The pacing in the first was slower but that seemed to work better for the material. It had more of a build up than the sudden transformation of Brody's obsession turned to love, for Winnie in version 2. I think a third revision would be appropriate and Faye could really polish up the grammar, misspellings, etc. while working to combine the best of both versions 1 and 2.
4 stars. It was a nice easy read for someone who has little time; which made me laugh more times than I can count. I went on to read the revised version after the original and fell in love with Winnie and Brody's story all over again. About to start the third and I have to say Troublemaker is my favourite of the two so far and hope to see it get published into a hardback novel one day.
Plot: Winnie only had two friends Amy and Ellis. Elliot, Ellis's brother, use to date Winnie, but they're just friends now. Elliot's interest in Winnie got noticed by Brody and his friends, soon took an interest in her. Brody tells his friends she's off limits. Tyler one of Brody's friends started to date Ellis, Winnie's friend, but soon broke things off. To get back at Tyler, Ellis started to go after Brody knowing Winnie liked him. Tyler didn't like that so Winnie and he made a deal that they would pretend to date, but soon actually started to date. Brody and she got closer and soon realised their feelings for each other. When Tyler found out he was hurt. Ellis turned to be a bad person. Brody and she got together finally.
Personal Response: This book was intense. The book was so good and realistic. I couldn't put it down, it was so good.
Characteristics: Winnie and Brody both changed and grew up she grew into someone who isn't a homebody into someone to actually hang out with friends. Brody changed from this jerk with anger issues that slept with every girl and turned into some who was in love and was in a relationship and still has anger issues but not as bad.
Recommendations: I would recommend this to a mature audience from the violence and cursing in it but it was a really good book
This was an amazing journey of discovery for two young souls. I loved the story and the delivery. I am also glad that I didn't fall for Brody at the first sight. I had to fall in love with him together with Winnie. I enjoyed the transformation very much. I can't wait to read the next book. Thank you so much!
This was amazing! One of the best books I have read on wattpad!!
However, I liked it until they started dating, it became unrealistic and I no longer could relate with them and I didn't get mushy for them after they started datting! :(
Nevertheless this is a really good story! Worth the read!!
