Dear Author, This is our hero of the story, a young prince, in fact the youngest of his many brothers and sisters. He spends his days studying to be a diplomat and socialising with his fellow students, but mainly just being bored and hoping that something, anything would happen to alter the monotony of his life.
Then the Royal Seer has a vision, a prophecy that will alter our hero’s path and give him the adventure he craves.
Please, Dear Author, tell me what happens next to this young man, but most importantly tell me how he meets his true love.

4.5 rounded up. (Full disclosure: I edited this story, but I liked it, too, so! xD)
Okay, so, I'm a pretty picky rater with stories at times, but I just so enjoyed this (and Eon was great to work with too, so that helped!)
If you're looking for a super sweet romance with lots of action, this isn't the story for you. This story is more about adventure and action with an excellent backdrop into a creative little world that Eon so wonderfully created.
It took me places, and for that, I have to give it praise. I wanted more of the world, wanted to learn more about the intricate details of these Islands and the elements of steampunk.
All in all, a really great little Young Adult story to take you to a different land and give you a little adventure outside of your hectic every day life.
This felt to short, and some parts of the story went to quickly. Like Kaythan leaving with Harkin just after meeting him. And how everyone just believed Harkin when he came to Aviar, and sent a prince of into the unknown on the word of a stranger. The relationship between Harkin and Kaythan went too quickly from first attraction to love, and the fact that it happened off page didn't improve my opinion of the story.
Maybe it was just too late to be reading this. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood. But when every single line in the narrative and dialogue felt like exposition and I still had no idea who's who or what's what, I couldn't continue. Maybe I'll try again later.
I'm actually at a kind of a loss how I feel about this story. In the beginning I thought I'm thrown into Avatar world with a bit Lord of the Rings and then the steampunkt element made it's appearance. Somewhere I most definitely also must have over read the connection between Aviar world and the dark counterpart. But this might be just my problem, While world building was intriguingI find myself with a big pile of questions about sorcerers at all, the background of the bad boy, what's the deal with the eye, the background of the special blade, why everybody knows Harkin everywhere etc etc It left me kind of unsatisfied. Then there was the "romance" between Kaythan and Harkin. It bothered me, that they till the end referred to each other only as good friends. There is one instance where they say they love each other but that's it. I couldn't feel the spark between them at all and found especially Kaythan with his over formal attitude came over as emotionally cold. I found the big battle scene kind of anticlimactic the way it was written. I couldn't see it in my mind. That said, worked out this could be a great story I'd love to read.
