Set after the events of Blount's debut memoir, Once Upon A Road Trip, this short story anthology focuses on the unusual courtship of Angeli and Vincent.
When Angeli left Minnesota on a post-high school road trip, all she wanted was to see the East Coast and finally meet some of her online friends. She didn't expect to end up in a long-distance relationship with a computer-savvy Southern boy. Yet Vincent seems determined to defy the odds. To prove his intentions, he sets off on his own quest to visit Angeli and win her family's approval. But along the way he’ll have to contend with her offbeat friends, trigger-happy father, and a few questionable run-ins with Northern hospitality.

This memoir about Angeli and her long distance Southern boyfriend Vincent is an amazing read. I wasn't sure about how much sense it would make to me, considering that this is a side novel to the original Once Upon a Road Trip (that I hadn't read). Surprisingly, this novel was easy to follow and I didn't need to read the first book (but I would really like to now!).
Kooky best friends, sneaking out to stay together and relationship woes are all featured in this book, and portray what a real relationship looks like: not perfection. This memoir made me fall in love with this love story, and felt very real and not fake (like some fiction novels make love and relationships out to be).
I would love to hear more about Anjeli and Vincent! The story telling is wonderful and doesn't make you question what's going on. It seemed very real and not forced. It was a believable story.
If anything, the author could have included more "action", or situations the characters went through. I felt cheated for more interaction between Vincent, Anjeli and her family and friends. The story seemed a bit to short for me, but still great (since this isn't the main novel about Vincent and Anjeli, and more of a set of side stories).
I did like this novel! But I wanted a bit more out of it. Overall, it was a good read I would recommend to others!

I will say that I like the author's writing style quite a bit, and not just because she is my friend. Though after reading these, I would want her to be my friend if she wasn't already - the autobigraphical character in her stories really rings true, someone that I would like to know. As such, it's a character driven story and Blount's skill at bringing out her characters echoes heavily.
This was a shorter book than its predecessor, Once Upon a Road Trip. It was longer than an epilogue but shorter than a sequel of equal importance to the original story would have been. It completes the story (for now) begun in the first book and is good closure after reading that.
That said, it's not quite as engaging for me as the first book. It's just as well-written, but I think the style of third person interspersed with diary entries worked so well in that first book. This one is told entirely as a series of journal entries. It works too, just doesn't have that same movie-quality road tripping ambience. This was a little more of a romance story, where the first felt like a life-story/coming of age adventure. All of this isn't criticism, just insight as to whioh book I prefer as a reader.
Still, this was a satisfying read at a good length - not too long, and not too brief. Once more I'm impressed with Angela Blount's easy flowing, personal narrative voice. I'll be looking forward to more of her work in the future.

This was a good sequel, and it was interesting to see what happened after the road trip!
Angie once again seemed older than her years in this story, and she was certainly more mature than her friends! I liked how she stood her ground and stood up for her beliefs, and didn’t give in to peer pressure, no matter what it cost her.
The storyline in this was a continuation of the love story, and it was good to see what happened to Angie and Vince and their long-distance relationship. Vince did really annoy me at one point though, and I couldn’t quite believe what he was saying!
The ending to this was quite nice, and it was good to see what happened even further in the future. Well done to the author for telling her life story in such an entertaining way!

Once Upon an Ever After is the real life tale that follows Angela's story in Once Upon a Road Trip. Long distance isn't easy for anyone, and Angela and Vince are no exception. The moments where they were able to see each other are special and meaningful, but the struggle is being able to wait for long periods of time between those moments,p.
This is a short but really good story. Angela is an amazing person and I really enjoyed reading about her both meeting her husband, as well as the troubles that came while dating long distance. Angela wrote this in a way that's relatable and makes your heart fill with emotions at what she's experiencing. During a certain spot in the novel, my heart broke for her. People can be very influential, but it's important to let convictions stand. I admire Angela for not giving a second thought to give in and put him over God. But that doesn't remove the heartbreak that was happening at that time. I did know the outcome so it wasn't too sad, but I could still feel her pain.
Angela is a Christian so faith does factor in this book, as it did her first one. It doesn't shove anything down anyone's throat, it simply shows what her own beliefs are. She loves God and she is willing to go through a painful heartbreak if it means she keeps her relationship with the Lord.
I loved how she switched point of view and made it first person instead of third. It made it more enjoyable and relatable to her as a person. I didn't mind the third person in her first book, but this is way better.
I'm so excited to read more from Angela and I love she got her happily ever after.

I loved the authors memoir “Once Upon A Road Trip” so much, but THIS!!!!! Young love at it's finest. I was so giddy for them as I read both books, it was so sweet. Seriously, if you haven't read the first book, do so, and then read this one!
What a great and inspiring story for any couple! Whether they be young, have a long-distance relationship, or both. “Once Upon An Ever After” is a beautiful love story that just goes to show, if you put all that you have into something you want badly enough and believe in yourselves...anything is possible, and that's exactly what these two young lovers did!
I was nervous for Vince when he arrived at Angeli's house, him meeting her family and quirky friends, especially her father, because let's be honest, meeting the girls dad...intimidating stuff! Ha!!! Since she met him at his house while on her road trip, she already had a head-start on seeing how and where he grew up, so with him visiting her in her familiar surroundings and how she grew up, I'm sure it helped him gain more perspective about her.
I can relate to this type of situation myself , having had a lot of online friends from gaming and reading groups. Once you meet and put a face to either the voice you've spoken to or words you've typed to each other for years, and discover their mannerisms, etc...it's very neat!
One part in this book where the author mentions coping with betrayal by means of having a bonfire...I have done this, and it DOES help!!! Just thought I'd throw that in there :)
You both got your “Happily Ever After” , and I'm so happy for you! Thank you for sharing your stories with us!

My first impression of this book was that the writing seemed to flow better than I remembered in the first book. I also really enjoyed reading the rest of Angeli's story. It proved to be an easy read and actually managed to bring me out of a reading slump, which was greatly appreciated.
However, I did feel like something was missing. I think this was mostly due to so many parts being skipped over. That said, it is understandable - there likely wasn't much story to tell about the times Angeli and Vincent were apart. It also helped in keeping the story pretty fast-paced.
The dialogue was another flaw. I can't remember if this was a problem in the first book (I read it quite awhile ago), but at times it pulled me away from the story. Clearly it would be impossible to remember every conversation in the book word for word, but some of them seemed edited to the point where I couldn't see anyone speaking that way.
Overall, I did enjoy this a lot. It's a short, easy read and I definitely thought it was worth it. It also has many of the qualities of the first book, being a nonfiction work written so much like a contemporary that it felt like fiction at times. I really enjoyed that aspect, not being a big nonfiction reader myself.

I want to thank the author for the privilege of reading this book in advance.
This book, I feel that not only was it a continuation of Once Upon a Road Trip, but an introduction of how the life of the character continued on.
This book had me humored from start to finish. I laughed at the "embarrassing" moment, was angered at the upsetting. Happy during the rest.
Over all, I think that this book was a wonderful ending to the "Once Upon" series.
I am yet again looking toward more of Mrs. Blount's books!

I want to thank Angela Blount for letting me read & review this story for my honest review. I loved Once upon a road trip. Angela's story is old love, long distance relationship, beautiful story... You learn more about Angela & Vince in this book. Vince is from Alabama and Angela is from Minnesota and Vince comes to prove his love by meeting her family & friends.They go thru hard times most long distance relationships come with, Angela is new to the dating aspects in life also. I really enjoyed these stories! Will Angela & Vince have there happy ending? Will Angela's family approve of Vince Go check them out & find out :)

I’m not a big fan of memoirs but this book definitely hooked me.
I was not able to read the first book of this series Once Upon a Road Trip but I still enjoyed reading the book. It can definitely stand alone. It was so easy to read because of how smooth the story flows. I love how natural Vince and Angie deal with distance and other challenges they encountered. And the story of how they met is so cool and to think it really happened in real life it's just Wow!
I would definitely recommend reading this book whether you read Once Upon a Road Trip or not.

Angie is back home after her now infamous road trip and her long-distance relationship with Vince is put to the test. Several months had passed since last seeing him, and he is now on his way to Minnesota to meet her family. Now, for Angie, this long-distance relationship thing is so new to her. In fact, dating in general is a totally new experience for her. After some people-watching at the airport, her nerves are shot. She struggles on deciding how she's expected to act around him, how to greet him when his plane lands but her heart takes over for her once her eyes lay on him for the first time in months.
Now, if introducing this infamous Vince to her family nerve-racking enough--with a postal-service, gun-collecting dad and quirky siblings-- their relationship faces another challenge as the heat between them intensifies. Angie fills the air around them with distractions, and one of them was taking Vince to finally meet his online arch-enemy, Proxy, also Angie's best friend Elsie. This is pretty much where some of the hilarity ensures. I laughed SO hard during this meeting, oh my gawd LOLOL!
"At least she referred to him by the name of his neutral character rather than one of the outright villains. Thanks to several quirky years of experience, I wasn't entirely confident in her ability to distinguish fiction from reality."
Having met some of my online-friends face to face, I totally understand the geeky and awkward tension in the air around some of the competitors from your group! LOL!
But when the distractions die out and it's just the two of them alone, the elephant in the room is brought up. Sex. Part of the discussions and confessions on this matter had me laughing once again; but all seriousness of the topic puts a strain on their relationship when Vince is trying to figure things out.
They were young, and it's a totally normal part of today's society to think of sex and relationships to always coincide with each other at the very start of young love. It was a tough situation for Angie to be in and my heart hurt FOR her!
After a potential halt threatens their being together for always, sommmeeboddy is quickly redeemed by the reader when she receives a letter, "Every minute I spend without you only fuels my burning desire to hold you in my arms and love you as God intended you to be loved."
One second, plucking my melted heart from off the ground.
Sigh.
This is an absolutely beautiful and sweet coming of age memoir and I went through every emotion whilst reading it. I laughed, I nearly cried but was quickly picked back up and read the rest of the story with a big grin! Is it too much trouble to be hoping for another installment to this? I can't get enough of Vince and Angie's story! Inspiring through and through! A big 5 stars from me on this review!

Better than the first one
I think that is the perfect way to describe this book, and it really shows something since many sequels simply can't compare to the original. That is definitely not true with this novel.
There were significantly less characters in this novel. It was mainly about Angeli and Vince (as expected), along with a few supporting characters along the way. Their relationship blossomed as the book continued, and the reader was able to know both of them even more. They had layers that and problems that they both worked through, and there was a lot of growth for both of them. Rather than solely being introduced to them and their beginning like in the first novel, this was instead a brief story about navigating this unique relationship and dealing with everything that came along with it.
Also, unlike some romance books, there weren't really any lull points. The novel flowed, and if nothing happened during some points in time, they were shown through brief emails rather than unnecessary chapters. The plot was always moving and was easy to get invested in from the beginning. There was no slow start, and it was easy to get immersed in the novel.
The writing style was exactly like the first novel. There were lots of descriptions that only made the characters seem more real. Luckily, there weren't excessive and unnecessary descriptions- only the one's that truly made sense and flowed with the novel.
I only had one problem with this book. Ironically it was how unrealistic the novel was (despite it being true?). I felt like either Angeli never had doubts about how she hadn't known Vince for a long time, or this was simply never included. They had relationship problems, but it never related to this topic, and I simply can't understand that. Their relationship really did move fast and I was surprised that only a few people worried about this for only a short period of time.
However, the book was still enjoyable and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first book!

The plot was always moving and was easy to get invested in from the beginning. There was no slow start, and it was easy to get immersed in the novel.
The writing style was exactly like the first novel. There were lots of descriptions that only made the characters seem more real. Luckily, there weren't excessive and unnecessary descriptions- only the one's that truly made sense and flowed with the novel.
I only had one problem with this book. Ironically it was how unrealistic the novel was (despite it being true?). I felt like either Angeli never had doubts about how she hadn't known Vince for a long time, or this was simply never included. They had relationship problems, but it never related to this topic, and I simply can't understand that. Their relationship really did move fast and I was surprised that only a few people worried about this for only a short period of time.
However, the book was still enjoyable and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first book!

WOW!!! This anthology was a perfect follow up story to Angela's novel Once Upon a Road Trip.
If you haven't yet read Angela's amazing awe-inspiring memoir, Once Upon a Road Trip, I'm telling you to go out and get it now! I have never meant that sentence more. Once Upon an Ever after wraps up Angeli's and Vince's story perfectly and has you happily sighing, laughing out loud and hoping their story will be a happily ever after.
This story takes place roughly a month after Once Upon a Road Trip with Vince planning to visit Angeli, her family and her... interesting friends.
Will Vince survive Anglei's gun toting, squirrel eradicating father? Can they get passed the opinions of others before they start to leave a trail of doubt? Will they both be able to move past the things from there past that still haunt them? but most importantly can their love survive the distance that stands between them?
Angela has once again written a wonderful story. As evidence shows from her previous work, she has an amazing talent for writing and I cant wait to see what else she has in store for us readers.

Angeli is now home and has searched her feelings and those of Vince, trying to determine if they could indeed make a long distance relationship work. Just after a few days with Vince, he believes that he is in love with her. She isn't quite as quick to come to this conclusion for her own feelings but determines she feels the same for him.
There are many ups and downs in all relationships. Whether you are close together or distance apart. It is what you both do to commit yourselves to being the best you are and continually growing along with the journey together.
They make plans to spend time together where Angeli lives and for her to go back and visit him again as well. Vince after spending a great couple of weeks with Angeli at her home, he begins having second thoughts about their relationship and let's his friends get into his head.
I recommend that you read Once Upon a Road Trip to learn about Angeli's journey for self discovery. Then you must read this book. Read about young romance that may suffer with different upbringings, friends interferences and just the long distance relationship. Or it may prosper. This is not a typical read which is refreshing. A must read.

Angeli being in Minnesota and Vincent in Alabama it makes for a difficult long distance romance. This is Vincent's first time in Minnesota and his chance to meet her friends and family.
Both lead different lives and come from completely different families. Angeli wonders how her family will get along wit him. Will they like him as much as she does? Will her friends like him? And finally will they all get along?
I really enjoyed this story. I love the differences in each family, how their friends react, and how Angeli and Vincent feel about each other. I got to see how they handled a long distance romance and how their relationship develops. The best part is the book is a memoir and we all get to see Angeli's Ever after! I highly recommend to all.

Once Upon an Ever After is the follow-up to Blount’s first memoir, Once Upon a Road Trip. Picking up shortly after the first book concludes, Ever After continues the story of the long-distance relationship between Angeli and Vince. In this second installment, readers get to know the families of both characters in greater detail, as Angeli and Vince travel to visit one another. Their relationship naturally faces challenges, but the two young loves overcome.
Ever After provides readers with a satisfying conclusion to narrative. The storyline and tone of the book follow smoothly from the first novel. Blount’s well written characters have distinct personalities, and she does well at conveying the inner life of her protagonist, Angeli.
In keeping with the first novel, I especially appreciate the moral stance of Angeli, and Blount’s portrayal of it. In a culture in which overt sexuality is so pervasive, even among teens, I truly appreciate the example set by Angeli. Her story shows that young relationships can thrive without being sexual, and hopefully provides a model other young women and men will follow.

Okay, before we dive into the review let me just say that I got a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
I also have not read the first book of this series yet, so I might be lacking some background info.
So now that this is cleared up let’s start with the review.
Once Upon an Ever After is the follow up to the novel Once Upon a Road Trip. It is also a sort of memoir which I thought was really interesting and actually nice for a change.
Even though it is a rather short and quick read, I still feel like I got to know the characters quite well and I actually really liked reading it. I especially liked Angeli. Not only is she quite independent and strong, but she also can be really sarcastic and witty.
A major theme of the book is also the long distance relationship between Vince and her - which I thought was really nicely thought out and portrayed.
After reading this I am definitely going to read the first one. I would definitely recommend this to people who like stories about love, life and friendship.
For me this was one of those happy and comfortable reads that you can just loose yourself in for a while. So thanks for giving me an opportunity to read this.

I had previously read and reviewed the the first book "Once Upon a Road Trip" so I was so happy to have the opportunity to read and review the follow up book that allowed me to follow Angela and Vince's story after her amazing road trip.
This was a very quick read, almost too quick for my curious mind, but it was an enjoyable read. It was nice to catch up with familiar characters. There were time lapses that the author probably just had too much to put everything in, but it was a good and real story!
I did want to know a little more about the unresolved issue of her attack from the first book that had such an impact on her, and how she handled dealing with it.
Thank you to the author! I have enjoyed and recommend both pieces of her work that I have read, and I definitely suggest reading them back to back!

I enjoyed this more than Once Upon a Road Trip. Its all about Angeli and Vincent's long distance relationship and how they make it work.
They are so sweet together and I learned more about Angeli's little quirks and I loved them. I think she would have made an awesome friend but I can also understand why she would've been teased.
Her family isn't in it much so I didn't really get a feel for them, other then her dad's war on wildlife, but theres moments with her friends. I really liked Elsie that could be because she reminds me of a few of my teenage friends.
I thought Vincent was perfect for her until one phone call. I completely took Angeli's side on that one. He should have never done that but I teared up on how he made up.
The ending was perfect and makes a great story to tell the rest of their lives.

I didn't think there could be a better way to end the story from Once Upon a Road Trip, but there was. This little memoir was so cute and perfect, that I just couldn't get enough of it. It made me hope for a love story like theirs. Once Upon and Ever After made me fall more in love with Vince and all his nerdy ways, which I didn't think was possible after reading the first book. I'm so honored that the author asked me to read this memoir because it showed me that if you wait, the right person will come around. I couldn't have asked for a better completion to their little love story. Five out of five beautiful stars.

The first book was amazing and wonderful and as I said in my review then, it was my great hope there would be more.
This was the icing on a very well made cake, and a beautiful story of peopke finding their way while walking in the light. This book can be read stand alone, but there is so more richness to be had if you read the first one.
So pull up a comfy chair, a cup of tea, and these two books and follow the beautiful growth and journey of one extraordinary woman as she finds her way to the rest of her life. You'll not be disappointed.

An excellent continuation from the last book and it really shows in depth what the author was feeling and is just unexpected at how her life continued after her trip (which for the record I'm jealous of) and this book still overshot my expectations for it, I couldn't help but notice that some people were somewhat against all the mentions of god and religion and such in the last one, just keep ion mind this is a recollection of events as the author remembers it, please don't hold that against a fantastic book. :P

I received this as an ARC copy from the author. I loved this mini-sequel to Once Upon a Road Trip! Even though this is based on truth, I liked that it didn't seem too gushy, but real and interesting! The characters had depth, and so did Angeli's relationship with Vincent. I really wanted to know what happened next and I'm glad I got closure with this continuation.

The second book is never better than the first, right? Wrong! Reading this book, I fell even more in love with it than I did the first. After originally picking up the memoir Once Upon A Road Trip just to fulfill an English project, I couldn't believe that things that happened to Angeli actually happen. So it was safe to say that by the time the anthology released, it was the first book on my "Need to Read" list.

Our main character, Angie, previously went on a road trip by herself, met numerous people she was friends with in an online writing community. On her road trip she ends up in a long distance relationship, with ups and downs occurring. Vince is truly an amazing guy, but has a moment of weakness and tries to change the status of their relationship based on peer pressure. Angie and Vince overcome great odds; making a long distance relationship work especially at such a young age and marrying despite what everyone must think and then moving clear across the country, away from everything she knows to be with the guy she loves.
This book was an amazing love story based on God's principles. I would highly recommend this book to all my friends.

Once Upon an Ever After is a delightful book. It is not only worth reading, but it is definitely worth purchasing! I believe it gives a deeper understanding of Angeli, she is quite lovable through all of her quirkiness and guarded exterior :). Though she isn't your typical teenager/young adult, the many emotions that we all experience as young adults trying to find ourselves and finding love for the first time are well portrayed throughout the book. It dives deeper into the relationship ups and downs of Angeli and Vincent, and honestly you really can't help but want "A Happily Ever After" for the young couple. I gave this book 5 stars for it being relatable, an easy and enjoyable read, and the content is teenage and young adult friendly. As much as I loved reading Once Upon A Road Trip, I must admit I wish she would've released this one first, only because I think it allows you to know Angeli more intimately. Well done Angela!

I admit that I enjoyed the book however l do feel it has its downside.
While the characters are great to read about I do feel Angeli is too old mentally for her age, this is my opinion and in no way does it effect the enjoyment of the book.
Throughout the story you are constantly smiling at loves young dream. I found this book to grow and follow a young lady through a key part of life, it grips you and enables you to see love through another persons eyes along side all the joys it brings.
I really liked book one but this one was an even better read.
I would reccommend this book to anyone looking for something abit different to your regular college romances which are in abundance, its different and original.
