It is a good book to read an know about the Companion...BUT it gives their characters (by giving examples in certain events) and thus reasons why they are the Companion. There is nothing on their personal background as in real names, places where they were born or died, their family etc. which to me is something I want to know from the title since events included, some of them are already known to us in general. Nevertheless, the the way the author write the book, he managed to touched the heart of reader (at least me..hehe..I was overwhelmed when reading on Abu Bakr, even there was only few pages on him). All in all, it is a good read but, like I said, I expected more.

It's an amazing introduction to 60 companions of the prophet(PBU). It leaves you emotional and baffled by how much they have endured. I fell in love with each one of them. Highly recommend it for those who would like to get to know more about the REAL men of Islam especially the ones who are not as known as the other major companions. Those are the ones who we should truly look up to.

Sixty men around the messenger who defended as well as spread Islam spanning the lifetime of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Madinah and a few years after his demise. There is some overlap of the biographies which helped strengthen my memory. I found it very interesting as it touched on the motivation of these men again and again. Their goal was martyrdom and not self-glory, and the goal of martyrdom is Paradise. I found it difficult to put it down. Strongly recommended to everyone including non-muslims.

Thank you for this book. It helped me understand why they were chosen as one of the Prophet Muhammad's companions. I fell in love with their characters as well as their ability to handle and face each difficult situation by putting their trust solely to Allah. I especially love the friendship between Abu Bakr and Umar Ibn Al-Khattab after the passing of Prophet Muhammad. It brought me to tears.

A very useful reference for life & times of the sahabah. The stories to me are rather short & concise, but suffice to get to know & appreciate each presented Sahabah.
