Eada Friesian is an author of snarky sapphic women who fall in love hard. She loves all the characters and relationships she gets to play with and the best friends she makes with each new book she writes. She fell in love with the genre years ago and could never leave it. Who would? Now that she’s authoring her own books, she hopes to bring a fresh flair to the sapphic book world.
Eada lives in the mountains, camping her life away with her partner and horde of animals. She has her family right by her side as she strives to live her best life authentically as an author, a parent, a spouse, and weird person. She loves the smell of campfire, the taste of a completely charred marshmallow for a s’more, and living off the land with very little people around her. Of course, none of this last part is true, because Eada is a pen name, and the identity of the person(s) behind her remain hidden.
This book follows Siena, an entertainment manager, and Jamie, a journalist/ gossip columnist, who represent opposing sides of the media and entertainment industry. Their worlds are turned upside down after a one-night stand, during which neither recognized the other.
I found this book to be captivating; the emotional intensity and angst were highly entertaining, and the steamy elements were quite compelling. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and the plot was excellent. I especially liked the ups and downs the characters experienced both professionally and personally. It's a book that's hard to put down once you begin.
The relationship's development was flawlessly executed, and the palpable tension between Siena and Jamie was captivating. Their connection and the relationship's progression were truly inspiring. I also greatly enjoyed the new characters introduced, including Jamie's sister, Jessie, and the welcome return of characters from previous books.
This book was an exceptional and highly recommended read, as I do all of Eada's works, and look forward to her future publications.
Star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice rating. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
I liked this author’s Taming of a Rebel so I tried to read more of their work. But I couldn’t continue when the characters insists on saying “throbbing between the legs” that happens when they just look each other. And it happens more than once. I get being aroused by each other but it’s just a bit much. It’s too shallow, inauthentic and just a bit pedestrian in the grand scheme of things. Like, the writing is professional but the content is just not deep enough for real emotional connection with the characters.
The way I so desperately wanted to throw hands when I thought the ultimate betrayal happened omg [No spoilers ofc]. But alas this author is quickly becoming one of my favourites. One night to forever, enemies to lovers, positive co-parenting, ice queens and lots of spice 😛
Jamie is a reporter for a gossip paper, and also writes her own blog posts about celebrities, bringing things they would rather keep hidden to public attention. She has a reputation for salacious gossip, but prides herself on always having the evidence to support her words. She tries to keep her blog identity under wraps, but for many people it’s an open secret. Siena is a celebrity manager, with several clients on her books. Jamie has been a thorn in her side for several years, specifically for Bunny and Piper, her biggest celebrities, always spreading gossip about the duo. But the biggest problem is that Jamie’s writing is often substantially on the money. Siena likes to keep her personal life private, so as not to hurt her young daughter and ex wife. This is how they meet and have a hookup without knowing who the other is. Slowly they get to know each other more, but there are always issues. Jamie doesn’t know how to get out of her own way, and let Siena in, and Siena finds it hard to trust, and to relinquish control. This story is interlocked with the other books in this series, we see many of the same scenes from different perspectives. This had me looking back through Taming of a Rebel, Spicy Sapphic Christmas, and more, cross checking the scenes. I enjoyed the way this story slowly pulled out the burgeoning relationship between the women, and that we could see each turning point as it came.
I loved the author's book "Taming for a Rebel", and I am interested to find out more about the ex wife Siena and her love story after the divorce. The casual hook up turned out to be much more and this one night to forever romance is deeper and better than I expected. Both Siena the ice queen manager and Jamie the talented but struggling reporter have tons of mental baggage, and there are too much angsts that made me want to pull my hair and scream at Jamie. There are two important events in the book that I don't understand, first, Jamie tried so hard to get a interview with the star Bunny and Pepper, but when Siena finally arranged the meeting, she CHICKENED OUT!!! And she knew how important the interview would be for her to keep her job, and she was one paycheck away from homeless. Second, I totally missed the point of the fake engagement, and think the author should explain more about it. But overall I enjoyed the story so much that I had to finished it in one go. Love is complicated but the happy ending is worth it.

I received and ARC for “Is it Casual now?” Release date is March 3rd 2025.
Trope: Enemies to lovers
I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers so I was excited to start this. Siena is a successful entertainment manager and Jamie is a journalist that writes gossip articles about celebrities. She’s Sienas worst nightmare. They meet at a bar and have a one night stand without knowing who each other are. The drama start once they both find out. The banter between the two was my favorite! Jame did not back down to Siena. They were the complete opposites but the chemistry they had was far too strong. The spice was hot and very well written 🔥 Siena appears in “Taming of a Rebel” which I haven’t read so I need to get on that!
Yay! We finally get Sienna’s story! Plus it’s a lovely age gap ;). The chemistry between Sienna and Jamie was so palpable I swear it was jumping off the pages! Their sexy banter was fun and sizzling. They compliment each other very well and when they let themselves, they seamlessly connect. It was great to see Tori and Miranda, lots of Harley and a peek at sweet (crazy) Rebel! This family is getting bigger and so am thrilled to be along for the ride!
I will confess the blurb didn’t really clarify what the story was about, except it started with an expected one night stand…… then real life got involved. Possibly because of the slight confusion, I am not yet seeing two distinct voices. I normally like the physical scenes to be once the characters have built a relationship. Obviously with a one night stand, that doesn’t happen, and the first intimate scene didn’t quite work for me. Not the authors…. Or my fault. The author certainly captures the bumpiness of sex with someone you don’t know. Consent is inferred, but so is being rough… again not my personal preference. One main is called JK with a lot of bad mouthing the association. I didn’t quite get the point. (I got the point of the dig, but not why the author chose to do this multiple times in a short section!) There is a section about a quarter of the way in where the chemistry is off the charts and the mains are seconds away from not being able to restrain themselves. For some reason I read this as a "disinterested third party" rather than swept up in the scene. Possibly because I hadn’t long restarted reading…… but the chemistry for me isn’t quite feelable. Even the "angry should feel the hot tension" scene didn’t work for me and actually put me off. I just couldn’t get swept up in the lives of the characters. A soft 3, being soft because the book just wasn't for me but I don't think there is anything wrong with the book. It just didn't click with me.
I love it! I devour this book. I like the characters and their dinamics. The writing was clear, which is great for someone like me, as English is not my first language. I could fully immerse myself in the story without needing to reread sentences multiple times or use a translator
I enjoyed Tori and Miranda, but I had so much fun with Siena and Jamie. The drama, the fire, the angst, the sap. I remember hoping for a Siena story after meeting her and I was right in the desire. I love Siena, she’s so cute and patient with Jamie.
You’re telling me you wouldn’t recognize the gossip writer that has been writing about your clients and is as infamous as she is? But regardless of it not being believable, this was just two grown women hurting each other back and forth and then all of sudden saying it was never casual. These two women barely talk and just have sex.
I loved this story! The spice was good, the tension was soo good. The plot was fully involved and I loved how the author used her daughter to show a soft side to the very frosty character.
Is It Casual Now is a sizzling enemies-to-lovers romance that takes a one-night encounter and turns it into something unforgettable. From the very first page, I was hooked. A spontaneous meeting at a tapas bar leads Siena and Jamie to a passionate night at a hotel—without either of them realizing the impact they have on each other’s professional lives. Fate and unexpected coincidences keep drawing the two women back together, making their connection impossible to ignore.
I absolutely loved the instant chemistry between Siena and Jamie. From the moment they meet, the sparks practically leap off the page. Every interaction is charged with energy, and when they challenge each other, the tension only intensifies, making their dynamic even more captivating.
Both Siena and Jamie are complex, multi-dimensional women with their own strengths and struggles. They've built full lives and established long-standing careers, adding depth to their characters. While Jamie’s professional ethics may be questionable, exploring her layers—especially in relation to her upbringing—made her all the more intriguing.
Is It Casual Now is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance that follows Siena and Jamie, two accomplished women whose chance meeting at a tapas bar leads to an unforgettable night together. Unbeknownst to them, their lives are more intertwined than they realize, both personally and professionally. As fate continues to throw them together, their undeniable chemistry ignites, creating a sizzling tension that neither can ignore. While Siena is steadfast in her values, Jamie’s questionable professional ethics add complexity to their dynamic. With passion, challenge, and personal growth at its core, this novel explores whether a one-night encounter can truly turn into forever.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
** Since Is It Casual Now runs parallel to two other books, I highly recommend reading Taming of Rebel and Spicy Sapphic Christmas to gain a deeper understanding of the characters and their interconnected stories.
"Is It Casual Now?" by Eada Friesian I was so excited when I received this ARC! I got completely sucked into Eada Friesian’s world. I remember reading Taming of a Rebel and falling in love with the characters and the story, thinking it would be awesome to learn more about Siena Frazee. Until now, she had been a bit of a mystery—other than her resemblance to Miranda and her occasional appearances picking up Harley. Before this book, all I knew was that she was divorced from Tori, Harley's other mom, and open to dating. In Spicy Sapphic Christmas, we learn she’s a music manager. But in this book, we dive into her life—her job, being a single parent, and a one-night stand with one of her enemies that stirs up some serious sexual tension. The story kicks off with a one-night stand between Jamie Kettlehouse, a gossip writer with many pen names and blogs. After Jamie’s viral article puts her career in jeopardy, she turns to Siena for help, which leads to an interview with Siena and Jamie working hard to get her approval for a feature on the music duo Bunny and Bea. Ever the ice queen, Siena acts cool and distant when she finds out who Jamie is. Despite their differences, their chemistry pulls them back together, leading to a complicated, will-they-won’t-they romance. As their relationship deepens, they’re both torn between risking their careers for a shot at love. I love seeing Harley in kindergarten—she’s such a cute character! Miranda pops in a bit, being... well, Miranda. We also get to read a lot about Tori and Siena's interactions as friends and parents, and we learn more about why their marriage didn’t work. This novella is spicy—and it’s GREAT spice. I love how the tension builds into an emotional connection. These women are relatable, with real bodies, great communication, and genuine attraction that turns into love. Febe Aarts next?
I've always enjoyed a good enemies to lovers romance and this book was no exception. Siena and Jaime are complete opposites in every sense of the word. Siena is a successful entertainment manager who represents high profile artists while Jaime is a journalist who writes gossip columns and blogs highlighting all the secrets that celebrities try to hide.
The two women first meet in a bar and end up having a steamy one-night stand without realising who the other person really is. And boy does the drama start once they find out. Everything blows up when Jaime publishes an article slamming the entertainment management industry. Suddenly her job is on the line as her boss forcing her to reach out to Siena to obtain an interview with Siena's top clients, Bunny and Piper.
What follows is an incredible roller-coaster of emotions as the two women engage in lots of snarky banter and toing and froing as they try to fight their obvious chemistry while also dealing with their own insecurities and baggage. There were certainly times when I just wanted to bang their heads together and implore them to give up the battle and just get on with helping each other instead of being so stand-offish. However the tension was positively electric!
I think one of the features of this story that I really loved was meeting up again with characters from Eada Friesian's previous books. I love the cooperative and supportive dynamic between Siena and her ex-wife Tori as well as Tori's new partner Madison as they co-parent their absolutely adorable daughter, Harley, who is now in kindergarten. I also loved the connection between Jaime and her twin sister Jessie.
Another great read from Eada Friesian and I can't wait for her next release.
I am grateful to the author for providing me with an ARC copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I am a huge fan of Eada Friesian and have thoroughly enjoyed everything she has written. This book, of course, was also a winner. I was so excited to read this book upon first laying eyes on the cover. You can see that one of the lovely ladies in this wonderful wlw book is a more full figured woman! There are very few wlw books which feature more realistic or curvy ladies and so I was thrilled for this to be one…& what a special & gorgeous lady turns out to be! Is it Casual Now is a really hot and totally engaging one night to forever story that I couldn’t put down. I kept wanting the book to somehow magically never end but I devoured it in one weekend.
I love revisiting characters from Taming of a Rebel and this in depth story about Siena was so great! Siena and Jaime meet and have an instant spark which leads to really hot night of passion. Their immediate chemistry is intoxicating and makes for an excellent and entertaining story. Siena’s job as an entertainment manager & Jaime’s as a gossip writer puts them at odds but their connection is powerful. They are both wonderfully deep and complex women who benefit each other’s lives greatly…when they finally realize it that is. The drama that unfolds after their initial rendezvous is fun to read. The push & pull between Siena and Jaime as they fight their feelings is delicious. In the end their journey is quite special. We watch as they grow as individuals as well together. Their love seems to grow organically and it’s clear they are made for each other! I must also mention that the spicy scenes are indeed quite hot!! And beautifully written! I personally feel like a good wlw story must contain some heat and this delivers big time! Highly recommend! Must read! Thanks for a great book & look forward to more from Eada Friesian.
Received an ARC and was happy to leave my very honest review.
Is It Casual Now? is set in the same backdrop as Eada Friesian’s other books, but can be read as a standalone. If you’re familiar with the other books you will like the familiar characters and interwoven storylines. I like how this book takes place during some of the same timeframe of Spicy Sapphic Christmas, but we get to see things from a different perspective.
Siena Frazee is a successful entertainment manager and mother to kindergartner Harley. She has a healthy loving relationship with her ex wife Tori but hasn’t been in a relationship since their divorce. She isn’t the type to have one night stands, but when the curvy sensual Jamie Kettlehouse flirts with her at a tapas restaurant, she finds herself taking the sexy blonde to a hotel.
Jamie is a feisty journalist who mostly writes celebrity gossip articles and is not very well liked by those in the entertainment business. She sometimes struggles with confidence and self worth but not on the night she shamelessly flirts with Siena. I really enjoyed the plus-size rep.
We get lots of well written spice early on as the two engage in what was supposed to be a one night stand. Of course shenanigans ensue when Siena realizes the buxom beauty she just slept with is none other than her business enemy Jamie Kettlehouse.
I love the way Eada Friesian writes snarky banter and well developed characters. The story moved along at a good pace and there was plenty of great spice. I did struggle a bit with finding Jamie’s character likable but I appreciated she was on a journey to improve herself.
I look forward to reading whatever Eada writes next.
Siena Frazee is a music manager who looks out for her clients, including trying to stop the incorrect gossip about her clients. After a particularly frustrating evening, she is approached at a restaurant by an attractive, thick younger woman who called herself “Julie Andrews.” They end up having half a one night stand because Siena finds out that her one night stand is the bane of her existence, Jamie Kettlehouse. The gossip columnist she can’t quite debunk because her sources are factual. Jamie ends up writing an article after their tryst that brings their lives together in a way they never expected. Siena is an Ice Queen who gets her way and Jamie is dominant and knows what she wants professionally, which might include Siena.
I have two words to describe this book. Sexy and Snarky. I absolutely love the power dynamics between Siena and Jamie. Siena is more of an Ice Queen who uses her status and power to get what she wants. Jamie is dominant in the way that she knows she’s attractive and she knows how to use it, especially against Siena. The only thing that bothered me a little, but doesn’t detract from my rating is the integration of the other characters. I had not read some of the author’s previous stories so I was a little confused when certain things were mentioned but not elaborated on but looking at the author’s other works, I realized that if I would have read them, I would have understood the context. The author really takes you on an emotional rollercoaster with these two characters. This book also has angst. I love a good book with angst.
Is It Casual Now is an enemies-to-lovers, spicy sapphic romance. Siena is a divorced mom that is also an entertainment manager. She is still close friends with her ex-wife, Tori, and hasn’t dated since the divorce, since being a mom and being successful in her career takes up most of her focus. Hookups aren’t really her thing.
Jamie is a journalist, although some would say she simply writes celebrity gossip. The thing is, she is usually right on the money with it. While she tries to hide her identity, several people already know it is her behind the articles.
One night, these two bump into each other, both using fake names. The end up flirting, sharing a meal, then end up in a hotel room together. That was supposed to be it. They discover who they each really are, and sparks fly. Not the fun kind like in the hotel room, either. Life continues to throw them in each other’s paths over and over. This will take you on an emotional ride with all the emotions.
The snark and banter in this book is amazing. Eada does a fantastic job of building this relationship, having you feeling the tension, and seeing the growth each of them make throughout the book. Each in their own different ways.
I didn’t realize that this book runs parallel with Taming of Rebel and Spicy Sapphic Christmas. It’s not required to read this book, but I definitely will be adding those to read ASAP to read more about these characters!
Thank you to Eada for sharing the eARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to read more.
Is it Casual Now? is the latest book by Eada Friesian and is the story of the developing relationship between Siena Frazee, manager to music acts, and Jamie Kettlehouse, gossip blogger and columnist.
The book is just wonderful, tracing the ups and downs of their relationship from their first one night stand which goes sour, all through the twists and turns as they try to keep the chemistry between them from crashing into their work lives.
Eada Friesian has once again written a gem - the interactions between the main characters and the pressures building against them, are beautifully described, immersing you in their story; the storyline itself is wonderfully believable, hooking you into wanting to see where it goes; and the sex scenes are scorching!
The book is the latest in this series, Siena has made many appearances and Jamie has featured before as well and one of the absolute delights of the book is discovering more about Siena and Jamie, seeing them as complete characters in their own story, not as supports to others (the other books in the series are definitely worth reading as well !!).
'Is it Casual Now?' is another absolutely wonderful read from Eada Friesian - passionate characters, a fascinating storyline - a beautifully enthralling book that has been a joy to read!! (Can't wait for the next one now!)
The lastest book of Eada Friesian Is It Casual Now is a very interested story that involves Siena Frazee (music manager) and Jamie Kettlehouse (journalist and gossip columnist with a lot of pen names). Jamie picks up Siena both of them gives fake name and share a steamy night. Everything blows up in Siena face when she discovers one night stand real name. What will Siena do after founding out? Let me just say it's not one of her best choices. When Jamie realizes who she slept with, she makes one of her biggest mistakes that can cause her, her job.
Eada made it that I love and hate Jamie for many decisions she made through the story. But I was sad for Jamie because she thought she didn't deserve to be love by anyone.
Eada has created a great character for Siena aways trying her best to be a good mom and a manager protecting her clients. The relationship between them is every complicated they banter to much trying to keep personal and professional separate but Jamie pushes to much Siena buttons.
Eada develop a great chemistry between them, push and pull with their relationship with one another. I really didn't want to spoil the story I highly recommend the story it has a lot of development between the characters and 🔥 🔥 🔥 senses as well.
Tori's co-parent from Taming of a Rebel dates sapphic Perez Hilton
I'm dating myself a bit with that one aren't I? these days Jamie's found herself replaced by DeuxMoi
so yeah I have a disconnect with the author. Taming of a Rebel, Love and Cherish, and this book all have a similar thing in that the bulk of the book is about the chase. the push and pull between two frustrating individuals who are really into each other but can't help but clash for one reason or another. and it feels like there's rarely any focus on what the relationship looks like when it's doing well, and it just seems exhausting
so we have Siena, who's sending a lot of mixed signals. and Jamie, who is a disaster of a human being who keeps burning down her life and then going "why did you make me burn my life down how could you do this to me". and Siena and Jamie spend a lot of time saying they're drawn to each other, but for the life of me I can't tell why. nobody seems to be having any fun, they're just veering from crisis to crisis and semi-regularly having orgasms
I say all this assuming this formula works for other readers, this is just why none of the author's books have really worked for me personally
I couldn't wait to read this book for several reasons: I just love the title as it makes me think of Chappell Roan's song all the time. And secondly, I loved Sienna in the book “Taming of a Rebel”. An absolute power woman who deserves love and an honest and loving relationship.
Sienna is not looking for love, but every now and then a one night stand - why not? This is the case that night when she meets Jamie. She is immediately attracted and it starts to sizzle. Unfortunately, after the hot night it turns out that Jamie is a professional “enemy” of Sienna. Jamie gets into trouble professionally and is dependent on Sienna's help. Will they give in to their attraction?
I liked the tension, the sparks and the attraction. Also the spicy scenes. I found the build-up of tension from drama and angst very good and understandable at the beginning. In the last third of the book, I had the feeling that it was dragged out a bit artificially. I had a bit of a problem with Jamie's behavior in particular, because although Sienna's communication was always very open, I had the feeling that Jamie simply WANTED to misunderstand her. Nevertheless, I really liked the writing style and their story. Very steamy, lots of love paired with fears and self-esteem issues.
Thoroughly enjoyed this ice queen / found family spicy sapphic romance! Siena and Jamie are made to hate each other… working on separate sides of the music entertainment industry. A one night stand (complete with fake names and margaritas!) turns disastrous when they discover who the other really is. What follows is a love story full of surprises, some miscommunication, and an undeniable chemistry. Making a guest appearance are Rebel and Tori from Making of a Rebel, and I really enjoyed visiting with these characters again. While Siena and Jamie work through their feelings for each other they also realize they need to work on their own personal challenges in order to make their relationship work. I love that the author made Jamie a curvy and confident woman, and I thought the spicy scenes between Jamie and Siena were well written. Though it was a bit frustrating to wait for Jamie and Siena to work through their issues and realize the love they had for each other, it made the ending that much sweeter!
Oh boy, I was promised two Ice Queens but what I got was lukewarm at best. Maybe it was Jamie’s over-the-top "I don’t like myself" attitude that threw me off but her character just never clicked for me. And I never thought I’d say this but there were way too many sex scenes. Most of them didn’t move the story forward and lacked any real buildup. Instead of creating sizzling tension, they just felt dull and repetitive. By the end, I was skipping them without a second thought.
Now, onto the writing: The storytelling often felt disjointed, frequently relying on delayed exposition. Characters would make decisions or things would unfold without any immediate context, leaving me more confused than intrigued. Instead of weaving explanations into the narrative as they went, the author withheld them for pages, sometimes an entire chapter, disrupting the flow and making the experience more frustrating than immersive. More than once, I found myself flipping back, wondering if I’d missed something. Honestly, that "guess what’s going on" game? Not for me.
Not much is casual in this latest book from Eada Friesian and I would like to thank her for that! Clever and sexy, the story revolves around Siena and Jamie. Two women in the entertainment industry who meet and have a quick hook up. Their chemistry is apparent from the get go and so is their drama.
Siena is an entertainment manager, Jamie is a gossip writer. It's not exactly a perfect combination and they fight their attraction, until, yup, they can't. Sure, they want to keep things casual between them, but their lives keep intersecting and that is where the fun begins.
This is another really enjoyable story from Eada. I really love her style and quick wit. The characters always just click. This stand alone references the friendships in Taming of a Rebel and Spicy Sapphic Christmas books. You don't need to read them to follow the characters, but you're missing out on some great reads if you don't add them to your library.
Sienna Frazee, after being hit on by a gorgeous woman using the name Julie, takes her to a hotel where they have intense sex. All is going well until Sienna sees her id by accident and learns she's Jamie Kettlehouse, a notorious gossip columnist. Sienna flees, leaving a confused Jamie. Jamie writes a blog post that indirectly wipes at Sienna, but it blows up in her face when her boss gets pissed. He insists she write a story exploring both sides, AND she needs to get Sienna to agree to a interview. And we find out why Jamie has been chasing Sienna: she wants to out her client's, Bunny and Piper. Sorry, Jamie, I'm on Sienna's side, forcing folks out before they're ready is shitty. After a story is leaked, Sienna blames Jamie, but eventually they work it out. It kind of feels weirdly unfinished. Several plot threads just stop, which makes me wonder if I need to read the book Sienna first appears in.
I read this after reading taming of a rebel, which I thought was excellent. This book fell a bit short for me, it felt as though the story line was lacking a little bit and there was a lot of vagueness around their job information, as if it was too much for the reader to understand. Also, I didn’t understand why the characters felt betrayed at times, the offence the other felt wasn’t properly explained. Also, the getting so wet from just looking at each other was a bit much, I feel like it could have had a bit of variety in that aspect. Also, I feel like they didn’t have enough interactions to claim they loved each other so quick.
I still enjoyed reading more about sienna but the book definitely felt too long in places, too short in others and I feel like there were some loose ends, like why did their family issues come up towards the end and then not really go anywhere? Unless Jessie has a storyline and it is an opener to start that one?
I knew from the very first line that I was going to love this book! “Some people like to be wine’d and dine’d, I like to be fajita’d and margarita’d.” I have been awaiting Siena’s story for quite some time as I have read all the previous books by this writer and have loved them but Siena’s Ice Queen persona had me needing more from the minute she was introduced in the Rebel book. This did not disappoint, the banter between Siena and Jamie was hilarious and relationship evolution was superb. She also is an expert at including character from her previous books back into the stories so we get a glimpse at what’s going on with them now which I absolutely love!! Every time I read a book by Eada I am left wanting a follow up for a different character from this hilarious and intriguing world she has created…perhaps we will see Jessie find love next?? 10/10 as always with this amazing author!!
I was hooked with the first line. Which, I’m not surprised by since Eada Friesian has so many great one liners.
This is a perfect one night to forever romance novel. Siena is a top notch entertainment manager with an icy persona, who ends up in a one night stand with her professional mortal enemy, Jaime Kettlehouse. The gossip columnist/journalist who has caused Siena many headaches.
Both women refusing to back down on their professional careers but trying to navigate the obvious chemistry between them. The relationship development between Siena and Jamie felt organic to the circumstances. I could relate to Jamie, having a certain amount of confidence and swagger but struggling with self worth and deprecation. The tension, the banter, the spice, and the angst had a vice grip on me. I could not put the book down.
This book does have connections to her previous works, Taming of a Rebel and Spicy Sapphic Christmas. I loved seeing Harley and Tori again.
Overall, I personally love this book. I loved the beautiful body representation, I loved the vulnerability to acknowledge a need for change, I loved the quick witted humor, and I loved the reference to thing 1 and thing 2.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for Is It Casual Now.
