Voyages of Sinbad is one of my favorite stories. I have read 10 different versions probably. This one was my least favorite. There was no details at all and the stories were manipulated! The two stars goes for the illustration

Sinbad: Sailing into Peril is a very accessible retelling of the famous seven voyages of Sinbad from the Arabian Nights, framed—as tradition demands—through Scheherazade’s storytelling to King Shahryār. The book does a good job of introducing younger readers to the classic adventures: violent storms, monstrous creatures, giant birds, and dangerous islands all appear in quick succession, keeping the pace lively and adventurous throughout.
The illustrations by Clint Hilinski are bright and colourful, which certainly helps maintain the sense of wonder, but they often feel overly simple and somewhat childish. Likewise, the prose is extremely elementary, making the book easy to read, but also leaving the story without much emotional weight or narrative richness. Readers already familiar with the original tales may find this version a bit too simplified.
That said, the spirit of Sinbad’s restless thirst for adventure still comes across clearly, and the book works reasonably well as an introductory adaptation for younger audiences or reluctant readers. Enjoyable enough, but ultimately too basic to leave a lasting impression.

Adequate telling of Sinbad's adventures

This graphic novel was sufficient in recounting Sinbad's many adventures as detailed in The Arabian Nights. It was a graphic representation where the artwork was of a high quality and was colourful. The book was easy to read an follow and was finished within 20 minutes! I felt a bit short changed at the end of the boo and wished the stories could have been more sophisticated. But its source material was from The Arabian Nights and had to remain truthful to the original book. I feel 4 stars is appropriate for this book.

“Sinbad: Sailing into Peril”
“He was ready again for adventures ...”
Tales of Sinbad going on a series for sailing expeditions – each time all his crew die leaving him alone, ending up downstream to a village, gets riches, rescued and returned home. Hit repeat!
Different to tales of Roman and Greek gods who connive and trick and are/were brutally jealous.

Very good series giving a generalised overview of the predominant myths and legends that have shaped our worldviews.
